You'll love the spacious and bright interior with floor to ceiling windows, allowing for stunning views of the surrounding nature. And with an open kitchen featuring a convenient island, cooking will be a breeze for everyone. Cozy up by the gas fireplace on chilly nights, or admire the grandeur of the cathedral ceilings. And for the kids, there's a fun and playful loft area that's sure to keep them entertained. Join them in the loft in the evening for a cozy movie night in front of the large Smart TV.

Here are just a few of the outdoor highlights: a spacious deck to soak up the sun, a cozy firepit for evening gatherings, and a comfortable outdoor living room to relax and take in the sights and sounds. Don't forget to fire up the propane BBQ for a delicious meal at the iron dining table. And for those chillier nights, head to the screened porch with heated floors for a warm and inviting dining experience. Plus, you'll enjoy the privacy of this lot, which backs onto a protected forested area in the charming village.
And now, the star of the space — a brand-new sauna with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the surrounding nature and treed backyard. It’s the perfect place to warm up, unwind, and enjoy peaceful views in every season.
NOTE: Lake access is a few minutes walk on Tuyll street. The lakebed can be sandy or stoney depending on what the lake gives you that day. But it sure is fun to try to find the ever changing sandbars. Generally you will find sand 3ft out. It's fun to go stone collecting - Lake Huron is a geologists paradise! Just bring some water shoes. The nice thing is, it's not weedy or slimy at all.
Max 1 well behaved dog is allowed but must sign separate pet addendum
Parking is limited to 3 vehicles
Linens are available for $20/per person. This includes Tea Towels, Dishcloths, Sheets & Pillowcases, Bathroom towels, Hand towels and Face cloths. Does not include Beach Towels.
All Guests are required to sign a separate cottage rental agreement and provide government issued photo id. Including names and ages of all guests who will occupy the property. Primary renter must be over 25 photo id is required. Only those occupants listed on the Rental Agreement, are allowed to occupy the property. A separate security deposit of $500 is required. Max occupancy at all times is 8 (6 Adults), violation will result in removal without refund.
Our Winter Weather Cancellation Policy is designed with your safety in mind. If winter conditions make travel unsafe or if there are road closures preventing you from reaching the cottage, you have flexible options:
❄ Delay Your Arrival – If the cottage is available, you can shift your stay by a day or two.
❄ Reschedule – Move your booking to a future date that works for you.
❄ Full Refund – If rescheduling isn’t possible, you can cancel for a full refund.

I'm Jennifer, I started CottageStays to share my own home with like-minded travelers who appreciate escaping to life at a slower pace. I've never forgotten how lucky I am to call Lake Huron home. Now more than ever, everyone is in need of the kind of peace and quiet that escaping to the lake can bring. It's my absolute privilege to be the one to provide families and friends a special place to gather and create memories while exploring an area so near and dear to me.
We keep our cleaning fees low by giving you the option to bring your own linens—or, for $20/person. you can rent ours! This includes sheets, pillowcases, bathroom towels, and more, all freshly laundered and ready for you. (Just remember to bring your own beach towels!)
You are required to sign a separate cottage rental agreement and provide government issued photo id. Including names and ages of all guests who will occupy the property. Primary renter must be over 25 photo id is required. Only those occupants listed on the Rental Agreement, are allowed to occupy the property. A separate security deposit of $500 is required. Parties and large gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited. This property is equipped with a monitoring device (including noise, temp & wifi connections & may have camera's outside at the entrance). Any house rules violation is grounds for immediate termination of your stay without refundMax occupancy at all times is 8 (6 Adults)

we loved our stay at Poplar woods. the backyard with trees is so peaceful. there house has everything and feeling completely new. the area is excellent - not overwhelmed by tourist yet full of nice restaurants, beautiful marina and beach, variety of parks to visit.

Jen’s place was super cozy and the property left us feeling amazed. Stunning windows and high ceilings paired with a private backyard. We do wish the beddings and linens were included but Jen was very responsive and tried to work with us. 10/10 would recommend. Plus would prefer the location over something in grand bend. Very close by to important amenities like grocery store, convenience store and LCBO.
