Fantastic stay at The Bolt Hole, a beautiful property and fantastic location for exploring Winchcombe and the surrounding areas with our dog. The property had everything we needed for our weekend stay, and couldn’t have been more dog friendly with the addition of a dog bed, treats and other accessories you’d need for your visit. Plenty of local parking options from free on street parking to very low cost local car parks within a 3-5 minute walk of the property. Thanks Amanda, will definitely be returning on our next visit to Winchcombe.

We had a wonderful stay at The Bolt Hole. Amanda was the perfect host, providing helpful details before check in and being on hand throughout our stay. We had one issue with the water however Amanda was so responsive that it was resolved within 15 minutes. The property itself was spacious, clean, cosy and in the perfect location. We loved the beautiful bath and super cosy bed! We couldn’t recommend this property enough and would love to stay again one day Thank you Amanda and the team :)

Amanda was very welcoming and helpful throughout our whole stay. The Bolt Hole itself was lovely, containing all of the amenities listed in the description. The bed was extremely comfortable and the aircon was a nice addition. Very well located in the centre of town, but also very peaceful and quiet despite it being a bank holiday. The only issue with our stay was the WiFi not working, but Amanda was quick to respond and is getting it resolved with the provider. A genuinely lovely stay!

A comfortable property; a good bed and sofa. It is well equipped. There is plenty of room, not cramped at all. Parking was easy; as well as ideas given by Amanda, you can also park about 100 metres up the road outside the Plaisterer’s pub between 4pm and 10 am, which takes account of the restrictions. We would recommend the Red Lion in North Street for food and pleasant ambience. Also the Royal Oak at Gretton, about a 5 min drive.

The Bolt Hole truly is a place to escape and unwind. Behind the charming facade is a peaceful, serene little cottage totally perfect for a quiet couple’s getaway. We booked to spend a quiet anniversary weekend in the Cotswolds and it was perfect. Winchcombe is such a great place to be based with restaurants and pubs a stones throw away. And the surrounding countryside beautiful! Being able to enjoy a luxurious bath and cook in a brilliantly appointed kitchen made the weekend even more enjoyable. Thank you to Amanda for friendly, professional comms and sharing a gorgeous cottage.

Truly a beautiful cottage in the heart of a beautiful town. Amanda's cottage really is a gem within walking distance of Sudley Castle, bakeries, amazing restaurants. Nice and clean, great shower, really comfy bed and some lovely welcome treats included. Winchcombe is a great location, lots of free on street parking a two minute walk down the road. Highly recommend 5 North Street restaurant, the most incredible 5 course taster menu. Great location in the heart of Winchcombe but also only a short 10 min drive or so to nearby towns like Bourton on the water etc. Highly recommend staying here, we had a perfect weekend.

A really fantastic stay. A lovely place with everything with in walking distance. The house is done to a very high standard and the woodburner was great. It's worth noting that there is not a door on the bedroom, although it is up some stair so you get privacy. I only mention it because we have traveled with a 1 year old and would have rather have been able to shut a door on her at bed time. It doesn't take away from a 5 star stay though!

Charming stay in Winchcombe. Felt like I was living in The Holiday! Kind of sleepy being there just after the new year, but was able to rest, get some nice walks and good sleep. The place is as described. Easy to walk to a grocery store, pubs, coffee shops. Close to the train station in Cheltenham. Really enjoyed myself.

We had such a lovely stay here! The house was very clean and had everything that we needed for a couple of nights. It’s definitely worth noting that the parking is a bit of a walk away, around 5 minutes- so not directly outside the property. There also isn’t a garden (we didn’t realise- totally our fault) so we had to take the dog out the front and into the street to go to the toilet, which was quite some distance away until you reached grass. The little town it’s situated in doesn’t have very much going on, but it is a GREAT base for exploring the rest of the Cotswolds has to offer. Overall we did really enjoy our stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the Bolthole, which is very centrally located in Winchcombe. The kitchen was well equipped and we used it to cook our own dinners on several nights. The bathroom was very nice with a good old fashioned bath. The apartment was perhaps not quite as big as we expected and there isn't any outside space. Amanda was very helpful and responsive.

