Lovely place, really lovely decoration and had a great feel to it. Excellent amenities. Easy to find and easy to get around Whitby on foot. Unlikely to get a parking space right outside but we always managed to find somewhere within a few minutes walk in the permit zone.

The Salt Nook is a well appointed apartment in the West Cliff area of Whitby, with the photos giving a true impression. You take steps down from the street to the front door to enter the lounge and kitchen, with the bedroom and bathroom up stairs. The shower is tucked away at the end of the kitchen. Parking permits are provided which cover the surrounding streets, which can get busy. The hosts were very responsive to any queries which is helpful. Would stay again should we be inn Whitby.

The Salt Nook is a great place to stay when exploring Whitby and surrounding areas. The place itself was also very comfortable, and made for an enjoyable stay. We did, however, receive a few messages before our stay trying to upsell, eg additional nights and early check in. Overall, we would recommend it for anyone looking to stay in Whitby.

The Salt Nook was a lovely place to stay in Whitby. It was walkable to the centre of town (around a 10 minute walk) and had lovely views out of the windows. The home itself was lovely with amazing furnishings making you feel just at home. However, if you are stopping here for longer than a 2 day period, I would recommend bringing some spare towels to use as there are only 2 towels provided with no spares found. The home was very lovely and had a great cottage vibe/feeling. Would recommend in the future to anyone wanting a nice weekend in Whitby.

Great place in a great location. Looks just like the photos. Couple of key items missing which were quite key to our stay such as a tea towel and oven gloves. There was also no hand soap in either bathroom? Couple of quite large cobwebs dangling from the bedroom ceiling. Would happily stay again. Good communication from host, easy to find and easy to get in.

There was supposed to be a parking permit in the premises. There was not. We phoned the number provided and spoke to a young lady who advised us to look in the welcome pack. For this property there is no welcome pack. After a long delay I ended the call. Eventually I got a call back advising me to park free of charge a quarter of a mile from the property. I was advised a parking permit would be delivered the following day. Nothing arrived. Host and Stay seemed more concerned about how they could charge me more for early checkin late checkout etc. Never once did their comms acknowledge the problem we had with the parking permit. Also the TV was muted to the point where we could not hear it. I tried to change in Settings but that did not work. Will not be staying in a Host and Stay property again.

The Salt Nook was a fabulous find and a great place to stay in Whitby. The apartment was the perfect size for us and an incredible location from which to explore the town. It’s a five minute walk into the lanes of the West Cliff and only ten to the harbour. It was really clean and comfortable and we felt really at home.

Lovely little nook seven minutes downhill walk into Whitby town. Parking is limited so if you get a space ,try and leave the car there as much as you can. Accomodation was lovely , clean and well set out. In a small property it was nice to have 2 bathrooms, one with bath( upstairs) , and one with shower( downstairs). Lovely little table in the bedroom bay window , to sit and watch world go by. If you want a nice, quiet and cosy place then I would recommend this property. Thank you

We stayed at the apartment for 7 days . When we arrived at the apartment we found that the lower floor had an unpleasant odour which stayed in the accommodation all week We we’re not sure if it came from the bins at the rear of the property or the shower room in the kitchen . We were supplied one large thin towel each for a 7 day stay which could have been increased . The biggest issue with the area is parking which is a daily challenge The accommodation was clean,tidy and was supplied with tea ,coffee etc The position of the apartment is an excellent Place to visit Whitby

A lovely spot in the heart of Whitby close to local shops, restaurants and bars. The property is only a stones throw from the pavilion with great sea views and walks. The apartment is stylish and very cosy! We really enjoyed our stay. I would say to bring your own salt/pepper and oils as there was no oil available and no salt or pepper left - a tiny issue, overall a fab stay.

