Tv in bedroom didn’t work even though we tried to tune it in three times. The parking permit didn’t last for our full stay we had to pay £9.60 each car for the last day. The tv in the living room needs to have an instruction manual as it’s not as simple as turn on and press the guard button. Toilet seat was broken. Not a lot of work space in the kitchen and what space there was was filled by the large canisters. It needs to be made more clear that the upstairs bedroom has steep stairs. ( my parents who are 72 couldn’t get up them) living room rug needs rug stop under it we slipped on it a few times

Great position of accommodation. Sweet little cottage.
Lack of wine glasses, lack of tea spoons, lack of hand towels (1 for 3 people), dirty crockery, especially the mugs, heading locked so we couldn't turn it up when we were cold.

The property was just what we wanted dog friendly
Location was brilliant so close to bars restaurants the harbour
The cottage had everything you needed for your holiday
Lots of plates cups and glasses, along side cooking accessories
Maybe a bigger mat at the front entrance for walking boots but otherwise there was nothing I didn’t like

Great location in centre of the city so everything is walkable.
More cramped than the photos indicate ( you have to move the sofa to open the fridge door properly). Fridge inside was dirty, oven had dirty foil and trays in and black mold inside bedroom windows where we were staying with our toddler. This made us doubt how thorough a clean was actually done.
Only one parking pass was left and despite contacting them instantly was repeatedly just told over two days that there had been two passes left before having to pay out of pocket on day three. It’s now been three weeks from our stay and despite that same day being told they would reimburse the parking fee and repeatedly told when chasing that I was a priority I STILL have not been contacted by management.
Terrible customer service and it would seriously put me off using another property owned by host and stay.

It is in a great location in the heart of Whitby with easy access to sights
It was cute and cozy
I could feel the mattress springs in the bed on 1st floor. It would be good to put a new mattress in .
It would be great to add a washing machine for longer stays.

We really enjoyed our stay at Jet Cottage. The cottage was very well situated, in a private alleyway off a main street. It was a little difficult to find but was therefore lovely, quiet and private despite a very central location which was great. The hosts had made great use of space so that it was cosy but not at all cramped. Bedrooms spacious and the beds were so comfy too! Would stay again!

Location was good
Poor service from the Host and Stay. Never answered or rectified the issue regarding there not being a parking scratch card in the property as per our booking. Numerous emails and a couple of phone calls and not rectified. Cost an absolute fortune in parking during our stay. Dishwasher tablets left when there wasn’t a dishwasher. Carpets in the property and the bedroom furniture dry worn and need replacing

The cottage was beautiful and the location was perfect. We were in a quiet, peaceful area with a short walk to the swing bridge. The space was dog friendly which was perfect.
I did take us a little while to find the cottage, the maps on air bnb send you down a different street, might be worth noting that it is down a gated alley.
Overall a wonderful stay in a lovely area.

Location close to all local amenities and attractions . Surprisingly quiet
Odours due to sheltered location and lack of ventilation. Accepting the property is dog friendly and dogs have stayed, their smell was evident.

The location is superb, we were in the middle of everything and though when you were out on the street you could hear music, you couldn’t once inside. For what we paid I would expect the place to be spotless, but there was lots of old cobwebs and matter around furniture. The bathroom smells of mildew too. The owners had also turned off the fridge but not mentioned it, so we didn’t realise until half way through our trip.
I also received an odd voicemail and messages after we checked out accusing us of not leaving the key in the lock box. We did, and when I questioned it sounds like they hadn’t even been to the property to check, so felt like a chancer depending on what we said. They can take payment after the fact apparently even though there was a hidden damage warranty. All just a bit off. Take a video of the lockbox with the key inside if you decide to stay.

Visited Whitby for 2 night's and wanted a central venue to explore. Cottage small and comfortable for 2.
Would be passable for 4 people as 2 bedrooms but lounge area and kitchen very compact.
Quirky and lovely.
Directions to property very unclear. Vague at best. Even local parking enforcement officer couldn't assist! Had do use What3words app and scour the road to find the correct alleyway where the cottage was located, although appreciated didn't help that there was a large for sale sign on the gate.
Issue with parking as no scratchcard provided on arrival for local agreed parking on the listing (I did contact the host company and not delivered as promised) so needed to locate private parking which luckily had a 24hrs online payment option.
Mattresses poor quality and tried both. Reported average cleanliness in certain areas and disappointed that wasn't as expected for proce paid and additional £60 cleaning fee as we brought a dog.
All in all a nice venue but good have been better

