Good location clean and modern warm comfortable and clean

A free issues with the bathroom radiator fixings need attention,plus a wall fixing in the bathroom. Picture in the hall randomly fell off.
A few more fixings that need attention like tops stair light. We had to use our phone torches to get down stairs
Exposed electrics when you walk in. Stairs up to where we were staying. Neighbour upstairs noisy doing his own DIY plus strange smell on an evening coming from upstairs. Not a good example for my 11 year old son.

Great location, just a few minute walk from the beach. The apartment was spacious, modern and had a good size kitchen. Immaculate bathroom with a big shower. Great value for money, there were only two of us but there was a separate room with bunk beds if you're a family. Also has a sea view from the window seat.

A bit more thought could have gone into making the apartment more practical, for instance, there's no doormat so we struggled to keep the carpet clean after coming back with sandy/muddy boots. Also the kitchen utensils, pots and pans could do with replacing, oven gloves were filthy and could easily be washed or replaced, and the frying pan was chipping away. Some cleaning was also missed, a few cobwebs here and there, and there was a small dead fly on a fridge shelf.

We have just had a break away at this lovely flat. It was very clean, perfect location and had everything we needed.
Lovely decor. Others have said the hallway and front door looks tired and worn.
It’s really not that bad, don’t let it put you off.
Hosts are really helpful too.
Highly recommend.

Good points, the location was excellent and your able to see the sea from the bay window . Very handy for the shops and supermarket 5 minutes from apartment. The listing was extremely accurate the apartment it’s self was very clean ,modern and well equipped . Bad points , the apartment is located on the first floor and the apartments above and below are a building site . Front door dirty and weathered and hall way had many exposed wires and gauges , hall way and approach was dusty and the hall way light is on a timer and ran out by the time we got to our floor as our landing light didn’t work it was very dark on leaving , and entering the apartment,children’s bunk bed mattress were very thin with uncomfortable springs , kitchen amenities spotless, spoilt by scratched and scraped pans and one oven tray dirty . Views a to rear chaotic.

Location was amazing! Apartment was huge and well decorated. Beds were comfy. Everything well looked after and working.

The front door looks a mess- our heart dropped when we seen it. Luckily the interior was perfect! A fresh lick of paint would help with a first impressions. The hall way leading up to the apartment was pitch black. Could not find a light switch, would recommend some glow in the dark signs or motion lighting - especially if there was a fire. The place was red hot and we were unable to open any windows as they were all bottom opening with no security stop - we have a toddler with us so not worth the risk. The roller blinds were nice but would be better to have blackout ones specifically in the childrens room in summer. We had to hoover on arrival! Looks like the last occupier had a white fury friend with them. My little boy was pulling dog hairs out of his mouth. So found the henry and went round the place again. We were there to attend a wedding at Rushpool hall. Not 1 room had a long length mirror in it!! Not ideal for getting ready, sat on the floor with a tiny bathroom mirror trying to do your hair. And not able to check your outfit out before you leave. One in the bedroom and hall way would be ideal.

The building is being renovated, so overall appearance was more like student digs than holiday home. Once in the apartment, it was fine.
Lights in the communal area didn't work. The double bed was made up of two singles that had a ridge you fell down in the centre. There was a distinct damp/musty smell within the apartment.
The door to the bathroom was broken and hard to open.
I have reported all the above to host and stay, so hopefully, it will get sorted out.

The flat was very clean, comfortable and the addition of milk in the fridge was a very welcome and appreciated touch. The property was central to everywhere we needed to be and we were able to park outside the property which was an added bonus.

The entrance and staircase. I am sure it is in a period of decoration but it looked unkempt with lots of dust on the stair rails. Very different to the flat itself and when we first entered was a little alarming as to what we would find during our stay.

The location is great and the apartment itself is really nice. Had everything you needed from a furnishing point of view.

The entrance (communal) is bleak. It’s filthy and gives a terrible first impression. Also, the mattresses on the bunk beds are so bad, the children had to sleep on top of the duvets. Also, the main bed is 2 mattresses on a double bed frame which isn’t ideal. If these things could be changed it would definitely improve overall stay

It was a great location and the front room was lovely; beautifully decorated, lovely view and perfectly clean. Whole appartment was spotless when we arrived, which was great.
It was fine as a base for a couple of nights but wouldn’t work as a week-long stay for a family very well as the kitchen isn’t equipped for making meals and the seating for eating is too small for two adults and two children. There is no washing machine or anywhere to hang wet beach clothes.
Other aspects that would benefit from attending to is that the main bedroom only has a lamp and table on one side of the bed, and no chest of drawers; the bathroom door has no lock and doesn’t really close; paintwork on some walls a bit scuffed and shabby; and the hallway is very tired and a little off-putting. I also feel charging a £10 fee for holding the deposit is unfair.
To sum up, location great, cleanliness perfect, but deposit is steep for quite a budget-seeming place.

Beautifully furnished and decorated. Prime location. Well equipped. Clean and comfortable.

Entrance to the property is very unassuming and the ‘lobby’ is a bit grubby. Although this has nothing to do with the greatness of the property, it doesn’t do it justice. The child lock on the window in the second bedroom means that you can only open the window in that room slightly, which means the room gets rather hot.