We had the best family getaway at the Bolt Hole. Winchcomb was absolutely beautiful and we loved exploring the castle grounds and local walks. A stones throw from Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold, which were both beautiful. The house itself was cosy and had everything we needed. Particular favourites were the very comfortable bed, big bath and the local gin and tonics provided in the welcome basket. Overall a perfect stay, we can’t wait to come back!

My boyfriend and I had a brilliant first holiday together in Winchcombe. It was such a beautiful place to stay and we enjoyed every minute of it. We enjoyed food at both the White Hart and the Lion Inn and had delicious food at both. Explored Bourton on the Water for the day and loved the convenience of this being nearby. Gorgeous little cottage - we had a lovely stay there. Amanda had included some lovely thoughtful touches like a bed in the kitchen for my Cockerpoo & a jar of treats which he kept going back to. The bed is BLISSFULLY comfy and the rolltop bath is exactly what you want after a long day walking in rainy hills.

We stayed during the first weekend of December and arrived late on the Friday night. Check in was easy and once unloaded we found parking down the road without a problem. The amenities at The Bold Hole were great and we loved the little local touches of chocolates, bath salts and Cotswold gin. The wood burner and bath were very much appreciated with the weather being so cold. There are lots of beautiful places locally and we recommend visiting Bourton on the Water. We would stay here again.

A lovely stay at Amanda’s place. Just right for a cosy get away in an olden town with lots of history to explore. Had an impromptu tour of the local church grounds and visited the local castle. Many of the streets and lanes are 12/13 century, so perfect for anyone traveling from abroad who wants to see a historic English town. The town has a local feel with everyone stopping to chat and smiles all around. If I was to be in the area again, I’d be happy to stay at Amanda’s a second time.

Lovely apartment with all mod cons located near the town centre, there are plenty of shops,eateries and good pubs near by. Amanda pays a lot of attention to detail and makes you feel very welcome by including nice touches such as a goodie basket filled with lovely produce from the Cotswolds. Although we left our dogs at home this time, there was a comfortable bed, water bowl and hand made treats left for them.

Very comfy and clean, we enjoyed an early spring break here. It’s very c venue r for exploring Winchcombe. We brought our dog who is a bit of a country bumpkin so we wondering how it would go with no outdoors, but there’s a perfect little stream side walk just five minutes away to the right as you leave, and enough grass verges for comfort breaks in the dark! In fact it was a delight to meet other locals walking their dogs at dawn! So friendly! The Bolt Hole is well equipped, just make sure you have what supplies you need before Sunday, especially out of season. We were there on a very chilly weekend and only arrived after shops closed on Saturday so we could have done with more firewood included in the price. But the bed was super comfy and our dog loved his super fluffy blankets and dog bed with treats!

This was the best little break we could have asked for! The home was so cozy and everything was so thoughtful. The bed was so comfy and had plenty of pillows to chose from. Had a lovely weekend at The Bolt Hole. The location in the historic town is excellent, providing easy access to the facilities the town offers in addition to easy walks starting directly in Winchcombe. The Bolt Hole itself is nicely done up and well equipped. Parking was easy. Communications were excellent with plenty of pre-arrival instructions, a detailed guide in the accomodation and attentive to make sure everything was going ok, it was :-). We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to others looking for a break in the Cotswolds.

We have just returned from a lovely stay at at The Bolt Hole. The cottage was beautiful, the housekeeper provided our dog with a comfy bed, dog bowls, treats and towels which was great. Everywhere is so dog friendly, we could take her in all thr pubs and shops and everyone we met was so helpful and friendly. It is in an ideal location in Winchcombe for exploring Winchcombe itself as well as other villages and towns in The Cotswolds. There are some nice walks around too. Some recommendations in Winchcombe: The White Hart Inn for a full English breakfast. The Corner Cupboard Inn for a drink and pub food. The Winchcombe restaurant is an Indian restaurant and takeaway on the High Street in Winchcombe which the locals recommended to us. Must visit: Bourton on the Water Chipping Campden Stow on the Wold Stroud We will be booking to return 🙂

The cottage was very cute and well maintained. I’m so glad it was dog friendly, we brought our two vizslas and they loved the Cotswolds. Winchcombe is a central village for exploring Broadway, Bourton on the Water, Stowe, Chipping Camden and more. The White Hart pub was the best place to eat in town, we also ate at 5 North for something a bit fancier but honestly loved the White Hart pub. Anyways Amanda was very responsive and helpful and no complaints at all! Great stay.

