The space
Holly Cottage is a delightful holiday cottage full of character and only a stone’s throw from the River Dart. Dated at over 400 years old Holly cottage is pet friendly and comfortably sleeps 5 over 3 rooms, with a log burner in the living room for the chillier winters as well as front and back patios for the summer. The Ferry Boat Inn is just down the road on the quayside along with the Anchorstone Cafe and the ferries to Dartmouth and Greenway.Accommodation:
The front door leads you into a small porch with space for coats and boots. Into the sitting room with its many original features including antique furnishings, stone fireplace with wood burning stove, wooden floor, sofa and 4 armchairs, TV with DVD.
A few steps up lead to the well-equipped kitchen/dining room. The kitchen has been completely renovated (March 2021 photos to follow) with pine table and chairs, all integrated appliances including, electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge, and microwave.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms, the master bedroom has a double bed with iron bedstead, wardrobe and river glimpses. The second bedroom has twin beds and chest of drawers, the third bedroom has a single bed and chest of drawers.
The family bathroom has been newly refurnished for 2020 and has a bath with overhead shower, toilet and wash basin.
In courtyard at the back there is a WC.

Outside:
At the back of the cottage there is a small paved courtyard garden on two terraces with garden furniture and river views available from the top terrace. At the front of the cottage there is a sheltered patio with garden furniture and river views across to Greenway.
Parking:
Due to the properties location there is no parking on site however it is possible to pull up outside to load/unload. There is a choice of two car parks approx. 300m away (steep hill up to ‘The Level’ car park) or free on street parking on Riverside Road.
Nearby:
The Ferry Boat Inn is a 1-minute walk down the road (don't worry it is not known to be noisy). On the quayside you will also find The Anchorstone Cafe as well as ferries to Greenway and Dartmouth. At the top of the village you will find the The Red Lion that doubles up as the village shop and post office. Down The Lane you will find The Ham; the large grassy playing field and playpark. Blackpool sands is the closest beach a 10-minute drive away in the village of Stoke Fleming.

Stunning location, very friendly village and enjoyed being right in the centre of the comings and goings. Real sense of community among the cottages and the pub and the cafe. The crabbing off the pontoon is brilliant. The ferry from the village to Dartmouth is perfect length of time and Dartmouth is of course brilliant. Pub had great atmosphere with people over spilling to the beach and Thursday night pub quiz. Cafe lovely with great coffee and food. Sitting outside the cottage day and night was very relaxing and got to know the neighbours. Cottage has everything you need and very comfortable. Really pretty walk either on beach or through village to a riverside park which is great for children and dogs. Few tips: 1. You can get crabbing items from village store or from cafe. 2. A small dog can get under the front gate so needs extra barricading. 3. The boat hire company in the village was closed for the week we were there in the middle of August so check the website.

An unforgettable stay. The location in Dittisham is unrivalled. A Stone's throw from the FBI and the cafe and the ferry, you don't have to use th car unless you want to go to the beach. The outside terrace at the front is brilliant and so peaceful with amazing views of the river.
