It's such a characterful apartment, ground floor to the main Chapel. The renovation is beautiful and the facilities are excellent. It's literally a 5 minute walk to the middle of Whitby. Free parking is easy, parking opposite the building.
The beds are so very comfortable and the bathrooms are luxurious.

We also cooked a meal there. The kitchen is a joy to cook in as it's all open plan, perfect for friends or families.
The bedrooms are spacious with lots of light.
We would have stayed longer if it hadn't been for my partner needing to work the next day.

Flat had everything we needed for a family of 6 adults. Very welcoming and lovely to have a welcome pack with wine, biscuits, tea , coffee and milk. The decor and pictures were admired by us all. Tastefully done.

The only downside was the 10am check out,

Beautiful,Spotlessly clean , comfortable, everything you could ever need plus a lovely start pack tea coffee sugar biscuits milk and a bottle of wine huge bonus definitely worth a visit x weather wasn’t great so having a comfortable place to stay was a big bonus .

No lights on the street when we walked home no fault of the property. Just used the torch on our phones .

A beautiful apartment with lots of character. Immaculate throughout. Comfy beds. The milk and tea/coffee and biscuits and especially the wine was a very thoughtful touch. Would definately recommend the Old Chapel and look forward to returning here.

Property was about a 5 minute stroll to Whitby Train Station and Bus Terminal. The apartment was truly accessable on one level. Rooms lovely and spacious, bathrooms new and powerful showers. Lots of extras like tea towels, hand soap, basic kitchen bits and a lovely hamper for our arrival. The sofa was really comfy and we had a great stay. Thanks!

The location and use of a dedicated parking space was very convenient. The decor, beds and bedding were beautiful and very comfortable. Spacious and easy to use appliances, although we only occupied 2 bedrooms, so might be tight when fully occupied. Everywhere very clean.

Lack of toiletries provided - what there was was very low budget - not at all in keeping with the property. If I had known I'd have bought my own. Showers were large and powerful, so powerful it's easy to splash, though there is a warning sign. Lack of ventilation meant bathroom could get a bit of a musty smell - not a problem for us but the apartment was not fully occupied. Plenty of large soft towels available (1 per person) but only 2 hand towels - one in each shower room.

I have nothing negative to say about this property! It was easy to find and access and the free car parking space is only a few metres from the gate. The apartment was spotlessly clean and beautiful inside and there was plenty of room for us three adults and two children. The big green sofa and beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. The property was only a six minute walk to Whitby train station therefore it was perfectly situated. We would definitely return to this accommodation.

The accommodation was spacious clean well maintained and central to Whitby.

On arrival at 4.00pm after spending a lovely day in Whitby we couldn't gain access to our accommodation.
This was extremely stressful having 3 teenagers who just wanted to relax and 2 parents trying to gain access.
We tried all ways to contact booking. Com or the hosts with no luck.
Eventually after a long while we were contacted with the access code and our stay began to the relief of us parents.
It didn't ruin our stay but it wasn't a great start.

The Old Chapel is a wonderful property set in a lovely if busy town. The property was very well kept, very clean and with all the amenities that you need. We chose specifically because everything was on one floor which proved invaluable. The en suite and main bathroom were spotless, as was the rest of the property. The heating was easy to use, as were the rest of the appliances. Subtle instructions around the property meant that you were not second guessing anything. The bonus of on site parking was a definite advantage. Instructions received before we arrived were really clear, and we accessed the property without any issues. We enjoyed Whitby, however, Runswick Bay and Robin Hood's bay are most certainly worth a visit. We would highly recommend this property.

Host and stay policy to charge for returning deposit or offer insurance instead. That wasn't apparent before booking and seems like a money making scheme. Very off-putting and a shame for the owner who has created a lovely place to stay.

It wasn't clear that the second vehicle would be parked on the street, would have preferred a washer/dryer rather than just a washing machine. Walk into town is steep.

Really spacious and well-appointed property. We liked the fact it was all on one level as we were all taking part in an ultra marathon during our stay and weren’t sure we’d be able to manage stairs after that! On-street parking available at no cost, plus a reserved space.

After I’d paid for the booking in full, I was required to put down an accidental damage deposit. Whilst I had no real issue with this (despite never having had to pay one before), it was the fact that I also had to pay a £10 admin fee for the privilege of the landlord’s agents handling £250 of my money (taking it, and repaying it). A nice little earner for Host & Stay who apparently have 600 properties that they advertise via Booking.com! I objected to this but was told it was mandatory and couldn’t be waived. It definitely left a bitter taste as this was not listed in the advertisement nor the booking details.

The accommodation was 'home-from-homw' and had everything you needed. It's also only about a 10 minute walk from the middle of Whitby.

Only small issue was that they don't supply shower gel and shampoo that are normally included elsewhere. However, only minor and you can bring your own now you know.

This truly was a home from home for us. The apartment is really well equipped. The kitchen has everything you need to cook if you need/want to, there are books and games for entertainment, free WiFi and plenty of TV channels. The location was fantastic, just a few minutes walk into Whitby. We didn't use our car at all whilst staying here.

This is difficult to answer, as we really had a fabulous time here. If I had to pick on something, it would be the lack of absorbency in the bath towels.

Accommodation was lovely and better than expected. We were two families of three and there was more than enough room for us all. Very relaxing and felt right at home, I did say on many occasions that I could live there. There was everything you’d need and even the small things such as hot chocolate, coffee and tea which was a lovely touch. There is a Lidl or a Co-op as well as an Original Factory Shop for the person who forgot their pyjamas. Going to bed was the best as the beds are so comfortable and linen was fresh and clean. I had various questions and they were answered very quickly and also clearly. The only problem I think we had was parking the second car as there wasn’t any on street parking available but this was Easter weekend. Overall we’d visit again and this would be a first choice for accommodation.

The location is not liked by Sat Nav’s (2 travelling separately, with similar issues. The regimented ongoing prolonged booking progress, being feared into damage Insurance, caused me paranoia whilst there, probably why it is so clean and tidy.

From initial booking communication with Host and Stay was great. On arrival we were impressed with the layout of the Chapel , it was bigger than the pictures indicated . As we were travelling with my 70 year old parents - the no steps one level was perfect . We loved the comfy sofas , powerful showers and how well equipped the kitchen was was cooking up full meals from scratch . The location worked for us as it was really quiet but just a 5 minute stroll down hill to the swing bridge .
Having a parking space was a huge bonus as we were able to leave the car during our whole stay .

location was great, and overall accommodation was good.

The toilet seat was hanging off in the main bathroom, and wasn,t dealt with during our stay.
The oven and grill were not very clean inside, (baked on grease), the temperature numbers were rubbed off, it could do with renewing in my opinion, we didn't use it because of this.I took a cushion off the sofa to plump it up and found popcorn and other crumbs underneath.General things that the cleaner should notice.

We had a fantastic family weekend away at the Old Chapel! It is beautifully decorated and well equipped, comfortably accommodating six adults. The location was perfect for exploring Whitby on foot, so everyone could enjoy a drink in one of the many local pubs - we particularly enjoyed our visit to Whitby Brewery.
Prompt communications from the host made booking and checking-in easy. Would highly recommend 🙂

We have had such a lovely stay in The Old Chapel. An excellent location in a quiet spot, yet not too far from town. The parking space was a real bonus too. Check in was very easy, and communication with the the hosts was great. The Chapel is beautifully decorated and so well equipped, you couldn't ask for much more really.
