Mountain Top Snug, Studio ITAS
Entire home in Snug, Australia
The space
What We LoveRising from the rugged Tasmanian landscape the clean lines and metal facade of this modern annexe create a contemporary yet warm structure. Clean lines meet at the floor to ceiling windows, connecting this home to nature from every aspect, and the minimal interior is impeccably designed to deliver the best in wabi-sabi living.
This contemporary studio offers a pristine and perfect escape into natural Snug living. The open-plan interior of this home delivers a rejuvenating escape. The kitchen has the essentials to prepare a leisurely brunch with local produce picked up in the village, and the sunken lounge space offers a designer seating area, perfect for soaking up the view. Speaking of soaking, the jewel of this home is the deep outdoor bathtub. Relax in style letting the wind gently waft through your hair as you watch the sunset from the deep tub alfresco. Even your slumber has been meticulously designed. A King bed is positioned to overlook your stunning views, or, if coming with children, they can transport themselves to Japan in the Sunken tatami children’s bed, with fitted tatami mattresses and a sense of eastern serenity.
As revitalising as its surroundings, this annexe perfectly echoes the alternative lifestyle found in Snug itself. Sparsely populated and extremely beautiful, the main pull of Snug is nature. There are plenty of jaw-dropping hikes and unmissable excursions (Bruny Island is a day trip with taking, and Snug Falls offers year-round beauty). Snug Beach is just waiting to be explored, offering very calm waters, perfect for swimming and kayaks - not to mention the spectacular sunsets!

Absolutely majestic accommodation paradise. We stayed for 4 nights and it was the perfect amount of time to truly lap up the stunning view and fully relax! The bath with the view was something of dreams and the accommodation was very tasteful! As per other reviews it is mostly private but the bathroom privacy was slightly questionable with the other house above - didn’t bother us too much though! We walked to Snug Falls from the unit as well which was very pleasant! Highly recommend!! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Overall review (impressions of the stay): There is an issue with the hot water, but the view is fantastic, so I would recommend this accommodation! Any wallabies around the room in the evening or later? There were days when lots of things appeared, like rabbits and so on…! Good points: · It was an open space where you could look out over the view from a hill; on clear days, we could enjoy the sunrise, sunset and starry sky. ・There was a washing machine with a dryer, and detergent and fabric softener were also provided, so I was very grateful to be able to do my laundry every day. ・There are also several sets of crockery, so you can host a house party. ・There is a butcher’s shop and a supermarket a few minutes’ drive away. · SnagFall is also around a 10-minute drive away, so you can easily enjoy a 30-minute one-way trek. ・Soaking in the hot spring tub while watching the morning sun was absolutely wonderful. · If there were two of us, we could also use the bed comfortably, and the futon was warm. Points of Interest: ・As it is a rural area, it can be difficult to request an Uber Taxi, so we recommend requesting one well in advance. · When requesting a Uber, I can’t specify the location on the map up to the front of my room, so I have to walk down a steep slope on my own, which is quite nerve-racking (there’s a risk of falling). ・The sink is extremely small, making it difficult to wash dishes and causing water to overflow. ・Please be aware that there are very few seasonings provided when you cook (there were salt and oil, however). ・On several occasions, if we used too much hot water, the hot water suddenly stopped coming out, leaving only cold water in the bath and making it impossible to use the shower. ・The water in the outdoor bath tub was always brown, so we recommend using the shower first. ・The shower enclosure was not fully enclosed, so I was concerned that the area around the toilet and taps would also get wet. This place is amazing, the views of the mountains and bay are next level, it really is so beautiful and the all around glass make you feel a part of nature. The sunk in couch is unique and great to chill in and the bed being centre to the room just allows you to wake up and take in the surrounding. The bath was great too. one thing to note is, the driveway to the main house runs infront of the property and the bath, and the bath area can be seen from the main house so it doesn't feel super private, but if you are OK with that I'd recommend this property.
