Great location for us visiting family locally. Shower and bath for someone tall or with mobility issues could be problematic but we managed. Homely and cosy, it had all the appliances and facilities we needed. Enjoyed our stay.

We had a lovely few days in this beautiful place in an equally beautiful part of the world. Host and agent were both great, accommodation was spot on and very generous in terms of size. Parking for 2 cars really helped us. Would come back in a heart-beat. 10 out of 10. Loved it.

We enjoyed our stay so much on this property. The stables our beautiful and you are surrounded by beautiful nature. The host was very kind and welcoming. We loved travelling to Malton and to the seaside as they were in driving distance. The house has all you need and such a surprise to be surrounded by the most gorgeous race horses. We also met friendly neighbours on the dog walk. I look forward to returning back to this property. Thank you so much 🥰

Had a lovely stay at Widger Mews Apartment. The property is spacious, clean & very comfortable, with everything you need for a perfect stay & private parking included. Great base for getting to Malton, Pickering & North York Moors. One of the highlights of our stay was watching the horses from the nearby stables go past every morning! Would 💯 recommend Widger Mews & will definitely return if we venture up north again! 😊

We are a group of 4 adults stayed for 5 nights. The premises was bright, spacious in the sitting room, and with comfortable design and attractive rental charge. However after check in, there were hiccups including window of family bathroom cannot be opened, door cannot be locked. Exhaust of en suite shower room not working, kitchen stove lamp not working & no frying pan available! Report made to the host at once. Luckily a technician arrived after an hour & the family bathroom window opened & door became lockable. An electrician came on next AM. He replaced the en suite bathroom exhaust & the light bulb above stove efficiently! We were suggested to buy a new frying pan & claim reimbursement afterwards! However we did not want to waste time on this issue & just use other utensils! The premises was designed for 8 heads & crockery were enough for we 4. But there was only 1 kitchen towel, 4 dishwasher capsules for 5 nights & 4 toilet rolls which are not enough for 4 heads 5 nights

We stayed at Widger Mews Apt in order to see friends and go sightseeing for four days in June. The place is spacious and it is wonderful to have your breakfast to the sound of the hoofs of the racing horses being trained in the area. It was wonderful to watch the beautiful creatures trot by. Malton is a cosy village with nice shops and cafees with friendly staff. The area is beautiful. We visited Castle Howard - spent the whole day there. It was fantastic and well worth a visit. We would come back any day. We went to York for a day. Also a great experience. We also went to Thirsk to visit the home of James Herriot - author of All Creatures Great and Small. Drove through beautiful scenery to Helmsley and Yourshire Moors. We hope to come back to Widger Mews someday.

Thank you so much for a great stay! Very spacious and clean lovely decor. My husband loves horses and horse racing, lovely paintings and surrounded by stables was a bonus!! Very comfy bed - such a peaceful quiet sleep! Tea bags and coffee pods including decaf available - such a treat! Bath felt like a hug- great shape and design. Town within walking distance which has a great range of restaurants, pubs and shops! Picked up some great books from the charity shop too! Also just to add champagne flutes- recent places I’ve stayed at didn’t have these - another bonus. We’ve decided we want to come back every year! Thanks again 😃

Beautiful peaceful surroundings with Malton almost on your doorstep as a short drive away or a little 1.5 mile walk. The property is large and plenty and space with a beautiful bathroom and hot hot water. The decor was traditional and comfortable. Would highly recommend for a relaxing peaceful stay, especially if you love tradition and horses as it is surrounded by stables and racehorses.

We were visiting Family in Malton between Christmas and New Year. It was ideal for our needs. It was warm and nicely decorated for Christmas. The kitchen was well stocked and clean. We walked from the apartment to the Railway station to catch the York train which took about 35 minutes and then the ride was about 40 minutes, so very easy. However, the train only runs once an hour. The last night we were there at midnight the power went off just as I was unplugging a bedside light. Thinking I had fused the property I emailed Charlie as I was worried for future guests. He was quick to respond and reassured me that it was not my fault and that there was a power cut. So when they say, they are always available to help, they really are!! I wasn't expecting any contact at such an unsociable hour. Would definitely stay again.

