Great location – Danny Park is right on the doorstep, and there’s a lovely walk to the high street through the sheep fields. The house is just as shown in the photos. Cleaning could definitely have been better, and it could use more ventilation, but overall we had a nice stay.

The location was beautiful and ideal for Brighton.. Sadly, we felt it was not value for money for the following reasons: Dust on the plates and dishes and mould in the bathroom Absolutely nothing there other than tea and 3 espresso pods ( there were 4 adults for 4 nights) - no salt and pepper, no dishwasher tablets or washing powder or even kitchen roll The small bedroom had a door which didn’t close which caused noise issues for our 17 months old child as we had a 3 month old baby The 2 single beds were poor. The one you could feel the wood base when you were turning over We did inform Michelle and she did bring dishwasher tablets and salt and pepper but nothing else was addressed. There were daily attempts at upselling and they tried to charge me for baby items that were already on the listing. Then they accused us of damaging paintwork which we hadn’t and damaging the oven we hadn’t used. There was steam coming out of my ears. This was being said because we had made a complaint .

We had a wonderful stay. Great for the kids with lots of toys and books and great surrounding countryside with rabbits and sheep on your doorstep. Internet wasn’t working when we first arrived but communication with the host was speedy and we managed to sort it out relatively quickly. Cottage was cosy and great for a family, a couple of the appliance could do with being updated. We would definitely stay again when we’re next in the area. Thanks

A beautiful quaint cottage, perfect for a mini break, even with children. Don't tell them the WiFi password and they enjoyed played with the toys, hide and seek, finding the original cottage features. So peaceful and a few minutes drive from some great activities. We would highly recommend.

The house itself is beautiful, a lovely cosy space in a stunning location, lots of walks nearby, the village is well equipped and the train station is within walking distance. The house is run by a management company who quickly responded to a number of problems, however it was unfortunate that the cottage wasn't checked before arrival. I don't normally leave reviews, but with the overall cost of the house you might expect a little more attention to detail. A couple of improvements would make the property perfect! The only other slight frustration was the amount of promotional messages we received from Huluki Stays before and during our stay to 'upgrade'. We agreed we would love to stay again as it is such a beautiful spot and a lovely cottage, and overall we would recommend.

We lived in Danny Cottage for three months and it was our home away from home. We loved practical way in which the living room, dining room and kitchen (and bathroom/loo) are positioned . We had many happy meals, and cosy evenings playing Cluedo or backgammon. There is ample storage, and all the equipment that is required for everyday life. I loved that we were entering the house through the ample laundry room, and the tumble drier was a life saver on the weeks the rain didn’t give us a break. The location is again very practical; we felt like we were in nature yet could walk t the shops/station if needed Michelle and her team were responsive, and solved every issue that came along. We miss Danny Cottage. We recommended Danny Lodge’s cottage wholeheartedly.

Danny Cottage is a great place to stay. It's 10 minutes from the A23 so excellent links to Brighton, Haywards Heath and Crawley, The cottage suited our family and a travel cot was provided for our 9 month old grand-daughter. We were 3 adults and two children under 2. There are plenty of kids toys to keep the children amused on cold winter days. This old cottage was very cosy inside and had a modern bathroom upstairs with a shower and a bath. The cottage was spacious and well laid out and is situated down a narrow lane right next to a country park. You can walk into Hurstpierpoint in 15 minutes where there are plenty of restaurants and cafés to enjoy and a good sized Co-op!

This is an excellent house, one of our favourites that we’ve stayed in. It is a great location and perfect for a country escape yet still with plenty to do on your doorstep. A simple setup in the house that works very well for the cosy cottage vibe that we wanted. Lots for kids too, games and books etc. The hosts were responsive which also helped.

We had a lovely stay at Danny Cottage. Unfortunately when we arrived there was some rubbish that had been left in the garden but the agents arranged for a cleaner to come that evening and sorted it all very quickly. It's a nice, roomy property in a lovely location and was very close to family for us. We paid extra to use the sofa bed which worked well and the children loved the toys and games provided, the adults loved the coffee machine! The outside is in need of some TLC including the garden. Also, the parking is tight if you have a larger car but the additional parking round the corner is much more spacious. Lovely walking routes nearby and lots of nice towns/villages too, great location!

