Arrived at our property at 4:30 on 30th December 2025 with our 4 month baby after a 2 hour car journey. On arrival our property was a mess, there was pizza boxes, ketchup splattered on walls, bags of dirty washing, the outdoor area was a mess too! We contacted host&stay who advised we should go to a local pub and they would provide £10 each for food and drink whilst they found us another property. After an hour I rang back and they had just cancelled the property and provided a full refund. We were now stuck in the middle of nowhere the day before New Year’s Eve, holiday ruined and nowhere else bookable due to it being new year. The company provided no further assistance and passed it back to air b n b. 5 hours passed and I was getting nowhere with air b n b. Passed from pillar to post, no alternative accommodation and no consistent help. I had no choice but to take my young child home further hours in the car. Totally spoilt our new years plans, this had been booked months in

Hot tub was great, nice and clean. Only issue Freeview on tv kept cutting out.

Instructions to enter the property were all straight forward and easy to access. Beautiful lodge, very clean with a private hot tub and on site was the Crazy Horse saloon for entertainment and arcades. Just checked in with us while we were there and no issues at all to report. Plenty to do in the area with a short drive. Had a lovely time.

I’ve stayed at Bockenfield numerous times so knew what to expect with location, the lodge itself was as expected also. Unfortunately the hot tub cover had clearly been absorbing water whether it was rain or from the hot tub itself there was a clear issue, due to this the lid was extremely heavy and I hurt my back moving it over the 3 days we stayed. I am 6’3 and go to the gym regularly, I am certain alot of people would have struggled to move the lid at all. This is clearly not acceptable. The hot tub also wasn’t up to temperature, when I contacted the owner who is in fact Sam not Dale I was informed other users had not been taking care when removing the lid. Also the heating hub went off I was also informed by Sam this was an ongoing issue however if I could manually put the heating on at the boiler that was fine. This meant having the heating on constantly or not at all. Unfortunately these issues are the responsibility of the owner and the care had not been taken to rectify them.

Such a lovely lodge with all the facilities you could possibly need with lots of nice touches! In a very quiet location which was nice for a peaceful getaway. Host was easy to get a hold of with quick replies. Easy check in. Would definitely recommend to friends and family as one of the nicest lodges I’ve stayed in. Thanks for having us!

We had an absolutely lovely time. Very relaxing and chilled. Finally got a chance to explore Northumberland and had a lovely place to come back to to relax

Lovely lodge just off the A1, but hidden away in a quiet area. Perfect location to get around all of Northumberland. The lodge has everything you need and was like a home from home. The hot tub was enjoyed by us all.

Great clean quiet place to stay. Hot tub lovely but very difficult to get it and out of. Central to the sights to see and woill ok d recommend this place but only if you don’t mind the lack of WiFi.

Very pleased with our stay. Very quiet location, not much disturbance. Parking for 1 car at least; the adjacent home is very close so it was a little annoying as they would park over both spaces. Hot Tub was great! Very very clean home with plenty of bedding. Downsides: washing machine was broken, they did inform me but only once we had arrived. The TV didn’t work either. Really could benefit from Wi-fi as I struggled for phone signal but this is really dependent on networks and personal preferences. Lovely touches with the drinks and dinner table set up.
