The house is lovely and has a lot of potential. It needs to be maintained. For the price we paid we were expecting a cleaner space with maintained amenities. Nespresso coffee machine is leaking and hasn't been descaled for ages, kettle is full of calcium deposits, washing machine is full of mold and there was a water leak the first time we used it. We spent 3 hours cleaning the floors. Filippa was very responsive and sent a plumber. Kitchen drawers and cabinet are so messy with food crumbs and oily pans and pots. In short, for the price listed, the place would benefit from a proper cleaning, decluttering and organizing, with some updated or at least maintained appliances.

We had 2 wonderful weeks in this house; the location is excellent; within walking distance of town and beach and beautiful views. The house is dated, but functional, everything you need is there. If it's very hot, the swimming pool is wonderful, but the water is ice cold. Because the house is quite high, it is quite windy and sitting outside in the evening is only possible when it is very warm. In short, a wonderful holiday but we found the price high in relation to the outdated state of the house. Communication with Filipa was excellent, she responded quickly and kindly.

Absolutely spotless house, very open and spacious. The pool and garden were amazing and we had a fantastic time in Sesimbra. It’s about 15 mins into town but I’d recommend having a few drinks as it’s steep walk back! The house has literally everything you might need and good to see a proper charcoal bbq. Thank you Filipa

This villa is in the perfect location. The pool and gardens are exceptional. We were very comfortable and felt very safe there. The kitchen facilities are dated but we had everything we needed. Filipa was extremely helpful with every query we had and nothing was too much trouble.

Filipa’s villa in Sesimbra was amazing. Perched a few blocks up from the water with views of the city and castle. Most of the decor is as old as the house, but that’s part of the charm. Lots of windows and sliders make the home feel open to the yard and pool area. Filipa offered a few good restaurant and activity recommendations at check in. The waterfront and restaurants were walkable but you do have a hike back up in elevation to the villa.

Had a lovely stay with the friends. Great view over the town. The hill up to the villa was quite tiring for some of our group to walk up. The house is really well equipped, had a couple of BBQs and had everything we needed. Lovely fire inside as well for the cooler nights as can be breezy up the hill. Lots of firewood. Would recommend if staying in Sesimbra and you want your own pool!

Firstly we had a really lovely holiday. The garden area & pool are really lovely with good furniture. There is also airbeds, parasols & pool toys for you to use. The balcony is great with really nice views over Sesimbra & the harbour. The Wi-Fi is strong & reliable. If you’re looking for a minimalist place furnished with brand new stuff from IKEA this isn’t for you. The villa is full of interesting original items & furniture from all over the globe. I really enjoyed looking at all the fascinating items. Location is a 5-10 mins walk to beach/town centre. The walk back up the hill is a little harder but it will keep you fit. I got used to it but somebody with limited mobility may find it tough. The only slight negative for me was the noise of traffic at times from the road (especially motorcycles), this bothered me more than my wife and kids but I think it’s important to mention. Finally Filipa is an excellent host and did a great job making sure we had a fantastic holiday. Thank you

We loved our stay at Filipa’s villa. Filipa is a very friendly host and the location is fantastic. A short walk down to the beech but high enough up the hill for wonderful views across the bay and out to sea. The pool was much loved by the kids and there is plenty of space for two families.

Beautiful home, great for families with kids. The pool is wonderful and the view is stunning. Our host was very responsive and helpful. The town was located not far but down a large hill. Walking down is easy but getting back up was somewhat difficult. Not a reason to not rent it just may be hard for people with limited mobility. But overall the house and hosts were wonderful. We’d stay there again.

This is a wonderful house! I stayed here for a week with 8 friends and it was fantastic - the house is beautiful, it has a pool, hammocks, 2 lovely lounge areas & nice beds & bathrooms. The kitchen is really well equipped and we used it a lot. There are even floaties for the pool! The village is really easy to reach by car and foot - there are excellent restaurants and cafes. Also highly recommend visiting the beaches in the area. Overall - definitely recommend this place for a holiday with friends!

We had a great time here. The yard and the pool are probably the most beautiful part of the house which we didn't get to use in December but I could see this being amazing in warmer months. Filipa was very friendly and responsive. She also had great suggestions for us. I would definitely come back!

The house has a nice location on top of the hill of the cute town Sesimbra. However, the street next to the house is very loud since it’s heavily used by loud motorcycles. Unfortunately, the house is already pretty old and lots of things are run-down, such as the beds; it‘s full of odds and ends; and most kitchen utilities were not fully cleaned upon our arrival. Moreover, we were very unhappy that during our vacation week we had to accept unannounced gardening work for more than an hour during breakfast time.

