I've stayed at a few places on my current trip and Silvia & Greg's place has been the best by far. Incredible attention to detail and great care has gone into curating a seamless and enjoyable experience. Their digital guide was extremely helpful and has you feeling right at home immediately. A very quiet, serene and secure location. It feels like a small oasis in the middle of Cozumel. I'll absolutely stay here again on my next visit. Thank you for everything!

Fantastic place to stay. Clean, comfortable, quiet, and a great location. Three blocks to the water and downtown area. Or two blocks the other direction with a whole bunch of restaurants to choose from without the inflated prices. Can’t go wrong choosing Stingray Villa for your next accommodation while on Cozumel. Great studio! Super convenient location - very walkable to downtown. Didn’t need a taxi outside of getting to the marina to dive. Check in and out was easy, the place was just as described and was super tidy. Comfy bed and good water pressure. Plenty of drinkable water provided as well. We had a wonderful stay at Silvia & Greg's place. We only met Greg and he was such a fun guy, we enjoyed having a chinwag with him. The apartment was super spacious, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The pool was fabulous and it was kept pristine. Location wise was perfect, walking distance to all the bars and restaurants as well as the waterfront. Overall this was the best Airbnb we have ever stayed in and we recommend it 100%!

This is a great little studio! So clean and roomy. Huge comfortable bed and pillows. Cold ac, great coffee, small fridge and plenty of water. Lovely balcony to sit in the mornings and evenings. Pool was clean and refreshing. It’s very well decorated and on a quiet corner (for Cozumel) but only 3 blocks in any direction for amazing restaurants. Really a perfect place for 1 or 2 people. And now you can use the Eiby app to have a taxi pick you up right at the door. Great stay, will be back.

At arrival just closing the curtains a dead insect fell, I think it was a roach, my host said it was not. There was another next to the safe inside the wardrobe, the response was "you couldn't expect not to find those, this is the Carribbean/tropics" something like that, and honestly if I was just getting there it should have been cleaned from those dead insects/animals. After that encounter I didn't experienced any other but it definitely kept me on my toes the rest of my stay. They are always responsive. The place could use a body wash, salt and a base to put dishes once have been washed but all in all it was not absolutely necessary. The handbook they create is super useful!

Staying at Stingray Villa was an amazing experience!! Just the peace and quiet we were hoping for! Location was very walkable and convenient. Host had wealth of knowledge on scuba diving and it was great talking to them and getting recommendations, as we were there in Cozumel for scuba diving as well :) We will definitely comeback and stay there again!

We had a very nice stay. The reception was immediately nice and friendly with a physical encounter instead of the lockboxes you see more and more often. Furthermore, we received good tips on what to do in Cozumel. The fully furnished apartment was also clean and spacious and is located in a quiet place within walking distance of the city center. The only improvement would be comfortable sunbeds by the swimming pool as far as we are concerned (even though the space for sunbeds may be somewhat limited). In short, highly recommended if you are in Cozumel!

We had a lovely stay at Silvia and Greg's Villa. The location is great. In a quiet corner and yet a 5-minute walk to restaurants and shops. Also, about a 10-minute walk to the ferry and very close to scuba diving centers. The room is spacious and has everything we needed. The pool area of the Villa was inviting and we would have liked to enjoy it but the weather was not on our side to do so. Silvia and Greg have prepared a traveler's guide that contains all the useful information to properly prepare for the trip. This guide is sent to us a few days before check-in. Check-in and checkout are more or less flexible as you need to provide approximate times for the owner to give you (and take back) the keys. Thanks to Silvia and Greg for the stay. We recommend Stingray Villa.

Very responsive host with good advices. I came for the Ironman 70.3 race and the location is about 15-20min walking distance to the venue, there’s bars and restaurants even closer than that. Had a great stay 👍🏽

The stay was fantastic. We felt very comfortable and safe. Very nice hosts who greeted us directly with a few words in German. Place really very clean. Complimentary coffee and free drinking water. Super comfy bed and tranquil surroundings. Also fantastic is the guidebook, which was provided via app and contains good tips for the area, great restaurants and excursions. All in all, a really great experience to stay here. We will be happy to come back!

Great place to stay in Cozumel, especially if you're on island for diving. Very thoughtful hosts. You feel extremely safe on the property. Rooms are comfortable and one of the best parts of the stay is that the hosts provide unlimited filtered water which really eliminates a chore.

Very cute air bnb! It was private and I felt very safe. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and very attentive. If I go back to Cozumel, will most likely stay at this air bnb again. It’s easily accessible to downtown- more than likely 5-10 minute walk. The only recommendation I have is to maybe have a microwave in the air bnb especially if you go out to eat, you’ll have tons of leftovers that you can possibly heat up. Other than that, great air bnb!