The Bolt Hole is an absolutely lovely cottage in a brilliant location. We enjoyed being on the high street in Winchcombe, just steps away from Honey Bea’s Cafe, North St Bakery and three great pubs. The cottage is spacious yet cosy and contains everything you could think of needing. We loved the tasteful decor and split-level design, and the upstairs bedroom and bathroom were a real haven. Amanda is a lovely host - she enquired after us during our visit and gave suggestions of places to go. We thoroughly recommend The Bolt Hole as a perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds.

The Bolt Hole was a great base to go exploring the Cotswolds from. We enjoyed doing circular walks around The Slaughters, Snowshill, Broadway and Broadway Tower. Luckily it was very hot and dry, as I'm sure some of the routes would be extremely muddy. We parked down the hill, as there was always space. There was also a poo bin and a walk along the stream, which enabled our dog to stretch his legs before jumping in the car. On arrival we were greeted with a welcome bottle of wine and nibbles - as was our dog! The property was extremely tastefully decorated and in walking distance from local pubs (The White Hart was good for dinner but best to book), a great bakery (rolls for lunch) and a big Co-op up the hill. The bed was very comfy and The Bolt Hole catered for almost all our needs. Amanda was very attentive, as was Sarah the housekeeper. The house manual was very helpful as were the reviews in the guest book. The only downside for our situation was opening the front door on to a busy road. We needed to make sure our dog was on a short lead first. However that isn't the fault of The Bolt Hole, as the description is accurate. It just made us realise it would be safer to have some outside space. All in all we had a lovely stay and will definitely consider coming back in the cooler months, so we can experience the log burner!

The Bolthole is a great place to base yourself for a stay in the Cotswolds. The place was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. Was also very kind to provide a nice cosy bed for our little pooch to rest her head after her Cotswold adventures for the day! Communication was great before hand with really clear instructions on where to park and how to access the property. Amanda also emailed both before and also during our stay to check everything was ok and if we needed anything. All in all a great stay and we wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Had a great stay. Only thing is that we struggled with our dogs with no garden. This has nothing to do with Amanda, as it’s clearly noted on the Airbnb advert. Otherwise the house is lovely. Very clean and open space. Great location with lots of other towns nearby. Thanks very much.

A great ‘Bolt Hole’ in a very convenient location on the main road through Winchcombe and perfect for the races at Cheltenham. It was everything I had hoped for and very comfortable and homely. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a break in the Cotswolds.

Lovely house with shops and pubs just seconds from the doorstep, exactly what we needed for a short getaway. Much more spacious than we thought it was going to be and we absolutely loved the wood burner, comfy bed and huge bath. Check out the Lion Inn just round the corner as we really enjoyed it there for food and drinks and also try and book and 5 North Street if you can! We also used the long stay car park (£1 a day) a 5 minute walk from the house on back lane and it was ideal. Thank you for a wonderful stay x

We had an amazing stay at the Bolt Hole! Communication was amazing from start to finish- Amanda was super responsive and helpful. When we arrived, we were blown away with how homely, clean & lovely the house was. The location is also amazing with everything you need on the doorstep. Amanda had some amazing recommendations- we were spoilt for choice! We also headed into Cheltenham which is only around 20 mins from the Bolt Hole. We just wish we could've stayed for longer. Will definitely be coming back :)

Amanda our host was incredibly helpful, attentive and clear with all of the instructions. Even though the property doesn’t come with parking, we had no trouble finding parking which was always a short 5 minute stroll away. We would recommended this lovely cottage to anyone looking to stay in the cotswolds.

Had a lovely stay at The Bolt Hole. The flat is modern and very clean, and we really appreciated the little touches that Amanda added when we arrived. Communication from beginning to end was excellent and Amanda was very quick to respond to any queries. The flat is located in the centre of Winchcombe with free parking very close to the flat and was ideal to explore the town and surrounding area. We throughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely look to stay in one of Amanda’s cottages again in the future.

