Rose cottage was a lovely place to stay. It was very quiet and peaceful and only an 8 minute drive to Bamburgh. If you’re looking for a quiet secluded place to stay, then this is the place. It was tidy and mostly clean. A very comfortable place to stay. We felt the kitchen wasn’t the best place to cook in so went out for dinner every night. Just little niggles about how the oven door opened and the dials being confusing. We also felt like it needed a more thorough clean. There were cobwebs in many places and the carpet was dusty and had hair on it. However, this didn’t stop us enjoying our stay and we would stay again as long as it’s vacuumed more thoroughly!

I stayed for 5 nights in this cozy cottage in Belford and absolutely loved it. It had everything I needed for a comfortable stay and was in a great location - close to Bamburgh, Holy Island, and lots of amazing historical sites and castles. It was the perfect base for exploring the area, and I couldn’t have asked for more. I’d definitely stay again!

I had a great stay at Rose Cottage. It was peaceful and private but had everything I needed. Communication was excellent throughout and questions I had prior to booking were answered very quickly. I’d definitely stay again.

The house has carpeting on the floor everywhere, which makes it a bit dusty. There was also mould on the ceiling in the bathroom. There were also many cobwebs in the kitchen and bathroom. The space was otherwise fine for the two of us. A great kitchen, bathroom and nice beds! Beautiful surroundings!

We enjoyed our stay in Rose Cottage, perfect for visiting all the sights around Bamburgh. The narrow road is not a problem, good visibility and no traffic.

Lovely little cottage, well placed for exploring Bamburgh, Lindisfarne, Alnwick, the Farne Islands & the Cheviots. Need a car though. Well equipped for self catering & very comfortable. As others have said it’s a tiny road to it, but with good visibility, I think we only met one other vehicle in a week, local, and knew exactly where to pass.

If you like peace and quiet this is just right. Very cosy and well equipped. Comy bed. Be prepared for some very narrow lanes with few passing places - not a real problem, as virtually nothing passes!

Rose cottage was everything we expected. It was quiet and very comfortable, warm and cosy given the weather was a bit dire at times! The kitchen was well equipped and as the weather was so bad we stayed in to eat quite most evenings which was easy to do. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We returned to Rose Cottage because we had been very comfortable during our first visit two years ago, and it was good value for money. It is within easy drive of many local attractions and beauty spots. There is also a ‘secret’ bird hide less than half a mile’s walk up the lane. It is a cosy, dark, character cottage with very thick walls and very slow Wi-Fi. However, we again found it very comfortable, with good central heating, electric fire and plenty of hot water. As mentioned by others, the oil-fired heating boiler can be a bit smelly if you don’t remember to shut the internal door. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. One thing I regretted was the change of bedroom curtains. The previous thick, blackout curtains have been swapped for flimsy ones that don’t block out the light. This is the only Airbnb where we’ve been asked to pay a deposit or a damage waiver after booking. It would be better to include this as an up-front cost at time of booking.

A comfortable little cottage (detached, on one floor) in a well-kept group of 6 down narrow lanes between Belford and Bamburgh. Very comfortable bed and sofas, good sized living space, pleasant outdoor area with seats and coffee table, a decent shower and overall reasonably well equipped. The only real negative was the oil boiler, in a lobby between the kitchen and bathroom - after the house had been shut up for the day it would smell of oil. Ventilation above the boiler would be a good idea. Some of the information needs updating, e.g. non-existent dishwasher (not that we would use it) and it isn't completely clear that the washing machine is in a shared outhouse. The location is excellent for exploring north Northumberland, with about a mile of narrow road to negotiate but otherwise close to the A1 and the coast. The bird hide is worth a look - walk along the road towards Bamburgh for two fields then turn left just before the wood and head to what looks like a shed.

I had a lovely 3 days at Rose Cottage. It was warm very clean and comfortable. It has everything you need for your stay. It is set in a really quiet area, but in close proximity to the coast for going out and about. I had a lovely trip to the Farne Islands while I was there. I would highly recommend Rose Cottage to any for a long or short break.

It’s a lovely spot to get away. You’ll need a car to get to most places but your ten minutes from most villages / towns to visit, and there are walks you can do from the cottage too. Fantastic place, definitely recommend :D

Such a lovely, cozy and romantic cottage. Only 10 minute drive to the beach. Very quite and peaceful. It had everything we needed. The only suggestion, especially for the colder months, is to have some blankets as did get chilly in the evening. They do have a way of turning the heating up though which definitely helped. Other than that, we were very happy with our stay :)

Cosy cottage, extremely comfy bed, clean linen and plenty of fluffy towels. Decor a bit dark and could do with brightening up a tad. Problems with the lights on arrival, bulb had blown in the ceiling light and wall light switch didn't work. Two lamps in the living room weren't enough so it was a bit gloomy. Only one tea towel for the whole week, and kitchen could have been equipped a little better. Frying pan was burnt on the bottom, and saucepans were dirty. Cottage was otherwise very clean, but lots of cobwebs. Location was lovely and quiet, very peaceful and not far from Bamburgh. We enjoyed our stay, but a bit pricey for what we got.

