Very beautiful and historic apartment. Even better than in the pictures! It is an experience to stay at there. Location also very central but calm and relaxing after long days in Fes. Only bathroom sealing is very low (so hair washing is a task). We felt very much sheltered in the appartment. Would highly recommend.

The accommodation is perfectly located. Clean and welcoming. 2 points, however, deserve to be highlighted: - The neighbors upstairs make a hell of a noise from 7 a.m. - The bathroom and kitchen have ceilings so low that it is not possible to stand there if you are 180 cm or taller. It's very unpleasant when you have a fragile back like mine.

Suzanna’s apartment was fantastic. Very well located, easy to reach by car with convenient parking nearby. In the immediate surroundings there are several restaurants, and at night it is very quiet. The apartment is equipped with everything you need – and more. Even with my 199 cm height I could only enter the bathroom slightly bent, but it was absolutely no problem for me. If we come to Fes again, we will definitely try to stay with Suzanna once more. Thx for having us!

Suzanna's apartment was in a great location (8 min walk from the Blue Gate) and was very clean. The main bedroom did not have AC which was not openly listed, but we asked for an extra fan and Suzanna was responsive and sent it the next day with Jamila. Jamila was helpful in finding the airbnb and explaining instructions. Overall a great stay in Fes and I would highly recommend!

We had a very pleasant stay at Suzanna's place. The apartment is very nice and very comfortable (except for the low ceiling in the bathroom but that's mentioned in the ad so we expected it). It's well located and we were able to find a parking space close to the apartment easily. We'd definitely recommend this place!

Very nice apartment in a peaceful setting, very close to the main roads of the medina but quiet. Simple decor with apartment with old charm, zellige, Boiserie etc. The only problem is the very low ceiling bathroom but it's not a real problem given the time we spend there! a magnificent stay in Fez

I really liked Suzanna's place. It is not the heart of the medina which in my opinion was perfect for us. There are restaurants nearby and the best restaurants in our opinion were maximum 10 mins walk. We cooked too and everything was functional. For us it was the ideal apartment, on the other hand the bathroom ceiling is very low so for people of 6 feet it can be a negative point.

Ver y nice and cosy flat in the heart of Fez, just outside the Medina, 4min waking from main entrance. Very quite surroundings. We rented the flat just the night before and the acces was fast and very flexible. Access to the flat very easy and the flat itself like an oasis inside Fez. Wonderful living room with comfortable sofas, TV, etc.. Kitchen with all necesssary equipment and a big fride although we almost did not use them. Both sleeping rooms are big with comfortable beds and wardrobe if needed. The bathroom very nice and cosy. Only "negative" aspect is that the bathroom has very low ceiling and for tall people can be a little bit unconfortable to shower or make-up. In summary, perfect accomodation to stay a view days in the heart of Fez but with possibilty to relax and disconect in this oasis of peace near the Medina.

The apartment is clean and beautifully furnished and is located about on the 2nd floor. The staircase is narrowly steep and winding. The kitchen and the large bedroom have no window and the bathroom only has a tiny window. The kitchen and bathroom have a low ceiling height of about 1.70 meters. The large bedroom has a beautiful old painted high ceiling and 2 windows and a door to the hallway. The living room and dining area are cozy with a balcony.

The location of the apartment is great for visiting the medina. Suzanna responds quickly. The only downside the apartment is a little dark and he had remodelacion work just behind so one he had a little noise at the time of my daughter's nap but otherwise at night we sleep very well.

Had a great stay in this characterful apartment just outside the medina. Suzanna was quick to respond to any questions and arranged for a driver to pick us up from the airport and drive us straight to the apartment. We were met by her agent who helped us with our luggage down the alley and up two flights of stairs and gave us a brief guide to the apartment. The apartment is really comfortable, spacious and beautifully furnished and decorated. It’s also extremely well equipped. From the apartment we were able to walk to explore all areas of the city. There are lots of small local shops and restaurants nearby. We also contacted our airport driver to arrange a wonderful day trip into the Middle Atlas Mountains.

The apartment is exactly as the pictures, really nice and natural light comes in. Suzanna was very responsive to all the questions. The only thing was that the internet wasn’t working properly, it might be due to the fact that the connectivity in the Medina is not best.

The apartment is beautifully appointed with wonderful balconies and terrace. The kitchen is well stocked. You’ll need to keep your head down while in the bathroom, but it’s not too much trouble for the charm. The location to the Medina is fantastic.

Suzanna’s place is charming and in very good taste. The apartment had everything we needed and is a very convenient location just on the edge of the medina so very easy access for a car and the roads in and out of Fez, as well as for walking into the medina. The terrace is a very nice place for morning coffee. We very much enjoyed our stay.

