The space
Out to Sea has some of the best sweeping views where the river meets the sea. Nautical touches throughout this ideal family holiday home underscore the spirit of Dartmouth. French windows open from the living room onto a terrace to take in the scenery. Wake to an inspiring sight from the master bedroom balcony or the full-length windows in the top bedroom.Accommodation:
Approximately 40 steps lead up from the parking bay to the front terrace and main entrance. which makes the property unsuitable for guests with mobility issues The front door opens onto the open-plan living space with a dining area and well-equipped kitchen at the rear. At the front of the living room are the French windows offering truly impressive river and valley views, filling the room with light and offering access to the front terrace with garden furniture. The lounge area has two sofas, an armchair, and a TV. The dining table comfortably seats six between the living room and the kitchen.
Please note that the wood burner, is NOT for use by guests.
The kitchen at the rear includes a Smeg fridge-freezer, a dishwasher, a washing machine, an oven and hob, a microwave, and a toaster.
The first floor has the master bedroom, a bunk room and the family bathroom. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed with a Juliette balcony which make the most of the panoramic views, as well as a monitor with an Amazon Firestick ( Your own Amazon account is required) and en suite shower room. The bunk room in the rear has standard bunk beds as well as an additional standard single bed. (If you wish to stay as a party of 7, this is possible, but there will be a £50 premium). The family bathroom off the landing has a bath with an overhead shower.
Upstairs again to the second floor, in the eaves of the property, is ‘the engine room’. This second bedroom has a standard double bed and dual-aspect windows, again looking towards the river as well as over the back garden.
There's central heating throughout.
Outside:
Immediately outside the living room is the front terrace with outdoor furniture perfect for al fresco dining with a sublime view. On the way up to the front door from the parking area, you will pass by a mid-level sitting area. There is no access to the rear of the property.

Book this for the view! It's lovely in all weathers. From the front terrace & windows there is an unblocked view right up & down the busy river. The terrace was still in half sun until 4pm (at easter) so was lovely to sit out. As others say take a small car, access up the 33% gradient road from town isn't for the faint hearted nor is the narrow road to the house but with a bit of courage it's fine & narrow roads are to be expected in this part of the country. We found plenty to do in Dartmouth, walks are endless, be prepared for steps & steep hills. Recommend Agatha Christie's Greenway summer house by ferry trip, it's a must for fans and Bayards Cove Inn for food was exceptional. Comfortable, well equipped house.

We had a wonderful time in the house and Dartmouth.Having been to Dartmouth for many many years I'm fully aware of the constraints of driving along very tricky roads on the Above Town Road!I would highly recommend going up Crowthers hill to the house not the way Sat nav takes you as that road is very very hard to drive up if you are not from the area. A beautiful view and stunning house. So peaceful and quiet and ideal for our crabbing spot in Bayards cove🫶Highly recommend for a wonderful trip.
