It was quite cold downstairs and only got warm as you went into the bathroom and bedroom upstairs as the 3 tiny radiators downstairs don’t fill the full downstairs room with heat at all

Pier View is in a great location to access all Saltburn has to offer. The apartment is lovely - modern but cosy with free parking. Everything was very clean and we appreciated the milk and tea and coffee.

I agree with other reviews that maybe a small sofa would be more comfortable downstairs although it wasn’t a major problem for us.

Its location, the view of the sea and pier from the bedroom was amazing. The decor was light and modern, the bathroom was lovely. The kitchen had all you needed for your stay.

The seating in the sitting area, the two chairs were a bit grubby from wear and not for relaxing to watch tv. A small L shaped sofa would be perfect. The duvet on the bed was of a poor quality and a bit heavy.

This was a great little apartment for a weekend getaway over our anniversary. It has all amenities, amply stocked and was very comfortable and well decorated. The location is excellent, being just 5 minutes from the beach and there is loads to do in Saltburn. My two criticisms would be that there is no sofa so seating is limited. I would also like to flag that there is an additional £25 hidden deposit fee which I found frustrating on top of an already unfair £50 cleaning fee. Other than these though, it makes for an excellent place to stay and we’d definitely consider going back.

Great apartment in a perfect location. Quiet neighborhood and building, but walkable to lively restaurants and bars. If you are new to Saltburn, it’s probably helpful to know that most or all of the accommodations in town are a LOT of stairs away from the actual beach. Host and Stay are a good local management company and are very quick to respond to questions.

Near town and just off main promenade. Lovely accommodation for 2. Booked as wedding anniversary break. The only downside is that all seating in accommodation is separate chairs, and we were not able to snuggle up when sat watching TV. It was a disappointment as enough room for a 2 seated sofa but not a game changer. Spend a few hours in the morning at the balcony in the bedroom, drinking a cuppa and watching people trying to find parking. As upstairs carrying everything upstairs and no tray, so multiple trips. On whole would stay again. If you have the opportunity to book in there, take it.

If a romantic couple retreat, then change single seats. Bed ok but again space for a larger bed. Not sure was a double? Hidden extra costs such as £25 insurance for property or £250 refund deposit, which I only found out about after paid plus extra for admin & cleaning charge. Reasonable & comparable to other properties, but would prefer all this up front so can budget. I would stay again. Space above kitchen, not a room, quirky but need to crawl in and out of. Adds character but no real function. Wondered if used as an additional sleep space for a child but half stairs so not safe for young children.

Pier View is a beautiful property, with everything you could need, in a fantastic location within a very short walk to the funicular tram / steps to the promenade & beach.
It is close to the shops and restaurants; there is so much choice.
The downloadable handbook was a great option & very useful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would def book again & recommend to our friends and family.

Property ‘Pier View’ in Saltburn was gorgeous. The apartment was so modern; fully equipped kitchen, perfect location, comfy bed, easily accessible, pet friendly with no extra fee.

Only reason for not having 5* are the sitting chairs to relax on an evening are not ‘relaxing.’ The property is suited towards couples as only 1 bedroom and I think, as many of the previous reviews say - a sofa would be much better suited for this type of property. Normally people visiting a seaside town want to relax on an evening - even a fairly small sofa in this property would make it 5*s.

I also found the accommodation to be expensive. We were there over a bank holiday so we took the extra cost on the chin however I do think £300 plus for a two night stay in Saltburn is expensive.
Also as previously mentioned in reviews - the extra deposit fee is also very high - i appreciate companies asking for a deposit but £250 may put some people off booking which would be a shame

Lovely place, useful electronic guide, great location, comfortable, tastefully decorated with fab shower space and great views of the pier from the bedroom.
Had a problem with smoke detector, but rectified very quickly and so excellent service, thank you!

The apartment was perfect BUT Host and Stay did not send the info to gain access... emails to them eventually got results but we had fortunately been able to contact the owner who provided code.

Sea views from the bedroom (chairs). Location. Modern and stylish. Clean and comfortable.

Lack of drawers and storage space for personal items. Little things, such as no washing up liquid, no tea towel, no kitchen roll, only half a toilet roll in each toilet and no dishcloth/brush. The extra seated area cannot be used by adults as a sleeping area, as the ceiling is very, very low. Really not suitable and would be better as a decorative feature area or storage.

