Lovely quaint House, as described, handy to all amenities. Unfortunately, the property is very tired and the carpets are a bit threadbare and causing trip hazards around door thresholds and stairways. The kitchen outside door area showed a lot of signs of dampness and staining/mouldy decor. The 2nd floor double bed is very very low and the end bed panel obstructs vision of the TV. Only one bedside lamp in each bedroom and unfortunately the 1st floor one did not work although this was rectified the next day. The property was clean but both bathrooms were a little worn especially the basin taps. Overall it was adequate for our stay and reasonably priced.

We love staying in this cottage. It’s cosy and a great location. However we did have some issues with the blind and fridge door which need addressing. Single mattress also desperately needs replacing. We were only staying a few days so declined offer by Dart Valley to address these issues. However they advised us that these will be done in time for next visitors. I hope so because we would love to come back

I don’t think the pictures do justice to how lovely this cottage is. Great location. Oddly the church wasn’t chiming which is normally on the hour so was very quiet. Considering you are right next to the Seven Stars pub as well it was peaceful. Proper home from home. Welcome gift and drink was lovely. Plus, loved a Christmas tree was up too. Only thing which would have been useful to have was a freezer. Otherwise, everything was great.

This cottage is perfect for staying centrally in Dartmouth. It is nicely decorated, warm and cosy with comfortable beds and good showers. We recommend ear plugs if you are a light sleeper, as the church click chimes on the hour. There were a few bits of maintenance that needed doing, like the kitchen light needing fixing, but these didn't impact our stay - the cottage is clean, comfy and central and that's is what is important! I have let Dart Valley Cottages know, so hopefully they will be sorted for the next guests.

A glorious historic townhouse with comfortable sofas and beds - place felt well looked after. Would have liked a first aid kit to hand, but there was a chemist nearby for the next day. Next to a pub, yet surprisingly no noise audible when inside the house! Good cooking facilities and nice kitchen wear. Great shower too and central heating worked well.

Great base for a visit to Dartmouth. Couldn't be more central, but because it's on a lane with no access for vehicles, it's very quiet. For loading and unloading you can park at the end of the lane, which is just a few metres from the front door, while main carpark is a just a few minutes walk away. Would definitely stay there again.

Rose Cottage was perfect for 2 over Christmas. It was a great location for us with our family literally around the corner. Very warm & cosy. I actually turned the heating down as it was too hot. Really appreciated the constant hot water & very comfy beds sheets & towels. The parking permit was a bonus. We will definitely re book really felt it was a little bolt hole for us.

Second stay in this property as we own a coffee landrover that is at Dartmouth Food Festival. It's close to where we work for the 3 days on the South Embankment, it's close to the places we choose to eat when we're there incl some great indie coffee shops (don't use the Costa machine in Co-Op - there are at least 4 great indie coffee shops (not Warrens or The Cornish Bakery, we mean proper indie) within 2 minutes walk, and a lovely cafe right next door! Great space, works well for us.

Fantastic in town location, couldn’t ask for better! Lovely charming cottage with everything you could want including extremely large bedrooms and clutter free. Would definitely stay again. Extremely quiet despite being neighbours with a pub and so close to centre -didn’t hear a thing. Only negatives are the super king bed (great size!) on the first floor has an extremely soft mattress which I found difficult to sleep on and more could’ve been made from the tiny courtyard to use as drying space for sailing clothes, which can’t go in the tumble dryer, however, the downpipe would need to be fixed first as water is leaking from it.

We loved the property it was in an excellent location and well kept and comfortable. We did find the directions a bit confusing and ended up parking randomly and finding the property on foot. Once in the property was delightful and having the parking permit was a great advantage. Lots to do in the area and we wished we had booked for longer!

Pretty three story cottage in the heart of Dartmouth, close to restaurants and cafes, the Boat Float and the main harbour/river area. Comfy, a little warm but once we mastered the thermostat and opened some windows all fine. The only downside for us was the size of the courtyard as our dog refused to use it even for a wee!

Fantastic location, right in the heart of Dartmouth and close to everything you need. Car parking pass is extremely useful and the property had excellent sized bedrooms (particularly for Dartmouth) and plenty of a space for a family of 4.

Poor instructions to locate and unable to contact. Located next to a pub and church with constant noise. Unable to park on the final day and had no alternative or instructions from the host. Luggage had to be carried 20 minutes from car to house as unable to drop or park at cottage. All in all a holiday to forgot and especially at the price paid.

