Superb location in the heart of Thornton le Dale, spacious accommodation and garden.

Disappointed with the little touches this time. No kitchen roll, only one toilet roll, 6 sachets of milk, 4 sachets of coffee. Tea pot in cupboard was very dirty (outside and inside). Would be greatly improved with a little welcome pack, makes all the difference.
We found the beds very hard and I ended up sleeping on the sofa. A topper on each bed would help and, for those who prefer a hard bed, could be removed and stored.

While we accept it was a self catering stay, we found one or two basics were either in short supply or simply not included ie one toilet roll, no washing up liquid or brush, no kitchen roll, shower over bath needed either a bath mat or safety handrail as it was very slippery, no basic condiments (salt, pepper, oil)

In the centre of the village and easy to get around from this location to different places. The property was very clean and well presented.

We were there for 5 days but they only left 1 toilet roll for 3 people. They only left 2 dishwasher tablets. There should have been at least 5 tablets, which would have been 1 for each day surely. They need a big mirror somewhere in the property for you to be able to do your hair, check clothes etc as only 1 very small mirror on cupboard in each room.

What a beautiful cottage to stay in, everything was pristine and lovely quality. The location is perfect, we had a fantastic week and really loved everything about the surrounding area.
Our hosts couldn’t have been more friendly or more helpful with everything, gave us some fantastic recommendations for things to see, places to visit & where to eat.
We had a superb break and really appreciated everything in the cottage and the lovely helpful hosts. Thank you so much. We would love to return sometime to visit again.

Very nice cottage.

Having to pay £25 insurance after I paid for my booking was disappointing, a bit more transparency would be fairer just seemed like a money spinner.
Not double beds, single beds pushed together making them uncomfortable, heating pump noisy kept waking me up, only one toilet roll.
Not interested in a response btw.

Sunny Dale Cottage is a beautiful little home from home. Absolutely spotless and well equipped with everything you need for your stay. Beds are very comfy with crisp clean bedding. It has a bistro set out back and a couple of loungers which is fab as this is a little suntrap! We enjoyed sitting out taking in the last bit of sun after our day exploring. It’s located in a quiet spot off tucked away, your own little sanctuary 🥰 There is a bakery close by with its own cafe which has a fantastic menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner also a great choice of cakes and sweet treats. Next door up from the bakery is the beer garden for The Buck, local pub, again the beer garden is lovely to sit and enjoy the sunshine whilst having a refreshment, they also serve pub meals however I personally felt they were overpriced for what you got. All in all I would recommend Sunny Dale Cottage and I will most certainly be back there myself, absolutely loved it! 🥰

The only thing I would have liked was a full length mirror in the property however this is just a personal thing and by no means did this affect my stay 🥰

Lovely clean cottage, in a perfect location with everything you need on the doorstep.

Just a shame the garden wasn't full enclosed with a fence to make it secure as we had a toddler who wanted to escape! Also there is a bit of a drop off the edge of the garden which wasn't really clear on the pictures on the website. This could be a little dangerous with a small child and we felt we couldn't relax. We will definitely revisit in a few years when our little girl is a little older!

Maybe a few more tea towels as we were only provided one.

The cottage is new, with a lovely courtyard garden that allowed you to have breakfast in the morning sun and even your evening meal bathed in sunlight. The village is beautiful and the perfect location for 'Bangers and Cash' fans. Was a great base to explore just some of the things Yorkshire has to offer, such as Castle Howard, Whitby, steam railways, hiking, etc etc.

Clean, well equipped kitchen , good shower and comfortable beds. Looked like photos. Lovely pub, the buck, around the corner and we went to the fox and rabbit for Sunday dinner which is around 5 min drive away. Good basic accommodation base to visit local area.

Lovely cottage in a very picturesque village. Cottage is just behind main street in a lovely lane. Cottage is very well equipped, very clean and very comfortable. Well maintained - both inside and out.
Check in (and out) was easy. A great place to stay.

The only thing (I'm being very picky here) were the cushions on the couch. They were needing a wash and new inserts.

Fantastic property right in the centre of Thornton Le Dale which is a beautiful village with a lovely bakery and chocolate shop. Ideally located to visit the surrounding area, Helmsley, North York Moors NP, Dalby Forest etc. We would stay again and would recommend to family and friends.

Great location

Plenty of better value options in the village or surrounding area. Dirty mugs in the cupboard, grime around bath and taps.

Watch out for additional costs for insurance - booking page stated twice that is fully refundable, but there's an admin fee which is not refunded. Not a big fee but not expected and first time I've ever been charged for a pre authorisation payment in case of damage.

Lovely cottage finished to a high standard. Arrived an hour early but wasn’t allowed to check in till time stated. So waited outside till the hour were up.
Property all on one floor as didn’t want stairs. Unfortunately there were 2steep steps to the garden or patio, I wasn’t aware of this when I booked. Steps needs hand rails of which the host assured me it will be done shortly.
Such a great location just 3 mins walk to the local pub.
The Buck is a great pub but unfortunately found the New Inn staff rather rude.
There is a great restaurant brandysnap which is a stone throw away.
Beds were comfy singles pushed together so had a line down the middle if you were wanting a double.
Would definitely stay again if the hand rails were on the steps to garden.
Had amazing meal at the willow gate bistro in Pickering. It’s a real treat to dine there.

stayed at Sunny Dale cottage in Thornton le Dale after being let down by another airbnb place a day before my stay.
Was a very lovely place to stay, lots of local walks to explore, places in village and surrounding areas for food/supplies etc.
Was fairly clean, think £60 for cleaning fee on top of cost was a tad excessive though.