Very nice, high standard of decor, gorgeous bathroom, very clean, easy to access, great staff communication. Easy enough to park, so close to everything. Lovely.

Zero hand wash, a quarter of a bottle of very watered down washing up liquid and very basic kitchen equipment but that’s the only downsides. The one thing missing is a sofa, the living area is more like a waiting room. Nowhere to sit and relax. The chairs aren’t comfy.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay here. The accommodation was excellent and as described.
We found a lovely cafe for lunch, and an excellent pizza takeaway one evening . The bakery that we used was also excellent.
We didn’t struggle to park even though we arrived on Saturday afternoon when it was quite busy.
The X4 bus to Whitby is a nice trip out.
We would definitely recommend this cute apartment and we would use it again.

The chairs were not particularly comfortable. Couples may well prefer one decent comfortable sofa to relax more on an evening. The corkscrew did not work properly, likely the poor quality. May seem minor, but it was a concern. Otherwise, excellent.

I would definitely recommend and would stay again.

I was a little put off by the £250 damage deposit (or £25 waiver) with a non-optional £10 admin fee. We often have weekends away in similar properties and have never had to do this before.
Plus receiving a message the day before check-out with instructions for when we leave felt a bit OTT.... nobody wants reminding that early that your holiday is coming to and end 😌 the morning of check-out would have been better.

The property was filthy. We found pubic hair all over the bathroom floor, pubic hair and stains on the bed. There was food and crumbs throughout. The oven was filthy. There was urine on the toilet seat. There was dog hair and and dirty footprints on the seating. We escalated this to the host who insisted we allowed them to send another housekeeper. We did this and there was little improvement which meant we cut our holiday short and travelled home at our expense. Host and Stay have subsequently refused to refund the amount we have paid, and are claiming we have accepted a lesser amount than the full booking cost. This is made more insulting by the fact that we were demanded to pay a massive deposit or non-refundable insurance to book the stay. Avoid at all costs.

I’m really not happy with the Host & Stay damage insurance policy. Having to fork out £250 x2 weeks prior to the stay on top of the payment in full to stay is excessive & unreasonable. It wasn’t returned until 1 week after departure. I won’t be using Host & Stay again

We loved our stay at Pier View. It was a really hot day so it was lovely to get the doors open in the bedroom!
Everything is finished to a very high standard with an uncluttered feel. Check in was easy, and clear instructions were given in the form of an online welcome guide.
My only feedback is the £250 deposit or £25 waiver. I’d have been happier for you to take my card details rather than actually take £250 then refund it after our stay. It doesn’t feel particularly welcoming before we’ve even got there.

Location was good. Convenient for the sea front (though there was, of course, a climb down to and back up from the actual sea). Good view. The bed was comfortable. I found the kitchen a bit lacking in pans and utensils, but it was good enough for basic cooking. All in all, worth a visit.

Loved the decoration and feel of the place, whoever planned it has a great eye. Plenty of fantastic bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Would definitely recommend.

Very well placed for saltburn town centre and also overlooking the sea. All very nice and clean. Comfy bed, fully appointed kitchen and great swoer wet room.
Parking is free and no time limits. We managed to get a space right outside after the day trippers had left. We were there for the folk festival and it was a great base for that.

Nothing to dislike about the place, a couple of seat cushions were slightly stained but we let the company know as there is a deposit.
On the booking. Com website it says fully refundable deposit but the letting company take £10 admin. We found the very many emails too much, why so many? Hopefully we will re book for next year, just the admin side we didn't like.

Our stay at Saltburn was lovely. Beautiful apartment with no hassle checking in or out. Beautiful view from the bedroom and beach on our doorstep. I’ve never been to saltburn and booked it purely for the air b&b but I was not disappointed. Its now my new favorite place to stay and I will be back!
The only criticisms of the stay would be the following:
The flat was mostly clean and tidy but there was some cobwebs and dust dotted about
The host was a little stingy with basics. We ran out of toilet-roll during out stay and there was no soap or handwash what so ever provided. Nor no coffee and two little sachets of sugar and milk, similar to what you’d get if you got a mcdonalds coffee were provided. No shower gel or shampoo, not that this should be expected but its something we’ve had at most of our stays elsewhere.
The flat was smaller than it appears on the pictures but still more than big enough for 2.
Overall this was a solid 4.5 out of 5. Would recommend and will be back!

