Having stayed at Pepper Pot it is a lovely little place. It’s highly decorated inside and large bedroom with an incredibly comfy bed. I do have to be honest and advise even though dogs are welcome, I would say it’s not dog friendly. There is no security for the dogs and the main house is not closed off from you so if you have dogs who like to wonder they can easily walk to the main house. The place also doesn’t have a secure gate leading to the main road which large Lorrie’s drive down and could be dangerous for them. A notice was provided to advise that dogs must be kept on a lead at all times when outside which is slightly disappointing. We were provided no sugar, a few tea bags, only 1 toilet roll to last for 5 days, no detergent tablets for the washing machine and no kitchen roll. It very much felt things did not get replenished before we arrived. You will also share parking with the main residents. Overall the house is nice but please think twice before you bring dogs.

For anybody looking for an affordable, comfortable and cosy stay in Northumberland, the Pepper Pot is a MUST. Perfectly situated within the beautiful countryside - the short drive to Alnwick, Bamburgh, Alnmouth, Cragside, Craster, Seahouses and much more, make The Pepper Pot THE most ideal base camp location. The property itself has everything you could need for your stay, an amazing shower, comfortable spacious bed and a cosy living room to relax in after a long days exploring. We had the most amazing time visiting (almost) everything Northumberland had to offer and it would not have been possible without The Pepper Pot. 10/10 and we WILL be back.

Lovely private area on a farm. Driving distance to nearest beach and town 10-15 mins. The property had a very comfortable bed and quality bedding. There is a two ring hob for cooking and a microwave that acts as a grill and oven. It worked fine for us. Lovely hot water and heating works well. Our stay was generally comfortable, but there were several things that future guests should be aware of to make life easier before arriving. For a one-week stay, only one bin bag and one tea towel were provided. When we contacted the host to ask if an extra bin bag and tea towel could be provided, we were told that what was supplied on arrival was all that was available. Although there is a washing machine, no washing detergent or pods were supplied. Instant coffee was left but it was hard and old. There was a welcome gift if a bottle of wine and chocolate and that was very appreciated.

The Pepper Pot was delightful. In a great, rural location but very convenient to Alnwick and surrounding locations, all within the immediate vicinity. Being so close to the A1 also gave easy access to locations further afield such as Holy Island, Bamburgh, Warkworth, Amble. Nearby restaurants were very good. The Tree House is not to be missed, but also Dunstanburgh Hotel, and for excellent fish supper Carlo’s in Alnwick High Street. However, most important was the cottage. A well and tastefully adapted farm building, with plenty of space and solitude. A great stay which will be repeated

It’s within reach of many fabulous attractions and days out, yet has the peace and quiet to chill away from a busy life! A home away from home. Clear instructions given to find the property and great communication from the host. All facilities we needed to cook, live comfortably for the weekend. Lovely rural peaceful location yet close to shops, beaches, restaurants. Loved the wildlife outside the barn, families of rabbits and birds 🐰. Overall had a great stay and will definitely return.

We had a fantastic stay here. Everything you would need plus more. Our messages were replied to quickly You are in a perfect area to see the best of Northumberland . We can highly recommend Beadnell beach. Perfect if you have mobility problems as not far to walk from parking your car and a lovely place opposite the car park to eat. We highly recommend trying Pepperpot!!

We were very disappointed with our stay at this property, particularly given the expectations set by the damage waiver fee. Upon arrival, there was a noticeable lingering smell of dog and visible dog hair, which triggered allergies. Cleanliness overall was below standard, for example the artificial tree in the bedroom was heavily covered in dust. The bathroom was especially concerning, with poor finishing including a badly fitted shower tray, gaps in the flooring, poorly finished baseboards, and a wobbly, incorrectly installed sink. The tap also had rubber seals out of place. More importantly, there was visible mould on baseboards, around the shower, in grout, and around taps, which could be easily wiped away, suggesting a lack of proper cleaning over time. We raised this with the host but were only offered 20% off a future stay and told we hadn’t given time to fix it; however, mould that comes off to the touch is not something that should require fixing by guests.

We both had a fantastic stay at the Pepper Pot. Very easy to find, signposted and easily accessible. The cottage itself had been renovated to include modern features, great heating and shower and a wonderful comfy bed. Lovely part of the world where we both found lovely beach walks, places of historic interest and a cosy local traditional pub serving great food. Great communications from our hosts must be mentioned. All in all, a wonderful weekend break was had in an incredible part of the country. Definitely will return in the near future. Came here with my girlfriend for a few days of peace and tranquility in the English countryside & the Pepper Pot was the perfect spot to do that in. We loved how off-grid it felt whilst still being so close to the town. The space suited us perfectly, reasonable sized kitchenette, large double bed & a lovely modern bathroom. My girlfriend especially loved the vanity nook in the bedroom, what a lovely touch! We would love to come back in the future and would definitely recommend to friends & family.