This place is a destination by itself! My only regret is that we didn’t book more days so we can enjoy it more. Beautifuly and tastefully decorated, calm and peacfull energy, amazing bedroom with a very comfortable bed, fully equiped kitchen.. Yes, the bathroom celing is veeeey low (my partner had to bend inside), but we didn’t mind that at all. Our 2 year old daughter also loved the place, lots of corners to explore, and also they have a great selection of childrens books, crayons and stuff like that, so that was a big big plus! To be noted, there is a shcool in front of the balcony and some times during the day you can hear the children playing or singing so if you don’t like childrens sounds, then you should think twice about booking. We found it cute and endearing, we didn’t mind hearing happy children.. Overall this was the best appartment we’ve stayed in in Morocco so far.

Great stay booked at short notice. Handy for the Medina but it is tucked away in a back alley so make sure you have a torch and google maps. Very quiet and fabulous decoration.

The location is very interesting: easily accessible from outside the medina, close to shops, the 2 main streets of the medina. The apartment is quiet with a relatively unobstructed view that contrasts in appearance with the first impression of the neighborhood. It is very clean, pleasantly decorated. It feels comfortable. The most recessed point is the bathroom with a reduced ceiling height (1.70 m I would say) and the reduced speed. But it's part of the charm of the apartment that comes out of the ordinary because of its structuring with two beautiful bedrooms. Very easy communication with hosts

Its a tricky review because its based on personal taste, Personally staying in the medina is not my cup of tea , there were many kids out side making me feel like atm and not comfortable . Felt intrusive, The house is sweet, didn’t had a soul in my eyes , its just since it became management companies running it like a hotel, it lack the personal touch.

We just loved this charming apartment - beautifully appointed and very comfortable. We visited in winter - passing a rainy day there - and it was warm and cosy. The location is great, near a main gate to the median but Nitin the medina, and the staff who helped us check in named Samira even went out of her way to help us order some dinner in since we arrived late evening with young kids. We wish we had stayed longer just to enjoy the atmosphere a bit longer. It’s a place one feels at home immediately and makes you really part of the vibrant rich cultural city of Fez. Thanks so much for a very special stay!

Samia was there waiting to take us to the place. The problem were that the stairs that you had to use to get to the place were narrow and steep with high steps, poor lighting. Guests with suitcases can not easily climb up . Samia was kind enough to help us with our suitcases as our driver too. If I had known about the stairs I would not have rented the space. All other things were excellent.

We felt extremely comfortable in the apartment. The kitchen is super equipped, the apartment is tastefully decorated and in the evening it is wonderfully quiet. We would definitely come back! The room with the two single beds is tiny optimization. The mattresses are really hard.

This place was great. It matched the pictures exactly. Very comfortable yet has the charm of a traditional Moroccan home. The hosts were super responsive and even sent someone over to change the bedding mid-stay when my son had an accident. Also, lots of information about local restaurants, etc. Tip: I recommend asking the host to organize a taxi directly to the apartment.

Travelled to Fes with my family of 5 (all adults). Our stay at Suzanna’s was wonderful. Beautiful place and great central location. The ceiling in the bathroom was low and we knew this going in so it was not a problem. Lots of space in the apartment and the kitchen was clean and well stocked. Would recommend!

Very welcoming young lady to greet us and took the time to explain how things worked in the house. We liked that the place is very practical and uncluttered. The low ceilings (kitchen & bathroom) were not a problem for our family. Yes the mattresses are hard, which is our preference. It’s important to note that the air conditioning unit in the one bedroom and the living-room worked well during our stay. Thank you Suzanne for your hospitality and to your staff for a great stay.

Plenty of hot water for two people. Ceiling in the shower area is very low. I am a very short person, and even at that I felt the ceiling is right above me. Tall people say over 5’5” maybe have to hunch a little. The apartment is very clean. Also very quiet at night. We have no problem sleeping at night and we cannot hear the noise coming from the outside. We cooked while in Fez and the kitchen is fully equipment for us to make simple pasta dish for two nights. The kitchen is also very clean. Supposedly you need the owner’s permission to use to washing machine which is in a small closet located up in the terrace-floor and you have to go up flights of narrow spiral stairs to get to it. I don’t see a dryer unit but hang dry clothes is not a problem. We made that agreement before confirming the reservation but during check in his assistant Samia had to call the owner to verify again.

Really enjoyed our Airbnb in Fes. In a great location right by the Medina so we walked everywhere. The place is exactly how the pictures look and was very clean and well decorated. Good value for money. The WiFi was slow when we were there but Suzanna responded quickly to our messages. Note the bathroom ceilings are low if you are tall. Would definitely recommend.

