Stayed two nights at Puffins Nest. Stunning location, fabulous sea views, and within walking distance of all amenities.
The property was clean and tidy with a spotless bathroom, and comfy bed. However, just a few minor details let it down. There's no mirror in the bathroom, and no blind at the window, which even with opaque glass, doesnt make it very private when the light is super bright and you can't turn it off. A full length mirror and a plug socket near the small mirrors that were installed, would have been useful.
The fire escape style staircase to enter the property does bear a mention, and something to be aware of if you're taking a large suitcase, or have mobility issues.
Overall though, we had a fabulous stay, and would definitely book again.

Size of accommodation.

Parking was not great at rear of property.

Location was outstanding
Parking with 2 cars was a problem especially with scaffolding erected next door on the driveway. The views were slightly spoiled as the windows were thick with sea salt. A way to clean them would have been appreciated

The location was amazing, very comfortable beds. Everything available and working.
The walls are a bit scuffed and the electric sockets are very inconvenient as can’t fit a phone charger plug with wire hanging below which meant we damaged 2 charger wires and could only charge phones in the kitchen area.

Beds comfortable. Coffee, tea and milk sachets provided. View very good. Location very good. Water nice and hot. Additional oil heaters provided if cold. Nice and quiet (except for builders next door arriving at 8.00 to cut and lay patio stones!|) Fridge nice and clean.
Very dirty mat on entering-just throw it away and get a new one for a fiver!-first impressions! Flat smelt-dogs? No scented/odour air fresheners- opened windows for fresh air and windows were extremely dirty and mouldy. Couldnt have windows open therefore. Very few TV stations-it's autumn /winter, would like to watch TV in the evenings!! No BBC.channels. One teatowel provided for 3/ 4 days which had mould stains on it-not pleasant. only one hand towel between 3 adults but no washing machine. There were enough bath sheets however.Metal fire escape stairs to door. Not good for infirm!! Should make this clear.3rd bedroom had stained sheet we had to reverse and put top to bottom, revealing dirty stained mattress. No blind in bedroom on windowsill-despite previous occupier stating this. Telescope broken-just for show. No full or 3/4 length mirror. Could do with small bin in bathroom. No blinds or net in bathroom despite bath being right next to window and no control over automatic bathroom light. Took couple of days to work out central heating- could do with a folder with instructions and places to visit etc. Broken blind openers-safety concern for those with children. Very small
second and third bedrooms -really only for children or one adult- not a couple.

Location and space
No blinds on 2 of bedrooms so woke really early meaning exhausted not rested. Plug in bathroom broken so couldn’t have a bath - one of reasons booked. No mirror in bathroom so dad couldn’t shave. No accessible plug sockets in 2 bedroom so couldn’t charge phone or get ready in there. 1 of bedroom doors didn’t shut, the others were really stiff.

Fabulous location
Saw dolphins and view of castle
Easy access to town centre
Very quiet area
Stayed at the Puffins Nest for 2 nights with FamilyParking was tight with a large Jeep and difficult to navigate around a blind corner onto gravel. There was no garden to enjoy as described in the description Entry was easy up the metal stairs. Apartment was very spacious with a good size kitchen which had all the equipment we required for our stay. Only issue I would say is the hot water is extremely hot and could cause burns if not careful, the crockery needs to be updated as a lot of this was chipped. And the kitchen could do with a deep clean as there were areas that I felt was overlooked. Living room was very large, however there is a lack of comfy chairs / sofas, only 1 small 3 seater and a small arm chair, this would not be satisfactory for 6 people .. the table was beautiful but this was imposing in the room and felt it unnecessary and could be replaced with chairs or sofas to heighten comfort of stay. TV was limiting with just free view to watch and could not mirror from iPad as it’s not a smart TV..Netflix would have been good. Main master bedroom was large and spacious Other bedrooms, both rooms did not have blinds fitted, these were broken and could not be rehung. Despite previous reviews mentioning the broken blinds and emailing before I left with my concerns regarding the missing broken items these still had not been fixed which was very disappointing, hence the 3 star review given so had to hang a throw up at window. One of the beds would not accommodate 2 grown adults as this seemed to be a very large single, the other bed was a small double. Bathroom did not have a mirror nor did it have a blind fitted either. Plug in bath did not work so couldn’t have a bath. Only 1 toilet roll for 4 adults was supplied so had to purchase our own. when I messaged him and he assured me that all these items had been addressed and the broken items repaired or replaced none of these things had happened

The location is perfect. Apartment is very modern and beds are so comfy. The host kept in touch regularly with local information to do and see. Plenty of parking space for two big cars.
We weren’t aware of the stairs at the back of the property wasn’t good for my elderly mother but we managed over time.