The outside area (front door) was a bit dirty due to waste which presumably blew in from the surrounding street which isn’t really the hosts fault, but there were a few large cobwebs in the main room too off the main light which was no issue for me but maybe for other people. Other than that, the place and facilities were excellent and I’d definitely stay there again

The flat was lovely, clean and in a great location, you couldn’t fault that. We would liked to have had basic ingredients such as Salt and Pepper (empty) 1 x dishwasher tablet for a 4 x day stay seemed a bit mean. We have never been anywhere else and that happen. The most annoying issue is not having been refunded the money I had to use for Parking as Permit had not been left for us, a very easy fix, just get one dropped off, I would suggest to the host that maybe a spare is left in a safe place on site for this sort of incident. I was promised a refund, and here we are 10 days later, still no refund, so that is why sadly my review is somewhat mixed. Do not let this out you off though. The place itself is in a great area, and easy to walk on the beach in the evening, it was very relaxing and well decorated. I would stay again despite these niggles as it really was lovely. Normally I wouldn’t some of these things in a review but maybe a few improvements will be made aft

We had a lovely time at the Salt Nook. It’s walking distance to all key attractions. Our only niggle was that there wasn’t any car parking spaces left in the zone so we had to pay for two nights overnight parking. It would’ve been fine but we had a rather heavy travel cot with us so had to walk to and from the car park on check in and check out. Just something to bear in mind if you’re banking on there being a space outside the apartment.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Salt Nook. Amazing apartment, clean and very modern. In walking distance of everything you need. The only little downside of the stay was the bed, this was uncomfortable as the mattress was very springy and in need of replacement. Apart from this it was a 10/10 stay! Would highly recommend ☺️

Lovely flat in a great location. Parking very handy and always able to get a space right outside. Unfortunately the rug was covered in long black pet hair (we did travel with a dog but ours doesn’t shed) which set off both of our allergies. The bed was very hard and not very comfortable.

Go to Whitby every year in December and always get apartments. This was by far one of the best if not the best when you factor in value for money. The on street parking was extremely easy with the provided scratch card so we didn’t have to pay. I honestly cannot fault the place. I will definitely be going back next year!

Salt Nook in Whitby is a lovely apartment in a fantastic location—clean, nicely decorated and perfect for exploring the area. We did experience an issue with the heating and hot water not working initially, but this was promptly resolved with an engineer’s visit. However, it did take some time for the apartment to fully warm up, which was noticeable given the cold weather. Despite this minor setback, we had a great stay and would happily return!

While the listing says there is street parking available be advised it can be very difficult to find on weekends. Had a lovely stay at the salt nook in Whitby, we didn’t arrive until late on the Friday afternoon but we managed to get parked up pretty easily and close by. Location is really good, just a couple of minutes walk to the west cliff beach front and 10 mins to the town. The place itself is lovely, we did have a 4 month old baby with us so the steps down to the entrance were a little tricky with a pushchair but we managed- used the back door exit during our stay which was fine but could do with a little tidying. The interior itself was just what we needed, lovely bedroom and upstairs bathroom with a gorgeous bath. Would say the bed isn’t the comfiest we’ve slept in! Only issue we had was with the cleanliness of the shower in the downstairs toilet, could just do with a little extra TLC. We also didn’t have a hand towel or anything to stand on when getting out of the shower and there was no bin (necessary for girls). Overall we had a lovely time and would definitely stay again :)

Only negative I would say was lack of cooking essentials such as salt and pepper, oil etc. these things aren’t essential but do make self catering that much easier. But I would definitely use this company again.

Dirty, rubbish left in bathroom bin, hair and dirt and mould in shower, hair on floors, food on kitchen surfaces. Hidden fees for cleaning but apartment was disgustingly dirty, ridiculous damage protection charge. All fees should be included in the already expensive price. Unhelpful communication, basically a charlatan management company would never ever use again even if you paid me.