Had a wonderful long weekend in Rose Cottage, from the moment we arrived we felt totally relaxed. We had our elderly mother with us, so the location couldn't have been better, with easy access straight into the heart of Dartmouth and the stairs in the cottage were very manageable. The cottage was beautifully fitted out with everything we needed and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. With an amazing choice of restaurants and cafes on our doorstep and boat trips galore along the estuary, we didn't need to use the car once. Our four legged friend was also well catered for, with most of the shops and eateries being dog friendly and a beautiful park 2 mins away. I would highly recommend a stay in this fabulous cottage.

Lovely cosy cottage well placed down a footpath adjacent the beautiful Church in central Dartmouth. Next door one side to a great cosy little pub, which does a fab Sunday lunch, and less than 50yards to an array of other cafes restaurants and all galleries and shops. Beds are awesome !!!

Property was ideal for our weekend in Dartmouth , perfect location in the centre of town but still quite even though close to pub! Communication very good and answered all questions quickly. Close to all amenities that we required and would definitely use again next time we are in Dartmouth. The only thing I would say is the selection of glassware and crockery was limited considering the cost , I would expect 4 of everything, not a mish mash of cups and mugs to make up 4!

Absolutely lovely long weekend in this beautiful cottage. Three storey with lovely sitting area with kitchen/breakfast bar. First floor huge bedroom and large bathroom. Second floor large bedroom with ensuite. Well furnished and comfortable. Location was everything we hoped for and more. Totally amazing! Right in the heart of the town but so quiet. Minute's walk to the river with all the restaurants and shops around. Co-op 30 seconds away and few minutes walk to M&S Foodhall. Most evenings post food were spent walking along the embankment enjoying the view. Parking permit was added bonus. Plenty of spaces in car park (end of April arriving on a Wednesday about 4.30pm). Quick trip to house and back to car (3 minutes walk) to put permit in car. We didn't use the car again until we left. Dartmouth is absolutely stunning. Evening meals we ate at Rockfish, Andria and Platform 1 and highly recommend all of them. Breakfast was lovely at Beth's Bistro, The Dart Cafe (two doors down from cottage) and Bar Alf Resco.

A great located small cottage in the centre of Dartmouth a stones throw from the inner harbour, perfectly located for the town centre, pubs, restaurants but slightly off the main streets. Two comfortable bedrooms, with good storage and comfortable beds. Will be colder in winter months as it’s a older property with understandably less insulation but sufficient heating options to keep it warm. Well kitted out kitchen and a small living space for relaxing in the evening.

Rose cottage was a fab location, clean and well equipped. We stayed there with our 6 month old and 4 year old and it was great. The pub next door does play music but it shuts at 10pm and it wasn’t too loud that it disturbed the kids or us.

A great location just a few steps from shops, cafes and from where the ferries go up and down the river, but on a quiet traffic free passage. The house is cute and is aesthetically decorated. The bells, that others have mentioned, did not bother us at all, and we slept well. Dartmouth is a beautiful town - we had a lovely few days!

Lovely stay in Dartmouth. The cottage was easy to find, very clean and comfortable. Local to lots of restaurants, I recommend booking in advance, a lot of places are closed Mondays and Tuesdays, and we’re fully booked most other nights. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the equipment you could need. Would stay here again if visiting the area. Thanks for a great stay.

Rose cottage is in a great location in the town and having a parking permit is a real bonus. The cottage is well equipped for eating in if you want to cook. There was always plenty of hot water for a bath or shower. The host was extremely prompt at returning messages when booking etc.

The house is in a brilliant location right in the centre of Dartmouth. There are a myriad of takeaways and cafes nearby which meant we had lattee and pastry's for breakfast every morning. We did some sea kayaking and did some amazing walks along the coast and in Dartmoor. We did have some issues though, one was with the internet, which meant we had real issues with watching the smart TV and using the smart devices. Also throughout the stay I had to repeatedly chase to see if anything was being done about the issues we were having. A broken heater did get replaced but only after the third message I'd sent. The internet never really got resolved. They did provide a partial refund but it was such a low amount I'm still not sure how I feel about it. The ropey internet might seem small, but it is something we are used to and expect, and is advertised on the page. It is lockdown and not a lot else to do in the evening, and it caused a lot of stress trying sort, which was compounded by what my partner and I felt were inadequate responses (or no responses) to the issues raised. So we have left with a sour taste in our mouth unfortunately.