We really enjoyed our stay here ! The location is fantastic! The view is astonishing! We. Seen dolphins from the window on our first night, I would highly recommend !
I asked about the telescope and was told it was fully working and we could enjoy the views but we got there and it has been blocked and screwed in so you can’t look through, we did have to fit the blinds ourselves in one of the bedrooms as we arrived and there was nothing there. Plug sockets in the bedrooms are not easily accessible.

Excellent location with a beautiful view, the interior was well presented with up to date colours and quality furniture. The beds were extremely comfortable. A spacious apartment, and well equipped kitchen with the complimentary coffee, tea and milks being a bonus. Private parking is a big plus too.
It was very stormy outside and 8 degrees but sadly we couldn’t get the central heating to work, we tried all the options and the radiators remained cold, so we had to use the two storage heaters provided, but sadly the plug point in the back bedroom didn’t allow the heater to be plugged in as it was at the back of the bed, so that was a cold room.
Also a lack of mirrors, the bathroom would definitely benefit from one, and I’d rather not have to climb and stand on the bed to reach the mirror in the master bedroom. Also shame the telescope doesn’t work and it’s just a prop.

The location was amazing, with fantastic views of the coast and Bamburgh Castle. Beds and chairs were all very comfortable.
Unfortunately the heating didn't work, so we had to use the two electric heaters. And a very small note that we used up the two rolls of toilet paper provided, so it would have been good to have some spare in the cupboard.

We've been to Seahouses before so we were keen to stay by the beach. The Puffin's Nest was right on the seafront, with views looking out onto the beach and sea. It was really peaceful but also very close to walk into Seahouses itself - about 10 minutes I think. The flat was lovely and was easy to find. The parking was a little tricky, but I think that's probably due to my driving :-) Overall, it's a great place and we'd love to stay there again.

The location is stunning, a 10 minute walk to the centre of Seahouses and the beach is just over the road with a 5-10 min walk down to it. The apartment itself was nice but it needs work. The entry is via a set of steep metal stairs which my mother struggled with and we weren’t told of this in advance. There were scuffs and marks on a lot of the walls, the vacuum cleaner had exposed wires, one of the shower taps was loose and started to hang off, I found squished dead bugs on the main bedroom blind, the doors all scrape shut so we disturbed each other when getting up. I found cobwebs and dust behind a set of drawers in my room and on the bedside lamp, this didn’t help my allergies. We both had issues with the beds, we ended up sliding out of them, think this was due to the mattress and the sheets fabric. Raised all these issues with host and was promised someone would come and rectify but they didn’t. All in all, it’s a nice spot but it’s currently not worth the price being charged

Fab location, amazing views, spacious master bedroom
Had we been at full occupancy there would not have been enough comfortable seating for everyone (small 3 seater couch and 1 easy chair), lacking mirror in the bathroom previously mentioned in other reviews, stairs a bit steep and could be problematic for people with mobility issues - reasonable gap between metal stairs and wall of the building, no garden as such just very small area for car parking.

The view from The puffins nest is fabulous! Sunrise across the sea, with The Farne Isles just off-shore takes some beating. Comfy beds. Practical bathroom.
Kitchen fine, but rather basic - few chipped/cracked plates. Freezer box so iced up, it couldn't be closed properly; we defrosted it.

The magnificent views and being so close to the beach. The spacious sitting room and well equipped kitchen.
Some of the equipment and furniture was not functioning well. Can opener, bathroom had no mirror, television had limited channels and there was no internet. The dining chairs seemed old and cumbersome. I had a couple stay on 2 nights. The husband had a dining chair collapse under him one night as it’s metal frame buckled. He fell backwards. He is 75 years old so this was distressing for him and his partner. I am now being told I have to pay for the chair!