Lovely cottage in a great location, walkable to shops and pubs but felt very much in the countryside with country lanes (and sheep) right on the doorstep. The space worked really well for our family of 4, including the dining space with big table. Hotel-style bed-linen and towels were a real plus, as was the newly-refurbished upstairs bath/shower room. Agree with some previous reviews that the exterior of the cottage could do with a bit of TLC, as well as making the outdoor seating area a bit more inviting. Locally, Washbrooks Farm is a great place to take kids, and we also had a lovely time at Nymans (National Trust property), and Hever Castle was absolutely stunning.

A beautiful cottage in a perfect location! We enjoyed the open living spaces, especially with a baby and 4 adults. The cottage is next to a big open space which was perfect for our dog, and we walked down to Danny House several times as well as to the village. Had a lovely roast at The Horse Inn Hurst. Great farm and soft play nearby for baby too (Washbrooks)! The hosts were very responsive and communicative when we were having issues with wifi (we’d knocked a cable out), and were keen to make sure our stay was perfect. I’d really recommend staying here. Thank you for everything.

Really enjoyed our stay at Danny Cottage. The house was very clean and well equipped and the host had added a Christmas tree which was much appreciated as we stayed over the festive season. The beds were all very comfortable, towels and toiletries provided. The space is more than welcoming and nicely decorated. Communication was great from the host’s team - this house is being run by a business not an individual, but it’s clearly working well. The house is really well situated for walks and amenities. A few small issues that weren’t a massive issue to us as our stay was short but could’ve been issues if we were using the space for a longer holiday. A plumbing issue in the upstairs bathroom persisted despite our best efforts to follow instructions to avoid leaks. The cooker is in need of an update. The outside of the house is looking tired which seems a shame as it’s so cute and could be cheered with only light investment. Overall I recommend this property for a short stay.

Charming little cottage and a great overall stay. Superb location and proximity to the South Downs was brilliant and not far from the station for trips into Brighton. Good setup and base for a long family stay. Exterior needs a bit of TLC, and the plumbing issues were slightly frustrating. However, would certainly stay again and would recommend.

Lovely cottage with a really nice little garden. just spacious enough for 2 families with toddlers. Overall we had a very good stay! Beds were comfy, everything was very clean, the kitchen was really well equipped and there were lots of toys and board games. All essentials (oil, salt, some spices, etc) were available. The surrounding area was very pretty and perfect to explore with children. Professional instruction manual with all info one could possibly need. Communication was excellent and very friendly- I would have just hoped for a little more flexibility regarding the checkin time (i had booked early checkin, but this hadn't been noticed and the fee was refunded when my request couldn't be met unfortunately. - but it still meant that we had to kill a LOT of time from our arrival to Gatwick (7am) till we could finally go to the cottage (3 pm).) Thank you!

Staying at this cottage was a dream come through, very cozy, felt like a home and not a rental. Exactly as seen in the photos. Beautiful sunsets from the front of the house. The perfect mix of dated cottage on the outside and modern upgrades inside. The showers!!! We can't explain it but the water in this home is divine. Hard to leave the shower. Close distance to the train station, multiple bus stops, the shops, restaurants and public foot paths. Loved using the fireplace and we'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Very nice cottage with suitable facilities, low ceilings on the ground floor so beware tall people. Very lovely setting and nice cottage layout. We stayed two people with our dog. Feels like a holiday rental rather than an Airbnb, so it’s a bit more sterile than a home, though the kitchen is outfitted pretty well. Great walking areas just outside the cottage. Excellent communication. A few cleanliness issues that were disappointing for us: There was a mold issue in the upstairs bathroom that hadn’t been disclosed before we arrived. They said they were in the middle of repairing it, but it was still an issue during our stay. Other minor (but annoying) cleanliness issues: The trash bin bag in the kitchen was too small for the trash bin, so the bin bag fell down every time it was used. There were no dish clothes for drying up or for cleaning the kitchen, so we used an extra towel. Some of the dishes and pans seemed a bit dirty.

