The Hideaway exceeded our expectations. The house is absolutely beautiful inside and out, in a beautiful tranquil area too. Martli was a great host, very proactive and responsive, from the moment we booked up until checkout. All our questions answered timely, suggestions like available delivery services offered upon check-in. We stayed for 5 days only had a power outage for about 15 mins and even then we didn't panic because she immediately checked in on us. A special mention to Nomsa the housekeeper; such a lovely lady to deal with, as well as Martli's husband who even offered us transport when ours was delayed. We never had any issues with the tenant on the property, could barely tell there was someone else on the property.

100% worth the price just be prepared to travel a little for things you want and need to do. Though the host intended to be kind and helpful, she is a bit invasive and we can’t completely deny the comments from a previous review saying she was racist. There were no blatant comments but some of them definitely felt uncomfortable and underhanded. The house keeper is lovely and the host does go over and beyond to accommodate. She came over almost everyday and the listing didn’t tell us that there was another home inside the gate with us where a full time tenant lives. Overall I would definitely recommend it.

Worst Experience Ever - Avoid This Racist Host Matli Our stay at 88 Hideaway Airbnb was an absolute nightmare. From the start, we were disrespected and insulted by the host, who is blatantly racist. Martli insulted us and called us “low-class people” just short of calling us the K-word. The cleaner, who had a key, walked into the house without warning several times, this was never communicated in advance, and it felt like a complete invasion of privacy. At one point made a disgusting comment about our car being “associated with transporting whores.” On the last day, Martli herself also invaded our privacy by walking in before check-out, accusing us of bringing “whores” and engaging in debauchery in her house. She even called security on us simply because we were a few minutes late checking out—after she caused the delay. Even the security guards were offended by how she was talking to us, and thankfully, they didn’t take any action because they saw through her baseless accusations.
