Incredible stay in the Drakensberg, the house was totally equipped with everything that you may require, the only flaw was a fishy/off meat smell in the deep freeze which was a minor issue in comparison to all the positives of our experience. We will definitely stay again.

Had an awesome 2 night stay. Was freezing cold with snow on the berg but we kept the fire going and the electric blankets on the beds were just what was required. Spacious and well equipped kitchen made catering for our group of 8 a pleasure.

Absolutely stunning stay at The Wellstead! The farmhouse is beautiful, spacious, and exceptionally well-equipped, with endless entertainment options from the jacuzzi and bowls to card games and more. The property was exactly as pictured, and everything was spotless and thoughtfully prepared. The hosts were incredibly friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay. It was the perfect mountain getaway, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We would definitely recommend The Wellstead to anyone looking for a relaxing escape and would love to return!

We chose this stay for our midweek family getaway. We got a bit lost finding the place, following the map on the listing. But a quick call to the host got us on the right track in no time. The property is very conveniently located just off the main road, with easy access to nearby facilities and attractions. The home is beautiful and very well kitted out. Nine adults and a fur child were all comfortably accommodated. The hosts have thought of everything! There were electric blankets, an ice maker, air fryer... Everything you need for an easy stay. We really enjoyed the property, taking daily walks around the farm just soaking in the amazing location. The hosts were so responsive and helpful. We let then know that our little rescue doggy was a bit anxious around other dogs, and they kindly kept their pets away. We really appreciated this as it gave our dog his first opportunity to run around off leash and he loved it! Thank you Euphoric! We will be back.

Great views over the valley. Beautiful mountain range you can view from the entrance gate. Lovely large home. Clean and well maintained by the local housekeepers. Beatufil view for a braai and some nice wines. A nice spot to explore the Drakensberg area. A nice grocery, liquor and fuel station at the ned of the road. A visit to the bakery down the road for one of their pies. Best pie I've had !!! Ensure that you get 100% confirmation that your bond payment is both complete and accepted prior to travelling there otherwise the gate won't open for you. The area itself is a must to see. Take a day and drive to Royal Natal National Park or hike the Sentinel Peak & Chain Ladders.

The place was situated in a very beautiful and private location. The views were stunning. It is exactly as the pictures described. Lovely amenities. The only problem is that there are a lot of moths inside the house. The house is very well equipped and has everything you would need to have a comfortable stay. Will definitely stay there again!

The place was lovely, every thing you need is there. We had to wait more than 15min infront of gate even after I told them I was 15min away. Otherwise lovely. Your main view is down the valley not towards the drakensberg

This beautiful house in Cathkin's Park is ideal for a family get away. We were here with my partner's family for three days and it felt like the perfect hideaway to access nearby hikes, swimming in the pond and spending quality time together as a family. I would stay here again without hesitation and I cannot recommend it more highly. My two small comments would be as follows: If you are a foreign traveller and don't know what self catering is then you should be aware that the expectation is that you will provide your own dish soap, dishwasher pods, etc. The host was kind enough to have some things on hand but otherwise you should be aware of the expectations. Finally, if you aren't comfortable around bugs and little critters then I would think twice before booking this location. It absolutely did NOT bother us on our trip but there are definitely quite a few insects, spiders and frogs in and around the property. Which is to be expected for the region.

This berg house is absolutely stunning and had everything we needed for our family stay. We loved the spacious interior rooms and outdoor braai area. We brought our dog along for the stay and the host was very accommodating and pet friendly as advertised.

Thank you, we really had a wonderful stay and Wellstead is a little gem. Just a note, it took the water in the shower in the main bedroom more than 10 minutes to get hot and the pressure was very low. We found one or two dishes still had food stains on them, but beside that it was truly amazing. Thank you so much

We had a lovely stay! We went has a big family with kids and a dog & really felt like we had so many nice spaces to spend time together. The view in the garden was incredible! The kitchen was well equipped & made for a comfortable stay. Definitely recommend for a getaway with a large group.

We had a lovely stay. We had our dog with us and it was so well suited to pets that it made the stay stress free. The views of the valley were amazing with a host of animals to be seen on the other side of the fence. 200m from a fuel station where you could buy basic necessities. The house was well equipped. The beds were comfortable with lots of warm blankets. Will definitely stay again. It really exceeded our expectations.

Had a great time! Beautiful views and being surrounded by a game farm made it even better🥳 The house had everything we needed and a great outdoor area to have fires and also braai. It also has a cozy indoor fireplace perfect for reading. Monks Cowl is also super close where there are amazing hikes up in the mountains.

