It was a fantastic stay in Artenara. Juan was a great host and was very responsive with communication and quick to resolve any issues. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean and the terrace has great views of the surrounding mountains! It is a very tranquil and spectacular location, far away from any tourist areas. Bear in mind that local eateries in the area close early, but a nice short walk to the local supermarkets in the village. Juan does a great job to provide local recommendations for food and hiking. Highly recommended if you want to get away and stay in a quiet place to either work remotely and/or simply relax.

Perfect stay! The pictures do not do justice to the amazing view from the terrace. If you like peace and nature, this place is perfect for you. The accommodation is superbly equipped, the terrace has a large table, lounge chairs and even an outdoor sofa that will allow you to enjoy the view no matter the time of day or the weather. The kitchen has everything you may need, all the way to the tongs to close the food packets, it illustrates the care with which Juan thought of these accommodations. The bedding is comfortable. I can only recommend this magical place!

We loved the space and the village. The house was in order and impeccably clean. It is small but has what you need and its strong point is the terrace with a spectacular view. The hosts respond quickly and are friendly (we had been warned to be careful with the curves of the road). If you are looking for something quiet submerged in the wilderness and don't be afraid of the curves, 100% recommended. The village itself is a sweetheart.

We loved our stay at the Cave house at Artenara. The location is amazing and we spent a lot of time on the terrace looking at the view across the valley. We spent the rest of the week trail running and cycling, all the runs we did were straight out of the door onto some great trails, and the same with the cycling you are straight out onto amazing roads in all directions. The cave was very clean and had all we needed and is very quite at night, the bed is comfortable and the shower is excellent. All the instructions for getting accessing the cave on arrival were very good and the little video to help you find the location was invaluable on the drive in.

Everything was wonderful! The apartment was the same as the photos, the view is amazing with sun from morning to night. The instructions to reach the apartment were very clear which removes the little stress you can have when traveling… The place was super quiet. Perfect 🌞🌸

Comfortable cave with a beautiful view to Roque Nublo and other mountains. Very responsive, professional and friendly host. During cloud-free nights one has a great view from the terrace to the stars. Lots of hiking routes are nearby. A rental car is advantages.

I had a great stay here! This is truly a cave, but with all amenities you need and a small kitchen. It is the perfect place to wind down and relax. The view from the terrace is simply breathtaking, and you can enjoy the sunsets with the Tenerife mountain in the distance. Artenara itself has a couple of restaurants, so you won’t need to cook anyway. There are plenty of hiking tracks around to get active too. Definitely on my shortlist for next year’s winter getaway.

An excellent Airbnb in the highest village/town in Gran Canaria. Served as the perfect base for hiking and trail running around the island's amazing trails. A surprisingly well equipped mini kitchen allowed us to prepare simple meals (not a huge range of food/drink options in the area). The drive up is a little challenging, but managable (and worth it for the views). Juan was a great host, and super responsive. Would return again!

We have spent four nights in Artenara and we really enjoyed our stay. The cave house was perfect for us. It was quiet and super clean. The view from the terrace is absolutely breathtaking. The bed was super comfortable. The kitchen was equipped with all the basics we needed. The shower was the best shower we've had in Gran Canaria so far. Everything was well thought through and the experience of sleeping in a cave in the mountain was extraordinary. Make sure to visit the museum next door to get some historical context on these houses! Artenara is cute and has everything you need, including restaurants, shops, etc. Juan was a great host, he replied quickly to all our questions and we felt well taken care of. The area is perfect if you enjoy nature and hiking. The landscape and the surroundings are one of a kind and there's much to explore. We can highly recommend this place and would visit again.

We had a great time in the cavehouse! It is exactly as shown in the pictures. The view from the big terrace is breathtaking. The cavehouse itself is clean and comfortabele, the kitchen and the bathroom are nice and well equiped. Definetely the most authentic apartment we ever stayed in. There is a nice small restaurant nearby, maybe a 2 minute walk, which offers local food produced with local products (also vega/vegan, which we loved) And a nice bar across the street. Also two supermarkets in walking distance and various viewpoints which offer a great view on the mountains and villages. The owners of the cavehouse are very kind and easy to comminicate with. Highly recommended.

