Right in the heart of the Alfama neighborhood with great views of the river. Very quant and picturesque! A little bit of a hike from where the Uber or Tram 28 stop. But do-able. Close to two markets with the basic necessities. Close to some restaurants. Walkable to town. Very steep entry up 2 flights of stairs. We had a bit of trouble getting the key out of the lock, but the host was helpful with a video *how to* Maybe more of a user-error! 😆 The first bedroom is behind a curtain off the living room, not super private but worked fine. The bathroom is on the small side, the shower may be difficult to get into for a larger person. The kitchen provides everything needed. A washer with clothes drying line was so helpful! If you want to feel like a local and don’t mind a good walk. If you’re in decent shape and can handle the windy, cobblestone streets and stairs-this place is for you! We had a wondering stay in Lisbon and this is a charming place to stay.

We were pretty lucky to arrive after weeks of heavy rains, however the accomodations in general were facing issues due to the rains so was this appartment, however in person meeting took place proactively and we were shown some wet walls and were given an option to stay at another place. This was really appreciated. The only problem we had was that it was cold, so we stayed in one room with heater on, it worked well. The area is all old buildings so the appartments are old as well, but it is worth it to be at the heart of Lisbon. Thanks!

It was another great stay in my favourite city, Lisbon. The accommodation was perfectly located and you have a nice view of the river. Unfortunately, a cruise ship was at anchor at times. The apartment is large, cozy, clean and well appointed. Since the nights were already a bit cool, the oil radiator helped a lot. Communication with João was great and he was always available and helpful. I can only recommend the stay and the hosts. Thank you again!

We loved this João’s place! Thank you so much for opportunity to visit such an amazing place like Alfama with the comforts of home. It is such an amazing area with a beautiful history. You could walk to quite a few places of interest, and then you were not too far to walk to the downtown area to grab a bus/tram. We made our meals here. The kitchen had everything we needed to make espresso and tea. They had great kitchen utensils to make meals. They had dishes, pots, pans, a grater, Tupperware, toaster, stove top. Everything to make it easy to make meals and save the leftovers. They also had umbrellas outside the door just incase. We had brought some with us so we were okay, but we would have used them if we had forgotten. This was very much appreciated. They have thought of everything. You can tell that if you brought kids, they had lots of things to help with that. The living space was comfortable with a table right in front of their beautiful view! Thank you for everything!

There were three of us - my partner and our 14-year-old daughter and we had a great time. The apartment is a dream, equipped with everything you need and the view of the water is simply incredible. Joao was very easy to reach and very helpful. The area is very picturesque and beautiful, many sights are within walking distance and also very well connected to tram 28. There are also many great restaurants nearby. Thank you so much for this wonderful stay. ☀️

Thank you for being so responsive. The apartment was very clean, very well laid out and with a superb view. We only regretted the condition of the bathroom (broken toilet) and the noise (from the street and the neighborhood) but the overall result is positive! And we really enjoyed Lisbon!

The 5 star views definitely made up for the very steep steps to the apartment. Loved waking up to that view every morning!! Lovely decor, comfortable beds and the host was incredibly responsive to our questions. Also loved that we could walk everywhere. Check out the incredible bakery/breakfast place called Fora around the corner. Only downside is the bathroom is in need of an update, other than that I would highly recommend!

The apartment has a great location and we enjoyed the view very much. We liked the efficient and tasteful decor. Many attractions and good restaurants are within walking distance (if you have no difficulty with stairs ;-) and otherwise the well-known tram 28 is also easy to reach. The surroundings were lively, but not too bustling. We'd love to come back anytime or recommend the apartment.

João and his team were great. Simple and fast communication, so you feel safe. Of course, there were a few things missing here and there, but you can't complain about the great view and location. My family and I loved it there. We would come back just for the view. Some negative points were the bed linen, because they were still partly with hair. In addition, a slightly smaller mirror that you can move was missing. For example, for the girls to get ready, so you don't always have to wait for the bathroom. We also had a small problem with an ant infestation in the living room. We vacuumed it quickly, but it came from the leaking joints. Food was not left out in the living room. So, that can't be the reason. Nevertheless, we would like to thank everyone very much. It was a great experience. The location of the Airbnb allowed us to see as much as possible in the heart of Lisbon

Everything was great and the hosts were very attentive. The only thing to keep in mind is the arrival and departure with luggage. Please note the host's warning about the lack of a lift. They are small and very steep stairs and also the final 100 or 150 meters to get to the building you have to do it on foot through cobblestone streets or the other option a long staircase. Because it is a restricted area for vehicular access.

