A wonderfully beautiful cottage with all-round views of the mountains. A good, quiet base for walks at Monks' Knoll. You can also see lots of beautiful birds from the veranda. Mark and Susan provide a lot of information and are always willing to help if needed. Highly recommended!

Beautiful, neat and tidy accommodation with amazing sunset views over the mountains. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, with everything you could need and more provided in the unit. The birdlife is incredible, and the peaceful, quiet and private setting makes it the perfect place to relax. The bed was large and comfortable, with fresh, clean linen, and the bathroom was beautiful. The hosts were very responsive to any requests, and all instructions, including check-in, were clearly communicated. An excellent stay all round!

Had an incredible long weekend here. Ideally located with tonnes to do nearby, beautiful scenery and incredibly friendly hosts. Mark and Susan and their awesome fur kids definitely made it a stay to remember. Highly highly recommended, especially if you’re looking to do some hiking !

The Tac House was absolutely awesome! A great host and one of the most beautiful locations we’ve stayed in. We would happily return. My only criticism was the booking process through Euphoric, which felt a bit disjointed. There were lots of messages coming from different platforms, along with several automated AI messages, which took away some of the simplicity and ease that usually comes with booking through Airbnb. Other than that, our stay was fantastic.

Amazing stay and hospitality from Mark. Close to Monk's Cowl for great day hikes and close to all the Champagne Valley has to offer. The cottage is charming, with the most incredible views. Highly recommend.

Had an incredible stay at Nyathi Hideaway in Champagne Valley. The views of the Drakensberg are absolutely breathtaking and the space itself was peaceful, beautifully maintained, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. Waking up to the mountain scenery and enjoying the calm atmosphere was a highlight of the trip. The accommodation was comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully equipped, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the surroundings. The location is also ideal for exploring Champagne Valley and nearby hikes while still feeling private and secluded. The hosts were lovely and very warm too. Would definitely recommend Nyathi Hideaway to anyone looking for a scenic and tranquil escape in the Drakensberg. Looking forward to coming back again.

We had a lovely two-night stay. The donkey theme of the tack house is adorable - love it! Stunning views and peaceful surroundings. We almost didn't want to leave. Loads of activities in the area. We went for a hike in the mountains just 7 minutes down the road at Monk's Cowl campsite. Wish we had more time to explore the area more. Thanks to our amazing hosts, Sue and Mark. We'll definitely be back.

Fantastic & spacious cottage with all the bells and whistles to make the stay easy & enjoyable. Huge comfortable king size bed, and everything including the bathroom and toilet was squeaky clean. The well equipped kitchen have all the necessary appliances, as well as a gas braai and a wood/charcoal braai for outdoor cooking. The cottage has its own garden with magnificent views of the Drakensberg mountains. Susan and Mark are great hosts, they really have a special place, thank you for a great stay.

I would highly recommend this establishment. There is so much to do in the area. Restaurants are nearby, the Cheese shop has stunning produce. We did the canopy tours, scooter rides, quad bikes and a helicopter flip. Would recommend the area highly.

A homely, comfortable and clean cabin nestled in the breathtaking beauty of the Drakensberg range. It was an amazing experience to sit in the garden and take in all of the majesty around me. Truly memorable. A special mention to the owners, who went the extra mile to make sure I got there ok and checked in without a hitch. Their communication was the best I have come across on AirBnB. I wish I could have stayed much longer.

Over and above our expectation. Ever more beautiful in real life than in the pictures. From the moment before we arrived till the time we checked out, we felt welcome and at home. We extended our stay twice and cannot wait to visit them again. From the pet goat, nightly roaming dear, magnificent night stars display and the heart warming and sincere staff, all round the best break away we ever had.

This place was everything we expected it to be and more. We had miscalculated our check-in time but our host and staff were super flexible and welcomed us. The house that we stayed in was warm, extremely clean and backed up with an stunning view of the mountains. The staff that moved around the villa were so helpful. We were running low on gas for the stove, within an hour or two, they had brought a replacement ready to go for our convenience. My wife and I enjoyed our 3 nights here and we look forward to staying here again in the future. Thank you Sue and Mark for allowing us to stay here. Thank you to Aunt Flo who was so friendly and welcoming when we arrived right until we left.

Accomodation was great! I felt comfortable and at home. The kitchen is well equipped with everything needed to cook. The queen sized bed is super comfortable. A fireplace and gas heater is provided - just make sure to bring your own wood and firelighters. The unit is situated in a fantastic location and the views of Champagne Castle from the veranda are breathtaking! Two downsides - the untimely automated messages from the booking agents I received after checking in and the JBL damage deposit - R400 non refundable which adds to the cost or R2500 refundable 7 days later - I wasn't prepared to have to wait for my funds to be returned a week later. I highly recommend and would return!

The Tack Room at Nyathi is the ideal space for a couple to experience the beauty and peace of the Drakensberg. The setting is magnificent with amazing views of the mountains and rolling green lawns. It is also situated close to the start of all the major trails of the Monks Cowl Berg area. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need to prepare meals. The hosts were responsive and helpful and the housekeeper, Flo, was very friendly and efficient. We look forward to returning when next visit the Berg.

Place was absolutely gorgeous! The view was breath taking. We spent a lot of time just seated outside looking at the view. The entire place was well cleaned. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Loved that they supply a gas heater and fire place which was needed when it got a bit cold. The bed is super comfy and spacious. Susan was great at communicating if we needed assistance with anything. It was our first time visiting the Drakensburg and this place definitely made it a memorable experience!

We LOVE LOVE LOVED this place. The Tack Room was just perfect. Everything is tastefully designed and well thought out. The kitchen had everything you needed and more. The views were beautiful and the location was perfect - just 2kms away from walks in the mountains. There is a pub and restaurant down the road if you don't feel like cooking. The owners were staying in the main house at the time and were so friendly - inviting us over to sit by their fire pit. We had such a lovely time we wish we had stayed longer. The only negative I felt was the lack of space to put our suitcases. The room is very compact and has shelves, but thinking it might be better to get rid of them and put a large shelf to place a bag? Just a thought for an otherwise perfect room!

Nyathi Hideaway was surprisingly refreshing. Woke up to beautiful mountain scenery and the fact that the hideaway is separated with its own fence is marvellous. Waking up to birds chirping at night its peaceful also, definitely coming back.