The cottage is in a perfect location, just a short walk from the harbourside and amongst the local shops and restaurants/cafes. We would 100% recommend and return to Rose Cottage again. :)

Great cottage, stylish, spacious bedrooms, and clean.. and near to the town centre if you want to stroll. Originally booked an apartments with views, but due to gov advice that had to be changed. So we were thankful to get this alternative at the same cost, even without the views. Comms were excellent and missing bed linen provided immediately.

Had a lovely stay at this cottage in Dartmouth. Really clean on arrival & clear that they were putting extra precautions in place for enhanced covid safety. Didn’t get to hear the bells from the church next door as they didn’t seem to be ringing during our stay, so we had a very peaceful visit. Lovely area with lots of nice eateries - would recommend booking somewhere for dinner in the town as we had a little trouble finding a space for 2 on one of our nights. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Couldn’t ask for a better location. Steps away from the best fish and chips and seafront walks. Lovely cottage with two huge bedrooms and a lovely downstairs space (no dining area but with all the lovely food on offer why would you eat in?!). Powerful rainfall showers in both bathrooms. The ‘wood burning stove’ in the photos is an electric fire and quite noisy but you don’t need it - the house is very cosy! We were just looking forward to the atmosphere of a real fire. We loved Dartmouth. Amazing place for children with all the ferries, steam train, and heaps of beaches of all shapes and sizes. Some great running too along the coast path (if you don’t mind hills...)

5 Rose Cottage is in such a great location in Dartmouth, being able to walk to the local restaurants and pubs without having to think of transport there and back. As for the cottage itself it truly is stunning, clean and modern. The open plan living and kitchen was great for us as we were a group of friends staying for a wedding so made the cottage a much more sociable area. The bedrooms are of great size and was so convenient having 2 bathrooms. Thank you to Murray for such an amazing accomodation for our first time in Dartmouth and we would definitely book again.

The Rose Cottage was a perfect little stay in Dartmouth. Very close to everything and on a cute side street across from a beautiful church. On the corner below was a pub we had drinks at after putting kids to bed. I recommend making a reservation at a restaurant! When we arrived, everyone was booked. And we where starving. The cottage was warm and cozy, easy to make our morning meal. Beds comfortable, bathrooms clean and google was fun playing my daughters music. We had a good time in Dartmouth, a walk to the castle and tea and cake there was our favorite. A boat ride back was fun too. Shopping in town was good, we got some new cloths. Highly recommend!

We would have no hesitation in recommending Rose Cottage and Murray and his team. We found everything to be just as described and anticipated - which was great. Even though we know Dartmouth quite well (after 25 years of living in Devon) we had actually never stayed there, so some of the extra information left at the property was useful to us.

This is a fantastic base for a pleasure trip to Devon. The house is perfectly located at the heart of Dartmouth which is a gem of a place. We instantly felt at home. Dartmouth is great, there are many places to eat, drink and explore all within a short distance from Rose cottage. Typical Devon cottage in a brilliant location Downstairs is small as you might expect but upstairs there are 2 large and airy bedrooms. Look out of the windows at night and you are in Victorian times. Dartmouth is a great place to visit Lots of cafes and restaurants and bakery 30 seconds away is very good croissants for breakfast and cornish pasties for lunch We enjoyed a river cruise and sitting in Platform enjoying a drink and a great view. So a lot to recommend this property as long as you know its bijoux downstairs.

Fabulous cosy cottage with good facilities, centrally located in Dartmouth a stones throw from some great pubs and restaurants. Murray is a great host and was quick to respond to all our requests to ensure our arrival and stay went without any snags. Would stay there again without any hesitation if it isn’t already booked out!!!

What a fantastic little hideaway right in the centre of town - we couldn’t have asked for a better location. The house was tastefully decorated and the bedrooms enormous! There were nice touches like books in the rooms, and coffee pods and tea. The bedding was nice - and the bed very comfy. The house could have been a little cleaner and there a few DIY bits not quite finished. We’d love to return in the spring/summer months to make the most of Dartmouth!

Central for everything. The accommodation needs a bit more TLC and finishing as well as decoration and better cleaning. Handyman required to sort out several issues. Could be very good with a bit of effort.

Stayed hear after New Year. House is really nice, clean and tidy, well equipped and in a great location, v quiet but also very close to everything you will want to see/ do in Dartmouth. If you want to visit Dartmouth we would highly recommend this place. If we come back we will try to book here again. Says it all really!