We had wonderful stay in Lisbon and loved our apartment for the week. It was just the two but there is a second bedroom and there is enough room for four adults to stay! João was very helpful and I would recommend staying here if you are considering travelling to Lisbon.

The location is absolutely ideal — we couldn't have asked for a better starting point for exploring Lisbon's historical sights. The apartment is situated in the heart of the historic center and offers an amazing sea view. Most major landmarks are within walking distance, and there's a great variety of restaurants nearby. The people around are incredibly welcoming and cheerful. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The apartment was very clean and tidy. We stayed for a 3-day family holiday, and it was the best experience we've had in years. Highly recommended!

The view and the area it is in are totally worth it, just to consider that if you go with children and a stroller it can be a little heavier than normal but other than that everything is perfect! Still, the location and views are perfect for walking everywhere

The apartment is great with an incredible view but getting to it is not for the faint of heart. It is quite a trek up many, windy, narrow cobblestone streets. Still, my husband and I are in our early 70’s- late 60’s and made it up the streets from the Fado museum (you can’t drive up) with our luggage and it was fine, and so as long as you don’t have mobility issues you can too. Google maps is invaluable. The view is wonderful and the neighborhood is very old and charming and lively. João was super helpful and friendly.

This renovated home in the Alfama neighborhood (the oldest in Lisbon) has a certain charm. It is relatively spacious for 3.4 people, with a very pleasant view of the Tagus River. But some improvements would be welcome....it's missing a coffee maker... a microwave... often used during a rental. Also the shower is very narrow and not in very good condition. This feedback was emailed to Joao, whom I did not meet during the stay, to my great regret. Overall pleasant stay and beautiful discoveries of Lisbon.

The space was spotless, and Joao and his team are committed to making sure we don't miss anything. It was a good stay!As read in previous comments, yes there are some high steps, now in Lisbon, climbing is a daily sport:-) I understand that it can be bulky with a very big suitcase, but otherwise nothing insurmountable. And the game (the view) is worth the candle. The space is a little wet, which can make it cool, depending on the season.

We had a great time at Alfama's apartment, the neighborhood is great, authentic and charming, peaceful because a little away from the bulk of the tourist hustle and bustle, while being central. Charming view of the Tagus River. Simple apartment but with everything you need. Joao gave us tons of very useful information, as well as Fernando who welcomed us and gave us the keys. We just want to come back and explore Lisbon again which charmed us:)

Appliances are limited ( no microwave or oven or electric coffee maker) but the owners provided us with a kettle following our complaint. Overall We had a pleasant stay in this apartment in Lisbon

We spent wonderful three days in Joao’s apartment. Location was great, especially for New Year’s eve! You can see fireworks just from the balcony. Joao was always available and helped us with everything we needed.

We visited this place in December and the location was perfect in the end. We mainly stayed in Alfama as apposed to going into town as we discovered the local restaurants and bars were more suited to what we wanted. The house had with two double beds a great ocean view over alfama. The ceiling fan in the bathroom was not working which we weren’t aware of before coming. The neighbours upstairs were very noisy until very late one of the nights which was annoying. Fully equipped kitchen and washing machine included.

The space is great and the view is absolutely amazing. Sunrise from the front windows was breathtaking. Hosts are super helpful and easy to contact. The place is extremely peaceful in the mornings, thought the day and most nights (Friday and Saturday night, the local kids and teens party in the courtyard below with very loud music until about 2 am - there are two beds in the apartment and the bedroom in the back blocks out most of the sound, so all good). Highly recommend.

It is a lovely apartment with great views across the river. The local bar just at the end of the street was very welcoming with live music and a chilled out atmosphere. The shop was handy too for extra things we needed. The apartment is very well equipped and although it's quite a climb up the steep stairs it is worth it just for the view.

The place was in a central location in Alfama while being a bit sheltered from noisy nightlife. French balcony doors with a river view. It was great having breakfast with open door and the light flaming in. Bedroom, but also large bed in the living room. It was convenient for us because I snore.

