Spacious apartment in a location that we like. Second visit to this apartment. Have stayed in 3 others in the Zetland.
The apartment was immaculately clean. Thank you to Brigi.
Our previous complaint about the entrance door being difficult to open has been dealt with.

No e-mail was sent with the lock box code despite 2 prior requests. Was told that the code would be advised 6 hours before check-in. It wasn't. Had to phone to get the code on the doorstep.
The master bedroom bed is still very uncomfortable. Have advised this before. Slept on top of the duvet using another duvet from the spare bed as a cover. Still uncomfortable. Will not stay here again. Pity, because all other aspects of the apartment are excellent.

Everything! Beautiful apartment, clean, well equipped. Perfectly placed for views, walks, facilities etc.

The only downside is there is just one set of keys which makes it difficult for a family doing different things. Not so much the inner door as one could arrive and knock, but another fob to get into the main building would be useful.

Beautiful flat right on the seafront and Saltburn town centre. Really clean and beautifully decorated and was amazing to stay in such an iconic building. Lots to do in the area and super convenient location (especially with the designated parking). The flat was really well equipped with everything needed for the stay. Would definitely stay again.

The apartment certainly had the wow factor when we first moved in.
The thing that spoilt it for us was that the windows were single glazed and made the bedrooms very cold and draughty and there was a lot of condensation. The double bed was not comfortable and the springs could be felt. The couple using this room did not get a decent nights sleep which rather ruined it for us. The apartment door was still very difficult to open.
If these issues could be put right then this apartment would be perfect. Such a great size and position - could be outstanding

Good apartment in a town that we like and have been to several times. We have stayed in several apartments in the Zetland and this one ranks very highly.

The door into the apartment is a serious problem. It is very tight in the frame and pulling on the rim latch knob on the inside of the door is not enough to open the door against the resistance. I was forced to half-turn the key in the mortise lock and pull on it in order to get more leverage to open the door. In doing so I broke the key ring which I replaced. The door definitely needs an internal knob to open it, especially as it is the means of escape in the case of fire. This is a serious matter and needs resolution. The master bedroom bed was hard and uncomfortable for us.

Beautiful apartment, very convenient for the town and beach. Spacious.
Nice to have some tea and coffee provided and plenty of dishwasher tablets, bin bags etc.

Host and stay company who run the lettings weren't great. We asked for the cot to be set up, this wasn't done. We arrived at 4 which is the earliest time and asked for someone to come and sort it out only to be told the housekeeping team finish at 4. In any case no bedding is provided for the cot either. The place was not well cleaned with crumbs visible under the sofa. And there is a lack of plates, cups etc - we were lucky not to be 6 people staying as there would not have been enough.

The apartment was exceptional and more than made up for the negative start.
It helped make it feel like a holiday.

No door handle. People struggled with opening the door from the inside.
Host and stay were unhelpful. Good at sending I’m sorry you had a problem messages after the problem was sorted but that’s about it. Trying to find lockbox which wasn’t labelled took a while on arrival. Tried calling for help but no answer. The number that they used to send guide seemed to stop working after 14:30. We found the lockbox after trying front and back and then checking all the lockboxes. I’m glad nobody came while we were trying their lockboxes. That could have been an awkward conversation.
The guide they kept sending links to didn’t work.
They messaged the NEXT DAY to see how we got on.
There was no toilet roll and not enough toiletries for the week as advertised.
The sea view could be had from the corner of the balcony. I wouldn’t call it a sea view more a cliff view which was nice though.
It says the wheel chair access to the upper floors but what it doesn’t say is there is no access into the building.

Shower in the en-suite wasn’t clean on arrival. About half the nozzles did squirt out water. The large shower head needs properly cleaning still after I clean most of the black gunk off and the nozzles all work now. See picture of gunk. Forgot to take a before and after sorry and you may have to zoom in. The rest of the apartment was better and bedding seemed clean.
Found rotten oranges in one of the cupboards with juice leaking out and choc wrapper under the couch.

The apartment was fantastic. The grandeur of the apartment, the location and view and the modern updates made the stay very enjoyable. Was hard to fault. We have nothing so old and with so much history yet so well maintained in Australia.
The team managing the property were very helpful and were prompt in rectifying any issues.
The online guide was also really well done and not something I've seen before. It helped us being new to the location.