We had a great stay at the Stingray Villa! Great location in town. Room and courtyard was quiet and peaceful. Room is spacious and comfortable. Wifi is very strong and perfect for remote working. Silvia’s place was perfect and as many of the other reviews have stated the cleanliness can not be underestimated. The sheets were crisp and clean we got into bed without hesitation. It really became an oasis to us after a long day out because the shower was cold, the AC was pumping, and the bed was the most comfortable bed we’ve ever laid in. If we had any energy left we would do a bit of night swimming in the pool which was always a great end to the night. The location is perfect and in walking distance of many restaurants and shops and it was easy to get to from the airport and we always felt safe.

This place is amazing and the location is perfect! We tried out several locations in the guidebook and they did not disappoint. My favorite was the El Pastor tacos from Mr. Taco . We highly recommend this place and would gladly stay here again- it is gorgeous- all the beautiful plants and pretty touches did not go unnoticed !!! You walk into a garden oasis and it feels good to come home to each time you come back for the day. We loved visiting all the restaurants that were close by. The pool was cold, so we only wanted to use it while the sun was on us, but it was refreshing and clean. It was also fairly small with only 4 chairs, so it seemed like when the other groups of people were in the pool, there wasn’t room for us. Again, not much of a problem. The bed was huge and comfortable. It’s a basic room, not a lot of other amenities like a microwave or kitchen, but we didn’t really need anything. We enjoyed the coffee they stocked and would definitely stay here again!

The stay was great, the weather was not. Unfortunately it was a very windy few days we stayed on Cozumel, but what I liked about the place we stayed at was, it’s safe, secure, well lit, the rooms were cozy, perfect for a stay for a few days. I definitely recommend it as I do believe it’s adults only. Greg & Silvia we’re excellent hosts, & again a really good location, not far from anything really. Would do it again in a heartbeat, thanks again.

Good location, walkable from the ferry. The room is big and modern. Very clean, happy with it. Bring your own beach towels as you are not allowed to take the towels out of the property. Soap is provided, as is water and a mini fridge. Pool closes early with is unfortunate but otherwise I am happy with everything.

Stingray Villas is in a great location! Just a 10 min walk from the ferry pick-up/drop-off. Ego Gym is a 10 min walk away. 5 min walk to many bars and restaurants. 5 min walk to convenience stores (Oxxo). Silvia and Greg, the owners, are great. Very friendly and responsive if you have any concerns. The property is bordered by a wall and locked door, so it felt very safe and secure. The internet speed is phenomenal, over 200mbps most of the time. The pool area is nice and you feel like you are staying with family when here. Definitely enjoyed my stay here.

We spent two weeks. The place and space was everything in the pictures and more. Sylvia and Greg provided us a charming oasis in the heart of San Miguel to start and end whatever daily adventure we cooked up. Everything was there from shampoo to silverware. The room was big, bright, upscale and "eat off the floor" clean. Our hosts? Well Greg knows where everything is and who to see and how much to pay but we both agree that Sylvia is "just the best" (sorry Greg)

Very comfortable for two travelers and within very easy walking distance to great restaurants, banks, and anything else you might find useful (including pharmacies, convenience stores, a grocery store, and a laundromat). We especially appreciated the in-room coffee with creamer and sugar readily available to start your morning off right! It was really nice to feel like we were getting a more authentic experience and we weren't just another random guest at a cookie-cutter resort. Both Greg and Silvia were super friendly and helpful, and Greg's communication/guidance was the best I've experienced via AirB&B.

I loved staying with Silvia and Greg. Their place was ABSOLUTELY SPOTLESS. I have high standards for cleanliness, and this is the cleanest Airbnb I have ever encountered. You could eat off the floor, the place was that clean. It is also very secure and I never worried about my belongings while I was out, or about my safety while I was in. In terms of location, it is a short walk (approximately 10 minutes) from the city center. They are located just off a busy, well-lit road and I felt safe walking to and from the city center at night. Silvia and Greg are exceptionally professional hosts, who responded to all of my inquiries within minutes. Another element I appreciated was the ambiance of the space. They have a lovely courtyard, with a pool, many exotic plants, and a very amicable cat named Blanco. After a long day of diving it was nice to relax on-site and still have the feeling of being in a tropical area. I will definitely return to Cozumel, and plan to stay again with Silvia and Greg.

To be honest, I really didn’t know what to expect when I booked our week long stay with Greg and Silvia. I had never been to Cozumel before and I just wanted to find an AirBNB that looked clean, comfortable and safe. My expectations were actually pretty low because we didn’t want to spend a fortune on a “bed.” However, what we got with Greg and Silvia was so much more and we are truly thankful! We really feel like we found a diamond in the rough! From the moment we hit “book this trip,” we received extremely detailed information from Silvia regarding our transportation needs, all of their favorite places to eat, all of their favorite things to do on the island and even information that would help us maneuver as “tourists.” Not only did I read every single word of advice before we arrived, but if anything came up while we were there, I would send her a quick message and she would respond almost immediately...which was greatly appreciated!! There are hundreds of places to stay on the island, but if you are looking for a quiet little place to relax and call home for a few days, this is it!

