Perfect for walking Whitby.. quite a few steps to deal with getting around the town but the home stay was perfectly clean with excellent linen and towels. Water pressure in the bathrooms was great, my only issue is soft mattresses . But this is a holiday home, and very comfortable for the purpose. Thank you

Fantastic location, large off street parking space which is a very big bonus in whitby, close to the beach and only a 10 minute walk in to town, ideal location for me, nice and quiet with a really nice Chinese restaurant at the end of the road. The main bedroom, the bed was really comfy so a big bonus for me. all in all the place was lovely and will definitely book again

The property was very well situated in a quiet area and within an easy walk of the West Pavilion where we were attending a function. Also great to have a private parking area.
It was clean, modern and tidy and ideal for the 4 of us (all adults) 2 bathrooms plus a downstairs toilet.
The kitchen was well equipped apart from there not being any wine glasses which really need to be added. An easy fix!
A mirror in the smaller bedroom would be useful and also the addition of some wardrobe/hanging space in the main bedroom would help.
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again.

Pros: parking off road
Close to whitby centre (& a Chinese right round the corner!)
Short walk to the beach (but hilly!)
Home is in good condition, good selection of utensils and cutlery/bowls etc
3 toilets! Great for a family or 3 adults haha.
Quiet area
Little enclosed garden for doggies (all concrete slabs)
Washing line!
Little extras like some washing liquid, dishwasher tablets, a cloth, tea towel etc.

Cons:
The beds are not particularly comfy and creak a lot (so does the floor/stairs) no summer bedding left out, the only option was a thick heavy winter duvet which was too much even in early September when it was still 18 degrees.
No clear instructions on when payments will be taken or that you have to go around the side of the building to get in and find the key area.
No freezer!
Scuff marks on walls
Outside lights weren't working on either side of the property.
No mirror in back bedroom
No wardrobe in the en suite bedroom
Cobwebs in toilets and rooms and the base boards all could have done with being wiped down and the extractor fan
Oven trays etc all needed washing before use
En suite towel rail was coming away from the wall
Says its dog friendly but dogs can't go upstairs- yet there's no way to stop them (no door, no doggie gate etc) - we had to put a big suitcase across the bottom of the stairs, luckily our dog has short legs!

The bed was very comfortable. 2 bathrooms and a downstairs toilet. Nice pictures on the walls. Quiet location. Being able to park the car outside.

Fridge door handle dropped off straight away. Difficult to open the fridge. Spotlight on the wall on the block across road shining into our bedroom window at night.

Fantastic communication with host.

Great (free) parking for 2 vehicles
Complementary tea,coffee and milk.
Exceptionally good quality towels.
Crisp fresh bedding
Great shower facilities with complimentary toiletries.

The accommodation needs a little TLC.
Couple of holes in the wall need repairs, carpet in kitchen needs cleaning or replacing and a lick of paint wouldn't hurt.
We stripped the beds and found that the actual quilts we're quiet stained.

We had an amazing stay in this lovely, clean, spacious holiday home. It has everything we needed including parking on the premises. Excellent location in walking distance of everything.

Very convenient location

Cleanliness. Lounge carpet badly stained, all surfaces not cleaned, weeds all over terrace area, rusty outdoor furniture to rear and balcony needs throwing out, stinking mop in downstairs toilet. TLC needed overall. Upstairs beds and baths fine although both shower controllers v difficult to turn and probably break soon.
Maybe absentee owner who isnt aware of any of the above?

Had a great stay at Whitby at west cliff retreat the house was very clean very comfortable and great car parking and out door space would definitely stay there again it was a beautiful peaceful place to stay definitely recommend ☺️

Great layout with some basics on arrival for the kitchen/cleaning and some nice toiletries.

Was just a bit more of a walk to the heart of Whitby than we appreciated but had to weigh that up with the modern house with easy parking outside the door.

The house was tidy, well presented, thoughtfully furnished and had most things we needed for our stay. Parking was great! A bonus after a long car journey. Good to have a separate room from the children and fold out bed in our room. Beautifully clean showers and bedding. Nice walk into town either along the beach or via the sea view path. The house is lovely inside and mostly well kept. We would definitely want to stay again!

The hob had a damaged ring which made us a bit nervous about using it and we had not been told about it. The kitchen could do with a blind up in the sink window as the flats at the back can see in on a night. Some tongs in the kitchen would be a welcome addition, and a washing up bowl for the sink would make it easier to wash up. The chairs outside were rusty - I honestly don't think they are needed. The towel rail in the en-suite was about to come off the wall. But the biggest thing for us was the bunk bed. It needs tightening up. The whole bed moved/swayed as one of my children went to lay down for the night, and he was scared to sleep up on the top, so slept on the fold out bed in the main bedroom.

