Keep scrolling and find some other place! (PS I have never before left a bad review) Pros - Beautifully furnished and decorated Cons - log burner was not working on arrival - instead of letting us know prior to arrival, we reached to find a note. Not good enough. Especially as we had pre bought logs for the wood burner. The log burner is one of the selling points for the house, especially in the cold and wetter weather - when i queried this, it has taken the company over 13 working days to respond! - No shower gel provided!! - Tiny sinks in the bathrooms meaning a lot of water falls outside and with no extra towels provided, it was just rather messy - Beautiful master bathroom with a huge picture window - right on the main road so we couldn’t enjoy the views as everyone driving or walking past the house could look right into the bathroom - especially the many double decker buses that drive past!! - Very soft beds - No wardrobes to hang clothes, only drawer

Had a great stay in this gorgeous property which was exactly as described. A great location close to Lake District towns, with quiet and peaceful surroundings. Would recommend to anyone. Very spacious and cosy and hosts were very responsive with messages. The only issue we had was with the lock and key on the front door and struggled to get in and out at times so had to use the side entrance.

Had a lovely stay here, the house was bigger and more spacious than we had imagined. It had everything you could think of, including a cinema room and gym. The host was really good at replying quickly if we had any questions or needed to communicate with them. The space was clean and cosy, while still being spacious. The perfect place for a lovely get away, we had no kids in our group but they accommodate for kids well. One thing I would note which isn’t outlined on the listing is that you do need to buy your own logs for the fire but they are cheap and it wasn’t an issue for us- the log burner was a lovely addition for our stay. Towels smelt slightly damp in one of the rooms but it didn’t bother us too much. We loved our stay and it’s pet friendly and our doggies loved it too!!! Thank you so much for a perfect weekend in a lovely area!

We stayed for 3 nights, there were 5 adults and 2 dogs and what a great space this was for us all. The house was much bigger than we thought, easy check in with clear instructions and house was easy to find. We had 3 cars with us and plenty of room on the drive. The house was spotlessly clean. Facilities were all great, we stayed over the weekend while Storm Amy was taking place and couldn't have asked for a nicer house to hide out in. Plenty of room for us all and the kitchen is such a great social space to hang out in. 3 bathrooms and a downstairs toilet meant everyone had their own bathroom. Small-ish garden to the front of the property, looked like the dogs could jump the wall or go under the gate so we popped them on leads when letting them out but not a big deal at all (and we knew this before checking in). House is next to a road but minimal noise from this, didn't effect us at all. Would 100% recommend this house and we would return again.

Very well equipped home. Comfortable seating, large bedrooms with lovely en-suites and bathroom. Bedding and mattress gave very pleasant nights sleep. Kitchen appliances high end and very well laid out. Easy parking and the cafe next door was a bonus. Unfortunately the heating and hot water stopped working the first morning. Host and stay telephoned me by 10 that morning. The owner called and gave me instructions to fix the problem which took calls over several hours which concluded in him guiding me to more key safes and the cupboard for the water immersion. The following morning the plumber arrived at 7.45am. To press the reset button on the boiler. He told me he had told the owner to give me that information the morning before. Having 3 elderly people with me I found it very stressful. We had to cancel a restaurant booking because we had not showered and were cold so we bought hot water bottles. The owner suggested that the fire was amazing but did not supply logs or fire lighters.

Great property, huge rooms, loved the styling - perfect for a family get away. Read the welcome note to find the cutlery drawer! Cute garden but had to keep our dog on a lead as next to a road and plenty of gaps to our little escapee. Yew Tree Barn is just 2 minutes walk with Harry’s café serving the most delicious food and dog friendly too. Big thank you to Anna and the team for organising a cake and being so attentive. We will definitely return for our next visit to see our family. It’s such a gorgeous and convenient location for the Lakes and surrounding areas including access to the motorway when we sadly had to go home.

We had a lovely time at South View! So much space for three adults, two children and two dogs. Beautiful house, handy garden for the dogs to run around in. Walks opposite and near Cartmel and Windermere. Was hard to leave! Would love to go back.

Great big modern house perfect for large groups. Really clean and comfortable. Beds and pillows were particularly great ! The one drawback Is that the property is on the main road so you can hear road noise if windows are open from all bedrooms.

Absolutely beautiful house with plenty of space. Very clean and so well decorated. Easy to find and good location for cartmel (a drive away). Didn’t realise it was so close to quite a fast road so would need to be careful with children or dogs.

Beautiful house which was ideal for our visit to Cartmel races. Extremely comfortable and spacious- 3 couples within the party all enjoyed our own space and privacy thanks to us all having our own bathroom. Beds are so comfortable and kitchen is well appointed, although not really used as we breakfasted at Harry’s- just a two minute walk and the next day at Holker Hall. Evening meal at the nearest pub - Royal Oak which served amazing food. Great weekend and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay at South View.

We booked this house to celebrate a big family birthday. It's a traditional lakeland house which has been completely renovated inside. It was clean and well presented. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. It is a large house with plenty of space for everyone to spread out and enjoy their own time when needed. A lovely patio to enjoy the sun. It is right by the road, with one outside wall right on the roadside, and road noise can be heard, particularly in the bedrooms. However, this would not stop us returning for another celebration. We ran out of toilet roll as full rolls were not left on arrival.

Had a fantastic few nights here.. the girls loved it and spent the first few hours exploring to find where everything was. The kitchen was a focal point every day and it was huge. I'd fully recommend this for anyone.