This property has been obviously set up for rentals w/o anybody trying to live there. For example, the light in the bathroom is super bright and motion activated -- imagine going there at night... and the sensor doesn't "see" the shower, so the light goes off just as you've shampooed your head. The kitchen isn't equipped for cooking (no functional knives, only one pan and a huge one at that, some drawers cannot open because they run into handles of others, no dish soap provided and exactly one kitchen towel). Also, there seems to be no ongoing maintenance: the mirror in the bathroom is gone (there are remnants of the fixture), the telescope is broken, one of the beds was "adjusted" to have uneven leg heights -- we couldn't fix it w/o tools. The fridge is tiny and the freezer shelf is overgrown with ice. The "dryer" for laundry is probably the heated towel rack in the bathroom, yes, you can dry your bath-suit on it but that's about it. There is no washer.
The instructions for finding the place are technically accurate but the driveway is not distinguishable from others and hard to recognize from the road. As we were driving around looking for it, some frustrated local said that it's "always those people looking for Puffins Nest!" so I'm sure we weren't the first ones to get lost. A bigger sign would help.
Having said that, the view from the living room is great and both the beach and the town is a short walk away with all the vacation pleasures you might expect there.

We stayed in a lovely house in seahouses called Puffins nest. We booked as a short break to get away from it all. The account matched the photos, it was lovely and the view was amazing. We could see the sea from bed and bamburgh castle from the window. We got to see lovely sunset over the castle. My daughter loved the house. The hosts were very helpful, friendly and responsive to any question. Check in and out was smooth and we were given lots of helpful information about the area and to find the property. Such a lovely place would be happy to return again.

The view was spectacular! The location was ideal for walking into Seahouses. The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom was really clean and seemed new.
The metal access stairs to the property. It wasn’t mentioned in the initial information and we had two dogs and a disabled child. The mismatched cutlery, mugs and glasses in the kitchen, they could do with being updated. The Hoover didn’t work on carpet and with two dogs we tried to hoover and it didn’t pick up at all.

We were blown away by the accomodations location. The view across the sea and beach was spectacular.
The accomodation is clean and tidy.
The check in process is simple and clear.
The locality to amenities such as restaurants and shops is ideal for us, a brisk 8 minute walk.
Access to the beach is only a 3 minute walk.
The water pressure, temperature and shower were great. The premises has a great heating system that meant we didn't need to be constantly turning heating up and down to be comfortable during our stay.
The dining area is carpeted, though not a detrimental factor, those with young children should bear this in mind. There is an easy to clean floor in the hallway and kitchen though.
The access steps are quite steep with short rising and going, again not a detrimental factor, but something to be aware of.
We are looking forward to hopefully having a return visit in the near future to see some more of the beautiful surroundings.

Location description was not great, took us too long to find access, no sign post, also metal stairs to access property were not mentioned, allows pets but stairs not safe, needs to be mentioned just in case anyone struggles with stairs
Couldn’t get hold of anyone, women who eventually answered did not speak very good English, access to property not described easily, google location given sends you round the other side. Pillows not comfy. Bed in room opposite main bedroom on a slant. No intrusive tons on how to use anything, fire in main room wouldn’t work.

The apartment is lovely and a great stay. However, the location that every map app takes you to is not the right one it's about 5 buildings over. Host and Stay were essentially useless when I called as they have never been to the property. They also didn't send me a verification email so I was delayed when checking in. It took 2 hours for me to check in from when I arrived due to the poor service by host and Stay and the wrong location.
if they provide a sign like all the other rentals do and update the location error then it would be a great place to rent for everyone.
All in all we had a great time but a 2 hour wait to check in due to the company's error without so much as an email to apologise isn't okay in today's world of business.

