House had everything you needed apart from a bath for the baby but we put him in the sink, great location for harbour, bars and cafés great little dog walk just at the end of the street if your taking a dog and nice enclosed back patio.
There was a choice of pillows but even the softer of the two were a bit firm for us.
We took a dog and had to get his ball a few times from under the furniture and it wasn't that clean underneath couple of dust balls and a toiletroll tube

We enjoyed our stay at this location.
We found the house to be very clean and beautifully decorated.
The kitchen was very well equipped but lacked storage space for our shopping.
We found coffee, tea, and milk upon our arrival, which we appreciated.
In general, we were happy and satisfied here.
The only thing to criticize was the communication before our arrival. We were told we would find out about the check-in specifications A FEW DAYS before our arrival. I checked my emails regularly beforehand but did not receive any such information. The day before we were supposed to arrive, I sent them an email asking for said information. I received quite a blunt message back saying that this information would be provided a few days before our arrival. When I replied that we were due to arrive the next day, I didn't hear back. Finally, we were told the morning of arrival but this was an unnecessary cause of stress that really could've been avoided.

We had a lovely stay here with our 2 grown up children and their partners. House was spotless and had everything one would need for a stay in Amble. Really spacious , no issues with on street parking. Would love to stay here again.

Beautiful presented house. Well thought out decor. Excellently stocked kitchen providing everything you could need to cook for yourself, should you want to. Good access to amenities and town centre. Excellent Internet speed. Up to date smart TV. Very clean.loved the stay.

The house was brilliant - better than we anticipated. There is an open section of grass a few doors down which was perfect for the dog and we had no issues finding parking on neighbouring streets.

Generous size, well furnished and accessorised. Good range of equipment. Efficient heating system. Good position for walking dog am and evening, right at end of street. Misleading about car parking, but plenty of on street parking in surrounding streets. Only 5 mins walk to centre and 10 to harbour. Situated conveniently for 3 supermarkets. Easy travel to other places. Slightly spoilt by not being well cleaned on arrival.

really good location, 5 mins from town. the house overall was good , some dirt and stains on the wall and skirting on the way in. Black hairs in the shower from the previous occupants probably and quite a lot of cobwebs hanging from the top window All easly resolvable with a bit more care from the cleaning staff. The parking description is a bit misleading, there is no private on site parking but just a back alley to park a small car, which needs to be moved before 10 am every Tuesdays to make way for the bin lorry, there is ample parking though on surrounding streets. Overall had a nice few days though.

The property was in a fantastic location and a lovely property well kept and beautifully decorated and comfortable beds.
If we had to say anything negative it would be that , The sofas are not comfortable to sit on and the door handle at the bottom of the stairs leading in to the dining room was hard to open and needs fixing. The cottage is beautiful and we did find it fantastic overall brilliant location.

Great house with great facilities.
Parking was ok - one car behind the house in the lane. We parked the second car around the corner on the next street.

Lovely house but unfortunately the dog smell let it down. We knew it was pet friendly but the smell was very strong of dogs. The blankets/throws hadn’t been washed and were covered in pet hair. The mat at the back door was dirty and there was someone’s old take out tub full of sauce at the back door. The actual property and decor/amenities can’t be faulted. I fed back to the company and they responded quickly.

Property very well equipped - lovely furnishings - very spacious - two lovely log burners - ideal to walk into town
The property was fine it was host and stay the agents that let it down. Arrived - fridge had not been turned on did not realise until following morning - 2 log burners but no initial supply of logs - only one toilet roll in each toilet - one t-towel provided - no oven glove provided - debris left under settees in lounge - hob in oven did not work - contacted host&stay on the day of arrival after lots of contact we left the property three days later with none of our issues resolved - very poor agents I feel sorry for the owners of the property as it is a lovely house - they just need new agents.

Kings Cottage is furnished beautifully & has everything you need for your stay. It’s in a great location, close to the town. Parking is tricky next to house, but plenty parking a couple of minutes away. Recommend The Old Boathouse, Harbour Inn and Amble Inn for food. We love Amble & surrounding area, it’s our second visit & will definitely be back, but would not stay at Kings Cottage again. There were some cleaning issues, eg. dusty surfaces and dirty mirrors. The shower tray needs a lot of attention, a discoloured anti-slip surface, and black mouldy surrounding seal. The tray itself was unclean. We had to re-pressurise the boiler to get heating going. There is only one single radiator in living room, so remember plenty logs if staying in winter as it’s the coldest room in house. The electricity tripped twice as well. You just don’t expect these type of issues on your stay.