A beautiful little cottage in very peaceful surroundings. Perfect for a short relaxing break. It had everything you needed in the cottage. All very cosy and comfortable and great value. The milk, wine and chocolate was a lovely welcome gesture - thank you! The bed was also very comfortable. It would have been a 5 out of 5 but the shower had a noisy periodic drip and the tiling could do with a little TLC in the shower. There was also a slight dog smell in the property. We need to say these are minor issues in comparison to the overall experience and didn't detract from our stay. We would happily return one day. Thank you so much for being great hosts.

We had a lovely weekend at the Pepper Pot. We found it fairly easily, place was lovely and clean and situated in lovely quiet farmland about 3 miles away from Alnwick. It’s a good base to explore Northumberland. Inside the cottage was pretty spotless with a nice big bed and a lovely shower and bathroom. The kitchen could have had a slightly better layout, there’s no proper oven It’s a large microwave sized thing, so worth bearing in mind for longer stays but we managed to cook up a lovely steak dinner no bother. Plenty utensils etc. Would recommend for a couples weekend. 👍🏻 Thanks again

We had a few days at The Pepper Pot and had the best time. It was simply beautiful inside and everything on the description was accurate and the place was very well presented and made us feel right at home. The access instructions were clear and the location of the property was a perfect base for exploring further. The furnishings and style of the property gave it character but really made us feel safe and welcome. We enjoyed the wine and chocolate on arrival! Would highly recommend and would stay again. A Perfect Getaway. We had a wonderful stay at this charming cottage, just outside of Alnwick. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The cottage was spotless, beautifully presented, and had a lovely cosy atmosphere. It was the perfect balance of modern comforts and rustic charm. The bar of chocolate and bottle of red that greeted us was a nice touch. Tucked away in a peaceful location, it offered a true escape from the hustle and bustle, yet was still conveniently close to local attractions and scenic walks. We couldn't have asked for a better place to relax and unwind. If you're looking for a clean, homely, and private retreat in Northumberland, this cottage is a fantastic choice. Jen, Bella the Spaniel and I will definitely be returning on our next visit to the area!

Lovely barn conversion, with everything you need for a few nights stay. The postcode/address sends you to a house just down the road but clear instructions where to find pepperpot which is a few 100yards up the road. Pet friendly, garden not enclosed enough grass area to walk on the lead around property. Nice and peaceful location easy drives to everywhere you need in northumberland.

We had a fantastic time away staying here! everything about it was just right. we stayed with our 8 month old boy and cocker spaniel and was just perfect. There was plenty of privacy, the area was stunning and very close to Alnwick which is a lovely town with good food and drink! The property was clean and relaxing. it's clear that it has kept the original character of the building without any compromise in comfort. would highly recommend and will definitely be back there in the spring/summer next year!

The Pepperpot is perfectly placed for exploring Northumberland, and was a great place to spend a few days over half term. The only drawback is the company who manage the property on behalf of the owners. We arrived (based on their directions and postcode) at a completely different property, and when calling the company they were no help whatsoever in locating where we were staying, leaving us to drive around in the dark ourselves for half an hour only finding the Pepperpot based on the reviews of other AirBnB users. The requirement for a £250 retainer on the booking (returnable but comes with a mandatory £10 admin fee) is bizarre. The owner (Steve) was very apologetic when we eventually found the Pepperpot, however he was clearly frustrated by Host and Stay (the management company). However, once checked in we had an brilliant stay. We just wish Host and Stay weren’t involved! You can book direct with the owners (details in the guestbook), so odd that they have outsourced to them

Everything was spotlessly clean and we loved the peace and quiet because it's away from main roads. There is so much of interest in the region, but you need to plan visits before your stay, to pick out the thngs that appeal to you the most. This was our 3rd trip to Northumberland and the first time at the Pepper Pot, but we intend revisiting at a future date.

Lovely property in a great setting. Very clean with modern bathroom. Best for people who like to eat out as kitchen facilities are limited. The main issue with this property is the added costs which all seem to relate to Host and Stay. The nightly rate at c£150 should cover cleaning but you have to pay an extra £50 for this. In addition you are required to pay a £25 damage waiver in case you break a cup - the alternative is you give host and stay £250 for 3 weeks and they charge you £10 for the pleasure of holding your money. We have stayed at many different AirBnB homes in several countries and never come across host and stay before - we will avoid them in future.

If you follow the sat-nav instructions, ignore the last “turn left” and go straight on, up the hill about 200 yards and turn right into the farm yard and the Pepper Pot is right in front of you. When found it is well worth it, a well equipped, comfortable and private little dwelling with easy access to Alnwick and the coast.

