lovely apartment & great location. however, I stayed for a month and felt like it was missing things for a long stay (kitchen pots/pans, more than 2 forks & knives, cleaning supplies). the hot water also seemed to run out quickly when washing dishes. but the location definitely makes up for those things, the beach is a 5 min walk and there are loads of cafes and shops within 5 min.

overall not bad stay. first impressions was not cleaned the best with excessive dust on hob extractor and smells from the toilet. Nice bed but very uncomfortable as felt like a cheap matress. Shower needs looking at as it either freezes you or gives you 3rd degree burns. Great location and is ideal for a one night stay but wouldn’t recommend for a longer stay

This property did not fit the images on the website and was drearily and sparsely furnished and maintained and smelt damp. Although we had picked it as it had a parking space, this was not the case. We did not stay in the property at all and had to find somewhere else for our weekend break. The property was wet from a water leak running down the wall and the carpet was wet and soggy in a large patch in the main room. The electric sockets were fused as one of the sockets had water running into it. We deemed it unfit and unsafe and uninhabitable, in the circumstances. Now waiting for a decision about giving us our money back, which in the circumstances should have been immediately refunded. Not at all acceptable treatment.

Firstly the location is brillant, a few things to note: lots of stains and hair on carpet, a towel rail in toilet room would be ideal, left over chips in the floor from previous guest, A coat hooks would be a nice touch and a door matt, Full length mirror Seaside style furnishing too Overall was not cleaning air b and b i’ve stayed in and definitely room for improvement for comfort and home from home More glasses would be nice, maybe dog bowls too would be a nice thouch as it is a dog friendly apartment Comfy bed, and covered essential needs met, could be cleaner

Great stay. Wonderful location. Short walk to the beach and town centre. Everything we needed for 4 nights. High ceilings made it a nice and spacious feel. Host and stay very responsive and kept us up to date from booking to check in. Only downside which is for our stay specifically. The occupant that booked the apartment above had a dog that did not sleep. Friday and Saturday nights were tough. Could hear its every move from 7pm to 4am. Shocked to see pets were allowed.

Would highly recommend and is a prime location being in Scarborough. Everything is within walking distance from a local shop, beach, restaraunts and much more!! Shower is nice and hot, bed is nice and comfy and a brilliant view onto the cricket field.

Modern apartment. Good location for the open air theatre. Nice views of the cricket ground. However, management by Host & Stay was disappointing. I enquired about parking before booking and was told free parking on premises was "secure and conveniently located just a short distance from the property". There was no parking so I had to pay £44 at the NCP ten mins walk away. When I complained I was told "all I can say now is that we apologise". Similarly when the people above us in another apartment, also run by Host & Stay, were making excessive noise, I was told "I can't control the behaviour of others".

Very nice flat. Good location. Bed was very comfy. We went to watch the cricket, and the flat didn’t disappoint for that. The down side was the parking. Does say in the description no parking. But everywhere is disc only, or pay and display. Could be expensive if staying longer than a few days. Please don’t let that put you off. As the flat is lovely.

Great location and nice apartment. Didn't have any coffee unfortunately so you'll just need to bring your own. Also, I can imagine it being really warm in the summer. It was at the high end of bare able when we were there but I do run a bit warm already. But, the view of the cricket pitch is perfect if you want to watch a match. Overall, we'd stay again because it's a great location.

A fantastic stay in a beautiful apartment. The location was perfect — just a short walk to both the town centre and North Beach. The apartment itself was stylish, well-equipped, and spotless. The host was incredibly responsive and made everything easy from start to finish. We’d definitely return — it was a brilliant base for our time away. The only thing missing was the cricket as we would have had a beautiful view from the back window if it had been in, I guess the weather had other plans for that this weekend!

We enjoyed our stay at Umpires cottage and it was a great location for the open air theatre. A lovely airbnb that served us well. The kitchen was lacking some basic things and there were not enough glasses, only one wine glass.