The location suited us perfectly.

We were generally very pleased with the whole property and facilities.
However, my husband is disabled, and while the property overall was very accessible there is one point I would like to make--- Many disabled people find it very difficult to sit on low (and low backed ) chairs . May I make a suggestion?
Could a higher backed chair be made available for such clients. It would have made the visit so much more comfortable.

Have to say I was a bit annoyed at having to pay a damage waiver close to checking in and in order to receive check in instructions (never had to do that on Airbnb before) but having said that - Sunny Dale Cottage was a gorgeous place to stay. The cottage is lovely and walking distance to everything in one of THE most prettiest villages. We were very cosy and comfortable and loved our stay. Can highly recommend the cottage and Thornton le Dale as a base to explore the beautiful region.

The accommodation was well presented and perfectly placed for local amenities. On the whole very satisfied with our stay.

The bedroom doors did not click closed so rattled if a window was open.
On the whole the cleaning was OK, just a dirty, used tissue at the side of the bed and a bit around the bath that required cleaning better.

Location was excellent as was the outside area and the car parking .Also liked how close the pub was!The kitchen was extremely well equipped.

The bathroom should have a non slip mat in it to use as it became slippery in the shower and difficult to get out.The lack of a full length mirror was also commented on by one of our party.

Clean and well equipped. Great hot water. I think ceramic hard floor in living area, kitchen and bathroom was comfortable due to underfloor heating. Some details missing, e.g. no washing up liquid (rectified a day later) and not enough dishwasher tablets (also rectified). Internet connection was a bit hit and miss because I think it is via a mobile signal which is not great. Be aware you have to pay a damage protection deposit (plus £10 non-refundable admin fee) or a £25 waiver fee on top of the Airbnb fee which is a first for me in very many Airbnb stays.

Wi-Fi is quite poor but could be due to the area as it is quite rural. Some parts of the property were quite worn - fittings in the bathroom and scuffs on the walls etc.

This was our second stay at this location and we enjoyed it as much as the first.
The setting within the village of Thornton le Dale is ideal, being behind the main street and the centre of village. There are 2 excellent pubs within 2-3 minutes walk and a few take ways too. There's a saved space for parking too, which the owners (who run a business that's on the main street) let us use for a while past check out time as we purchased snacks for the trip before leaving.
The cottage itself is well presented, with 2 comfortable bedrooms, a light and airy bathroom and a spacious living area. The furniture is comfy and the rooms are clean and tidy with plenty of space to unpack into.
As for the location in North Yorkshire, it's 5mins drive from Dalby Forest, 30 mins from Whitby, 25 mins from Scarborough and 40 mins from York, so if you want a place to go out for day trips, this one is hard to beat.

Everything was good only small fault was that the underfloor heating was not really efficient in the lounge/kitchen diner. Rest of the property took a couple of days to warm up sufficiently but as we arrived in a Thursday it may well have her empty for a few days beforehand.

The property is virtually brand new so everything was fresh and clean. The underfloor heating was very efficient. The kitchen was very well equipped. The location was brilliant - just a minute from the centre of Thornton-le-Dale on a very pretty road.

Did not have breakfast. The location was very good.

In general the property was clean, however we did have to hoover on arrival, the carpets needed a once over. The main problem was the amount of cobwebs and spiders, it had clearer not been dusted at high levels around the property, Which was a little disapointing.

Accommodation is ideally located for Scarborough, York and whitby. We had a lovely stay. Bungalow is cosy yet has a modern feel. 2 nice sized bedrooms plus a bathroom. Kitchen living area is lovely and bright. Kitchen facilties are nice also. Parking is a great extra. The location is lovely there's a really nice chippy, a corner shop, a chocolate shop, a chemist and a few cafes and pubs.

We had a lovely stay at Sunnydale Cottage. It’s right in the centre of Thornton Le Dale with easy access to the village amenities, to Dalby and out to the coast. The house itself is great, really clean, well presented and has everything you need. Small children are not particularly provided for so I recommend taking a plastic cup/kids cutlery if you have a little one. The communication from the host was great, they were responsive to emails but not ‘in your face’ which I prefer. Check in and out were simple and effective. Finding it is not the simplest without satnav but Stay provided us with accurate directions via google maps. Would definitely recommend it to friends.

What a great find this was!
Sunny Dale cottage is extremely well equipped with all mod cons - even a coffee machine! Everything has been chosen really well and the cottage was clean, bright and airy. It was really good having the outside space to sit in too.
The property is close to the amenities in Thornton le Dale and the village is picturesque and very convenient for lots of places.
The customer service from Stay was excellent, with efficient, prompt replies to my messages.
Thanks for a great stay, Stay.... would definitely visit again.
