The space
The chocolate box frontage of this stunning cottage leads into a fresh and contemporary interior reflecting coast and country. Natural light bathes the living space with floor-to-ceiling window walls on two sides, with views of the garden and the trees beyond. Four generous bedrooms (three en suite) make for a refreshing sleep. The tended garden's lawns are zoned with wildlife havens: with meadow flowers, a pond, and a stream. Contemporary, warm, and styled in muted earthy tones and bright touches, the open-plan living space and kitchen are stylishly laid out - two plush sofas let you soak up the garden views with floor-to-ceiling French windows of two sides.
The kitchen island makes meal prep a social occasion and is well-equipped for every mealtime. Start the morning with Nespresso coffee at the breakfast bar, or gather around the solid wood dining table.
Upstairs there are four wonderfully-comfortable bedrooms, three of which are en suite. The master bedroom features a superking-size bed, which can be configured as two singles. Bedrooms two and three benefit from kingsize beds, and each has an en suite shower room. Up another flight of stairs and, within the white-painted eaves, is bedroom four, also with an en suite shower room.
Garden
The spacious garden has a broad lawn and is also a wildlife haven, stretching into the woods and hills beyond. A pond, a stream, and wild zones are left to nature. Thoughtful sculptures add further character to this broad open space.
A large terrace patio has generous seating to sit back and view the garden below. Dine in the dappled sunlight under the wood pergola, the refectory table big enough for all to gather round.

There is ample parking on the driveway - enough for 5 to 6 cars.

You're a short drive from two great (award-winning) waterside pubs: The Maltsters Arms and The Watermans Arms in Tuckenhay - ideal for a hearty meal after a country walk. Historic Totnes is a 20-minute drive, as is the closest beach, Blackpool Sands.

The location was stunning - such beautiful surroundings and the property was even better than the pictures, plenty of space for everyone the decor was beautiful and the kitchen had every appliance and gadget needed. Georgia was massively helpful and responsive throughout our stay I only wish we were there for longer.

We had a wonderful long weekend at Barberry Farm Cottage. Tucked away in a peaceful rural location, it was ideal for our relaxing family get together. The open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area was great for the family, with the added benefit of a large sitting room in the original part of the cottage. The artwork around the house and outside added to the experience and feel of the cottage. The lane outside is quite narrow for walking down, but did walk in to Dittisham and tracks just up from the cottage were good for dog walking. It has a great outside seating and dining area, and garden, although mixed weather prevented us making the most of it.

We had a wonderful stay at Barberry Farm Cottage. So much to appreciate from spacious bedrooms and en suite bathrooms to fantastic open plan, well-equipped kitchen and 2 fridges. Superb weather allowed us to enjoy the terrace, sofas, barbecue in a glorious peaceful setting. Georgia and Bob were incredibly helpful and welcoming and we can’t wait to return.

We had a fabulous family break, in the most idilic village. The cottage is so tastefully decorated, it feels high end, with quirky unusual items that helped to create a cosy home from home environment. The birds and wildlife around the cottage were amazing to watch in the morning and as the sun went down. This cottage is probably our favorite holiday place to date, it was a great hit with our old cocker spaniel Sam who seemed to find energy for zoomies again ! The hosts were so lovely, the wine and chocolates were a lovely gesture on arrival. A great break in a beautiful part of the country.

Please advise your well behaved dogs that there are breeding birds that live on the pond and surrounding area. Please put nothing more than toilet paper down the toilets, this property has a septic tank. Please respect the residents in the valley and keep noise to a minimum - especially late in the evenings.