We were not told that the apartments were not mobile friendly and that there were 4 flights of stairs and no lift. They gave us, my mam is 84yrs old with mobility issues, the top floor we were told by the owners friend that the apartment which was smaller than ours on the ground floor was available, we asked very nicely for a swop? however they wanted more money to swop rooms. That would have took the cost over £300 for 2 nights. They put Greed before peoples needs, showing no empathy what so ever. When I informed the host that we had no hot water to wash up or to wash our faces with, the message I received back was a smiley emoji. Overall the apartment was ok but the hosting skills were disgraceful, I would not recommend or ever stay with them again. Dale ,the owner needs to remove Charlie (Charlie is a women) as his go between and find someone who is more approachable and understanding of people’s needs otherwise he’s going to lose a lot of customers with an attitude likes hers

Lovely flat which is in a great area, very quiet. Walkable to most areas in Scarborough. I feel upgrades needed to make things better, especially the mattress as you sink in the middle. A few more kitchen essentials would be good as well. Other than that, a lovely stay.

Great stay. We visit Scarborough often as my mother in law lives there. Fantastic modern apartment with views to die for. Lovely and warm and great hosts. Bed was a bit too soft for us. Super clean! We loved it but would prefer a firmer mattress. Thank you

Lovely, modern and comfortable air b n b. I had everything I needed for a short stay. Very accessible from the North Bay and local attractions. The only issue was there was only 1 glass provided, and 2 bowls. Might be nice to have more of these things. I didnt park during my visit, but street parking may be challenging in this area so worth confirming if you plan to bring a vehicle. Everything else was great, thank you for an excellent stay!

Beautiful apartment, decorated lovely and very clean. Easy to walk into town. Only issue is no parking at property and the lack of kitchen equipment. One glass in property and no tea towels (seems minor but made it a little hard work) Highly recommend and would reconsider rebooking. May not be suitable for people with poor mobility or if you take your older dogs especially if on top floors.

We stayed here a week with my wife and enjoyed it very much. Apartment was very clean, nicely decorated. Everything was as is in the pictures. Steps away from north bay. The only thing missing was washing machine tablets and few more forks and knives maybe. Host left 4-5 dishwasher tablets, it would be nice to have at least one tablet for washing machine. You also need to pay a deposit outside of Airbnb. Overall it was a wonderful stay.

I had a great week at Umpire's Watch. It's clean, looks great, is well laid out and has everything you'd expect from a modern town/city apartment. What sets it apart from other flats is the view. I was able to watch some great cricket matches, but you don't even have to like cricket to appreciate it as there is always something happening: the groundsman mowing or rolling the grass, different flocks of birds gathering. It was therapeutic! I would happily book again. The only thing I might do differently next time is not take my car - parking in Scarborough is tricky and you'll probably have to use a car park.

We teally enjoyed our stat and foubnd the apartment very well situated We will not be returning to the property because of the steep stairs. ( this was mentioned in the details ) we thought we would manage easier than we did. No fault of Host and Stay. The only small problem was that the heated towel rail was not working

Some issues with neighbours and weed (not owners issue) Did find lack of repaired in past broken items an issue . One wine glass . One Prosecco glass . No oven grill top for bacon or our lamb chops. Two iron burns on carpet however rest very clean and well maintained . Considering the charge to cover damage it’s clearly taken from us users and when damage done it’s just left as in carpets it hasn’t replaced kitchen breakages . So feels an extra charge for us for the sake of a charge. It’s otherwise good value but some things to readdress I’d say in future

We had a lovely stay in Umpires Watch. It met all our requirements and was clean and tidy. We booked because it was pet friendly and took our Labrador with us. I guess the only downside is that the pet friendly apartment was on the 3rd floor so it meant 4 flights of stairs every time he wanted to go out. Apart from that I have no complaints and would stay again. The local bar is pet friendly and they made us very welcome.

This is a corporate. I had to send a picture, a video to an email after talking to a customer care person and then i had to call them again and then the customer care guy luckily managed to tell me how many times to rotate the lock key to get the keys to the room. All this i had to do standing outside for an hour making customer care calls and trying to add the video to the email, standing in the bad weather. This was such a small issue otherwise. The kitchen did not have cleaning scrub. Summary- beautiful property but managed by a corporate call centre.

