THE SPACE: A one-bedroom apartment on Theobalds Road in the heart of Holborn — 27.5 sqm / 296 sqft of comfortable, self-contained living. Second floor, no lift.

LIVING AREA: Open-plan living and dining with a Smart TV, a sofa bed for a third guest, and a dining table that seats four. Large sash windows over a leafy outlook. Works equally well for a day's work or a night in after the West End.

BEDROOM: A double bedroom with fitted wardrobes, bedside lighting and a heated towel rail. Hotel-quality linen throughout.

BATHROOM: A private bathroom with a walk-in shower, WC and basin.

KITCHEN: A fully equipped kitchen with oven, induction hob, microwave, Nespresso machine, toaster and kettle — everything you need for a self-sufficient stay.

The location is great, near underground and bus links. The British Museum, Covent Garden, and Chinatown are all within a 15-minute walk. However, the stairs are very steep and narrow, making it quite difficult to move large or heavy suitcases up and down. The washing machine is located on the staircase landing outside the room. There was no cooking oil, salt, or pepper provided, even though they were listed in the amenities. Communication with the property manager was frustrating—responses were inconsistent, and some questions had to be repeated multiple times. During my 6-night stay, two issues remained unresolved until I checked out, and some inquiries received no follow up actions at all.