We had a lovely stay at the Salt Nook on our weekend away in Whitby. Location was fab, right near the whalebone arch and everywhere we wanted to go was well within walking distance. Absolutely no issues with parking, we managed to get a space right outside but might be harder in summer. The house was beautifully decorated, no unnecessary clutter and we felt right at home. Heating worked really well and very quickly! Sofa was very comfy but the bed could’ve been a bit better! Kitchen had everything we needed but S&P grinders hadn’t been refilled, no oil in cupboards and only a couple of tea bags and no sugar. Not necessary in self catered accom but it’s always much appreciated when they’re there! Had a fab time overall, thank you!

we have stayed at the place for 5 nights. the living room was beautifully decorated. The fireplace made us feel cosy and at home. The bedroom had a great size bed and had what it needed without any unnecessary cluter. Great idea of having 2 bathrooms. You can take a relaxing bath or jump in the shower, whatever you prefer. Quiet neighbourhood and the surrounding scenery were breathtaking. Great place to stay.

Parking was a bit of a nightmare as it was a really hot weekend so very little parking near the property (it’s permit parking but was full). But main issue was that the link in the guest guidebook took us to the abbey! When I called the ‘host’, confused, they pulled up the same map and started explaining to me where it was (and where I was) but the property was actually 10 minutes across town. External agency and has never seen the property. Use g. maps not the guidebook if you book. Actual house was beautiful, tastefully decorated and convenient layout, lovely big bath, well equipped etc. highly recommend. There are very few convenience shops in Whitby so take what you need for you’re stay.

Parking at this flat was an absolute nightmare. Host provides a permit which is completely useless unless there are spaces, we couldn’t park within 10 minutes till day 3 of 4. This was my first with a business rather than a person and it fell a bit short imo. Used to having a welcome pack but not here. Two teabags, 2 uht milk, no sugar, coffee solid in jar and advertised coffee m/c with no pods which is less than I’m used to with air bnb. There were no cleaning products either to help keep the place clean, which is poor imo. The bedroom is at street level with no nets so had to have curtains closed during our stay for privacy. There are no oven gloves, you have to use the 1 tea towel which, if damp, will burn your hands. The kettle has a small leak when pouring which is frustrating. Whilst we enjoyed our stay and the location was great, I felt the issues above just took the shine off our break. I won’t book with a business again.

I came for a relaxing trip with my partner and loved every second. The Salt Nook is beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. The location is away from the busy tourist hotspots with all the attractions of Whitby within walking distance. Our host also included a helpful guidebook with everything we needed to know about the property and some great places to visit nearby. We had an amazing time on our trip and will definitely be booking with host & stay again.

The Salt Nook is as beautiful as it is on the photos, the interior is so beautifully decorated and well thought out. You can see the Abbey from the bedroom window and the neighbourhood felt safe and quiet. The host was very responsive to any questions or queries we had. There were a few small maintenance issues that we wrote to the host about and they said they would fix them on our check out day and were happy we had reported them. This was the shower head being too heavy, the bathroom door downstairs jamming as a little screw was hanging down and no running water in the bathroom sink upstairs. Other than these few issues the place was lovely, a short walk to the beach and we were blessed with beautiful weather :)

We really enjoyed our stay at The Salt Nook. The location is brilliant for seeing the sites and it's in a lovely safe area near cafes. The accommodation is beautiful and feels luxurious. The kitchen had everything we needed and it was great to watch a film with the fire ob during heavy rain! We had lots of space and could definitely stay there for a week or more easily. Such a lovely place, exactly as it looks on the pictures. Two issues. One was that the shower head didn’t stay upright at all so just had to hold it which wasn’t ideal, especially when I’ve seen a review from four months ago with the same issue. Second issue was that the wrong parking permit was issued which resulted in us getting a parking ticket. Hosts just dismissed it saying they weren’t liable, even though they issued a ticket for two days instead of three which we didn’t realise. We just trusted the statement that parking was free and permitted until 10am of departure, this wasn’t the case. It could have really easily been rectified but the hosts didn’t take any responsibility for it and blamed us. Such a shame as it’s such a lovely place, but falsely advertised.

Great time to go very quiet for Whitby. Good location . I can imagine parking more difficult in high season. Accommodation was lovely , well decorated and very clean. Bedroom move . However not very private as breakfast room of b&b opposite looked straight at us so had to keep curtains closed to get ready in the mornings . Otherwise, really nice , lots of stairs !