This apartment is truly special. It's nicely and tastefully furnished, well located, very clean and very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils for an evening when one might want to cook instead of go out. Communication with the host was excellent. I've rented several apartments and homes through AirBnB over the past few years. This is definitely among the best.

Centrally located, yet away from bustle and noise. A great place from which to learn about the old city and the culture. Spacious and light. Note bathroom ceiling height limited. I am 5’10” and it was workable, but for someone taller it might be a problem.

This home was clean and beautiful. The living room during the day was the most relaxing place we encountered during our entire Morocco trip. The way the sun lights up the entire room and the comfortable furniture made us debate staying in the entire time instead of exploring the city. The location was perfect as it's right next to the Medina but not inside of it. This made it easier to find and not as hectic during the day and night. It's also close to a lot of delicious restaurants, street food, and convenience stores. The only negative thing about the apartment is that the bathroom and kitchen ceiling are very short. Luckily my entire group was under 5'5. If you're any taller than that though, I think taking a shower and going to the kitchen could be slightly uncomfortable. Other than that, all the other rooms have normal heighted ceilings. That's just the style of the home and nothing can be done about it. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here during their time in Fes.

Lumiere is a wonderful light filled spacious apartment at the edge of the Fes Medina. The perfect location 5 minutes walk from the busy Medina in a straight line. Everything is at your doorstep but you can relax in this wonderful quiet space after the hustle and bustle of the Medina, which you won’t fully appreciate till you have been here. The decor is traditional but with most of the mod cons.

Having come to Fes for 7 years , each time for a 6 week stint to study Arabic, I have to say Dar Lumiere is the best place I have lived in thus far. The light in the apartment is incredible and the layout on one level is fantastic. Everything in the apartment itself is beautiful. Suzanna is a phenomenal host, super responsive and extremely helpful regarding any queries. Definitely the place for me here on out in Fes in sha Allah!

Susanna's place is beautiful. Great location and at the same time very quiet. A few seconds away you can reach the characteristic bars and the center. A perfect spot for exploring Fes. The apartment is lovely and homely and very well priced for what is on offer. The main bedroom is large with a very comfortable double bed and a wondrous ceiling - you know you are in Morocco every morning that you wake up! The apartment is located just a short walk from the Blue Gate and away from the hustle and bustle but close enough for easy access to the Medina. I thought it was a perfect spot for exploring Fes without getting overwhelmed or lost and it was a restful respite from the city. I would be aware that to get up to the apartment you must take a narrow stair passage with rather high steps to the 2nd floor. The bathroom height might be a challenge for someone taller and the kitchen ceiling is also low but the size of this light and airy apartment with a number of balconies, makes up for that. The added bonus here is Suzanna, with her expert knowledge of Fes and Morocco. Although not on site, Suzanna was in continual communication with us long before and during our stay and was instrumental in providing transfers, an excellent guide and a driver and vehicle to assist our stay and onward travels. Her responses were speedy, insightful and helpful. Youssef’s office is just around the corner and I also found his staff to be most friendly and willing to be of assistance. Asmae was especially helpful. This apartment was part of our journey into the world of Morocco and I was really glad to have found it. Nathan and Janet

We had a wonderful experience! The riad is centrally located between two gates into and out of the Médina as well as to the center. The apartment is spotless, spacious, and superb! The hosts assisted us with all our needs outside the apartment as well (day trips, taxis, etc). Definitely book this apartment/riad if you’re lookin for a clean, quiet space of your own.

This home is in a great, quiet location. A short walk from this apartment will take you to the historic Blue Gate of the Medina of Fez. From there you can easily work your way downhill through the maze of open markets, shops and mosques and then return by taxi to At el Batha Square where you began. Michelle at Plan-it Fez is a great host and a great resource for adventures tours and workshops and retreats during your stay in Fez. The kitchen is clean, well stocked and a pleasure to cook in.

We loved our stay at Apartment Illumier! It was perfectly placed next to the Medina in Fes, was beautifully decorated in a wonderful Moroccan style, had 3 beautiful balconies where you could sit and enjoy the view and take your morning coffee. The beds were comfortable, the main room had a magnificently carved ceiling which was so beautiful to wake up to. All in all our stay was wonderful. The check in process on our arrival was smooth and hassle free and Suzannas communication faultless. Highly recommended for your stay in Fes.

Really enjoyed our stay. Great apartment and useful amenities such as a well equipped kitchen, stereo, bathroom amenities etc. The place was really clean and we loved the style. We were helped to organise a tour day and the hosting at the start, end and throughout was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and come back.
