The property itself is somewhere I would definitely stay again and recommend. It’s a lovely home with plenty of space and exactly what we needed. The area is lovely with easy local transport links. However, the communication could be better - I was contacted to fill in forms which had already been completed on booking and the documents sent re check in and the property didn’t match what was actually there, such as WiFi and lockbox location. Hopefully these will be updated. The property was clean and tidy but it would have been nice to know what extras we needed to take, for example there was no hand soap in any of the bathrooms and no washing up liquid in the kitchen. I’m not sure if these are things that would be provided but when only staying for a couple of days they would be nice to have. There was tea and coffee but I’m not sure if they were left by previous occupants. Overall, a great few days away and as I said I would book again and recommend to friends.

We were a family of seven visiting Whitby and chose Violets view as it had 5 bedrooms with en-suite, the bedroom without en-suite was next to the main bathroom so no problem there. The accommodation was very spacious and had everything that you needed to feel comfortable. Great outdoor area too. We had a very comfortable stay and we are definitely thinking of booking again.

Booked for my partners birthday trip (6 adults and 2 grandchildren), the house is large with every room having an en-suite (towels supplied). Ample parking space for our 3 cars. Local Sainsbury's a 5 minute walk away. For trips into Whitby we used buses - stops are a 5 minute walk away and take under 10 minutes (£2.40 each way). Negatives: Dirty floors. Need a good clean as after a few minutes, everyones socks had turned black. Hand Wash. A few of the rooms had no soap in the dispensers - had to purchase our own own. Blinds. Upstairs front left room blind broken. All blinds really dusty. Lack of curtains an issue as the rooms were very light early on. Air Fryer. Dirty inside and needed a good wash before use. Beds. Very noisy and we would wake each other up when one of us was turning over. Front Lawn overgrown and untidy. Only 4 large dinner plates. Wifi details sent incorrect - correct details in the handbook. Above issues took the edge of what could have been a great stay.

Fantastic well Equipped house. Spotlessly clean. Doesn’t look very big from roadside but like a Tardis. En suite bathrooms throughout beautiful. Loads of seating outside and inside so perfect for our group of 7 Only gripe was that the lawn at the front all over-grown so not a good first impression. It is a long walk into town, uphill on way back but easily doable if used to walking. Great appliances etc. Very happy.

We had a great stay, here are the positives; each bedroom had a bathroom. It was clean. The neighbourhood was really quiet and there was room for 2 cars. The negatives were that all of the mattresses had springs poking up and could do with replacing. The property isn’t very close to town, we drove in every day and there were spaces in the car parks. The WiFi signal kept dropping and it could do with a coffee machine. All in all, we were comfortable enough and the property size outweighed any negatives. Thanks for hosting us. Whitby are is great to explore, especially the little surrounding coastal villages. Host & Stay were very responsive, 5 stars for communication.

The house is exactly as described and will do the job. There were a lot of cobwebs and dust, and I had to wash most of the kitchen items before using them as they had crumbs/food on. There also aren’t any curtains at all, so as soon as the sun comes up you are wide awake due to the light. Maybe invest in some curtains?

The bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect for several adults or adults and older children. The glass coffee tables are not ideal for young toddlers. The pebbles in the back yard are also not great for kids or feet. No washing line. And the garden is not secure.

Great base for 5 of us for a walking weekend. Warm, quiet and comfortable . Supermarket is close by and it's about a 30 minute walk or 10 minute drive into town for a great variety of bars, cafes and restaurants.

Voilets view is perfect for a large group, the house was very clean, it was well stocked with everything you needed a home from home. The house is a little out of Whitby on a really quiet residential road so peaceful surroundings. There is a pub at the end of the road that was family friendly and we got the bus into the town ( really easy just opposite the Sainsbury’s, 5 min walk from the house) Would definitely go back to this house if we visit again

Had a really lovely family stay here during twixmas. The ample off-street parking was ideal and the heart of Whitby really is just a 5 minute drive away. The kitchen was very well equipped and there was plenty of seating for all 8 of us. The multiple en-suite bedrooms also made for a very convenient and comfortable stay. Very spacious, well provisioned and the welcome gift from Botham’s not only was a wonderful surprise and treat but also introduced us to a fabulous local business we then went on to visit. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Whitby.

Violet View was a lovely property. Ample room for large group with the added benefit of en-suite facilities in each bedroom. Kitchen was well equipped. Would stay again

me and my family had a lovely stay here for a few days great location not far from town and easy to get to, would definitely stay here again the house and everything we needed the only issue we had was the heating the radiators upstairs didn't seem to get hot so was very cold at night and in the mornings but apart from that was a lovely place to stay.

Stayed here for two nights with a group of 6 and it was a fantastic place. Plenty of bedrooms and plenty of toilets/en suites. The property was spacious and had everything we needed for a two night stay. The location was also brilliant for Whitby - it was a 5 minute drive and probably a 20 min walk all down hill. Will definitely stay here again with a group/family!

The house was absolutely amazing! Charlie’s from Host and Stay was responsive and the owner brought a highchair when one couldn’t be found. The location was a small walk from the bus stop letting us go into Whitby easily letting the family have a relaxing holiday without the worry about parking. All rooms were spotless. The back Patio was large and plenty of space for the entire family to sit and relax. We will definitely be looking at booking again when going back to Whitby!

This was a beautiful place to stay with lots of space inside and outside. Had everything we needed . Close to Whitby and the parking really made a difference as we didn’t need to worry about finding on street parking.

we stayed at violets view last weekend . The house was spacious and clean and had a lovely garden area. The house was perfect for our group of 7 people. Town centre was about a 25 stroll which again was perfect for us. The property was just as described and we would definitely recommend and book again.

Would give Violet’s View 110% if we could. Such a perfect home for our family of 7 adults. It was absolutely spotless with 4 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and the other bedroom had a full bathroom right next door. More than enough comfortable seating for all of us. We had perfect weather and were able to sit outside for breakfast in the fabulous back garden which was an amazing warm sun trap. We couldn’t have asked for anything more and would definitely visit again if we came back to Whitby.

We stayed at Violets View over the May Bank holiday weekend and we have had the most amazing time. The house is pristine, absolutely spotless, warm and inviting. Lots of nice seating in the garden too which we managed to enjoy. Fully equipped kitchen with a Ninja included a real bonus. Thank you for the Bothams treats too, they were well received. We can’t wait to return

We booked this weekend for a friend’s holiday to celebrate a birthday. The price was reasonable for 8 people and the pictures were spot on. There were a few little things I wasn’t personally happy with like not having spare washing up liquid and kitchen roll and we did find mouse poo behind the sofa. Apart from that it was lovely and clean upon arrival and I love the little treats we received ◡̈ Overall I would recommend as we enjoyed it, also was really close to pubs and shops and Whitby bay (within walking distance if you want). Also the place was amazing for having 5 bathrooms with 4 being ensuite.