This perfect cottage had everything we could possibly want and need :- Perfect location for getting about. Central to the town of Winchcombe All essential shops and restaurants on the doorstep. The Bolthole is just amazing. We stayed for 7 nights for our Minimoon and couldn’t have been happier. The cottage is so welcoming and Amanda has gone above and beyond to ensure the home has everything that guests need, all the way from a fully equipped kitchen, to matches, walking guides, playing cards, toiletries and even spare bulbs and batteries. It feels so homely in The Bolthole and is so quiet there that sometimes you forget you’re actually in the middle of a little village! There is an abundance of pubs, bakeries and little shops in the main village, 2 minutes from the cottage and you’re only a short drive from most attractions in the Cotswolds. We particularly loved Bourton on the water and Broadway. We enjoyed our stay so much here that we are going to look at booking another of Amanda’s homes for another short stay with our pooch. A stunning cottage with everything you could want or need. Located in the heart of Winchcombe, the bolt hole is the perfect base for exploring the north Cotswolds such as Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water and Daylesford, amongst many others. The cottage itself was spotless and very well decorated, everything was as perfect as the images show. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend 4 days in the Cotswolds. We had a lovely 2 night stay with Amanda. However there's a few points we should mention. The place is dog friendly but there's no garden to let the dog wee in morning and evening. I feel like this should be made clearer. Also the parking is down the road it's fine but a walk when pregnant. So just 2 points to watch out for. The place is lovely and we went to 2 local pubs which were lush. Modern and ample space for 2 and a dog. We popped our crate up in the kitchen with lots of space. We had a couple of issues which Amanda responded to promptly and were resolved

Amazing stay atThe Bolt Hole. It had everything we needed with a VERY comfortable bed and the roll top bath was a nice extra touch.We had no issues at all and the locations is great.I would recommend checking restaurant opening times & reserving tables as a lot of them seemed to differ due to covid. Sharon the housekeeper was excellent and very accommodating. Dogs are welcome although an oversight on our behalf was that there is no garden (our mistake for not checking although it didn’t impact our stay in any way). Would definitely recommend for a couples getaway in the Cotswolds!

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for having us -- James absolutely loved the place (was perfect for his birthday trip!), and we got all the activities in, including cycling, walks, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, etc., thanks to your extensive list of recommendations. It was great fun and given the central location, easy to get to most places. Also, Restaurant 5 was delightful, superb food, great service and wonderful staff who gave us plenty of suggestions of places to visit in addition to yours. Thanks for the heads up on it. We had a fantastic time at the Bolt Hole. The space is amazing and the location is in the centre of town near lots of restaurants and shops. Check in and out were very easy and well communicated, as was communication with the house keeper. The parking was easy to find and there were plenty of spaces available. We had a great few nights stay at the bolt hole. Sparkling clean and a lovely bath tub which was very much needed after a long walk! Comfortable for both us and our dog. The only thing to bare in mind, especially with a dog is there is no immediate outside space but the field is only a short walk behind. We would definitely come back, winchcombe had some lovely walks, pubs and cafes which made it perfect for our long weekend.

My wife and I had a lovely stay at The Bolt Hole. It was a peaceful and relaxing stay made very easy by Amanda who was very helpful and informative. The interior was beautiful and homely and exactly what we were looking for. We felt it was ideally located being walking distance to quite a few shops and restaurants a special mention to 5 North St as we had a fantastic meal which made the stay extra special. We would both highly recommend The Bolt Hole for anyone looking to get away for a relaxing walking holiday.

As someone has previously said, the pictures do not do this place justice! Amanda’s place is the perfect getaway for a couple and we loved the fact it was dog friendly. The kitchen had everything we needed for the occasional self catered meal. The location is ideal, so close to many places to eat and drink out, all within a maximum 5 minute walk. Sharon, our contact for any issues, was friendly and answered all our questions very promptly! We we highly recommend the Bolt Hole.