Before the holiday the host asked for £25 extra to pay for breakage insurance. This was on their site but not in Airbnb costs and I hadn't noticed it so a surprise. Airbnb support said this was not enforceable and that host should have advised this before confirming the booking. I asked host to update their process so hopefully they have and nobody else is surprised by this. On arrival, the house smelt strongly of dog, the cutlery was dirty, one glass was broken, there was one other glass that was a pint glass and 3 wine glasses of various sizes - not enough for 4 people (we were only 2). Hosts replied to my email quickly. There were lots of mugs though! The stairs to the master bedroom are very steep so only for the brave and the fit - we slept in the second bedroom opposite the bathroom which was fine. The location was great, but note the gate from the street to the house has a for sale sign so difficult to access latch. This felt like it was run by a business (which it is).

The property is a lovely old cottage with modern facilities. The location is good for access to the town and parking isn't too far away (that's usually a big problem in Whitby).
The property had not been cleaned properly. One of the bedrooms was so dusty it was apparent it hadn't been cleaned in months. The bathroom tiled walls were covered in smears of some unidentifiable substance - possibly make-up. The shower tray was orange with residue. Kitchen tiled walls had food splatter and the cupboards had food residue inside and liquid splatter on the doors. Reported this and while the management company offered to come and clean we declined due to our stay only being 1 night. Thereafter the management company badgered me for comments on how they could improve their cleaning regime and to fill in a complaint form despite having received emails, photos and text messages with details of the problems. No offer of a partial refund for our inconvenience!

The location was perfect you couldn’t get better being in the centre. Bathroom and bedrooms clean.
When we arrived we hadn’t been given the code for the box where the key was kept, so we had to sit outside and wait for a long time until we finally got through to someone so they could send us the code.
I understand I booked the cottage knowing it was dog friendly but you could really smell dog when we arrived and there was still fur on the sofas and cushions. The beds were very uncomfortable and noisy(every time you turned over the bed made a horrendous squeak) it would be good to note for the top bedroom the stairs are extremely steep.

Good location
It was not the cleanest property, cobwebs, dusty corners, lever on tap in bathroom broken so every time you turned it to hot or cold it fell off, top of foot pedal of bin in bathroom broken off and was behind toilet on floor so obviously not cleaned behind toilet, furniture looked good but was not comfortable, fridge good size but no freezer box, ice cube tray left but no means of making ice cubes. I brought a freezer pack with me to take some fish and crabs back when going home but no means of keeping it frozen

Great location. Comfy beds and lounge. (Bed on 1st floor creeky. Dust behind bed on upper floor.) Equipment good. Hot water, good shower.
Thought we had the key box code which turned out it wasn't. At no point in all emails before arrival were we given the number. It was heavy rain and thunderstorm on arrival. Rang twice on the phone number given plus an email. Some time later we received a call with the correct code. Not a good start.
When advertising the cottage it should clearly state that the zone parking isn't outside the property but some distance away as we found out with a parking ticket , as did many other visitors to the street.

The Cottage was lovely however there are a few pointers for a very easy fix:
- Battery - None of the clocks worked, and neither did the fire remote.
- The fire was quite grubby, I could understand this if it was a real fine but its electric and would
really benefit from a good clean.
- Bathroom was quite dated and not the cleanest - cracked floor tiles and shower try showing its
age.
- Beds Due to previous comments I assumed that the squeaky bed would have been sorted,
however it had not (this makes me wonder if feedback means anything )
In addition to the above we did have to rush straight out n our arrival to buy essential previsions as these where not available: Tea, Coffee, Milk, Loo Roll. Every other Air BnB that I have stayed at has always left a welcome box.

Very close to the seafront and shops, the cottage is very cosy and the beds are great.
The shower is a accident waiting to happen as inside cubicle my partner nearly slipped twice as so slippy. The mugs in the kitchen was very tea stained had to wash and scrub them and 2 of the glasses was cracked which they should of been checked. We got confirmation with key code and departure time was 12 noon but on other details was 10am as a error on there side it should be about customer and given the 12 noon departure. Paying ther 25.00 damage beforehand should be paid back as obviously regarding glasses etc was not checked after previous holiday makers

Lovely cottage, great location, two minutes walk to the harbour yet still peaceful and quiet. Parking was as described so a short walk as expected. Cosy and warm throughout. We’d stay here again. The kitchen was short of a sponge or cloth for washing up and no tea towels either but there’s a decent supermarket five minutes walk away so easy to stock up on supplies generally.

