Beautiful apartment, ground floor which was perfect for Basil our 13 year old Collie. The location which is top of the cliff across from the Abbey was stunning, would highly recommend and if I went to Whtby again Rock Pipit would be my first choice.

Nice stay in a lovely apartment, it’s run by a 2nd party company which gives all the details. The damage waiver is £500 which is something to be aware off. Nice place and a short walk into Whitby. Would recommend just be aware of Host and Stay’s processes.

Amazing location and lovely comfortable well equipped apartment. Perfect for a couple and their 2 fur babies. We'll definitely be booking this property again in the future 😊🐶

Some of apartment photos aren't up to date so a few furnishings had changed like dinner table chairs were not as comfy. Yard was slabbed nicely in photos but concrete original yard as it is now.

No toilet paper, who brings toilet paper on holiday no one so we had to waste time on our time away buying toilet paper.... terrible
Didn't look clean pet hair and dust all over
No parking disc in the property so I got a parking fine
Not a very enjoyable experience
If you are going to book this place then find somewhere else cos you'll be disappointed at Rockpipit

Love the location and we regularly stay around this area. Facilities are good in the apartment and it is a lovely apartment overall.

It just wasn't clean enough, I understand cleaners don't have much time but still there is a limit that we are prepared to accept and don't need to go into detail on here - contact was made with Host and Stay about the issues and they did respond quickly.
Unable to open windows on a night as wouldn't be secure and found the bed very soft and uncomfortable - but this could be down to personal preference.

Unfortunately the apartment had a small courtyard garden at the back with great patio doors this was left in a bad state cigarette ends left everywhere and a smell of dog urine and leaves and dirt need attention

This is a perfect place to stay if you want to explore Whitby and the area, had everything I needed as the weather was a bit hit and miss, so nice to be in a home from home.
Great location and welcoming and communicative host. Would definitely return

Drip on the kitchen tap kitchen drawer fell on my foot I did phone to let you know no one came to fix it bed was uncomfortable and very low gardens very dirty and the smoke holder was dirty and full hadn't been cleaned for a very long time no Netflix on the TV for the price it was very poor

Location great for everything. Easy to access, easy to use heating, TV etc. really comfy, well stocked with everything we needed in the property.

We were told there would be a scratch card for the parking but there wasn't one and this made parking difficult. We would have been happy to buy one but couldn't find where to do this. The previous guests said the same thing so scratch cards for parking are not being left for guests which would help with the visit.

The location was good but bad for parking.
TV good .
Bed good.Advert on Booking. Com shows a P for parking which is miss leading . Security lock on front door inadequate as its just a latch. It needs to be a 5 lever mortice lock .
The freezer needs defrosting and we had to throw food away . Not enough ventilation in the rooms .
Parking permits would be a nice touch .

Lovely, clean and bright ground floor apartment in a great location. The apartment is nicely decorated and felt modern and comfortable.
We really enjoyed the location, as it was only a few minutes walk from town but was still nice and quiet the whole time we were there.
Communication was always prompt and clear and the instruction guide made checking in quick and easy.
Only downside is that parking scratch cards are no longer included in the booking. There are several pay and display car parks within a 5-10 minute walk and we found a pay & display space without any issues, but just something to bear in mind to research before you arrive.
Other than that, can highly recommend this apartment and we would definitely stay here again next time we come to Whitby!

No waffle basically loads of hidden charges its a rip off and dirty old uncomfortable bed which is like lying in a bed of nails and pillows like bricks and that's a fact,,Curtainpoles thick in dust ,Ect ect , ,A new cleaner and new Bed ,And slightly cheaper price it would be perfect

Being ripped off, Uncomfortable bed and pillows what must of had 1000 ppl plus sleep on and the little smelly sofas ,What a joke , Also constantly getting texts reminding us you have to be out by 10am ffs it was 8pm and then 9 pm the night before then 8Am the next day and then 9 am ,And for good measure 10am as we was leaving reminded us again, Like we was special,So spoilt our rip off break away, Never again

Only due to my mobility problems it was a little too far up a big hill for my walking. If no mobility issues it’s ideal.

The location was fantastic and parking was easy too.

The bed was so uncomfortable and despite previous negative feed back going back a couple of years this doesn't seem to have been rectified. The heating system was all to cock. It was freezing when we arrived then overnight the heating would come on which made the bedroom unbearable. There are no radiators in the property at all apart from the towel rail in the bathroom so no way of adjusting the heat and the thermostats didn't seem to be doing the job as intended.

The bed!!! We cut our stay short because the bed is the most uncomfortable bed we have ever experienced. The guest book states the same on several comments. Please change the bed, both frame and mattress. The mattress is tired, cheap with no cover and the frame is creaky with the slightest bit of movement. Please, please change the bed and we will be regular guests.

The apartment was ideal for visiting Whitby. It's in such a great location, literally walk down the road and you're in the centre of town. The apartment was spotless, had everything we needed, including local guides, food and toiletries etc. The only thing was the parking, but once we found somewhere we stayed there, and it was a bank hol too so super busy. Also messaged the host about parking and got a response straight away, on a bank hol Sat afternoon! So that was great. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again.