We had a great 4 day stay at the apartment. It was much bigger than I was expecting from the photos, and everything was clean and in good condition. The weather had turned cold the week we arrived, but the apartment was lovely and warm to arrive back to at the end of each day. Coffee machine was a very welcome feature in the kitchen. The host was very responsive to any questions, and very friendly. We will definitely be back.

Look out for the collection of stables and buildings on the main road and signage for the Vetinary practice. Enter car park by steep ramp. Good parking for 2 cars. No external lights in car park bring torch. Small automatic light over door on the end of the building. 2 flights of internal stairs. Good quiet location managed by a letting company. Nearest supermarket 10 minutes drive. Horse lovers dream.... race horse stables adjacent to property. Training track nearby and early mornings busy with groups of horses and riders heading for exercise. NOTE Property managed by an agency expect external agency to make contact.

Nice place, and lovely and warm for these cold miserable winter times, everything you could possibly need in the kitchen for the average weekend stay, a bit disappointed that there was no “welcome pack” just a few milk sachets, thankfully we had stopped off at the shop on our way in, also the towels need renewing there were holes in 2 of the bath towels, although the bedding was nice. All in all a pleasant stay catching up with friends.

Lovely, well-equipped and comfortable property, in lovely location with great access to explore beautiful Yorkshire. Within walking distance to Malton and its local amenities. Particularly enjoyed waking up to the sound of the race horses setting out for their exercise! Would recommend highly.

The accommodation was nice and comfortable. Unfortunately, we had a towel that had a really nasty stain on it (it looked like it had fallen into a cow pat) and Host and Stay did nothing to replace this. I contacted the owner direct and she was extremely helpful but I felt that Host and Stay let everyone down.

Really enjoyed staying here. Just as described and so quiet and peaceful. Only a short taxi ride into Malton for the food festival. We could have walked if we were more mobile. Would definitely stay again. Thankyou.

It was cold as only half the radiators seem to work. Very angry that despite promises to the contrary 8 days after check out we still have not had the £240 refund (minus £10 charge). Overall property was nice enough but these two issues a sorry let down.

We enjoyed our stay. It's a 30 minute walk into Malton but there are footpaths alongside the road. The only negative comments we have is that the bathrooms were both cold (it was -4 C outside ) and the apartment was missing a bottle opener. Otherwise a very nice stay.

Pros: Interesting history of horse racing. Large apartment with a beautiful main room. Peaceful location, a 30 minute walk to Malton (not the 10 mins described). Cons: after booking we had to complete a security deposit with either a non-refundable arrangement fee of £10 or a £25 waiver. This is not on the Airbnb details, and you can't cancel Airbnb booking you lose 50%. The £60 cleaning fee is excessive. The bathrooms and kitchen were very clean but there were dead flies and ladybirds on windowsills and kitchen floor. There's no lit sign from the main road to tell you what drive to take. There is no outside lighting, key safe was difficult to find, the yard is rough underfoot, you need a torch. No central heating and only 1 small electric radiator was on when we arrived, it was freezing in bedrooms. The hot water is operated by an on /off switch. The sofa had a hole in it. No fire alarm in main room, it had been removed. WiFi doesn't work. Ok but overpriced fees

Lovely owner & property -we would like to stay again however we did have a couple of concerns:- The entrance door has no latch or Yale so literally had to be locked every time. Only one key is provided so it did make it inconvenient when part of the group wanted to go out -when it’s an upstairs stable conversion locking people inside didn’t seem right or pulling the outside door too with a cardboard box behind to avoid it blowing open/letting the heat escape wasn’t ideal. The property took a €250 bond which was fine but the management agents £10 fee & 10days to reimburse said fee seemed excessive & not what we have experienced before

Would 100% recommend staying here. The area around the apartment is so private and quiet day and night. It was perfect for us as we have family that live 10 minutes from the apartment. It is really big as well, such a spacious apartment. Everything was really clean and the host was really helpful with recommendations. It had everything you need. Would 100% stay here again.