Location was great. Beds comfy. Good showers. Comfortable accommodation. Would stay again.
Easy to book and to get into accommodation.

Outside area at back had lots of weeds. Tables and chairs were rusty and need replacing. There was a shortage of glassware (wine glasses) & cutlery. All easy to remedy stuff which would make it a lot more welcoming. A freezer drawer in the fridge would be nice.

Stayed here before, nice living area with all facilities, comfy beds and handy for the beach.

Just needs a little tlc if we are being honest.
When we went to get the key from the safe box we were greeted with the back gate hanging half off, this needs repairing asap as it really does look bad!

Well laid out house with everything we needed. The location is good overall and the room layout is excellent. The house was also warm and cosy. The parking is great.

The house is very tired. It needs a coat of paint, both in and out. The outside is very scruffy. Also the security lights across the road light up the bedroom throughout the night. Finally the bathrooms desperately need blinds. They're quite embarrassing to use at night.

The location was walking distance of the town. The property was a great base for exploring nearby visitor attractions. We had everything we needed to prepare simple meals.

The outdoor furniture was uncomfortable so not suitable for eating outside.

Lovely 2 bedroom house in a very quiet and safe area with lots of parking. The toiletries were a nice touch. The kitchen had everything you needed and 2 bathrooms and 3 toilets is great.

The outside lights didn’t work so it was quite tricky to work the key safe in the dark. The outside furniture is a bit old and rusty and the patio are was a bit neglected. The printed info for the Wi-Fi has the wrong password but we worked it out in the end.

We had a great stay at this property overall. It was a little confusing to find but once we did it was really easy to access the property. It was in a great location 2 minutes walk from the beach and just a 10 minute walk into Whitby. There is wifi at the property but the password provided was incorrect and so we couldn’t access it for the first day of our stay. This wouldn’t have been an issue but the signal in the area is terrible so we couldn’t use our data either to search for things to do or make restaurants bookings etc. I contacted host and stay about this but because they were quite slow to respond and told me to restart my phone and forget the network etc & to put the same password in which again didn’t work. In the end I just checked the router for the password and tried that and it worked so password details need updating. Overall we had a lovely stay.

Lovely property! Peaceful and ample space inside for a family of 4. The two parking spaces were a bonus too. Would definitely stay again and hoping to go back sometime later in the year!
Facilities were brilliant. Three bathrooms was a definite advantage with two teenagers. Washing machine and dishwasher too. And I liked it that you provided dish cloths, washing up liquid, tea towels and even dishwasher tablets!
Only negative is similar to others comments, please clean the outdoor spaces like the patio and balcony. Luckily we didn't have the weather to use them but they both need a really good jet wash for guests to be able to use!
But other than that, could not fault the property at all! Far enough away from the hectic centre but close enough to walk into town. Loved our stay and just wish we could have stayed longer!!

We had a great stay at 32 Welton Court in Whitby. The place itself is in a fantastic location for us. Really close to the beautiful West Cliff beach which is a real bonus for us... and the dog 😊 & a 10 minute walk down to the harbour and town (15 at our leisurely pace!). The house is really spacious and very comfy, the beds especially. Lovely clean, soft, white bed linen. Nice hot, powerful showers! We only had 2 very minor grumbles, only a very small amount of loo roll in each toilet (less than half a roll). Very nice to have a dishwasher but no dishwasher tablets. Would be great if this was provided seeing as most visitors would only use 1 or 2 max per visit. The place was clean and tidy in the most part but lots of dirty water marks on the shower screens and the shower tray in the main bathroom was dirty and some stray hairs. Easily sorted with a quick rinse but with a £60 cleaning fee as standard, I expected spotless. Overall very happy & we will definately be back again soon.

Unfortunately we didn't get of to a good start, when we arrived the property was dirty. We called to let them know, so they sent out a cleaner who cleaned a second time and still missed 50%of the dirt we complained about. We decided to buy our own cleaning products to do it ourselves. Stains on the carpets. Hair and sand on the sofas. Dried on food on the sofa cushions. Pet hair set off my allergies. Grease on the hob. Bin lid dirty.Sticky food on the tables. I brought a nice candle to make the place smell better. No freezer compartment for ice. No wine glasses. No drying rack. And no shevels or surfaces to put belongings on. No games or anything. Very basic. Outside area was also un-kept. I always use Sykes cottages so this is first time using another agency. For the same price I could have got a better equipped and cleaner property with Sykes so I won't be using this company again.

