With stunning views from the living room and private garden as well as private on-site parking, 6 & 7 School Steps has all the key elements for a fabulous holiday in Dartmouth year-round. You’re a short walk from the River Dart and the historic town centre. Take in the coastal air on the private terrace with both open-air and covered areas, and a stone pizza oven. This reverse-level holiday home suits families or couples looking to enjoy this beautiful riverside town or the wider South Hams.

The space

The front door opens from the parking area to a small landing with stairs down into the open plan living area. The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven and gas hob as well as dishwasher, fridge and microwave. At the rear of the kitchen is a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer as well as stairs down to the bedrooms, bathroom and garden.

In front of the kitchen area there is the dining table which comfortable seats 6 as well as the living area at the front of the room with log burner and sofas along with TV and additional window seating to take advantage of the unrestricted views out towards the mouth of the river and towards Kingswear. Separating the dining area and lounge area is a second staircase down to the ground floor.

The stairs from the kitchen take you down to the ground floor hallway with access to the garden immediately in front, the family bathroom to the right and master bedroom to the left. The family bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, toilet and basin. The master bedroom has a standard double bed and built in hanging space and windows onto the garden.
The single bedroom can either be accessed via the master bedroom or via the second staircase in the living area and has a 3' bed and built in hanging space. The third bedroom is at the very front of the property and benefits from excellent views via the dual aspect windows in the corner, this room is accessed via the second staircase.

Outside:
There is a covered patio area with built in BBQ and garden furniture as well as a small grassy lawn that truly makes the most of the views. The garden is beautifully presented with mature shrubs and climbing plants and the perfect spot to relax, and watch boats come and go.

Parking:
At the front of the property is a parking bay for one small car. Longer vehicles may struggle

Other things to note

Due to the layout of the property with 2 sets of wooden stairs and the low wall in the garden we do not feel the property is suitable for children under 5.

A wonderful home with spectacular views from the lounge area and garden. Spent most of our time indoors at the seating area by the window watching the boats and light change over Kingswear. Centre of town is literally 3 or 4 minutes walk - but beware the steps back up to the property! There are 112 of them! Everything is within easy reach. And Co-op is brilliant…… We parked our car on the road above where the house is situated - for free. Ideal if you are not going to use your car whilst staying - as our X-Trail was too long to fit in the space to the front of the property. We will definitely be back and are planning what we want to do in and around Dartmouth already. And we will try to stay at this property as it’s a wonderful place. Most relaxing holiday I have been on - and we had teens with us!

The place needs some maintenance as some staining here and there and a damp smell too. Parking was non existent as the space was tiny! But overall, there are amazing views and very central. Walkable to many places.

Great place to stay with amazing views over the River Dart. Convenient location. Suited our needs perfectly. Word of warding turn your car round when leaving the property and go back down the way you came in. Not for the faint hearted to go the other way particularly in a medium sized SUV. Had to fold the door mirrors in and still very tight in places.