The place is very comfortable and super well located in a typical part of the city. Great restaurants nearby. The beds are comfortable and everything is very clean. I do not recommend for people with mobility problems by the stairs and because the taxi drivers do not reach the foot of the place and also if they are very sensitive to noise. People can be heard walking in the upstairs apartment and the walls tremble. I had read the comments before so I knew it was going to happen, then it didn't bother me more than that and I had earplugs. This is Lisbon antique ❤️ Pero definitely the view and the neighborhood are worth it and I would return without thinking of João's place. They also helped us climb our bags upstairs when we arrived, which was very appreciable because I came with my mom who is 76 years old. And he waited for us even with a bottle of wine. All in all we have a spectacular stay and love the city 🇵🇹❤️

The apartment is nicely renovated, atmospheric, in an old tenement house in Alfama, with a beautiful view of the Tagus River. Exactly as on the photos. Excellent location. Very convenient check-in with a key box. It is well equipped with the necessary kitchen appliances and other equipment. The fans saved our lives during sleep. Quick and very helpful contact with the hosts. The disadvantages that we noted were the unpleasant smell of sewage in the bathroom, unfortunately it persisted throughout the stay. Very small shower cubicle, (but my husband – quite a big man) managed. Very acoustic building, we could hear the neighbors in various situations. Local youth had a great time every night under our windows until 4 a.m. so we couldn't sleep on the bed in the living room with the windows open. The second bedroom was definitely more comfortable. Despite these minuses, I recommend the apartment and if I ever return to Lisbon, I will happily live there again.

Great stay here in Alfama. I was met by Tomas who gave me the keys and walkaround the airbnb. It was very clean, had a great view and exactly as you see on photos. All questions I had about Lisbon and sightseeing were responded to very quickly! The location is great, surrounded by many local restaurants and easy access to the main squares! I would definitely stay here again!

A splendid view and a very functional apartment (even if the access with very steep stairs is deserved). The tourist heart of the city is widely accessible on foot or by transport. Beautiful apartment in a good location in the authentic Alfama district. But no way to park the car nearby to unload luggage. A little noisy in summer with the windows open but it's the nightlife that wants that. Be careful, the stairs to the apartment are very steep to go up to the second floor. We enjoyed the visits to the Portuguese capital and thank you for the different tips of nearby restaurants.

We used the accommodation as a group of 3 and were super satisfied. A classic Portuguese Airbnb. Quiet but great location. Around us many small restaurants that did not want to rip off tourists but are more for locals. The apartment has a great view and was very clean. There were also such small things as the possibility to wash etc.

I stayed with three friends for 5 days. During this time, the apartment matched our needs very well - it was very comfortable and had the majority of the amenities we needed. It had a lovely view of the river in Lisbon. Our arrival was dealt with very well - we were met and shown around and even had a complementary bottle of wine in the fridge for us! The only downsides were the floor was quite dusty and the shower was not the best but these were small faults. There are quite a few stairs up to the apartment but these did not bother us too much. Especially as they pale in comparison to walking around Lisbon in general. The location was perfect too. We felt very safe and we were close to everything we might need (shops, public transport and the city centre). Finally, Joao was a very helpful host and Fernando, who met us upon arrival, also very helpfully supplied us with a list of recommendations and was always available for any other advice we might need.

We loved our stay at João's apartment! The place is just as listed and photographed. Beautiful view of the Tagus river from the balcony, great location, walkable to many restaurants, mini mercado, miradouro and trams. The kids loved all the toys and the nearby playground. Easy check in with the lockbox and very responsive and accommodating hosts. Would recommend to friends!

What a fun place to stay in Lisbon! The view from the balcony is so great. We watched all the boats coming and going from the living room. It was so nice to have two bedrooms and a relatively quiet street right in the middle of the Alfama area. The stairs up are steep, so not good for elderly or small children.

Positive experience, especially with an extraordinary view and close to everything. I have already been lucky enough to stay in Alfama and I can tell you that the apartment is very good. The size of the bathroom can be annoying for some people but it remains quite acceptable and it didn't spoil our stay. Our hosts are very courteous and very responsive. i can only wish the next tenants a very nice stay!

We had a wonderful stay in Alfama. The flat is perfectly located in the midth of the old city, but still quiet and calm. The view to the ocean is beautiful and very special. We felt home right a way. The flat is cozy and with everything you need. Clean and well thought through. The communication was easygoing and friendly. We highly recommend!

Wonderful little apartment in the most beautiful pristine district of Lisbon with a great view. The house is old and clairaudient, but everyone is considerate, we slept wonderfully on the good mattresses and would like to come here again and again. It has everything you could need, the location is perfect, line 28 just around the corner. Good cafes and restaurants no matter which direction you walk.