Nothing at all.
Front door needs a handle on the inside as is quite hard to open and close and internet details need to be revised on the guide and the print out in the apartment, but would be easily resolved.

Second time staying here and I loved it just as much. Very happy with how clean and tidy it is. Beautifully decorated and always grateful for the lift when taking a heavy bag upstairs! Within walking distance of beach, cafes and restaurants. I will definitely be back again! Thanks so much!

Gorgeous apartment in a fabulous location overlooking the seafront. Decor was amazing and every little detail had been considered. Really comfy beds we both slept so well. No noise disturbance despite being in such a central location. Highly recommended!

A beautiful apartment in an interesting historic building. Wonderful spacious rooms with large windows and high ceilings. We loved the architectural details and the location and especially we loved the balcony! The decoration is tasteful and beautifully done and the rooms are elegant, restful and full of natural daylight. We would certainly come again.

A great location for exploring this charming little town, you can step outside and have your choice of cafés, plus it's very near the beach. The apartment was stylishly decorated and well equipped, and even bigger than it seems on the listing. Handy to have private parking and a lift to get the luggage up to the first floor. We had a minor problem on arrival and the listings company was very responsive even though it was after office hours.

A beautiful, clean and spacious accommodation opposite the beach and 3 mins to local amenities that included coffee shops, sainsburys, and good restaurants.

I’d strongly recommend this place staying here for a stressless experience.

The interior decoration was outstanding and the balcony views over countryside were excellent, sea views only just from a corner of the balcony! . We visited on a very sunny week. Everything was clean and tidy. The building itself was an excellent example of sensitive restoration and preservation of Victorian and Edwardian features. It position in relation to access to Saltburn facilities, walks and beach is perfect - as long as you can cope with the cliff ascent and descent. Parking on site and free parking in the roads around the building.

We had an elderly person with us and were not aware that there are at least 6 steps up to enter the building from any external door. There was an external chair lift but this could not be accessed by holiday makers. There is a small lift once inside the building. Seek clarification if any person needs to solely use a wheelchair to get around. The apartment is dressed by an interior designer in a stunning way but practicalities are overlooked - drawer and wardrobe space, limited work surfaces in the kitchen, no provision of dishcloths, tea towels, mop and bucket etc. The beds are 1 double, one small double and 1 single with a truckle bed below, if using both of these they only just fit in the bedroom. We expected the en- suite room to have a bigger bed.

lovely apartment well appointed, lovely furnishings very comfortable and extremely clean lots of little extras to make your stay comfortable, games books and basic cooking items

the apartment didnt have a sea view - a very pretty view over the Italian gardens and various attractions like the bandstand
the apartment whilst having a lift to all floors has 6 steps to the entrance hall where the lift is located - you need to be able to get up these steps before you can access the lift

This is one of the largest and most awesome apartments I have stayed in. As per most years on my birthday in March I like to get away for a couple of nights. This time brought my “elderly” parents. There is a lift to get up and down to the first floor. Main bedroom has an on suite. All the beds were comfortable and we all had a great nights sleep (which is unusual at least for my dad and me.) The apartment, while being large, is comfortable, warm, and very quiet. The views from the windows, never mind the balcony, are fabulous. While it was a bit windy, we still sat out when the sun shone, and enjoyed the bracing fresh air. Highly recommend this apartment, although maybe I should get next years booking in quick before you all jump on it. :-) Gx

We loved this apartment. It is spacious, beautifully decorated, well equipped and perfectly located in the centre of Saltburn, in the historic Zealand Hotel. This is as good as it gets, and we have no hesitation in recommending it.

The property definitely has a ‘wow factor’ beautifully furnished and very spacious, well equipped, comfortable beds, with good quality bed linen and towels. Although there is no sea view, it is well located just around the corner from some lovely little shops, bars and restaurants and within easy walking distance of the seafront. Allocated parking space is a bonus.

Lack of thermostats on radiators meant the heating was either all or nothing, which made the bedrooms very hot for sleeping. Lack of wardrobe space, if you were staying for a week or more you would struggle as only one single wardrobe the other two in main bedroom are locked.
Key safe is not marked with ‘M’ as stated in info, so had to try them all before finding the right one.
