Lovely apartment so close to all pubs and restaurants within the city walls. very quiet area at night. Everything we needed was supplied and it was warm and comfortable. Would recommend this apartment for anyone who wants to be within walking distance of everything. Hosts were excellent and provided plenty of information.

Comfortable and easy reach to various places. It would be to have a toilet roll holder in the toilet as well as a shelve in the shower. A sharp cooking knife would also be beneficial.

The location of the apartment was so close to the centre with everything at our doorstop in terms of the centre, supermarket, parking etc. interior of the place was beautiful and well set and very spacious. The only downside of the place was there was no AC/fan when we travelled on the hottest day and unfortunately nothing was to be done but to be patient by airing out the heat.

Stayed here for the weekend and had a lovely time. The flat was near the city centre but also quiet at the same time. Lovely and spacious and we enjoyed the stay.

Great apartment, perfect location with everything in the city being in walking distance, but the place itself is in a very quiet and peaceful road away from the hustle and bustle. Top floor apartment meant it was nice and quiet and there is also lift access. The place was spotless and very comfortable. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

Dale’s apartment was lovely, everything we needed was in the apartment. It was convenient for everything and just a short walk into the heart of York. Only thing was we were given the wrong code for the gate to get in and were stood in the pouring rain for 20 minutes. No one told us there was a 0 in front of the 4 digit code we were given.

The apartment and location was great. Only slight gripe was that the code we were given was wrong, but I was repeatedly told it was right (which made me feel stupid) - imagine the code we were given was 1234 - but the actual code you needed was 01234 - yes it’s only one digit, but it meant we couldn’t get in unless someone was walking out of the building. I shared multiple emails and was repeatedly told the code I was given was right - no one called me or was prepared to come out. It was absolutely chucking it down too, so it was just really annoying being out for dinner etc not knowing if we would be able to get back through the gate. Thankfully someone else trying to get in was there at the right time and gave us the correct code. Apartment was lovely though and can’t fault it, but I’d try and be more on it with your guests and call them if they are having check in problems.

The apartment I stayed in York was lovely, in a great location and exactly what I needed. I happily would have given a 5 star review if it wasn’t for the unjustifiable and, in my opinion, un-transparent deposit fees. I saw a mention of a ‘fee’ but expected this to be nominal - I.e. a couple of £ to cover an insurance policy for my time of stay. Oh no, after booking the non-refundable room I was told I either had to pay a £25 (which I never got back) or £250 (which I would get back in up to 4 weeks time minus a ‘£10 admin fee’). This is an absolute joke. The £25 is not a nominal amount for anyone in this tough economic climate so I opted for the latter. Putting me out of pocket for £250 (which was more than I paid for air bnb!!). And I will only get it back in 4 weeks (meaning they’ll keep my money and earn interest on it in their bank account) and then charge me a tenner for the privilege!! It’s an absolute joke.

Firstly I would like to say that I contacted Host & Stay prior to this review. The apartment was presented with a lovely minimal aesthetic and the location was central but still in a quiet location. There was a paid parking area immediately at the front of the apartment building and one within a 6min walk away. The downside that we had to our stay was the cleanliness of the apartment- the kitchen you could see grubby greasy finger marks all over the cupboard doors and the fridge and dishwasher smelt awful to the point we had to open all windows as the smell lingered throughout the apartment - it was like they had been cleaned with a damp unclean cloth. But the smell was pungent and overwhelming which made me reach out to host & stay who responded “thanks for letting us know” no solution to fix. Anything we put in the fridge smelt the same so we ended up not using the fridge or dishwasher so not to open it to contain the smell. Also felt the communication was a bit constant email & txt