I spend a lot of time in Cozumel and this is now one of my favorite's. The high tread count sheets on a comfortable mattress are a huge plus. The quiet private garden with pool and hospitable hosts makes Los Alcatraces a place I would be delighted to return to.

We highly recommend this location for diving. We ate at Tamarindos just around the corner everyday for breakfast. It was always packed with locals. Everything we tried was delicious. Highly recommend the salbutes and tortas especial.

A lovely little getaway far from the touristy spots of Cozumel, yet easily accessible walking distance if that’s what you’re looking for. I loved being just far enough away from all the tourist spots to be able to enjoy the peaceful residential and authentic part of Cozumel. It is quiet, clean and a great place to relax by or in the pool after a long day of diving or sightseeing. Sylvia and Gregg are really accommodating and so helpful. I highly recommend a stay here! I’ll definitely stay next time I’m back!

This space is perfect! It has all the amenities needed, to include plenty of extra hangers, endless drinking water (very important in a beach setting), and located in the heart of the town with access to the local scene as well as the turístic side!!!!! The place is very secure and the neighborhood is surrounded by nice people.

Silvia and Greg are very kind and communicative hosts. They greeted us upon check-in, showed us around, and offered us island advice. Although located not too far the main part of town/bars/restaurants/tourist zone you would definitely want your own car, especially if exploring after dark. While the property is gated and feels safe, the street the house is on does not have a lot of traffic so hailing a taxi isn’t easy and the walk is just dark and secluded enough to not feel entirely comfortable. The room offered a fridge with an endless supply of purified water, a very nice added bonus, but was a bit smaller than appears in the pictures, as was the bed which is listed as a queen but is actually a full. While we originally booked for three nights we opted to only stay for one. The room is situated at the back of the main house facing the courtyard. The only natural light coming into the room is through the sliding glass door that faces the courtyard caddy corner to another room. If the drapes were open we were either facing a line of drying laundry or exposed to anyone else who happened to be in the courtyard, so privacy was an issue for us. There are also quite a few animals on the property. While most of them remain indoors we did take issue with one cat that resides (either welcomed on unwelcome) on the property that appeared to be in heat. The moaning was a bit much for us. We explained our concerns with Silvia and Greg and they were more than understanding and kind about it and refunded us for our remaining two nights. While this accommodation was not right for us and we would not choose to stay here again I will say that Silvia and Greg are very very kind hosts and that holds great value in and of itself.

The hosts welcome you with a smile & make sure you are comfortable & give you recommendations so you will feel right at home. They live on site, but you have lots of privacy. It’s very safe here & a great area with tons of street art, cool affordable restaurants & walkable to the waterfront! You feel like a local staying here:)

I have just spent 3 wonderful nights at Silvia and Greg's place. What gracious and generous hosts they are. Friendly, warm, always available yet not intrusive at all. They have created a beautiful space at Los Alcatraces. After a full fay of sightseeing it was like coming back to an oasis. The garden and pool area are perfect for lounging around and I practiced yoga every morning in this lovely area. They have thought of every single detail from filtered water to organic coffee, maps with personal recommendations and even a recycling bin. The room was huge and immaculately clean. They even held my luggage for me on arrival and departure so I could enjoy extra time on the island. Gracias Silvia and Greg for making me feel so welcome!

This is such a perfect place to stay to explore Cozumel! We were able to walk to tons of local eateries and experience the island on a different level than a tourist in a resort. We enjoyed fresh baked treats from a local bakery, delicious tacos from several taco stands nearby, ice cold cervezas from snack shops, beach bars and restaurants,and out of this world traditional mexican breakfasts (all within walking distance). We really enjoyed seeing the beauty of this town up close and interact with the friendly local people as we walked to various locations. Then being able to return to Los Alcatreces where a clean and comfortable room, lovely garden, cooling pool, and the sweet Rosa pup waited was awesome. Our hosts were amazing and available to answer questions and give us tips and recommendations if needed. We rented a car and saw so many amazing things on the island. If you are looking to really experience Cozumel but return to the comforts of home after long amazing days, don't hesitate- this place is PERFECT! We already can't wait to return to Cozumel and Los Alcatreces! We've fallen for this beautiful place!

Silvia and Greg were really welcoming and always present to answer our questions or to give us great suggestions. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. You can find everything you need, beach mats, masks and snorkels, towels, etc... The location of the house is great, about ten minutes walk from the center and several good restaurants nearby. We would highly recommend this apartment. Thanks Silvia and Greg!