A fantastic spot for keen trail runners and hikers - we loved being able to hit the trails right from the doorstep. Breathtaking views from the terrace, and the cave has everything you need to stay warm and cosy in the evenings. It’s clean, and although the kitchen is small it’s got all you need to cook meals. Artenara is a sweet, quiet town (perfect for people like us who don’t like crowds!) with a Spar that has all the basics. Our check in instructions were super easy and clear. For trail lovers - two of our favourites were an out-and-back route from the house to Tejeda, via Cruz de Tejeda, which is about 20kms. Another is from the house all the way to Puerto de las Nieves at the coast. Again about 20kms. Stunning trails. We got a taxi back. Can’t wait to come back to Artenara!

We really enjoyed our stay due to the beautiful views, directly outside the cave. The location is in a quiet little town, that does have a supermarket and few bars. It’s a good working from home location for one person, WiFi/internet is very fast. The interior is a little dated and basic.

We had an amazing week here. The cave is comfortable and very well maintained. The host equipped it very thoughtfully so everything feels comfortable just like home. The kitchen has a lot of utensils and doesn't miss anything. With the breathtaking views, the peace and quiet, Artenara village seems like living on top of the world. Also, many of the hiking trails from Gran Canaria are close to this place, so this is a very good choice if you plan to hike during your stay.

This place is a heaven on earth. The apartment is in the village on Artenara, surrounded by beautiful mountains. The view is just magnificent, the area is so peaceful, the house has everything you need. Juan was an amazing host, very responsive and he went out of his way to help us with anything we needed. Perfect view in the mountains. Accomodation was clean and tidy. Host has put effort on communication. Grocery store and few restaurants near. Hiking possibilities. Only minus that it's far away it need to be driven in small roads. But beatiful place for those who want nature and peace.

The Living Artenara accommodation was great. The place has one of the best views over the beautiful hills, plenty of hiking options around and the cave house had everything you need for a comfortable period of remote working with a spectacular view. We could have stayed here much longer than 4 days! Great experience, excellent communication, had everything needed, THE VIEW IS FANTASTIC and the terrace private, practical standing desk, fast Wi-Fi, thoughtful details to make it a great stay. Easy parking, cute town, close to hiking. We wanted to be close to nature and hiking, and not in a touristy area. You get all that by driving a lot on curvy roads in the mountains! Easy to “escape” toward south in case of rain/ fog/ clouds. Artenara seems to be just on the border between the dry south and the wetter north.

Artenara is a lovely village in a spectacular location, we were here at the end of January and had mixed weather but despite it being cold and wet outside for a few days, the house was comfortable, stayed warm and we had everything we needed. There are many options for walking from the house with many more amazing walks close by. It's a perfect place for outdoor activities. The cooking facilities are basic in the house but everything is there which was good as the village restaurants/cafes all closed by 5 or 6pm at this time of year. Recommended for outdoor lovers as a perfect base for exploring. We loved it and would definitely go back.

Beautiful scenery and far away from the crowds. We used it as a base for hiking, for which it is fantastic. Note that the town slows down in the off-season. Enjoying the sunset from the terrace after a good days hike is worth it all.

We had a very nice time in the cave house in Artenara. The location (Artenara) is really great for trips to Tejeda, Tamadaba, Roque Nublo, and much more. the accommodation has everything you could think of, even a juicer for freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast on the terrace with a magnificent view. We really recommend the place. Juan and Pepe are both super nice and helpful too! :)

Highly recommended: I booked this place to have at least for three weeks another remote work experience than the one from my living room. So I actually worked and hiked staying in cave 1 at Living Artenara. For me it was a perfect stay. Juan is a kind, mindful host with great communication skills. The view from the terrace was stunning and the remoteness for me the perfect pic. For the ones who also want to work there, my wlan connection was working flawless, I could host workshops and work with my clients without any problems. Artenara is a beautiful and very quite village with a very delicious bio creperia I recommend you to visit. If you are a beach person and you do not like to drive a lot of slopes, this place is probably not the right one for you ;-) But if you like to work and sleep in a cave, go for awesome hikes or walks and have the most beautiful view over the mountains then you should stay at Living Artenara.

We spent three lovely days in Artenara. The location is perfect to do some hiking. The cave-house is very cosy and offers an impressive view over the valley (you can even see Roque Nublo). Communication was quick and easy. There is all you need up there!

It was just a dream! The view was unbelievable and we had the most amazing sunny breakfasts on the terrace. Everything was brand new and clean. Juan was super responsive and helpful!! Also the village is really cute with a Spar for shopping just around the corner. Parking also worked right in front of the door :) we went there for hiking and it could not have been any better!