Danny Lodge is a quaint old cottage in an absolutely stunning location. We walked for miles on numerous well sign-posted public paths in idillic countryside but at the same time it is very close to local towns and villages. The lodge is comfortable, well maintained for a property of its age with all the equipment and facilities you are likely to need. We stayed for 10 days and it had everything we needed for a longer stay. Communication with, and help from Rachael, the manager, was excellent. Would not hesitate to recommend Danny Lodge.

We had a great weekend in Danny Lodge. The cottage was as lovely as expected from the photographs. We were very comfortable too. It was perfect. Very good communication with the cottage managers, Michelle and Rachael . It's in a great position for getting down to Brighton or up to London as Hassocks Station is just a 20 minute walk away. It feels like you are in the middle of the countryside but the centre of lovely Hurstpierpoint is very close by. We loved strolling out for coffee and pastries in the morning! We will certainly come back when we next need to be in Sussex. Many thanks, Matt.

Coming from France, we (2 adults, 2 children) spent 2 wonderful weeks at Danny Lodge. It is located in an amaizing countryside that walkers and runners will love. Also rather close to many locations to visit: Brighton, Lewes, easy access to London by train from Hassocks, and we recommend the visit of Arundel's castle. We had the chance to meet the owners Sophie & Matt and their lovely children. What a good time!

Danny Lodge is in a beautiful location, a walk to the village of Hurstpierpoint which is a really lovely bustling village and surrounded by picturesque sussex countryside. The cottage was very well equipped, I was a bit worried it would be on the small side for a family of 5 but it was fine, having 2 bathrooms really helped and there was plenty of storage space to unpack. Rachael and Michelle were very quick and efficient with communication as well. All in all we really enjoyed our stay.

A fairly nice place that could use a bit of sprucing up and replacement of equipment and furnishings- a little overpriced compared to how the place is furnished and equipped. Very pretty location. Comfortable beds. Could use another sofa in the lounge and a better arrangement for the tv. Agent very helpful and responsive when we arrived and reported upstairs shower did not work.

Lovely house in a peaceful location - we enjoyed a relaxing weekend here and would highly recommend it! With country and seaside both available, it is the ideal place to savour the best of both worlds. Lovely surprise to find so many dvds available and several toys for the kids to play with. Plus great communication from booking to arrival!

This cottage is spacious, clean and comfortable. Looks a bit like a fairy tale cottage from the outside. Very well-equipped kitchen, which was great, and comfortable sofa from which to enjoy DVDs on a big screen. Best thing about this cottage is location if you’re a walker - right at the gate towards Danny Hall, with numerous walking routes literally on the doorstep. We never did the same route twice and loved them all. (Check out the 5 ‘circular walks around Hassocks’ routes) Also a nice garden with a picnic table. Dog owners note: it’s not fully enclosed. Had a great sleep, though note the beds are one double (i.e. relatively narrow if you are used to a Queen / King), and three singles. There was something wrong with one of the showers and they sent round a plumber the same day. Communication was great and we had a lovely stay. Confirm about 12 mins walk to Hurstpierpoint high street (restaurants and shops) / 25 mins to Hassocks station (even though the map on the airbnb link suggests its a 40 minute walk - it isnt!). You can make these walks longer (and more scenic) by going across fields instead of along the road if you want!

Danny lodge offers a wonderful tranquil setting with great amenities. The three bedrooms are well sized and well laid out. Parking for more than one car is provided behind the second house. Shops and decent pubs all easily drivable. We will definitely return and look forward to another amazing stay.

The cottage is so charming and quaint in a perfect location, walking distance to Hurstpierpoint, at the entrance to the South Downs and close to Brighton. The cottage was a perfect place to hang out over the wet Easter weekend; it is spacious and cosy and there were loads of DVDs and games to entertain us. A big bonus for us was that it was doggie friendly which meant we could all go away together.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage - Sophie had even arranged for snow and sledging on the hill outside!

Great access to the facilities of the village and beautiful surrounding countryside. Cottage is quirky and of a size expected of a period property but facilities are modern and the cottage is well managed and nicely hosted.

This cottage is such a lovely place. It’s so cosy, very welcoming and has everything you could possibly need. The location was just what we wanted for walks. The managers of the property were so helpful, very quick at responding and made the stay so easy. Thank you so much, we’ll be back at some point. Loved the special touches, prosecco on arrival and The White Company bedding!