Our first impressions weren’t great as the entrance and shared hallway need a lot of attention but once in the apartment it was ok. The kitchen was well appointed, the double bed was comfortable and the living room was spacious but the kids said the bunk beds were uncomfortable and the windows at the front were filthy.
Overall it was ok but with a little attention it could be great

The outside of the property looks quite run down, but the actual apartment itself is beautiful. I could not fault the cleanliness, the beautiful bedlinen and fresh towels, but the bed itself was very uncomfortable and sagged, which made for an unpleasant night sleep. I ended up sleeping on the sofa!
We were left no soap or shampoo as advertised, no washing up liquid, although we were left dishwasher tablets for a non-existent dishwasher!!
Annoying as had to go out and buy these things.

Really close to everything shops, beach and very quiet. Just sad about the bed situation as lack of sleep spoilt our two night break.

As a family of 3 (with a 2 year old), we loved our stay at Fly Away @ Ruby!

Host & Stay were very proactive and responsive with communication leading up to our stay and we’re very helpful upon check-in. Finding the location was easy and it was easy to find parking on the street.

Our first impression of the the exterior and shared hallway of the flat were not that great to be honest. The door could do with a kick of paint and the dimly lit hallway before you get into the flat had exposed electrical fuse boxes and didn’t come across as well loved.

The interior of the flat was well furnished, a cute little kitchen worked well for a small family, the bathroom was very nice, however we noticed that throughout, there was a fair amount of scuffs on the walls with paint missing in some parts and marks on others. But this didn’t hamper our experience.

The area was lovely, the beach and funicular was very close and great access to surrounding areas such as Staithes and Whitby.

We spent 3 lovely nights in this flat, absolutely perfect location for the beach and the shops.
Really quiet. Easy on street parking, no restrictions.

Well presented, lovely living room with a sea view from the bay window. Comfy bed.
We'd love to stay again. I have let the hosts know that they need more mirrors in the house, currently only one in the double bedroom. Possibly the TV needs to be a smart TV but not an issue for us.

Good size apartment, clean and nicely furnished. No mirror in bathroom, only mirror in apartment is on bedroom wall but inappropriately placed. Sink in bathroom very high. The communal hallway is dirty, dark and smells, gives bad impression for (Website hidden by Airbnb) to other places ive stayed in Saltburn this is not value for money.

Had a short stay here and the place was just great . All amenities were here and attention to detail and cleanliness was excellent. You can hear the sea from the windows and it’s a stones throw away from the beach which is sandy and clean . Will definitely be back .

Great stay at Fly Away @ Ruby. Lovely flat, nice modern decor, well equipped and nice to see the sea from the lounge bay window. Very central location, few minutes walk to the beach, shops, restaurants and bars. Saltburn is a lovely seaside spot with lots to see and do and would recommend a visit and a stay at Fly Away @ Ruby.

Location was good, decor was nice, clean throughout including pots/pans/bowls etc. Keys were easy to collect and lock back in. Customer service at Host and Stay is pretty good and I've stayed with them a few times and never had too many issues.

Great place just a couple of minutes walk from the beach. Close to amenities such as restaurants and shops. Had no problem finding a parking space nearby. The flat itself is very quiet, with almost no noise from adjoining flats or the street. The place was very clean, with plenty of utensils for use in the kitchen. The flat did get very hot, but I imagine there is little that could be done to control this considering the building. A larger mirror in the bathroom would be a great addition as the lighting in the main bedroom is a little dark. Overall, a great place and would happily stay again.

Myself, partner & 2 young children stayed for a couple of nights to enjoy the beach & lovely sunny weather, it was PERFECT for what we needed.
Beds were extremely comfortable & the children enjoyed the bunk beds, also plenty of space to hang our clothes. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our own food as well as leaving us a small milk in the fridge upon arrival which was perfect to make myself a cup of tea before heading to the local sainsburys which is just at the end of the road & right by the station. Lovely large shower with plenty of towels provided. Living room was very cosy the children enjoyed sitting on the very soft rug when watching CBeebies in the morning, very homely. & finally I just want to say how nice it was to be able to sit on the window seat in the living room and see the SEA. Such a lovely bonus. We all slept well a very quiet street considering how well located it is. Thank you for having us!

I came on a weekend trip with my mum and 2 kids (2.5 yo and 6mo). The apartment is absolutely perfect. Super super clean. All on one floor with only 3 steps towards the kitchen so v kid friendly. If ever back in Saltburn I will stay here again. Thank you so much.

Whilst I would not agree with the description of Ruby as 'luxury' it was a delight, thought and care had gone into the place to make sure guests have a nice home to stay in.
We would happily come and stay there again as it's perfect, well placed for beach, shops and amenities.

We honestly couldn’t have asked for better. Great location with free parking outside and only a 5 min walk to the beach or town. Decor inside is really nice, beds were comfy, shower great after a day on the beach, kitchen really well equipped and stocked up with tea and fancy coffee making facilities. It’s no wonder this provider is successful, as if all their properties are done to the same standard, then we’d happily try them all out! Thank you STAY.

There was everything that you could need for a lovely break . We ate out every-night but would have loved to cook a meal in the lovely kitchen! Great location too just a short walk to the seafront with lots of lovely walks nearby too.

We had a great stay in this apartment in Saltburn. The check in was very easy, the apartment is located close to the train station and a short walk down the hill to the beach. The apartment was very clean and stocked with all amenities, including milk in the fridge, coffee, tea, etc. Highly recommend.