The bolt hole was an idyllic little place to spend a long weekend. Amanda was so accommodating and a great communicator before we arrived, providing a perfect amount of info about the property, the village and the local area. The space - the bathroom was a highlight and the bath a real treat. The kitchen is really nice and a lovely area to have nice leisurely breakfasts in. The village - the village is charming and classically “cotswolds” and isn’t as touristy as some of the other popular towns in the area. Would stay again and recommend to others

We had a wonderful stay at Amanda’s beautiful cottage. We were pleasantly surprised by Winchcombe itself - a beautiful small town with lovely pubs, boutiques and food options plus great walks straight from the cottage. We had a nice walk to the castle nearby. Amanda is a great host - she was very communicative and sent lots of info in advance. The cottage itself is gorgeous - so stylish and cosy, perfect for the short break we had planned with our newborn. We went to a local pub, The Lion Inn, for dinner one night and had a Chinese takeaway the following evening and watched a film on the big tv in the cottage with the log burner on. Bliss! Would definitely recommend for a break in the cotswolds.

The Bolt Hole cottage is exactly as it's pictured, maybe even better. Thank you, Amanda, for all the little extras. There was everything we needed to be comfortable - we even cooked a pheasant dinner for our Canadian Thanksgiving. Add to this the fact that Winchcombe is the perfect place to stay for a Cotswolds adventure. We toured all around but in the end loved "our own" village the best. Made many new friends at our local and enjoyed walking the trails out of town. We can't wait to come back and stay longer next time.

a lovely, well presented One bed bed cottage, with ample space and facilities. The bed is absolutely to die for ... so comfy !! The Bathroom is fantastic also. Being rather cold when we arrived we tried out the heating ( underfloor) which was a god send.

Stylish, inviting and homely accommodation that caters for you every need. Sparkling clean, and thoughtful touches of wine and biccies (human and dog) on arrival. Ace location in the centre of Winchcombe within easy walking distance to great pubs, shops, cafes and restaurants. All day parking for £1 too within a very short stroll of the accommodation. Have already booked my next trip in December!

A lovely and cosy hideaway perfect for a couple with a small dog. Cosy , clean and comfortable. Ideally situated close to all amenities and local pubs and restaurant s. Local walks are easy to find and access. Placed on right on the busy high street of Winchcombe with moderate traffic throughout the day and evening but never a problem and only adds to the character. Highly recommend and would be perfect in the winter with the fire glowing and a glass of wine.

We stayed at the beautiful bolt hole for our mini moon and it could not have been more perfect! The place is done up to an incredible standard and had everything in it that we needed and more. All of the little extra details were hugely appreciated and we love the personalised map! Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get away in a lovely relaxing area. The Bolt Hole is a fabulous place situated within reach of many of the Cotswolds villages. The house is super clean and high spec and our host Amanda from the time of booking provided us with lots of information. We had a great stay with our dog and would definitely return.

Lovely cottage. Designer touches. Good location to visit other Cotswolds villages. Food in town was all very good. Only challenge was parking, but this is a Winchcombe issue and not a cottage issue. Find the carpark and you will be good.

The Bolt Hole is a must! Absolutely stunning cottage and brilliant hospitality. Close to everything you need and a short drive from places like Bourton-on-Water. Brilliant local food and pubs and perfect for taking the dogs for a country adventure. The host could not have a better set up for a Cotswold retreat. Absolutely brilliant.

We had a wonderful stay at the 'Bolt hole', it was just what we needed. It was a perfect size for us, the decor was lovely and it was spotlessly clean. We really enjoyed all the little touches you included, such as the dog bed, bowl, treats and towel. The amenities were great and the little welcome box was lovely. I particularly appreciated the information pack detailing places to visit and eat, how to operate the appliances and the personalised walking map of the area. The bed was so comfortable and the sheets were amazing. The bathroom was also a lovely surprise with the bath included. Winchombe was a lovely place to visit and we just had the best time. Beautiful house in a perfect location, we spent a lovely weekend here! On arriving we were so pleased to see all the thoughtful small touches, wine, dog bed & treats, detailed explanation of wonderful walks. The whole property is beautifully decorated & spotlessly clean! The view from the bedroom window was breathtaking! Situated in Winchmore high street with some great shops. We had a really tasty & reasonably priced meal at The White Hart Inn & the Honey Bea’s Café was delightful! Beautiful countryside walks right on the door step & only a short drive from the stunning views at Cleeve Hill. Would highly recommend visiting!
