A wonderful little cottage in a superb location for exploring Whitby. The host, Heather, was lovely, and we even got an early check-in. The cottage has everything you need for a couple and was so cosy. A lovely surprise was a little food hamper in arrival. Can't fault the cottage or location at all, A cafe and tea rooms both within 30 second walk and some lovely pubs and bars less than 5 minutes away.

The location was spot on
Heather rang to say cottage was ready early
Much appreciated sensor light in yard
So clean and comfortable and nice decor
Lovely towels, fabulous, blue furry throw on bed!
Welcome basket lovely esp Maltessers!
My dog would've loved it there too
Nice touch that the lounge lamp was on but I was a bit freaked out by the radio being on, I thought someone was in and I'd been double booked
Nothing
A soft throw on settee downstairs would be nice.
Maybe an extension lead so you can use the sockets behind the TV ?

Fantastic little cottage - perfect for two people. We loved how close it was to the centre of Whitby but also how quiet it was. The cottage had everything we needed - lots of attention to detail. We will definitely be back and would recommend this accomodation.

Beautiful little cottage. Heather and Ian were brilliant hosts who were super responsive and helpful when we needed to move due to a leak. They swapped us straight away to another beautiful home just 5 mins away.
Glad they are not continuing to work with Host and Stay who I think are a con and tried to get us to pay a non refundable damage waiver and deposit even when Airbnb support told us not to as insurance is provided by them. They refused to give us check in details without doing this even though we had told them airbnb had advised us not to.
Would advise all bookings to ask to check in and deal directly with the host to avoid this problem as they were brilliant.

Lovely little cottage in a perfect location - just a few minutes walk from all the central, popular parts of Whitby and the beach. The cottage itself is well furnished, clean - and warm! Directions to the cottage and instructions on accessing the building and parking were very clear and easy to follow. The owners also provided useful local information in a number of different formats.
Excellent customer care from Iain, the owner, too. Will definitely consider renting one of the Vitty's cottages in the future.

Very cosy little cottage for two.
Great location.
Good heating and WiFi
Much appreciated box of treats.
Very clean and comfortable.
Excellent flow of information from the hosts.
Despite having a precise location - it's still a little tricky to spot in the dark. The Elders Yard sign being high up behind a wrought iron gate sporting a Private sign.
This place is not for everyone, the steps in the yard really need a handrail and many will find the stairs to the bathroom difficult. Very impressive conversion though!

Great location. Very cosy and comfortable and nice touches such as smart tv and coffee machine.
Not necessary a negative, but stairs are quite steep up to the bathroom so maybe just a wee note to make people aware in case of mobility issues!

The cottage is lovely
I couldn’t pay my deposit first and had to chase the office. At present I haven’t received my deposit money back yet after 2 weeks so will have to chase again
It is a huge inconvenience for me and three nights I stayed there were not worth the hustle.

Location was great.
Had pretty much everything we needed. Cooking was tight in a small space but we managed. Poor loo rolls, a small point but one that needs addressing. Unfortunately I wouldn’t book again due to the very high price from host and stay for what’s like an insurance policy. £25 for 2 nights. I can insure both myself and my wife for a years travel in Europe.

Lovely little cottage in a sweet secluded little alley! Soooo quiet and cozy. The bed was comfortable and it was close to everything. I didn't have a car so parking wasn't needed but not sure how that works as the streets are very narrow.
It was all good!

Location very good
The cottage was lovely. Would not book with host and stay again the reason was after booked they required a twenty five pound waiver fee . Was told if this was not paid they would not send details . Paid fee but they did not send link to pay had to ring twice for them to download app. Said they would send details three days before arrival which they did not. Had to ring again two days later was then told if I did not pay fee holiday was cancelled told them I had paid said they would check and let me know. Ten minutes later received text to tell me if they did not receive waiver feee holiday would be cancelled by this time I was very upset and not very pleased rang again the guy I spoke to apologised for text said he would find out what had happened told him it had been paid two days earlier felt like they had conned me out of twenty five pound would never book with host and stay again it needs to be checked out they are ripping people of have booked with booking . Com many times not had a problem you need to check them out it is giving you a bad name. It made me quite stressed before I went but the cottage was lovely and would go there again it is giving owners of these cottages a bad name

Everything, the little cottage is beautifully decorated, warm and cosy and right in the middle of the Whitby, very handy for all shops and attractions. The lovely welcome pack was very much appreciated.
Absolutely nothing to complain about.
The only thing I would mention is maybe upgrade the TV as it's on a old digital box and channels are quite hard to find.