Lovely little flat in a great spot! Being able to see the sea from your window, being a 5 minute walk down to the beach and all the shops/restaurants that Saltburn has to offer is amazing. We loved our cosy space for the week and it suited us very well. They also allow dogs which is an amazing bonus!

The place was dirty, spent over two hours cleaning, spoke to host and stay and they said they would send a cleaner the next day. Thats no good when you have to spend the night in the filth. Hair, pubic hair, mud, dust and cobwebs in bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom. Cushions were covered in hair, they looked grey but they would have been black.

It was dirty. Still awaiting there reply to my
complaint.

Very convenient location. It was lovely being so close to the beach. 5 minutes walk from the train station, Sainsburys, cafe’s, restaurants and bars. We visited the Amber Rooms for the most amazing massages which I’d highly recommend. Again, 5 minutes walk within The Spa Hotel. I don’t know if time was short for cleaning before our arrival as the cleanliness of the apartment could definitely have been a lot better. I noticed a previous review mentioning there was no hand wash and there was none on our arrival. Not a great issue with Sainsbury’s being so close by but on arrival and a nip to the toilet, it would have been nice for the hand wash container by the bathroom sink to have soap in it. The listing also mentioned it had shampoo, make sure you bring your own. At the bottom of the boiler cupboard within the bathroom there was a small rubbish bag containing 3 small sachets of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel which you would have to have gone looking for. Lovely spot, the apartment was renovated to a high standard. Close to all the nice pubs and restaurants in Saltburn. Great walks locally, Marske and back with a spot of lunch at the ship pub is a nice walk. A bus to Skinningrove and walk back along the Cleveland way also lovely. The Marine view pub food is tasty and value for money. We can also recommend the Thai by the station and No23. We went during the quiet time but I can imagine parking might be difficult during the height of summer.

We had a fabulous time in Saltburn By The Sea.
The apartment was in a great location,easy access and with free easy parking.
The apartment was beautiful,well equipped and comfortable.And wow! What a fantastic view from the bedroom window.
The town was close by and had everything we needed.
Just the relaxing break we needed!

I found it unnecessarily fussy dealing with Host&Stay. Some of the messages from them were not needed. Their 51 page guidebook (some pages with one sentence on the page) was unduly involved and expensive to print out.

Stunning property, beautifully decorated in amazing location. the online guide was very useful and had all the information we needed. Free parking on the street. we loved the view. Kitchen well equipped. We didn’t want to leave, absolutely loved it.

The soap dispenser in the bathroom was empty and there were some frying pans that didn’t work with the induction hob which took a while for us to figure out but other than that it was PERFECT.

Thanks for a great stay, lovely location very close to the beach - access to the beach is via some really steep steps or via the cable cart which doesn’t run all of the time. I’m 35 and had to take a few stops each time we tackled them.

Beach was nice and flat and clean.

Place was generally clean, decor is modern and they’ve made nice use of the space.

We took a trip to Whitby which was a nice day out but very busy! Great stay nearby some shops and local restaurants - a little on the pricey side for breakfast and we are used to London prices - just not sure if we just picked the wrong place but it was nice.

Great little flat seconds from the beach. Easy to park on the street during the week but if you’re staying at the weekend it’s busy so I would recommend either arriving early and spending the day exploring Saltburn before checking in or late when it calms down a bit. It was lovely to sit in the bedroom in the evening and watch the sea. Wonderfully decorated.

A stylish and spacious flat, we loved our stay here and as our own home is going through a major refurbishment currently it was a treat to stay somewhere with all mod cons and such a high quality finish to the interiors and design! so handy with the beach, bars, restaurants and shops all 5 mins or less walk away too. And a big plus that we could bring our dog! A lovely little bolthole by the seaside.

Pier View is a lovely place to stay, the view from the bedroom out to the sea is lovely.

The location is great, close to the beach, local shops, cafes and bars. There’s also a walk that runs from the sea from along the river and into the woods which is lovely for a dog walk.

The apartment is clean and tidy, there was an issue with the WiFi however, the host was quick to respond to the messages and the issue was quickly rectified.

One note, we couldn’t work out how to use the electric hob as it’s all touch screen and we couldn’t find any instructions so these might be handy for future guests.

Overall I would definitely recommend - it was a lovely stay.