Lovely well equipped, nicely presented modern apartment on one ground floor. enclosed small front garden and rear yard which were safe to let the dog out. Handily placed for all the pubs, eateries, shops and attractions on the West Cliffe and everything else Whitby has to offer.

Lovely flat, all rooms on ground floor which was great for our elderly dog! The flat is well equipped, very tidy and is in a great quiet location, with just a few minutes walk to the harbour. Host & Stay kept us well informed and messaged during our stay asking if we needed anything. We were very impressed with their service and will be making future bookings with them.

It was so close to everything and we had a parking spot right outside the door loved the little seat in the garden in the morning with a coffee 😍

The only thing that I can say was that it is a warm flat and could of done with a fan as I wasn’t keen on leaving a window open when we were out 😚

Location was great near the sea front and plenty of green areas to walk our dog. The property was lovely and clean. Very spacious with all amenities you will need for your stay. Nice little private courtyard to the rear.

Hard to find the accomodation with sat nav keeps taking you down one way streets. Had to get out of car and walk to ask locals for directions. Also parking scratchcard was defaced so couldn't use it and had to pay to park on local car park £9 for 24 hours. The host dropped one off the following day but should have been checked when preparing the property for our arrival

the only thing that I would say is...
the lock needs looking at as the key didn't fit very well and made it very hard to open.
and get a smart TV or Netflix etc as only a few rubbish out dated tv channels available for when you want to chill in the apartment.
other than that a fab place to stay, great location and well looked after!!

The apartment was comfortable, clean and spacious. The bed comfortable and was in a great location. Quiet and peaceful and within 5-10 minutes walk of all the pubs, the harbour, and West Cliff. Nice hot shower, and a bath, and a little patio space out the back. Unlike some of the older reviews state, the wifi does work well now.

Communication via Host and Stay was irritating and difficult. It seems to me that they are a third party host, and so when asking simple questions the response seemed to come from a remote office who had nothing to do with the actual property (I could be wrong but it seemed this way). It felt the whole time as though I were communicating with a computer or AI system rather than a human on the other end. I asked in advance whether there was a parking voucher to use for the stay and was told there wasn't one, so I paid for parking nearby before arriving. When I arrived there was a parking voucher for the 2 night stay ready to use on the table. I also wanted to extend my stay by one night and could see the apartment was vacant - so it was mutually beneficial - but messaging Host and Stay about this was long-winded and overly confusing. They seemed to go offline at 6pm and so the extension was left hanging/uncomfirmed. No one called to help me with this after I'd told them I was having trouble doing so on the booking.com website. I was told it wasn't possible then to extend on the very next morning, by email at 7am, when I was still asleep, which I missed, only then to be phoned a bit later on by a local Yorkshire office (who were actually really helpful) - after the cleaners had turned up and i had to tell them we were still there..., who extended the stay within 20 seconds and charged to the card i'd used - not rocket science... I'm not sure what's up with the system here but it doesn't work. It's a shame as the apartment itself and the person I did manage to speak to on the phone (and the lovely cleaners) were really nice. It's a great stay if you don't have any issues along the way that need resolution I suppose. It put a bit of a damper on the stay and would mean I'm leaving this review, and am unlikely to return should I come back to Whitby - which is ace!

Plus points:
- really clear instructions
- great location
- good space and well equipped kitchen

Negatives
- light in bathroom and main light in bedroom both not working
- patio doors were so stiff we couldn’t open the first night so were really warm in the night
- whole place smelled quite strongly of dog. Appreciate it’s dog friendly but for a £50 cleaning fee I wouldn’t expect to be lighting scented candles and opening windows to air it out. Wouldn’t advise having fluffy rugs in a place where lots of wet/sandy dogs are going to be as they just hold the smell
- bedding was pretty low quality and uncomfortable

Probably wouldn’t stay again unless they improved on the above.

The only slight issue was with the temperature of the water in the shower, we figured it out that if you don't turn it on fully it was hotter but that was it.

The flat was clean and had every thing you need,the wifi wouldnt connect to password so after numerous attempts we paid for a bt wifi hotspot at 7.99 for a day,which wasnt to bad as we got a parking permit free for 2 days which we werent expecting .Parking is a nightmare as there is zones which you have to use ,wouldnt like to park there in peak season but once we found a spot we left the car as everything was in walkable distant. Location is close to beach ,town centre but be prepared for plenty of steps! The only other problem was the shower was cold,as previous tenants left a review stating the same so either there is a problem or better instructions need to put in place Whitby is a lovely town and we did enjoy the weekend as did our 2 golden retrievers,although we would need a garden nxt time as Rockpit only has a small patio but that was my mistake and being 5 mins from the beach wasnt a problem even walked ours on my own at midnight and felt safe in area

Ideal setting within the heart of Whitby. However feel the fact you as the renter have to pay for their third party deposit scheme on top of your stay is a bit unfair.

We both were covid positive few days before check in. Wanted to postpone but the host was rigid. No cancellation and no reschedule.

Arrived at destination and had to call as we did not receive the email and sms code to get the keys.

Simple details like only one coffee capsule for 2 pax.

Save yourself the hassle snd book via owners directly instead of going through agencies.

Great location, and the house guidebook provided when booking includes a wealth of recommendations. Very professionally managed, and it felt seamless.
Really loved it, and was such a quiet place to stay, within a short walk to pubs and seaside!