We stayed here for a weekend in October as my son had an event nearby. The house was great and suited our needs it was really well equipped and decorated and maintained to a lovely standard.
Parking was tricky as we have a big car and the road was narrow but we found somewhere to park.
I would recommend the house.

A really nicely modernised cottage, and a good base for a small family to explore the area. There are a couple of issues for potential hirers to be aware of, which may matter to some but not others: 1. The on-site parking is space for one very small car down a back alley. We parked nearby and walked the luggage in instead. 2. The boiler is in a cupboard in the main bedroom, which is noisy if trying to maintain the thermostat temperature on a cold night, as it constantly fires up through the night, so not good for light sleepers.

Much larger than it looks from outside. Very well equipped. Lovely furniture and comfortable beds.
Very close to town centre and harbour.
Parking is a little tricky but there was always space in nearby streets. It is OK to park on King Edward Street to unload.

King’s Cottage in Amble exceeded our expectations for our family holiday. It was larger than we expected, was well equipped, and decorated and furnished to a high standard. It was in a great location, only 2 minutes from the shops and restaurants, with good road connections to many local attractions.
For a family of 4 on a 2 week holiday to the area for the first time, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend King’s Cottage.

The house was lovely, well presented & comfy settees, beds were really comfortable & the shower was great. Loved that we cold walk into Amble comfortably even for my husband who's had a stroke, had some lovely takeaways especially the Taj Mahal. The freezer wants defrosting as it was constantly working overtime, could have done with some handwash & washing up lquid. There was one tablet for the dishwasher so if there were 6 of you we'd have had to have bought more to ensure enough plates, glasses etc. All in all it was really enjoyable but definitely time for us to have somewhere with no stairs. Forgot the amount of emails & messages drove me mad, especially as some seemed to be duplicated, may be somethng for you to note

Great house. All the rooms were bigger than they look on the pics. Amble is a delight with lots of great places to eat and some nice pubs a short walk away. The beaches are wonderful.

I am not impressed with your service, I have never had to telephone a company so many times to check if family could go or if I had to cancel. Numerous emails, all repetitive but no answer. They use super hog to verify you. WHY?
I spent last few days before stressed, not knowing if I would be able to go. I sent confidential bank statements and driving licence to a website not knowing if it was secure. Do not use host and stay group. Why make your life harder?

Location was just a short distance from Amble centre and its amenities. The cottage was outstanding. It was large inside with modern uptodate decor. Very well equipped and comfortable. Can easily accomodate 6 people.
It states on site parking. You can park around the back but its a tight alley. At the front there is no parking. You have to find a spot either at the end of the street.Good luck with that!!. Or in Middleton St which is a very short walk away. We always got a space here.

Great location.clean modern house beautifully renovated. Everything was there you needed. Think would be nice if you mention downstairs loo in spec online as that's a great addition especially for older people. Overall we had a lovely stay.
The back yard needs some homely touches and more importantly cleaned once in a while as lots of old debris. We had to clean when we got there. Also would be handy if you leave some disinfectant so people can clean up after the birds. The area definitely could be improved on as great little asset with all day sun. The bulb lights weren't working when we were there which would have been a nice touch, may just need a new battery.
Also think host and stay need to review their admin. We received many duplicated emails and texts which were not necessary before and during your stay especially about 10am check out!!

Overall a good property for 4 to 6 people that was well described and reflected on the booking website within easy walking distance to the town centre and harbour for pubs, restaurants and shops. Great location and base to visit the area with friendly helpful neighbours. Our overall rating was only reduced to 4 stars because of the road parking to the rear of the property down a very narrow street. This was challenging to say the least in our 4x4 negotiating bins, stone walls and parked cars giving only inches to pass. Free Roadside Parking is available in nearby streets or in the harbour carpark at £3 for 24 hours. A very enjoyable stay and we can recommend Jaspers restaurant which was excellent. You do however need to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Good size property & only a short walk to shops, pubs, marina etc
Kitchen had everything needed, beds were comfy & the area was nice & quiet.
Only issue I had was the length of time taken to get the security deposit back, plus it was taken 2 weeks before the date of our stay, which seems excessive to me. The property itself I cannot fault.