Great little place in the heart of the town. Never more than 5 minutes from anywhere!
Warm and clean and comfy beds with nice amenities.
Only advisory would be for anyone with mobility issues the loft steps are quite steep and not the easiest to climb at times!
And there wasn’t a huge amount of essential add ons such as toilet paper or dishwashing equipment or oven gloves-we did get some and leave them but just as a future note for anyone who does stay.
Parking is available about a five minute walk away.
The guide provided is great and detailed. If out of hours it’s not the most responsive but they are very helpful!

Fabulous location in Whitby, nicely presented little cottage, made good use of compact space, everything we needed, neat decor and good base for a stay in the town; near to bars and cafés. Parking and WiFi welcome too.
Be aware of the additional charges for insurance. E-guide book is useful but has conflicting information on arrival and departure times. A few things broken or not working; front room light, door blind, window blinds. Wear and tear; could do with some maintenance and a deep clean.

On arrival we were given postcode to another Jet cottage that we tried code to get key but didnt work. Contacted agent who gave a different postcode. When i queried this he said it was the same location...but it wasnt. So didnt start our trip well hunting around whitby. Then into the cottage and our first impression walking in...very large stain on settee. Lots of mould around edges of shower. Toilet flush broken, resulting in having to take lid off citern and flush inside. Toilet smelt of urine on arrival. Stairs to top floor need to be pictured on website as very narrow and steep. However perfect location and with some TLC could be lovely

Just lovely and it was at the heart of Whitby with easy access to everything in walking distance - The cottage is just lovely and had everything you need for a short stay - the coffee machine was just excellent and my son was excited to climb the steps to the attic bedroom. Wifi was good and we enjoyed a movie night on the TV - if you like chinese food, you HAVE to try Whitby WOK on the sea front opposite the arcades.
The parking is obviously a problem in Whitby - so plan to park with the scratch card which is provided which is FREE - but plan to keep your car there as it is difficult to find an alternative spot. Whitby is hilly, so be prepared lots of walking in steep hills.

Jet Cottage was perfect for our needs. It's centrally located to get around Whitby's landmarks/shops/restaurants, to/from the train station, etc. We found it to be nicely appointed and a peaceful and relaxing space to spend a few days. It looks just as shown in the photos and was generally quite clean (other than a couple of cobwebs and some pet hair). We would suggest a couple of improvements - the bedrooms are lovely, but the mattresses aren't great and could use toppers if not replacement The bathroom shower is really nice, but there's nowhere to put soap, shampoo and such; a caddy that hangs on the shower head would be a simple and helpful solution. We'd go back in a heartbeat!

We liked the quaintness of the cottage setting.
The stairs to the attic bedroom, which were very steep and narrow, were unacceptable. A photo of these stairs is absent from the booking photographs, which must be deliberate. I have concern that the attic room actually fails the legal test for being referenced as a 'bedroom'. There is no safe means of escape from this space should there be a fire in the cottage and the stairs are not appropriate for such use.
The cottage was, in reality, much smaller than represented on the photographs and therefore didn't provide an accurate picture of what we were paying for.
There is no unloading or parking space nearby, so expect to carry your luggage for a long way. The free Parking Permit was pointless as you couldn't get parked up in the W Zone and this was a good walk away from the cottage in any event. Finding the cottage is challenging and is not clear on the booking details. It took us 15 minutes to establish where the cottage was whilst dragging around our luggage.
The Management company sent numerous email messages before and throughout our stay, reminding us to leave at 10am on our departure day. How could we ever forget?! Its frustrating to receive such constant contact, especially at 8am on the day of departure.

All was good with our stay at Jet Cottage, the home is exactly as described and was so well located for its location in Whitby, we were quite happy with the home. The host had clear instructions on how to find the narrow laneway. As for parking, we were provided with scratch cards so that we could park our car nearby in the correct zone for which the parking pass was applicable. In the event we couldn't find an available space to park the car, St. Hilda's Terrace park and display car park was a good option.