Our stay at Rose Cottage was so lovely. We had rain most of the time which didn't matter we just loved being in the Cottage. The Lounge area is so cosy and comfortable. The bedrooms are huge, stylish and very comfortable. The Cottage is so centrally located we popped out every couple of hours into the town as it was literally a 1 minute walk. We will definitely be back.

Rose Cottage is the perfect hideaway for a cosy weekend in Dartmouth. The space is ample for up to 4 people with good sized bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as a kitchen with everything you'd need to self cater - just to note, there isn't a separate table if you're dining in (we didn't) but space for 3 people at the kitchen bar. Its located right in the centre of town although tucked down a side street next to the Church so not on any main roads. The churchbells do toll every hour but this didn't disturb us at all. We loved curling up in front of the woodburner (electric so instant heat - bonus!) as we arrived in the middle of a torrential storm but the cottage was a perfect sanctuary. The Seven Stars pub right next door (not at all noisy) was perfect for drinks and dinner, and the Yarn (also round the corner) was a great brunch spot. Would love to come back for another visit!

Excellent location 1 minute walk away from everything, some lovely places to eat, we especially enjoyed eating at Kendrick’s located at the bottom of the hill. Very clean and modern cottage. Ear plugs recommended if you are a very light sleeper as the church bell does chime every hour throughout the night,

A really comfortable place to stay which is centrally located for all amenities. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable with an ensuite for one and family bathroom for the other bedroom. The living room is comfortable and all amenities are available in the kitchen. Would definitely like to return.

The house is in a super location, right in the heart of the town with great restaurants, cafes, galleries and walks on the doorstep. The house itself is very clean and well decorated. If you are a light sleeper the church bells could prove a challenge.

Great location! Lovely clean, modern and comfortable space for 4 people with all the necessities. We found Murray didn't respond to any messages at all whilst we were there which made finding the parking space difficult as this info wasn't included in the itinerary but we eventually found this on the listing page.

This place is great - and in particular its location bang in the town centre of Dartmouth. Really easy access to fantastic restaurants, cafes, shops and the harbour - and yet thanks to being tucked away up a small alley there's no noise or disruption at all (other than the spectacular bell-ringing practice in the adjacent church...but that was nice noise and disruption?). Really comfortable property with everything you could need, and Murray was an attentive and responsive host. Thoroughly recommended.

Easy check in and Murray thinks of everything. From personal touches in the cottage, amenities in the house, and parking permit during your stay. The house itself is beautifully done up, petite and tucked away but fantastically light and spacious inside. My 6ft 3 husband couldn’t complain and he normally struggles with cottages. We will definitely be back as the location is also perfect and the view is to die for. Incredibly worth it!

A great place if you want to stay in the centre of Dartmouth. Nothing is more than a few minutes away. Great accommodation and great facilities, would recommend to anyone. Be aware the church next door does ring the bells every hour throughout the night, but the pub right next door to this accommodation makes up for it. Try one of the 59 Gins on offer! Thanks Murray for a great stay, we will definitely be back

This is a great house, welcoming, clean, cosy and brilliantly situated with everything on your doorstep. We stayed as a family of four and the space was perfect. Plenty to see and do, we spent most of the day out and about but hung out comfortably early mornings and night. Parking was simple and we didn't need our car for the three days we were there. Definitely recommend.

The location is ideal, down a quiet traffic-free street yet right in the middle of town. Everywhere is literally 1-5 minutes walk away. The cottage is thoughtfully decorated to maximise the available space and exploit the light airy rooms upstairs whilst the kitchen/diner/lounge has everything you need to prep breakfast and snacks. There are also loads of books to read whilst you’re there; very handy when your current Kindle offerings are rubbish! There are shops, cafes and restaurants to suit every taste and budget, as well as a market with independent shops and an incredibly well stocked wine shop. The perfect cottage and village.

It would be hard to find a more perfect location to get to everything in Dartmouth. Parked the car in the local car park (a pass is included) and didn’t go back to it until we left. The seven stars pub almost next door was excellent. Simply a wonderful cottage style property which we loved.

Rose Cottage is the perfect place to stay in Dartmouth; the central location makes it so easy to pop in and out of the shops, cafes and pubs (not having to trudge the buggy up and down the hills was a real bonus for us!) Having a parking permit for the car park and being able to pull up very close to the door to unload/load the car made arriving and departing so easy. The cottage has been renovated to a good standard and has everything you could need. Murray was a great host and was very good at communicating with us from our very first email. We will definitely be booking in to stay at Rose Cottage again!