Excellant location only a short walk from town. Cottage was very tastefully decorated and confortable. Welcome box of biscuits, nibbles, and fizz was a pleasant surprise.
Steep stairs, especially to attic bathroom. OK if you're fit and not too tall!!
Also had trouble finding the yard - suggest in directions that it's opposite the Great Goth shop behind a metal gate signed "private"

Lovely little place, very central, gorg hamper box for arrival along with dog treats too. Thought this was a great touch.
Quite hard to find but hosts where on the end of the phone to help. The bathroom was on a different floor and stairs quite steep.

We loved staying at Seashell Cottage over new year. It was so cosy, warm and comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped and the welcome hamper was full of thoughtful treats. The shower was excellent - great pressure! The location is perfect, right in the heart of Whitby but also tucked away in its own secluded courtyard - it was so quiet and peaceful. Would definitely recommend and plan to stay here again on future visits, thank you!

Great location. Secluded courtyard good for the dog.
Warm and cosy. Comfy bed and nice big bathroom. Welcoming touches (box of goodies, milk tea and coffee etc)
Nothing not to dislike. Ideal for a couple of nights. Living area a bit cramped for a longer stay.

The location was great, right in centre but peaceful and tucked away. The property was soooo cute and cozy. The hosts answered lots of questions from me before my stay and we’re really helpful. The facilities in the property were excellent.
The tv didn’t work how the instructions said, and it said the radiators were all individually controlled but the one in the bedroom was turned off and that couldn’t be changed and it did smell a bit weird (wet dog) BUT this is just me trying to be as constructive as I can be - I would definitely rebook.

Lots of lovely touches throughout, very homely from the first step through the door. From the welcome basket to the decor we really loved Seashell Cottage. Central to everything we wanted for our short stay and plenty of places to eat and drink, with the convenience of a bolt hole to escape and rustle up a meal when we chose to stop in. Elders Yard is a quiet peaceful little courtyard.
Parking while finding a spot was a little challenging, the more you looked the more you found and the Permit was easy if you read the instructions provided.
It was really nice to have a visit from Ian the owner to check that all was well also.
We would definitely look to stop here again, thank you.
Really difficult to put a lot here, perhaps the property was a little difficult to find initially as the sign for Elders Yard is tucked away behind the decorative iron gate to the private yard.

Great location, near to shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, beach.
Cheap single ply toilet roll! Spent ages in the rain looking for Elders Yard. Asked a chap in the shop that sold knitted souvenirs and he had never heard of it. Eventually found the yard, the sign is on the inside of the gunnel obscured by a gate.

Easy to find, very quiet, lovely little extras, check information excellent.
No smart TV or ability to charge devices in living area. No area to get ready in bedroom, plug points next to bed can only be used standing up in front of mirror. Picnic bag oddly located in what was presumed to be bathroom storage cupboard, didnt find it till final sweep upon checkout.
Lots of dents and flaking paint where people have obviously bumped their heads going into bathroom.

Quiet, good location, the gifts on arrival, easy parking and once parked I didn't need to use my car until I left.

Beautiful, cosy and clean cottage. Close to everything yet private that you feel mikes away. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch and much appreciated alongside the milk in the fridge. It’s just the small things that count and this place and the hosts more than that. Won’t think twice about returning or trying out the other properties the Vittys own as the standard is of high quality.

Lovely little cottage in a great location in Whitby. Please note although listed as dog friendly dogs are only allowed on the ground floor of the property which is very small, we weren't aware of this until a week before our stay as it is not mentioned anywhere in the information on air BnB. The cottage has everything you need, lots of nice extra touches too. Lush coffee across the road is brilliant for breakfast. We had a really enjoyable stay.

Lovely place, nicely decorated in good location (a bit up hill, but this is Whitby!). Excellent welcome pack and very cosy. Stairs are steep but manageable. Recommend Rusty Shears a couple of doors down for breakfast/brunch and Star Inn the Harbour for dinner. Great for a weekend away.

The Seashell Cottage is ideally located in the heart of Whitby - although it has its own entrance/courtyard for privacy. The property itself is beautiful, with a comfy bed and spacious bathroom, it has everything you need for a short stay by the seaside. We particularly appreciated the personal touches, such as the little snack hamper and toiletries in the bathroom. Furthermore, before our arrival, communication was spot on and check-in was streamlined and simple.
This is the perfect place for a seaside stay and I will definitely be back here in the future!