Lovely quiet location, out in the sticks, postcode takes you right there. We had a bit of trouble with the key box, it’s a knack. Cottage is well equipped, perfect for a couples escape. We had read about the bird hide in other reviews, but couldn’t find instructions on where it was Out of the cottage turn left toward Bamburgh. 1/2 mile down there are some woods, go through the gate on the left and the hide is 300 yards in front. It’s well worth a trip, late afternoon is best. Red Squirrel, woodpeckers, yellowhammers, pheasants, mallards, moorhen all regular visitors. The cottage is ideally placed for Bamburgh, Seahouses Farne islands, Lindesfarne, Alnwick & Berwick would certainly recommend

Lovely stay. Cottage really nice. Well equipped. Be aware listing is not actually in Belford but a 1hr 40m walk from there and a good 30-35m walk from Bamburgh if you are walking.

We enjoyed the cottage in it's country setting yet only minutes from Bamburgh. Watching the swallows just outside the cottage, the lovely flower baskets and pots made me smile every time we drove up to the cottage. The hide about 1/4 mile away was a lovely surprise and we saw red squirrels, greater spotted woodpeckers, coal tits etc here. The cottage was very well equipped, especially the kitchen. My husband was very pleased to find there was a 2nd TV in the bedroom so he could watch the motor racing! We had 5 wonderful days exploring countryside and coast without having to go very far. Though a little dark the living room was big for 2 people and it helped if the blind was as far up as it would go!

We loved our stay at Rose Cottage. The location was brilliant, very close to Bamburgh and the A1 for getting to everywhere we wanted to go, but really quiet and tucked away in a small cluster of rural cottages. As others have mentioned, the decor is perhaps a bit dated but the cottage was very cosy and comfortable with everything we needed, the bed was big and superbly comfortable, there was lots of wardrobe space, plenty of hot water and the Wi-Fi was adequate for our needs, once we found the password. As keen birdwatchers, a highlight for us was the bird hide a short walk up the road, which we visited every day. We would happily stay there again.

This cottage is clean, comfortable and fitted out well. The location is quiet and rural, with little traffic on the minor laneways. The cottage is close enough to access a number of tourist destinations like Bamburgh castle, Lindisfarne, Alnwick castle and the coastal walks. If we travel back this way again I would try to reserve this cottage for a stay.

Great little cottage, amazing location- felt really remote but close to the A1 and to Bamburgh. Really comfy bed and useable kitchen (could do with a little better lighting in the kitchen, a better frying pan and a spatula). Lots of very hot water. 15 minute walk to the local bird hide which was brilliant!

Fabulous location. Very quiet but a short drive or longer walk as you desire to the beautiful coastline of Northumberland. Cottages well appointed and fitted the brief perfectly. Wi fi a little painful at times but not to the detriment of the whole experience. Throughly recommend if you are looking for peace , beautiful walks and total relaxation from the rat race. The bird hide was a hidden gem.

Cottage was clean, and in a good location, but facilities and decor were not really up to scratch for the price we paid. We had no working wifi, and the dishwasher mentioned in the listing did not exist. The main room was poorly lit, and the whole place just felt a little bit tired. But we were extremely glad to enjoy a holiday in beautiful Northumberland after months of lockdown winter.

Place was well located and spotlessly clean. Good assortment of things to cook with. We interpreted listing as having a useable fireplace (it's electric) however Andrew/Stay quickly refunded the rest of our stay as we decided to find somewhere with one instead. Really comfy bed and it was so quiet! Thanks for the milk and tea/coffee also.

This property is in an ideal location for exploring the Northumberland coastline. It is a perfect distance from Bamburgh and the excellent beaches. The bird hide a short walk from the property was a real find. It is also close to many delicious eating establishments. Our stay was comfortable and relaxing in a property that did what is said on the tin.

A beautiful cottage in a fantastic lication aproximately four miles from Belford and three from Bamburgh aling beautiful country roads. Particularly loved the walk to Bamburgh and it's awesome beach. Thr cottage was warm and visy and had alk the amenities. It was spotlessly clean and so cosy with the fire. You couldn't ask for a livlier cottage and the hottub was lush. Patricia and Gabrielle were lovely and so helpful. A wonderful stay that really was soul and heart enriching. Thankful, we'll see you again. Couldn't recommend this cottage more highly. Andrew was very helpful too. Thank you Rachel xxx