We arrived as two couples, assuming we’d paid for parking within the booking fee (specific permits are needed). One permit was left for only two days of our 5 night stay. This resulted in us not only having to pay extra for parking (15 minutes walk away), but also 2 parking fines. We had thought our permit covered 5 days, hence the first fine.
Meanwhile, we tried to buy permits from the host but they were the most unhelpful host we’ve ever had.
Had the parking situation been made clear in the first instance, we probably would have been okay with it, but because of the hosts complete and utter incompetence, they ruined our only vacation of the year.
It’s a shame, as the cottage itself is lovely (though much smaller than expected - again, rubbish communication!) and the location of it is perfect.
Make an informed decision before you choose to stay at Jet Cottage, don’t get caught out and have to chase the host for answers. You’ll get nowhere and be left frustrated!

It had a smart TV and free wifi. Good location as was in the centre.
Parking wasn't the best plus the directions they gave were awful, we actually had to ring the company to find where it was. Behind a cabinet there was someone else's bra, which showed they didnt hoover properly. In the top bedroom, the duvet and matress, were stained and looked like blood or ketchup stains were on it. Plus suspicious stains on the matress. Everywhere was dusty, duvets were too small for the duvet cover, radiator had stains on, microwave was rusty. Because of this I will be making a formal complaint.

This was our first visit to Whitby and the cottage is really central and well located so you can walk to everything. It’s a bit tricky to find as it’s up a small alley off Flowergate, but it’s lovely inside and has everything you need. The beds are very comfortable, the shower is good and you can see the sea from the top bedroom! The downstairs kitchen/sitting room is small but cosy and was absolutely fine for the 3 of us - plus the dog, who had the best time! We loved the walks, the beaches, the shops, the pubs and fish and chips from Magpies! Parking was pretty busy, even in February, but the vouchers given worked well. Some more glasses especially water/juice glasses would be useful. Looking forward to a return visit soon, thank you for a great few days!

We arrived to a beautiful cottage that was exactly as the pictures and perfectly situated for everything. It was a little hard to find but following the instructions we managed to find it tucked away down a small alley called a yard. The parking scratch card was invaluable and even though we couldn’t park as close as we liked the 5 minute walk was pleasant. We felt immediately at home and my daughter who’s birthday we were celebrating was happy to stay in the cottage in the evening so that’s what we did. We are looking to book again soon when the season is fully open

This place is a hidden gem! It is a little bit hard to find at first - you will definitely need their instructions to find it. The place itself was lovely - it had all of the amenities needed to have a lovely weekend. Everything in Whitby is within walking distance and the welcome guide the sent through was really helpful!

location was excellent
it could have been cleaner. lots of dust behind the headboard and the upstairs bedding smelt foisty although it was white and looked clean.

A lovely cottage in the centre of Whitby. It’s a bit difficult if you travel by car as you need to drop your things off then find a place to park according the the guide provided. But once you find a space it’s only a very short walk. The place was very clean, and we had a nice view of the sea from the top bedroom! Very responsive and informative hosts.

The cottage was lovely and clean and in a great location. Perfect for a couple with a dog. I was really disappointed that we weren’t able to turn on the fireplace as this is one of the main reasons I booked this property. There were no obvious switches or controls and no instructions in the welcome book. I contacted Host & Stay 3 times to ask how to use it and was met with automated responses ignoring my question each time which was frustrating. Other than that it was perfect and I’d recommend!

Great location, if you arrive by train and in summer.
Dark unlit alleyway, difficult to find in the rain. Alleyway sign difficult to see and poorly light from the street. It's not just this property but the whole area will be difficult to find parking slots. There should be a clear warning, don't come by car. No heating on arrival. Disappointed with Booking.com not pointing out you committed to paying a deposit immediately due to short booking time and having to accept T&C with a 3rd party called ''Superhog.com'' and admin fee for the pleasure of processing you card.

Jett Cottage is exactly as described and pictured. It's a small property but this just makes it all the more cosy and quaint. The decor is really homely and the location of the property is amazing, right in the centre of everything. Being set back off the road means its still quiet and cosy. The property was clean and had everything you might need for a break away.

Fabulous location and very quaint cottage with everything one could need. WiFi excellent.
The beds were way too soft and saggy for us. They just need new firm mattresses and the place will be perfect.

What a fantastic quaint cottage in a perfect location in the centre of Whitby. We had a fantastic stay and would recommend this property to anyone as the finish is of the highest quality with all mod cons. Grab W parking in Flowergate if you can then your only minutes walk to the cottage with cases. Will definitely be back next year.

