Great little place to stay for New Years! Me my wife and 2 kids loved Thornton Dale. It was a lovely little village with pubs, shops takeaways all in a walkable location. We had a lovely snowy walk by the river which was super nice. We visited Whitby and Scarborough whilst we were there which were both a 30 minute drive. It snowed when we was there too which made it extra special. Host and stay were really good, communication was quick and helpful when needeed.

The property was immaculate and very well equipped. There was a nice touch of a lit Christmas Tree in the property which gave it a welcoming feel. Perfect location in the heart of a very pretty village. We will certainly book again.

Just to let you know the coffee machine does not work! Otherwise all was good. Comfortable beds. Warm house. Had a problem finding the cottage in the dark

Lovely little cottage perfect for what we needed. Host was very quick to respond. Wifi didnt really work whilst we were there, not a huge issue for us as we didnt really need it. Was slightly annoying that on the property description (removed now) it said EV charging was available, but we got told during the stay to un-plug our car as this was not allowed. This was one of the reasons we booked this property. Had a slight problem sorting the extra night we had booked but eventually after ringing the host we managed to sort. All in all nice house and would probably stop again.

This was a great place to stay for the weekend. Whilst you are close to local towns you are tucked away from the hustle and bustle. It’s close to lots of lovely little shops. Very lovely stay!

The cottage was spacious, warm, nice and tidy. The kitchen had everything we needed. It was located in a lovely village with nice little shops and restaurants. Good access to the stations for the steam train journey. Highly recommended.

The cottage was immaculate, within walking distance of local shops and all places for visiting surrounding areas. We had everything we needed for a peaceful long weekend. Host & Stay sent us recommendations of places to visit and of local restaurants. We would definitely come back

The cottage is new and well kept. Clean, comfy beds and sofa to relax on after a long day of hiking. Reasonably well equipped, could add a bigger deep pan and sharpen the knives but these are only minor things. the location is great, just a few yards away from a lovely pub with a beer garden. Excellent host, responded very quickly. Would stay there again.

Lovely cottage exceptional clean had everything we needed, was an ideal place for what we wanted to do and a good seating area outside, lovely and quiet , and having a parking space was great, would highly recommend it. Lived it.

Lovely place to stay. Very easy to find with the sign outside. Great to have a dedicated parking spot too. House was immaculate and very cosy. Would 100% recommend and would stay again.

Had an amazing stay at Sunnydale, the property was easy to find and spotlessly clean. It had all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay and such a quiet location. What a beautiful cottage to stay in, everything was pristine and lovely quality. The location is perfect, we had a fantastic week and really loved everything about the surrounding area. Our hosts couldn’t have been more friendly or more helpful with everything, gave us some fantastic recommendations for things to see, places to visit & where to eat. We had a superb break and really appreciated everything in the cottage and the lovely helpful hosts. Thank you so much. We would love to return sometime to visit again.

Clean, well equipped kitchen , good shower and comfortable beds. Looked like photos. Lovely pub, the buck, around the corner and we went to the fox and rabbit for Sunday dinner which is around 5 min drive away. Good basic accommodation base to visit local area.

Fantastic property right in the centre of Thornton Le Dale which is a beautiful village with a lovely bakery and chocolate shop. Ideally located to visit the surrounding area, Helmsley, North York Moors NP, Dalby Forest etc. We would stay again and would recommend to family and friends.

Lovely cottage finished to a high standard. Arrived an hour early but wasn’t allowed to check in till time stated. So waited outside till the hour were up. Property all on one floor as didn’t want stairs. Unfortunately there were 2steep steps to the garden or patio, I wasn’t aware of this when I booked. Steps needs hand rails of which the host assured me it will be done shortly. Such a great location just 3 mins walk to the local pub. The Buck is a great pub but unfortunately found the New Inn staff rather rude. There is a great restaurant brandysnap which is a stone throw away. Beds were comfy singles pushed together so had a line down the middle if you were wanting a double. Would definitely stay again if the hand rails were on the steps to garden. Had amazing meal at the willow gate bistro in Pickering. It’s a real treat to dine there.

stayed at Sunny Dale cottage in Thornton le Dale after being let down by another airbnb place a day before my stay. Was a very lovely place to stay, lots of local walks to explore, places in village and surrounding areas for food/supplies etc. Was fairly clean, think £60 for cleaning fee on top of cost was a tad excessive though.

Have to say I was a bit annoyed at having to pay a damage waiver close to checking in and in order to receive check in instructions (never had to do that on Airbnb before) but having said that - Sunny Dale Cottage was a gorgeous place to stay. The cottage is lovely and walking distance to everything in one of THE most prettiest villages. We were very cosy and comfortable and loved our stay. Can highly recommend the cottage and Thornton le Dale as a base to explore the beautiful region.

Great location for York, Whitby and Scarborough. The accommodation was beautiful, clean, well presented and welcoming. Lovely pubs abf tea shops in the village. Highly recommended

Clean and well equipped. Great hot water. I think ceramic hard floor in living area, kitchen and bathroom was comfortable due to underfloor heating. Some details missing, e.g. no washing up liquid (rectified a day later) and not enough dishwasher tablets (also rectified). Internet connection was a bit hit and miss because I think it is via a mobile signal which is not great. Be aware you have to pay a damage protection deposit (plus £10 non-refundable admin fee) or a £25 waiver fee on top of the Airbnb fee which is a first for me in very many Airbnb stays.

This was our second stay at this location and we enjoyed it as much as the first. The setting within the village of Thornton le Dale is ideal, being behind the main street and the centre of village. There are 2 excellent pubs within 2-3 minutes walk and a few take ways too. There's a saved space for parking too, which the owners (who run a business that's on the main street) let us use for a while past check out time as we purchased snacks for the trip before leaving. The cottage itself is well presented, with 2 comfortable bedrooms, a light and airy bathroom and a spacious living area. The furniture is comfy and the rooms are clean and tidy with plenty of space to unpack into. As for the location in North Yorkshire, it's 5mins drive from Dalby Forest, 30 mins from Whitby, 25 mins from Scarborough and 40 mins from York, so if you want a place to go out for day trips, this one is hard to beat.

Had a very pleasant stay here. Second time booking from Host & Stay and will certainly book again in the future. Minor thing worth boring which is not stated anywhere is that Netflix is available and a private parking space included.

Accommodation is ideally located for Scarborough, York and whitby. We had a lovely stay. Bungalow is cosy yet has a modern feel. 2 nice sized bedrooms plus a bathroom. Kitchen living area is lovely and bright. Kitchen facilties are nice also. Parking is a great extra. The location is lovely there's a really nice chippy, a corner shop, a chocolate shop, a chemist and a few cafes and pubs.

We had a lovely stay at Sunnydale Cottage. It’s right in the centre of Thornton Le Dale with easy access to the village amenities, to Dalby and out to the coast. The house itself is great, really clean, well presented and has everything you need. Small children are not particularly provided for so I recommend taking a plastic cup/kids cutlery if you have a little one. The communication from the host was great, they were responsive to emails but not ‘in your face’ which I prefer. Check in and out were simple and effective. Finding it is not the simplest without satnav but Stay provided us with accurate directions via google maps. Would definitely recommend it to friends.

What a great find this was! Sunny Dale cottage is extremely well equipped with all mod cons - even a coffee machine! Everything has been chosen really well and the cottage was clean, bright and airy. It was really good having the outside space to sit in too. The property is close to the amenities in Thornton le Dale and the village is picturesque and very convenient for lots of places. The customer service from Stay was excellent, with efficient, prompt replies to my messages. Thanks for a great stay, Stay.... would definitely visit again.