Great place to stay for a couple days, it was perfect over Christmas. We loved that it was pet friend and very clean. Lovely walk from there to the beach or up to Scarborough Castle. Only negative really is that parking was not super close especially factoring some winter weather.

This is a great place to stay. We chose it because the price was ver reasonable compared to others in the area however when we arrived it was certainly not basic. The view from the room is spectacular. The TVs are huge and the bed really comfy so as we love these aspects we loved the stay! X

Modern, well equipped apartment in a lovely area of North Bay. Everything was great and true to description, the only issue we found was the lack of attention to details, stained bedding from what it looked like some muddy paws, dust and crumbs on the kitchen counter as well as glasses and tableware quite sticky and not washed properly. Lovely coastal walk almost on the doorstep and great restaurants short walk from the flat. Overall, good stay, comfy bed and love the decor, but it needs more attention on cleanliness.

On a whole it was an ok stay but not worth the money paid. It was in a good location and was an ‘attractive’ looking apartment but there were some issues. The shower was an awful experience. When we flagged issues with the water on demand (namely that you got 15 seconds of decent temperature before it turned boiling hot to then freezing cold - despite not using any water or heating prior) we were not given the best feedback, in essence was told it is what it is and they wouldn’t help. No we’re sorry you’re experiencing this or we’ll look into it. Host & Stay didn’t really bother. Host & Stay also said the only parking was local pay and displays. However outside of the apartment we noticed you could park free from 5pm to 9am and if you get a parking disk from a local agent you can have two extra hours from 9am to 5pm with no return for one hour. Something that would have been helpful to have been told. There was also a fair bit of dust on the stove top and other areas.

We were shocked at just how central this is! Peasholme Park & North Bay are right around the corner, and South Bay was only a 15 minute walk away! There are also corner shops a short distance away which was very ideal! Check in was very easy. The apartment door does stick a bit though, so be pre warned it needs a bit of a shove to close fully! The apartment was clean and tidy, and the kitchen has everything we needed. Including a welcome folder which had booklets such as travel information, takeaway menus, as well as local restaurant recommendations. We were provided with soap, shampoo & towels. There was also a hair dryer located in the bedroom cupboard. Street parking is through disc zones, and only allows free parking for up to 2 hours which was our only inconvenience. Luckily there was free parking from November 1st until February 28th at Victoria car park which is a 5 minute walk away! All in all, a fantastic stay! Highly recommended!

Great property! Self check in was super easy, the apartment is in an excellent location for both Scarborough town centre and the Open air theatre. There's parking outside but it's limited times which is fine if you're going to be using your car during day. As we weren't we used a long stay car park a few minutes walk away (£9 for 24 hours). There's a nice cafe for breakfast nearby as well as a couple of bakeries, an off licence and a few other shops and takeaways. The property itself is lovely. It's light and airy with everything you need for a few nights stay. The bed was super comfy. The bedroom overlooks Scarborough cricket ground and when we were there a match was being played. It was a nice way to pass a bit of time before we went out. With the windows closed you couldn't hear anything from the grounds so you won't be disturbed. We'd happily stay here again!

Check in at 3pm- room not clean, empty pizza boxes on table, used towels on floor, bed not made from people previously staying. 2 women at host and stay very helpful in sorting the situation quickly and we did receive some food vouchers for this as compensation which was great. Once checked in room looks nice, decorated well and nice view of the cricket ground however it is in need of an update as walls are very marked, a few places where holes have been filled in and touched up but not painted and this lets the place down. Also cups look dirty very stained which isn’t pleasant to drink from, cutlery in drawer some had food left on. Good location however price probably a little two expensive for a small flat. Bed was comfy to sleep in.