The shower head was the only disappointment as it would not stay upright making showering awkward. The coffee machine had old coffee pods and coffee residue, left inside it. My partner was unhappy that there were only two fresh coffee pods available.

Really enjoyable stay at the Salt Nook. Lovely bedroom with big windows and a nice table to have breakfast at whilst watching the birds fly around outside. Permit for parking provided which is useful but with the number of other holiday properties nearby it was difficult to get a space near by. Easier to park earlier on in the day when other people are leaving though.

The Salt Nook was just as described, beautiful decor and close to all amenities and the town. The only downfall was that we were missing one mug and the tea towel had mould on it and was stained, and the shower head was tricky to position and wouldn’t stay upright, which is why I gave it 4 stars not 5. Other than that we had a wonderful stay and would def recommend.

Lovely little AirBnb that is close to the beach, and a short walk to the town centre. Surround by lots of beautiful restaurants, friendly people and things to do. Street noise can often be heard through the bedroom however it was rare this happened but could be an issue if you’re a light sleeper. I wouldn’t recommend working out of this Airbnb as the wifi is not strong enough. Thanks for hosting!

Stayed here for 5 nights and cannot fault it at all. The Salt Nook is super clean, modern and cosy. Perfect location - will definitely be coming back!

We loved our mini break in Whitby and the Salt Nook was super cosy in the January weather! The accommodation was beautifully furnished and extremely clean and we felt very comfortable there.

Very nice bedroom and great size for two people staying. Two bathrooms is a bonus too for the price. Good stay and easy to get into the property with a safe for the key.

Definitely worth a stay at the Salt Nook, the interior design was fantastic, light and airy, well equiped. A stones throw away from the beach and town. The stay was perfect from beginning to end.

Amazing flat, really lovely and cosy. Also a great location. We walked into the town and across the bridge for food both nights in under 10 minutes. Honestly can’t fault anything to do with the property. Highly recommend.

The Salt Nook is an absolute delight of a place. Perfectly positioned 2 mins from the sea front & Cleveland Way. So clean and everything you need for a long or short stay. Views of the Abbey from the window were fabulous when lit up during our stay.

Great stay at The Salt Nook. Very clean and great location, only a 5 mins walk down to the centre of Whitby and just around the corner to great sea views and the jaw bones. Plenty of parking available nearby too, thanks to the zone parking scratchcard provided at the property. We was a little concerned by a couple of reviews about the noise from the apartment above. We heard nothing during our stay. We will return, thank you.

Super location and we felt so comfortable during our stay! Plenty of room and it's beautifully decorated. There's alot of baskets around the place which are really handy for keeping some of your things organised without putting them out of sight. We walked everywhere in town because the flat was so well situated. The deep bath was very much appreciated after a 5 hour walk to Robin Hood Bay and back!

Lovely furniture and wonderful deep bathtub. Very loud upstairs neighbour keeping us up past midnight and up at 7am. So if you’re not an early riser I wouldn’t recommend - if we were told this previous to booking we wouldn’t have chosen The Salt Nook. Great location with lovely views of Whitby.

Lovely stay at The Salt Nook. Everything was very clean and as described. The location is great and the parking card is useful though it can be hard to find a space when it's very busy. Online guide to the property was very useful and had some good recommendations for places to eat around the area.

Amazing place and designed so beautifully! The location is perfect and everything is in walking distance. They have scratch cards to park if you are driving, and we were able to park just in front of the property. I loved that you can see the Abbey from the bedroom and when you walk out the door! perfect in every way!

Fab. Extremely clean and decorated in a modern but cosy style - everything there you'd need for a break away! Location is great - 5 minutes from the beach and 15 minutes from the town & harbour.. We would definitely book again if we're ever in Whitby again! Thanks

Fantastic apartment we will definitely be staying again. Only downside is how easily you hear the noise from the apartment upstairs. We found it quite noisy especially when they went up and down their stairs. Otherwise; an amazing place to stay