The location was ideal especially as we had our family dog with us. On-site parking is a big bonus. Good range of cooking utensils if required.

The outside could do with a little TLC and if the weather had been better then I think I would have bought some seat pads for the metal chairs. No ‘views’ from the property but we knew that when we chose it.

On arrival it was disappointing to see an unkempt exterior, weeds and rusty furniture. The windows and interior glass table & mirrors were very dirty. £60 for cleaning was extortionate as it wasn't very clean. The tables had sticky rings on and there is dust and crumbs under the sofa cushions. There needs to be a shelf in the showers and hooks as there is nowhere to put things. The place needs a thorough clean and a freshen up.

Great location and the property looks just like the photos. Arrival instructions very clear and access via the key box was easy. Unfortunately I don’t think the place house had been cleaned after the previous guests. Informed the host who offered to send cleaners round but we had already dealt with it. After reading a few other reviews & the host responses I assumed that the points mentioned would have been dealt with…they haven’t…the property needs a some TLC and the furniture in the rear yard and on the balcony is really way below what you would expect for the price you pay. On the positive side the parking for 2 cars immediately outside is a massive bonus. I would definitely return but would like to see the host positively action some of the points raised in the feedback.

Within walking distance to main shopping area, very close to the beach and a great Chinese restaurant nearby for dining in or takeaway. Parking outside the accomodation was ideal as can struggle for parking in Whitby. Would definitely recommend and would book again.

The property is in a convenient location for the pavilion end of Whitby. It was generally pleasant with modern decor and furnished to a good standard, two shower rooms (one en-suite) and a third toilet downstairs.

Although the price was advertised on Booking.com as all inclusive with no taxes or surcharges, Host & Stay sprung a £10 non-refundable "administration charge" for them to take my deposit. When I queried this, they said it was refundable and I only proceeded with the booking once they had put this in writing. When the stay was complete, Host & Stay refunded the deposit minus the administration charge. Then started weeks of chasing and I had to provide their earlier email as proof when they insisted they don't normally refund this. In the end it took 4 weeks to get my deposit back. I would never book another Host & Stay property.
In terms of the property itself, there was little storage space, so having somewhere to hang clothes would have been nice. The heating was also slightly tempermantal with the Hive controller randomly resetting itself.

We enjoyed a fantastic stay at 32 Welton Court! The host was incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The space was clean and beautifully decorated, making it feel like a home away from home. The parking situation was incredibly convenient, with space directly outside the flat so I didn't have to worry about my car at all. The location was perfect, with Whitby town centre being only a 10 minute walk away. I'd happily stay here again! Highly recommended!

Looks just like the photos, good location about a 20 minute walk to the centre of whitby if you have a dog probably quicker if you’re just a couple on your own. It was right next to west cliff beach which was lovely to walk past everyday and made it lovely a cool on such a hot week.
Easy to find and easily accessible. Few things needed maintaining such as random drill holes in walls and upstairs light not working and also a lot of weeds outside and rusty garden furniture. Overall a good stay and was contacted every so often to make sure things were ok. A good place to have dogs stay over aswell.

This property was in a great location for us accessing Whitby town centre and the beach. It came with parking for two also. The property was modern and comfortable but there are definitely some areas that could do with some maintenance. There were big weeds growing over the car park area and in front of the door which should have been cleared. The balcony upstairs needed a good clean and the chairs were rusty. The back garden area could have done with maintenance too. There were no blinds in the toilets or main bedrooms either which was needed really. The kitchen seemed very well equipped which was good and there are 3 toilets which all seemed modern and clean.

Great property, a small place but so well laid out it felt huge. 2.5 bathrooms was so useful, after spending a day in the sea, both kids could shower as soon as they got home.
Close to everything in Whitby yet felt very quiet and peaceful at night.
Loved the place, look forward to booking again

Good location for walking to Whitby centre and also the beach. Free parking was also appreciated.
The property shows some signs of needing maintenance - water stains of on the walls in a couple of places from leaks and small parts of plaster missing here and there. Would have appreciated a small top box freezer compartment to the undercounter fridge. No garden so to speak off and only 2 rusty garden chairs and table (despite the property being a sleeps 5) which need replacing.
Very disappointed with the Management Company responsible for the property and would actively choose not to stay in another property managed by them again. Despite is being mid-summer there was a weighty, winter duvet on the double bed which we complained about the first night but they did nothing to change it. Not an option to leave window open as only patio doors to the bedroom. We also asked for 2 other items which ought to have been provided and neither were during our stay. Very poor service.

on stainless steel cooker hood, rings in cupboard, stains all offer down stairs carpet, hair tong burns on carpet in main bedroom, bulbs missing in room and landing we got in touch to complain on the Saturday and said they would be out to replace the bulbs on the Monday did not show, so phoned again be out Wednesday did not show again the cleaning cost £65 had to do it my self

We really enjoyed our stay and the location was perfect. Although the property sleeps 5 comfortably, there are only 4 chairs at the dining table. We had to use one of the chairs from the patio area if we wanted to sit and eat together.

