Debs place was gorgeous. Well ventilated and airconditioned for the sweltering Durban humidity. The positioning was brilliant with a slight sea view. Deb and her husband were beyond amazing - we had been let down by previous hosts and Deb and her husband literally saved our holiday. Booking and check in was seamless and they went over and above to accommodate us.

My stay at 8 Kiahuna was absolutely fantastic. Deb and Alan made sure to check in with me before my arrival and it was a seamless handover when I checked out. I was also pleasantly surprised that the unit was cleaned over the weekend too, it was very convenient. I can't wait to return one day soon!

Debs, such a great communicator! She kept in touch from check-in through check-out. I booked her place for my nieces, they loved it. So close to all amenities. Great stay. The unit looks exactly like the pictures. Lots of parking places as well if you rent a car. Everything is close by. I never had to drive more than 5 mins to get anywhere, it's also walkable if you don't mind walking 5 km to the village.

Fantastic spot to stay, me and my partner stayed for 3 nights over a weekend - the property is clean safe and secure felt at home straight away, short journey to the main umhlanga area whilst still being nice and quiet. I loved how close it was to the promenade and it is completely safe to walk around with your personal belongings. Although the building is not on the beach strip, it has a wonderful view of the sea. I loved that I could watch all the DSTV channels (cable TV). Debs and Alan's availability is amazing on the phone and even physically when necessary. The neighbours and area are very quiet and peaceful.

We spent a long weekend at this lovely apartment. The unit is clean, neat, uncluttered and yet had everything we needed. Checkin was efficient and comprehensive and we appreciated that checkout was made flexible for our early departure. The bed (we just used the main bedroom, but the second looked fine also) is very comfortable, there's lots of cupboard space, and the bathrooms are clean with great pressure and plentiful hot water from the shower. The kitchen has all the equipment to churn out the best meals - we love gas cooking so that was a bonus. The mobility impaired should note that access is via 2 short flights of stairs. The complex is small and just off the promenade so it is quiet but it's only a 3 minute walk to the beach and there is a view from the (small) balcony of the ocean, although it is interrupted. Overall, a very well appointed and managed unit to which we hope to return soon. Thanks Debs and Alan!

What a positive experience. The flat was light, contemporary, and luxurious - with absolutely everything we needed. The pool and sea views were a bonus. Alan and Debs were perfect hosts - from the quick responsiveness to meeting us in person and taking care of everything. They even let us know daily the loadshedding schedule. It’s a very well appointed apartment serviced daily. The ducted air conditioning is very effective. We enjoyed the pool and the walk to the beach. This unit is even better in person! It was super clean, in a good location ….across from the beach, around the corner from restaurants, and close to malls. The views were also amazing both during the day and at night. The hosts also give all the information one needs as a newcomer to the area (very thoughtful), and they are super responsive as well. We absolutely love 8 Kiahuna. The location was perfect - so close to Bronze Beach. The apartment was luxurious and perfectly equipped. Being serviced was really an added bonus. Both Debs and Allan are a rare find. Normally hosts welcome their guests on the first day and are never to be seen again. Alan was regularly giving updates on load shedding, checking on us whether we needed anything etc... These are 2 GREAT AMBASSADORS for AIRBNB..... they should be classified as Super Super Hosts. Thanks guys, now I understand why my son always goes to you for his accommodation. As for your cleaner (Thobeka?), she was also a gem. Very good in all aspects. Once again a HUGE APPRECIATION for keeping us happy and content. The place was clean and well kept. All amenities were available and we were never short of anything. We travelled as a family with my 3 year old daughter and especially booked this apartment for its close proximity to the beach. The apartment was perfect, with everything you could possibly need even down to beach towels and books. Alan and Debs are the best hosts one could ask for and we enjoyed great dinners at restaurants they recommended. The apartment is a short walk away from the beach which made my daughter’s trip. Can’t wait to be back!