Absolutely loved our stay at The Pepper Pot! The rumours are true - the bed is lush😍. Beautifully designed, cosy and just the right amount of space for two people and two dogs (in our case, two cocker spaniels). The shower is powerful, the TV has all the modern features (Netflix etc) and you take the dogs out on a lovely walk right from the door. We had many bunnies hopping along the grass in front and even spotted the beautiful barn owl! The peacefulness is the best. So quiet and tranquil. Alnwick is a short 5min taxi ride and great for meal and a few drinks at night or a stroll around in the day. Literally everywhere and everyone is just so lovely! Great location to visit other areas in Northumberland too. Michelle is lovely, she will happily respect your privacy and leave you be but is on hand to help at anytime and has great advice on the local area! 10/10 would stay again.

Lovely place, great access to local beaches and towns. Check in easy, however postcode took us to the farm next door. A what three words location or more description might be good. Overall very clean and tidy property but there were some fake plants in the bedroom which were in desperate need of a dust/clean. Kitchen facilities good however there is only a microwave/ oven which works well but is small if you want to cook pizza for example wouldn’t really fit. We took our dog and I had tried to find any dog rules beforehand and there was nothing on the site etc however a rules list when we arrived, would be good to see these before arriving. A great property and would definitely stay again

Absolutely beautiful. The scenery of the little cottage, the location, the interior. Such a wonderful getaway. Michelle, the owner, was super helpful when we had a little mouse popping in the kitchen space but that’s expected when you’re at the countryside! But nothing could have knocked how incredible the pepper pot is. 1000/10! Wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem. P.S the mattress was incredible, the best bed we’ve ever slept on WOW.

The accommodation makes great use of the available space and is light and airy. The bed and sofa are really comfortable and everything is really clean. The open hanging space in the bedroom works well and there's a nice little dressing table area in bedroom too. Lovely bathroom and shower. Nice outdoor seating area. Brilliant location, so close to Alnwick, Howick and the coast but on a quiet road so there's no traffic noise when sitting outside. We really enjoyed our stay!

Lovely stay! We spent 3 nights here with our dog and it was perfect. Great location. Decor is lovely, bed was very comfortable! Host left us wine and chocolate which was gorgeous! Great facilities. We regretted not booking for longer! We would definitely recommend and love to return.

We loved our weekend at this beautiful cottage. The location is perfect - so peaceful and quiet and 5 mins from the beautiful Northumberland coast. The cottage has loads of homely touches and feels very cozy and comfortable. It was also perfect for our dog who made herself at home very quickly! Our only regret is we didn’t book a longer stay.

On the face of it the place is amazing, the owners have done a great job converting it into a livable space which is finished to a pretty high standard. The property is also in a great location for exploring Northumberland, about 10/15 minutes in either direction to Alnwick and Craster and only about 30 to Bamburgh. That being said, we had to leave early, 2 nights into our 3 night stay. There were what sounded like numerous rodents roaming the walls and under the floorboards leading to 2 sleepless nights, we couldn’t cope with a third. The owner did come round, apologised and offered to put poison/ traps down however this didn’t comfort us with having a puppy and we already felt rather uncomfortable to know that they were under our feet.

We loved the Pepper Pot. We stayed with our two dogs for 3 nights. The Pepper Pot feels very fresh & new. Modem, relaxing decor, very comfy king bed. Well stocked small galley kitchen. Only a 5 minute drive to Alnwick for evening meals. We had 2 take outs, 1 from Thai Vibe which was excellent, fish & chips from Carlos again excellent. We also ate at The Market Tavern with our dogs, the food again was very good. This was our first visit to Northumberland and will certainly not be our last. There is so much to see. We did the walk from Seahouses to Bamburgh Castle and back along the spectacular beach our dogs loved it. We had lunch at The Copper Kettle in Bambugh scrummy toasted sandwiches & cakes, thoroughly recommend. We visited Dunstanburgh Castle again another fabulous beach walk with the dogs to the castle. There is so much to see & do you won’t be bored. It was always lovely to come back to the peaceful Pepper Pot.

The Pepperpot is a beautiful, well-equipped barn conversion in a wonderful location close to many interesting coastal villages and beaches. It is peaceful and quiet, just the job for a chilling break away from it all. We were welcomed with chocolate, wine and a bottle of milk - the three basic essentials!! Definitely worth another visit.

The Pepper Pot was a lovely place to stay. Beautifully decorated with some tasteful touches and the most comfy king-size bed! A really relaxing environment. We were so lucky with the weather so drinks on the patio were an evening ritual where we were often joined by the resident hens complete with their chicks. A very peaceful place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and hope to visit again in the future. Thank you Michelle and Steve for making us so welcome (And for the wine and chocolate).

What a lovely hideaway! Immaculate and well equipped place. Roomy and airy. Beautifully clean. Lovely welcome and the bottle of ‘milk’ 😉 a nice touch. The photo’s are accurate. We saw rabbits and plenty of bird life from the accommodation including a trio of grouse. Co-op in Longhoughton for groceries. Five minutes drive to Alnwick. Excellent position to access all that Northumberland has to offer.