A great little house, beautifully presented with everything we could have needed for the stay. Excellent communication and useful downloadable 'info app'. The house is updated to a high standard with comfortable furnishings and tasteful decor. Spotlessly clean too. Situated in a quiet, residential backstreet it is within easy walking of Amble's Main Street and harbour.

Lovely house - pretty much everything we needed.
Very easy to access the town
There was no bread knife!
Also, onstreet parking was OK but it would've been nice to know in advance - the listing says "private parking onsite" which isn't strictly true

Three friends, just returned home from Kings Cottage. We loved it. It was immaculate, well equipped and spacious. It was a comfortable home, with good design, great layout and well capable to hosting 6 persons. We’d love to go back.
Amble was fantastic too, for walking, beach combing, the market, wine bar and restaurants. Amazing long weekend.

The house was beautifully decorated, in a great spot, but there were some issues with the cleanliness. There were glasses left in the cupboard with lipstick on & all glasses were very grubby with finger prints all over them. They remain there, as there was no washing up liquid so we could not wash them & didn't want to risk putting these glasses in the dishwasher. Most of the mugs, plates and bowls were also quite grubby & some food stuck to some crockery. It was quite dusty in places, with some dust and hair on the floor of the shower. While the beds we stayed in were clean, we noted there were hairs on the single beds in the third bedroom. On the last day the heating would not come on, and the boiler was showing an error code. In the build up to the stay we also received lots of automated messages from Host & Stay in error. Due to this, we would likely not book a property which uses Host & Stay again. It is a shame as the building itself is lovely, & we would have given 5* otherwise.

Lovely house, very comfortable, tastefully decorated, great furniture, the place had a very fresh feel. Kitchen very well equiped had everything including coffee maker. Generally the property was very well equiped with everything we needed. Beds very comfortable with selecton of pillows, good quality linen and towels. Log burner was welcome in February weather. Few minutes walk to main street with supermarket, pubs and take aways. Host provided excellent communications . No complaints, had a great stay. Thank you !

Thoroughly enjoty our stay at Kings cottage! It's exactly as the photos! It is in a really good location close to the high street and seaside. Co op was the closest shop if you needed anything essential. We chose to stay here as a base to visit Bamburgh and Holy Island which is less than an hour drive! There are lots of pubs and restaurants which are walkable! We only got to explore Amble on our last day and went to the harbour village market.
Kings cottage is so beautiful and perfect for us (4 adults, a toddler and baby). We all had a really good night's sleep on the big comfy beds! It was very peaceful! The interior is so beautiful and house has everything you need. I love that there were plates and cutlery for my kid! Check in and out was really easy but I wish I could've stayed longer! We parked just a street away from the property which wasn't a bother at all. There is parking at the rear though! Definitely recommend staying here!

The house itself is lovely and we had a great stay when we eventually could start making our way for our holiday. unfortunately at 4am on the morning if travel I was woken to a text saying that my stay was about to be cancelled. At 9am when the management company opened it was confirmed that they had forgotten to send me a link to pay the £25 insurance. Having received the link and paying straight away they still never hot back to me, I had again 1 hr later to chase them for confirmation and entry codes to the property. Needless to say we didn't start our journey until we know everything was in order. very poor show, sorry.

Quality items in the house, wasn't kitted out with the cheap basic knives for example were better than ours at home!
Local artists work on the wall/decorative pieces added to the overall feeling of quality decor.
Comfy beds with pristine bedding and towels.
Dog area at the end of the road was perfect for our dogs toilet requirements.
Parking isn't possible at the property. A small car could be left in the back street. We had no issue parking our large van in the adjacent street.

King’s Cottage in Amble was a great find. It is in a quiet street with handy parking in the lane that goes behind the house. There are key safes at the back and front doors which is very handy.
The house is tastefully decorated and nicely set-up with a well appointed Kitchen with ample utensils, tableware and serving ware. Basic provisions were also appreciated. It has a very comfortable lounge and the dining room seats 6 easily.
Only a short walk into town but it is rather quiet so check out an eating establishment early or cook at home.
We used King’s Cottage as a base to explore Alnwick Castle and Seahouses for a boat trip to see the puffins. There is a boat trip that leaves from Amble to see the puffins so if you want to do that one book early.
Overall a very pleasant experience.