Lovely location, lovely flat with lovey decor, only thing that was a let down as not enough hot water. I messaged the owner to be informed on first night hot water was on demand and then when we ran out of water on second night after one bath and after few messages back and forth we were informed, water was provided by tank and had to be filled up once hot used.
Thanks

The views were amazing. The location great - straight across the road from the sea and a 5 minute walk to the centre of Seahouses. The bed and bedding in the main bedroom was very comfy. The decor was lovely, most furniture seemed very new.
It was not clear the apartment was accessed at the back of the house up an outdoor metal staircase. We had our dog and it wasn’t good for taking out in the dark and wouldn’t be easy for elderly or very young guests. There was no signage to indicate which door was Puffins Nest and as we weren’t aware it was up the metal stairs at the back we struggled to find it. The neighbour helped us but it doesn’t seem fair to inconvenience them every time a guest arrives for the sake of a couple of signs. Accessing the drive was pretty narrow and the parking at the back just about big enough for our car but tricky to manoeuvre out. It also says there is a garden with this property but the only garden belonged to the other apartment so we couldn’t use it for the dog or for us to be/sit outside so no outside space to use, except parking. The glasses and mug selection was very random! There was a Krups coffee machine but no pods left so pointless. The lino in the hall was loose in places so had to be careful. We couldn’t get the central heating to work and as we were only there 3 nights didn’t want to get anyone in to sort it. There were other heaters which did warm the room, just took a while. The blind in the main bedroom had a broken winder so my husband had to manually wind it up and down which was a bit annoying. The views were amazing but it was a shame the outside of the windows were smeary/cloudy so wasn’t clear to see properly. Despite all of this it was a lovely place to stay and I would consider going back.

It’s a lovely property and we’re enjoying our time here. The flat is decorated to a high standard with a lovely sea view!
However the pillows are all very hard and deep so we both found it difficult to sleep comfortably. In the end we opted for sleeping on a makeshift pillow out of a towel as that was more comfortable.
The blind in the main bedroom is broken at the pulley mechanism so we had to rolll this up by hand.
The house is advertised for 6 people, with space for 6 in the beds and at the table. However, there are only 4 sets of cutlery. Although there are more than 6 mugs, more than half of these are obviously old/chipped, do not have proper handles and look like they are someone’s cast offs. Not what we’d expect in a property in this price range.
Finally, when people come to stay at a place like this, with a kitchen and dining table, they will most likely be cooking. As such, it would be very helpful to provide basics in the cupboard, such as salt, pepper, spices and oil. It’s lovely that there are teas provided, but the lack of these staples is really inconvenient for cooking.
The property is wonderfully decorated and enjoyable to be in, however it feels as if there’s been an oversight on some of these things which really affect the enjoyment of the stay once you get past the initial impression.

I was told the key combination over the phone and it worked first time. The door itself looked very tired and some repair work is needed around the frame. Other than that, it was simple to get in. The views are spectacular and the beach access was brilliant. The shower pressure was great.
The property is very poorly sign posted and there is a garage under repair so I was worried about my tires. There should also be a warning because the drive is very narrow and the parking is reserved at the front of the property.
There's no DVD player so we felt a lack of evening entertainment which left us with whatever was on television. The plug sockets are very low and there are switches that don't appear to do anything.
There were a few unfinished elements in the wardrobes, doors quite stiff and the carpets/lino in need of repair but the overall finish was nice.

We had a little difficulty finding the door to the flat, it is round the back of the building up a flight of stairs, the owner of the property below mentioned guests often find it difficult to find the entrance. Unfortunately, the listing wasn’t accurate for the flat, some of the items listed were not available for us to use. However, we still had an enjoyable holiday and the location is great for exploring Northumberland.

Beautiful location. Perfect for a family break. We had one small child and brought our dog along also. It was a perfect beach holiday with lots of other attractions near by.
The location cannot be beaten. Amazing views. Close to the beach and also in easy walking distance to the village.
The inside is perfect for everything you need. Comfortable and cosy.

Absolutely stunning views from property and perfect distance to access beach and the town within minutes for both. The property was a great size, modern and had everything needed.
House was accessed at back up quite a large set of stairs ,may not be suitable for all .

the location and views make this property special
The builders fixing the garage had left wood and debris where car should be parked. It wasn't clear to us the apartment was up stairs at the back, there is no sign, puffins nest. Your neighbour is frustrated with people parking at the front, some signs and having a clear area at the back would help. The TV didn't have BBC and freeview was so patchy across internet not worth watching, there is no dishwasher or wash machine. The cups and cutlery cheap, in fact the cheapness of the furntiture and fittings detract from the location, which is excellent. Beds were hard and pillows to.

Fabulous location. Wonderful views. Attractive modern furnishings. Good bathroom & shower
Poor communications & information.
Only just enough cutlery for 4 people.
Strange assortment of glasses & mugs