Really beautiful property with so much space and super clean! Lovely little place for brunch just up the road too. The only negative was that we were given the wrong code for the lock at check in - we rang the number and no one answered. We rang back later and finally got through to someone who confirmed the correct details. Three hours later someone called back to check we were in - given that check in is already quite late at 4pm this really ate into our evening and was disappointing given how well thought out and lovely the rest of the property is!

Wow!!! What a house. We had a beautiful 4 days here with our dogs. Beautiful house lovely and spacious. Felt really at home. The road was not busy so barely heard a car. Enjoyed walks every morning from the house. Highly recommend here for a stay. One of the best B&B we have stayed in . Well done 😃

South View is a beautiful property off the beaten track. The area is so peaceful and beautiful but it is a short drive to the local shops and restaurants. My family and I enjoyed our stay here, there was plenty of space and the house was clean and very modern. We will be returning here again.

We had a very enjoyable stay at South View. The house is decorated tastefully and the rooms are larger than expected. The road it is located on is quite noisy but this didn’t take away from the stay.

The cottage was beautiful and in a lovely location. However, the communication was really poor. We had a problem regarding access and we had to take the matter into our own hands as there was zero communication received from hosts after ringing several times. We also had no hot water on our second night and asked for advice on how to resolve this but again did not receive a response. Overall, we had a great stay but the communication just let it down.

Just had the most chill time with a group of mates at up at the lakes. We were all sad to leave this amazing house. Nicely presented decorated and finished to a high spec throughout. The rooms are very spacious apart from the cinema room which is quite cosy. Loved the fully equipped kitchen which made light-work of entertaining in it. I was pleasantly surprised to see there is even enough space to relax on the rear garden patio and have a BBQ - which isn't obvious from the pictures! Location although off a (quiet) road is, fairly secluded, very quiet and within 20mins of all the activities we wanted to do that weekend. I'll be coming back to this gem in the future for sure! Absoluteleh loveleh!

Lovely house with pristine rooms, all appeared to have been recently refurbished. Beds were super comfy. And tons of space in all the rooms. The en-suites are definitely luxurious. And the kids loved the gym! Lovely large lawn area to the front and side of house (there’s no rear garden). Only downside was that, though it’s on a very quiet side road you can hear the nearby bypass when outside. But inside the windows are well insulated and it doesn’t disturb at all. Easy to get to Lake Windermere and Grange over Sands. Great value for money. Would definitely recommend.

Larger than you think, rooms all generous, extra living space. Hard without a car given where it is, need to pre book taxis if you have no car, but that's not the hosts fault. Very well presented, clean and would go back.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The hosts had brilliant communication and the location is fantastic! Not only do you have the gorgeous Lake District to explore but Yew tree barn, with their wonderful Harry’s Cafe (a must visit for breakfast/ lunch ) is right next door and the much hyped about Heft is just a short walk up the road. The house is very comfortable and spacious, there is plenty of room for everyone if your staying indoors on a rainy day. We will most definitely be staying again

This is a beautiful home in a peaceful location. The house is easily large enough to accommodate 6 people. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms and kitchen have been tastefully renovated. The restaurant next door is great for coffee or lunch. The location is a little isolated but it was perfect for our needs. A very enjoyable stay.

What a little gem off a place, it’s off the beaten track but only 20 min drive to Windermere and anyone going lakes should expect to drive really, my only thumbs down was wasn’t able to get a late check out as trip was planned for Mother’s Day and didn’t understand why when there was no other booking coming in that day or the day after 🤷🏼. The washing machine isn’t really usable as for some reason it didn’t take the washing capsules or spin enough as clothes ( school uniforms ) was still soaking and had the washing liquid in patches on them, maybe a new machine is needed 🤷🏼 We would stay again but would again opt for a late check out other than 10 am on a Sunday with children, host and stay you have a great place and maybe think about them late check outs as think this would deffo bring customers back again and again for you.

What an idyllic home! We could not fault our stay at South View. From the moment we pulled up to the gate, we knew it would be just perfect. The beautiful long hallway, leading off to a cosy (huge) living room with super comfy sofas, to the open plan kitchen which has everything you could ever need. We were super impressed with all the amenities available for children such as cutlery, plates, cups, highchair, cot, bedding and toys. Off from the kitchen is a cosy cinema room and a gym!! The rooms were just stunning, one large 'honeymoon' suite with a standalone bath and walk-in wardrobe. A room with 2 single beds and then another large king size room with an en-suite. I would highly recommend this place, so quiet and peaceful and very close to the most beautiful village, Cartmel. Also a 20 minute or so drive to Windermere and a beach in Grange-Over-Sands close by. The photos don't do it justice. Thank you to the wonderful hosts, we will be back!!

We really enjoyed our stay at South View. The area was just what we were after - peaceful, quiet, and the surroundings were absolutely beautiful. The house itself is gorgeous, really beautifully decorated and you can tell everything has been recently renovated. The interior design is gorgeous. The host was responsive and provided us with a very detailed out welcome pack prior to checking in. The garden is a great size, drive big enough for 4 cars, house beautiful. You do have to drive everywhere, but we expected that and that was absolutely fine. They had also pre made a fire which was a nice detail. Unfortunately, the bin in the main en suite bathroom hadn’t been emptied, there was an empty bottle on top of the fridge, few areas which needed dusting. We were also told we couldn’t have early check in/ late check out, which meant we were out on the crack of dawn on our last day, which put a dampener on the end of our experience. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, just get the duster out!
