The space
The chocolate box frontage of this stunning cottage leads into a fresh and contemporary interior reflecting coast and country. Natural light bathes the living space with floor-to-ceiling window walls on two sides, with views of the garden and the trees beyond. Four generous bedrooms (three en suite) make for a refreshing sleep. The tended garden's lawns are zoned with wildlife havens: with meadow flowers, a pond, and a stream. Contemporary, warm, and styled in muted earthy tones and bright touches, the open-plan living space and kitchen are stylishly laid out - two plush sofas let you soak up the garden views with floor-to-ceiling French windows of two sides.
The kitchen island makes meal prep a social occasion and is well-equipped for every mealtime. Start the morning with Nespresso coffee at the breakfast bar, or gather around the solid wood dining table.
Upstairs there are four wonderfully-comfortable bedrooms, three of which are en suite. The master bedroom features a superking-size bed, which can be configured as two singles. Bedrooms two and three benefit from kingsize beds, and each has an en suite shower room. Up another flight of stairs and, within the white-painted eaves, is bedroom four, also with an en suite shower room.
Garden
The spacious garden has a broad lawn and is also a wildlife haven, stretching into the woods and hills beyond. A pond, a stream, and wild zones are left to nature. Thoughtful sculptures add further character to this broad open space.
A large terrace patio has generous seating to sit back and view the garden below. Dine in the dappled sunlight under the wood pergola, the refectory table big enough for all to gather round.

There is ample parking on the driveway - enough for 5 to 6 cars.

You're a short drive from two great (award-winning) waterside pubs: The Maltsters Arms and The Watermans Arms in Tuckenhay - ideal for a hearty meal after a country walk. Historic Totnes is a 20-minute drive, as is the closest beach, Blackpool Sands.

We had a wonderful four nights with our friends at Barberry Farm Cottage. Despite the weather being mixed we could enjoy the stunning open plan living room with its views over the garden and river and the cosy sitting room with the wood burner. The whole house is really well equipped and spacious with each couple having a very comfortable bedroom with their own bathroom. When the rain abated we had some great walks including one to the lovely Pub in Dittersham. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful home! So peaceful and relaxing. Our whole family loved staying here. The log fire made the evenings feel so cosy and warm. The bedrooms were lovely, and having an en-suite for each one was a real bonus. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone thinking of staying! ☺️

We had a fantastic stay at Barberry Farm Cottage, the house was amazing, larger than we expected and you could feel the warmth of it having been a carefully curated and loved space. The living dining space is just gorgeous and was perfect for a family get together of all ages! We hope to be back again, thank you for a brilliant stay! Highly recommend.

We had such a lovely stay and wish it could have been longer! The house is beautiful and has the perfect layout for going away with family or friends, with the large open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area. We also had 3 dogs with us and there was still plenty of space! The beds and pillows were comfy and the kitchen was well equipped too. The view from the balcony is beautiful and it was so peaceful and quiet. Georgia was friendly and helpful and was only a message away if we needed anything. Thank you again for a lovely short getaway in your stunning home!

Please put nothing more than toilet paper down the toilets, this property has a septic tank. Please respect the residents in the valley and keep noise to a minimum - especially late in the evenings.