Although there were only 2 of us with our 2 small dogs the house would have been plenty big enough for the 5 guests it is advertised for. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a lovely stay here, the location was perfect just across from the sea! Very nice and quiet which is just what we wanted. We felt cosy and happy here. One thing which is not necessarily a downside, is that we couldn't control the heating and it seemed to be quite hot at times despite turning off the radiators. Otherwise a near perfect stay.

Location and parking space was excellent. Property was lovely, well furnished and clean. Could have been slightly cleaner but I am a perfectionist.

Check in time 4pm. Even 3pm would be better.

Ideal location for a family. Close to the beach and only a 10-15 minute walk into the centre. It was a quiet area with only local residents around. The property was very clean, modern and had all the amenities you could want/need. Would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to others.

stayed for 2 nights in November. prior to arrival had good communication with the host&stay team. accessed property via a key safe. first impressions were that there were some damp in lounge corner and some holes in wall which had been filled but not painted and the outdoor lights not working (we couldnt find a switch?) albeit minor issues but when I had just paid £250 up front for any potential damages I expected there to be no issues with the property when we arrived. the location is fantastic, the parking off road and close by is useful and we were able to make use of the outdoor 3 point sockets for our electric car. some tea, coffee, sugar and a small carton of semiskimmed milk were provided; as were soap, shampoo and body wash in each bathroom. sofas, beds and pillows were comfy and the towels/bedding were soft and clean.
all in all a good stay

Just come back from a fab stay. The place was perfect for our family of 4 and dog. Location is excellent, 2 minutes from the beach and a 15 walk into the centre, we didn’t use our car the whole time we were there. Would definitely look at booking here again 😊

Would be a very nice place stay just let down by not great cleaning, and had some issues with things that should have been sorted properly like water damage, black mould in one of the showers, being 4* I expected things like this to be sorted properly

Cleaning bad, think some of propety not been cleaned for god nose how long cobwebs everywhere, except some but not in main light shade in front room, side tables, on picture above your head in main bedroom bannister don't think ever been cleaned, lots of cobwebs all over downstairs, hover was covered in paint, maybe plaster and really dirty also left half full
Could see been leaks to radiators downstairs and stains on carpet, been water damage towards corner room near sofa above plug sockets didn't fancy using them and would have expected it to be paint not just left with big brown marks, a lot of black mould in bottom of en suite bathroom would have expected this to be sorted, enjoyed our stay but expected a lot better from a 4* propety and lessened our enjoyment of our holiday

Somewhere to put your toiletries inside the shower. My husband has difficulty bending. He’s a strapping ex rugby player so space was a bit tight for him.

Highly recommend this lovely, spacious and clean complex! Beautifully decorated and thoughtfully designed, it was such a perfect base. The location was amazing and central to anywhere we needed to get to in Whitby, plus accessible to other towns and villages too. We loved it and hope to be back for longer next time. No complaints at all from our family of 4, or the pooch!

Fantastic property with two good sized bedrooms and a very well equipped open plan living/kitchen area. Many properties in the area don’t offer parking but this one has space for 2/3 cars. I would certainly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area.. we were only 2 but it could comfortably accommodate 4 people. We would certainly look to book again if we were visiting Whitby.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, theres everything you could possibly need, it’s beautifully decorated and has so much space! A lot of effort has been put into it. We took our dog too and it’s the perfect location for walks but also not far from the main attractions. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend to others!

We loved staying at this convenient location. Lovely clean accommodations. Loads of parking. If you’re staying in number 32 or 33, you need to look behind you for the apartments, they are not joined to the row of red brick buildings like the rest of the numbers.
I would definitely stay here again. Check was very easy.

We had an amazing stay in Whitby, the accommodation was perfect for us and a great location! We could see the sea from outside the house which was only a 10 minute walk down and a 10 minute walk into the center. We would definitely stay again and will recommend to anyone going to Whitby!

Location was great for access to the beach and lovely walks to Sands end , shorting walk into main area , harbour and a Chinese takeaway just around the corner. Netflix made foe a cosy night in. Lovely place