Great location and a lovely modern apartment. It was relatively clean, the sofa and bedsides tables were very dusty but we rectified this. It was easy to check in and the view to the cricket ground was brill. Parking was confusing and not explained at all - we got a parking disc from the One Stop down the road which allowed us to park outside the apartment for 2 hours at a time between 9-5, so effectively we could park from 3pm until 11am the following day. Location was great, we were so close to the North Bay beach (dog friendly) and Peasholme park which our pup loved walking around. The only downsides were the wifi- nothing would load when connected to it- and the lack of garden for the pup to go to the toilet in. A lovely stay and would recommend to others. Thank you!

The flat was very stylish and did have a very lovely view of the cricket ground and these were the best aspects of the flat. The lack of parking is a real problem and necessitated getting up and moving the car at 9am, which was a real hassle. The nearest parking was all 'disc parking,' which was incomprehensible to an out-of-towner, and wasn't explained to guests. The local area has very little in terms of restaurants and shops and is a rather run-down neighbourhood. The flat is on the second floor, which was a hassle for us as we had a lot of luggage and given the fact we couldn't park anywhere nearby in a mixed neighbourhood, required all items to be brought into the flat. If you are keen to watch cricket and enjoy a lovely interior, then this flat would suit you well.

Clean, kept in great condition, PERFECT location & great communication with the hosts! Couldn’t have asked for a better base for our first holiday as a family! Small, but perfect & cosy - just what we needed. A stones throw away from the beach (amazing views) & close to shops, bakery, pubs & a park! We were unsure about the ‘no parking issue’, but wasn’t a problem at all as there were car parks in a very short walking distance & you were able to park your car out the front at certain times which helped us to unload. Will definitely stay again!

We had a lovely stay in this beautifully decorated apartment. The bed was really comfortable and the view from the bedroom window over the cricket ground was amazing. There was everything you could possibly need including an iron and ironing board. The location was great, being only 5 minutes walk from Peasholm Park and 10 minutes from the beach. I would definitely recommend.

A comfortable, modern apartment in a recently converted four storey house. The apartment is well equipped with all mod-cons and is within easy reach of the North Bay beaches and other attractions. It is also a short walk to the town centre shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and theatre and there are there are also takeaways, pubs and restaurants close by.

For a seaside resort it wasn't quite the Seaview.....but we had another, just as excellent view looking out over Scarborough Cricket Club. The apartment was newly refurbished so was in spotless condition, comfortable and with everything we needed.....quiet and not too close to the Hubbub of the town centre but within a close enough walking distance to get to if required. I would definitely come back and stay here again.....a big thumbs up from Më 👍🏻👍🏻and defo worth the top marks

Great place to stay! Stayed here for the weekend with my fiancé and our little French bulldog. Location is perfect, very short walk to the beach. Apartment its self is lovely, extremely tidy & very modern. The bed was super comfortable. Has all the amenities you could possibly need. Although their isn't reserved parking, you can park bang outside on the street from 5pm to 9am, which is ideal if you are up and out early for the full day like we were. Super efficient hosts & great communication

Superb building, newly refurbished to a very high standard. We had the Umpire's Watch on the third floor, which has an amazing view onto the Scarborough Cricket pitch. A pity there wasn't a match on. The apartment consists of a lounge/kitchen, a bedroom, and separate toilet and shower rooms. The whole process worked so well. Great communication, self entry is via a keysafe and a tablet is available in the lounge to check in, and out. The apartment is newly refurbished and has every amenity you could wish for, WiFi is great, there is a TV in each room. The kitchen has fridge/freezer, washing machine, dish washer, cooker, microwave and coffee machine. The bedroom has a very comfortable bed from which you can also watch TV. All in all, very impressed. The location is on North Marine Drive, which is one street back from the north bay cliff top, so handy for all the north bay, Peasholme Park, the Open Air Theatre, and not too far from the castle, town centre and south bay. It was recommended that we park in a nearby car park, but we always found a space on the street where there is disc parking with a two hour limit between 9am and 5pm. So effectively we could park from 3pm until 11am the next day, which suited us fine as we were away then. In summary, it's nice to stay somewhere that exceeeds your expectations, and this did.