I've just returned from spending a week in Cozumel and staying with Greg & Silvia. All I can say is that everything was perfect! They are great hosts who go out of their way to make sure their guests have a wonderful experience, from the perfectly cleaned rooms, restaurant suggestions even down to booking an unforgettable scuba diving experience for me. If you are going to Cozumel and need a place to stay, this is the only place. 10/10. See you both again soon, I hope. Matt

Accommodations exactly as described except the pool was closed for maintenance. That fact may have been mentioned and I did not see it. No matter, we were not there to swim in pools! Service was friendly and prompt, with breakfast being served at our specified time. The room was very comfortable and private while the location was just a five blocks from the water....easy walk. All in all staying with Greg and Sylvia provided for an excellant value and experience.

Upon booking reservation, Silvia was extremely proactive in trip coordination and identifying points of interest. When I arrived, Greg was waiting to insure I had an smooth "check-in" and gave me a great rundown of all the properties and room features. They made me feel they would try to help me in any way possible to make my stay in Cozumel pleasant. They were great hosts! I was very satisfied with the room (I didnt consider it luxurious if that is what someone is looking for), but the amenities listing was very accurate. The property was well maintained with plants, a pool and even a huge tub to clean your diving equipment!! Of note, the bathroom was extremely clean (important for me), the bed was comfortable, closet and storage space was stellar, and the air conditoning worked to perfection. The daily breakfast was great and was brought to the personal patio area with good coffee, juice, fresh fruit and some type of croissant or muffin. You could even coordinate the time you got it (within a pre-defined window of course) Los Alcatraces was located in what I considered to be mainly a working class residential neighboorhood (there were small "mom and pop" restaurants and bars scattered throughout). I felt very safe navigating (walking) between the property and any destination regardless of time of day. It was about a 10 minute leisurely walk to get in the vicinity of the main waterfront. Silvia made some great restaurant recommendations, my personal favorite being Del Sur (excellent empanadas). Overall a great value, with superb hosts, possesses all the key amenities, and nicely located.

STAY HERE! The most gracious hosts, a beautiful place with a pool, super comfy beds and a 15 minute walk to all of the 'touristy' wonders Cozumel has to offer. Of course, it is the non-touristy part of Cozumel that has its charm, especially for me. You are staying in a local ara but the BNB, feels four star for sure. I took most of the advice that they gave but the were never intrusive. They coordinated scooter rental to be dropped off and picked up at the BNB., so no haggling or dealing with the slew of renters at the ferry site. Breakfast every morning of fresh fruit, Danish, and juice. The way it is set up you get so much privacy, but they are there if you have a question or need any advice or help. They are truly great hosts and have made a place that is the best of Cozumel in my opinion. It's only a 20 minute walk from the ferry or a 30-50 pesos cab ride. If you like feeling local but feeling like your staying at a resort, this is the place for you. I would definitely stay again and so should you.

Greg and Sylvia are amazing. Great location. They even went above and beyond with amenities we weren't expecting like purified water and a fridge in the room. Definitely recommend and would totally stay again if we found ourselves in the area!

What an incredible adventure and great way to start our Mexican vacation! Thank you so much Greg and Sylvia (and sweet little Rosie) for making our trip not just another vacation, but a forever memory. From the minute we arrived at Los Alcatraces we felt perfectly welcome to their beautiful, quiet, and extremely comfortable home in such a wonderful location. We woke up every morning to a delicious, fresh, and healthy breakfast served on our warm open air patio. Our adventures included scuba diving, navigating the town and circling the island on mopeds, bar hopping, shopping and simply walking the safe and comfortable streets of Cozumel. We enjoyed delicious meals at all of the local hotspots away from all the tourist traps and were lucky enough to have Greg and Sylvia join us for some of the meals. Sylvia even took me out for a little shopping on the town, just the two of us girls while Greg and my husband dove a sunken airplane. We cannot wait for our next opportunity to visit Los Alcatraces again. Thank you for everything!

Greg and Silvia were fantastic hosts and their place is beautiful. The room had the cleanliness and amenities of a nice resort, but with the comfort and relaxed atmosphere as home. Their 2nd floor hammock area and their pool were also great additions. Greg and Silvia were super friendly and helpful with giving us advice on local places to eat and visit. Their doggy, Rosalita, is an absolute sweetheart too. We will definitely reach out to them again next time we are in Cozumel!

Staying with Greg and Silvia felt like staying at an expensive hotel with how nice, clean and modern the accommodations were. Although we just met them on this trip, they were so helpful and fun that it also felt like we were staying with old friends. Without their help on finding everything from good restaurants to barber shops and gyms, our time in Cozumel absolutely wouldn't have been the same without them. Looking forward to seeing them on our next trip to the island!