A beautiful relaxed weekend in a beautiful tranquil and spacious home with well thought out amenities and plenty of space. The views are breathtaking (day and night) and the host responsive and very helpful. The place is pristine and very homely. The house is located in a safe place and is well placed near restaurants and activities within 5km from the house. The house is also kid friendly with lots of games to play in-house. I can’t wait to book another trip to the berg at the same place❤️ This is truly a home away from home ✨

we had a nice weekend away close to the Berg (20mins drive away from the berg/Monks Cowl). very spacious house and nice outdoor areas to sit and take in views. it got very hot so a pool would be a great addition to this property. we had a few issues with accessing/leaving the property as the remote opening of the gate did not work well due to a technical error. the prior comms and requested paperwork felt a bit overwhelming and unnecessary. guests are required to either pay a R5000 damage deposit or a R400 damage waiver. however, there is no 'security' or compensation for guests to enjoy in case of any unforseen circumstances or inconveniences (as in our case there was a 12 hour power outage although house was solar powered/off grid). but all in all a nice place in a nice location. paperwork and comms can be streamlined.

We appreciated the beautiful accommodations, and Euphoric's responsiveness to our inquiries. We had a very enjoyable stay in the quiet and beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed access to some great books in the living room and slept well in the beds. We appreciated the host quickly bringing a french press and power cord for the lamp. Our primary concern was the lack of a manual or guide at the property, for instance on how to operate the TV or other appliances. Euphoric's link to a webpage on local activities did not open when we clicked on it, but we were able to figure out some fun outdoor activities nearby and enjoyed our long weekend.

Wellstead was a much needed escape for our family - I loved how serene and peaceful it was, and that we had our privacy; it was our own little slice of heaven. It’s a 50 acre property that you are able to wander around at liberty - easy walking trails, really safe, and even some game to spot in the distance. Perfect for young families - no stairs, and not overly decorated with trinkets that little ones can get their hands on, so parents can relax too. Our littles also loved being able to spend time in the garden and run freely. The home is comfortable, clean, and well maintained. In terms of amenities, you’re not short of anything. There’s even Netflix and DStv access, and free Wi-Fi. Accessing the property is seamless - we did have some trouble finding the property following the GPS coordinates, but Mel was extremely helpful in getting us back on track. All in all, wholesome, replenishing, relaxing experience. You won’t regret your stay at Wellstead.

We enjoyed the house and open space and the lawn outside very much and spend long hours outside under the trees .The house is spacious ,the beds very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped with everything we needed .We enjoyed swimming in the dam and the walks on the farm .Will definitely return to this gem in future .We rested well and is ready for 2023.Thanks again to our friendly hosts .

The accomodation is central to alot of activities and restaurants, the house itself was alot bigger than we anticipated, the beds were comfortable and the outside area was lovely, the views were amazing. We had a peaceful and wonderful stay at this accomodation, well worth the money spent. Perfect for group trips or family trips. The place has a very homey feel to it. Would definitely stay again

Wow! From booking, to check out everything was handled wonderfully. Communication was never an issue - we were kept up to date every step of the way and the owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The place was absolutely spotless, starter coffee and tea were lovely and very welcomed as were the rusks Patricia brought for us. The photographs really do not do justice to the stunning views around the property. Kids felt safe playing in the front garden and loved all the space. There was snow close by, but we didn't feel it with the heater and firewood provided - the house seals beautifully without any chilly drafts. Warm toasty beds at night were also wonderful thanks to the heated blankets. Thank you so much again - 5 days really didn't feel like long enough!

Very spacious house with a gorgeous view of the valley (visible from 3 of the 4 bedrooms through large glass doors) situated in a large property. With the temperatures dropping to 1°C at night during our winter visit, the fireplace made evenings very cosy nonetheless, and several hot baths were enjoyed. The kitchen was very well equipped and left nothing to be desired, as did the braai area. A small business area with a restaurant, supermarket, liquor store and petrol station is a two minute drive away (or even walkable), and of course there are many hikes in the area, so it's well located as a base. We were sad we had booked only 2 nights, as we felt really at home in this place. We will certainly take a note of this property and hopefully will come back for a longer stay in a future trip.

Wellstead is a great home equipped with everything one would need. Best part is its central location relative to the many things one can do around the area. Patricia who did the cleaning was awesome and so friendly. My sons especially enjoyed the garden and lawn. We had a wonderful time, thank you!