Absolutely cannot fault this cottage. The location is ideal. Hidden away from the hustle and bustle but so close to the centre of Whitby. Surrounded by gorgeous shops and a brilliant pub called “The little angel”. The cottage was clean and the beds were super comfortable. The second bedroom has VERY steep stairs so bare that in mind but was a wonderful sea view from the window. Comfortable temperature in the cottage and the sun beam doesn’t heat the building up as it’s tucked down an alley way. Great amenities in the cottage and quiet at night. We would definitely come back and stay here again. Made our first visit to Whitby wry special.

The cottage was perfect for our 3 day break. Great location. Comfy and cosy cottage with everything we required. Our 5 and 3 year olds loved it too. Great information from the host for arrival and departure and the info/guide app was brilliant. We would definitely return here for our next trip to Whitby.

Great location- easy access to the town and restaurants. Accommodation was great (tv Ariel didn’t work so could only log into BBC I played). Apart from that just perfect.
Parking- little stressful on arrival when couldn’t find a space nearby. More spaces available later in the days the designated parking zones

Parking is an issue, scratch cards are provided for parking in w zones however in the description of the property it would lead you to believe that parking is guaranteed. This is not the case and after a fair amount of driving around in the summer holidays we happened to find a space. This then meant however that we felt we were unable to move the car during the duration of our stay as we were concerned we would not be able to get a space when arriving back. A walk to and from the car is a definite parking is not available next to the property. Secondly we felt our stay was tarnished by work being done outside the house (not the main hightstreet, in the actual alleyway outside the front door) starting every day at 7:30am this was not light building work but stillsaws/hammering general banging. No fault of the builders as they are doing the work they are hired for however this was right outside the front door of the property and the noise inside the house is at times like they are with you there. We felt awkward when leaving and coming back to the property as they would need to stop what they were doing and lay temporary planks to cover the trenches/holes they had dug for us to cross over. Had we been made aware of this work we would probably have decided to stay somewhere else. Thus work started on the first day and did not stop when we left again making it very awkward for everyone when they are trying to work and we are trying to load a car parked 5 minutes away continuously having to excuse ourselves to come past (we should not have to feel badly when we are paying guests). Lastly on noise the house has very thin walls you can hear the neighbours/ people passing by. Blinds would need to be shut to provide privacy and this included the bathroom.

Great little cottage in ideal central location... sadly our stay was spoilt having been given the wrong parking scratch card by the host, whilst admitting it was their error they refused to cover the cost of the parking ticket.. Please read the small print on the parking scratch card to make sure it covers your length of stay..

We had a really enjoyable stay at Jet Cottage. The location is fantastic - just a couple of minutes walk from the sights of the harbour while tucked away in a quiet courtyard. The welcome information was excellent and had some very useful recommendations for local cafes. Thank you!

Jet cottage is a really nice place to stay for a couple/2 couples or a few friends. Personally I wouldn’t go back with my family just due to the size of the property. It’s small, unfortunately my experience wasn’t the best when it came to parking with a little family, there are loading bays and an area you can park to take all your luggage in but then expect to park about 5-10 mins from the property and walk back). As far as comfort goes, the top bedroom expect a steep climb up and down the steps.
I expected a nicer bed to sleep in to be honest for the price we paid.
It was extremely clean and close to everything we wanted to do. I think there’s definitely improvements to be made but it was a really nice place as far as how clean and modern it is.

Although hard to initially find as its tucked down a side street and there is only a small gate in between 2 shops to access it, once we got in it was a lovely quaint little cottage that made you feel hundreds of miles away from the hustle and bustle of Whitby. The online pictures are ever so slightly stretched making it appear a bit bigger than it is, but this isn't really a problem.
The property was clean and had everything we needed for our stay including tea and coffee and even a small bottle of milk on arrival.

We really enjoyed our stay at Jet Cottage. It was in a great location and really easy to walk onto West Cliff and the town Centre. The parking is about 5 minutes away from the house walking so I’d suggest getting a loading bay when you arrive by the charity shop to easily unpack everything

A wonderful place to stay in Whitby! This gorgeous cottage is tucked away down a little street so although it is right in the centre of town, you get very little noise. The cottage was decorated stylishly, and although it was petite, there is still room for our 6ft guest to stand! The top room offers a glimpse of the sea. The house was well stocked. The hosts were quick to respond to all of our queries and they had put careful thought in how to safely manage the virus. I would highly recommend.