What a fantastic stay. We spent a week in Filipa’s house in early June 2022 and it was brilliant. The house is full of character, with plenty of space for two families (we were 4 adults and 4 young children altogether). The pool and garden are beautiful, and our kids also loved sitting in the hammocks on the balcony. The location is really excellent - walking distance (albeit the return is up a steep hill) to the beach with toddlers and 5 year olds meant beachside drinks were regularly enjoyed without the need to drive! And the views over the town are beautiful. Filipa offered some excellent recommendations on local places to eat - the local place doing rotisserie chicken and chips to take away was brilliant, and we would add Portofino down on the beach itself as a fantastic meal for just the grown ups. We couldn’t believe there weren’t more tourists around sesimbra, and particularly on the beaches! We had them pretty much to ourselves a few days, which was a pleasant surprise given it was UK school half term. The local beach is perfect for families. Clean, fine sand, shallow slope into the water perfect for kids playing in the waves, a sheltered section without waves for child friendly swimming as well… and the stunning backdrop of the mountains to the east and harbour to the west. Not to mention a handful of local bars/ice cream shops behind the beach where adults can sit and watch kids play on the beach in the evenings. We loved it. We also really liked the beach 20 mins away at Arrábida - check it out. All in all, a fantastic holiday. Filipa was the perfect host. A friendly welcome, quick replies to any texts we sent asking for information, full marks all around. We hope to come back!!!

We rented the place for 5 people. Unfortunately I was not able to go for health reasons, but my colleagues had a wonderful time at Filipa's villa. Filipa was also very easy to communicate with. I hope to have the opportunity to go to Sesimbra soon :)

We were disappointed to find that there was a crane next door to the villa , which operated from 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday and was very noisy! The villa also has an old spiral staircase up to the master bedroom which was not in any of the photos and was not suitable for our party as it was very narrow and felt unsafe. Generally the villa needs some updating .

The best Airbnb we’ve ever stayed at! It was the perfect home base for our family of 5 for 2 weeks, but it could’ve easily accommodated 2 more people. The house is even more beautiful than the pictures and the location is perfect as it is walking distance into town. It’s truly a gem. Filipa was super responsive. Would highly recommend!

We loved the house and were lucky enough to have a wonderful time and everything went well. Less good points that should be improved in my opinion because for the amount we pay are not acceptable: the fact that they did not guarantee from the day before or on the same day that the outdoor lighting and the pool were working. We pay for an outdoor space that ends up being only feasible during the day. Regarding the beds, the only thing I have to point out is from the room where I stayed (with two twin beds) I think an investment (which is minimum) should be made on the bed sheets in this room. All the others were ok the shelter is smaller than the mattress and every night it curled up. Just like the sheets that also looked like single in a bed and a half. At this stage where hygiene care is more important, I think some objects that I think are personal should be removed in order to minimize what is there to clean. Another thing that scared us a lot was the boiler or heater that looked like it was going to explode for several occasions. One of the nozzles on the stove also didn't make it. After all this we loved the house, the location and it was a lot of fun. It's an original and different house.

Lovely house, amazing pool and close to Sesimbra beach. Went to a nice restaurant Casa Mateus(Centro de Sesimbra) and the food was amazing! Filipa was a great host and she also gave us a recommendation for a babysitter (Isabel) who stayed with our daughter so we could go out for dinner. She was really good with my daughter. Thank you for everything Filipa!

Filipa’s home couldn’t be more perfect. It has such a breathtaking view of the coast and a beautiful yard and pool. Everything was within walking distance. We loved walking to the municipal market in the morning and stopping at one of the bakeries for delicious pastries and coffee. We enjoyed kayaking, visiting a winery and touring Lisbon and Pena Palace.

The house is fantastic, with the beautiful garden and pool, the very special different rooms. We definitely want to come back. The communication is great. Sesimbra has a perfect beach at walking distance (not far, but quite steep) with a nice boulevard with all kinds of restaurants. We needed a car for shopping and for visits to the surrounding places. Lisbon is 3/4 hour driving a way. We had a very beautiful stay with 3 kids (4, 8 and 11 years old). Missing it already!

Beautiful house with lots of space and a great view of Sesimbra and the ocean. Has a super cool indoor fire place, which we did need in early April. Many restaurants are in walking distance, but the house is up on a hill, so be prepared for a little workout. All in all, an amazing place.
