A beautiful spacious property providing convenient parking, within easy walking distance of the main attractions.
The master bedroom provides a luxurious extra-large bath, the bed was extremely comfortable. The kitchen is nice and modern, and as we had nice weather the private seating area outside was great to have. It ticked everything on our wish list, enabling us to enjoy our anniversary in Whitby.
We would be very happy to stay here again. Thank you :)

The house is lovely and a good location. The highlight being the master suite, which is gorgeous.
Disappointingly though, we arrived to find a kitchen tap that was continuously running and someone parked in our space.
We notified Host & Stay immediately through the AirBnB app but they took 2 days to respond. We also reported a high pitched noise with the boiler every time the toilets were flushed or taps ran.
They responded to say the problems would be raised immediately with their maintenance team but we left with none of the issues having been fixed.
Unlike other places we have stayed there was no sugar or milk provided.
The cleaning could have been better - mess in the backyard and greasy doors on the ovens.
Good place for a couple or 2 parents with children but be aware there is only wardrobes in the master suite. Only one of the other 3 bedrooms has a clothes rail.

We had a wonderful stay at Soda Cottage. The location was great, just a short walk into the town and local amenities. The accommodation was perfect, lovely rooms, great kitchen and breakfast bar area. It was really peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely recommend we had a great time there.

. lots of towels
. parking is very limited and I couldn't park in my space due to someone else parking there, host and stay called me to move my car but I was blocked in. luckily the person left a note and came to an agreement but this did spoil my stay worrying about this.

the cottage was not cleaned well. the bathrooms were clean but the carpet in the livingroom was stained and when my dogs ball went under the sofa I pulled it out to get it back and it was disgusting. the kitchen tap constantly dripped which gets annoying.

absolutely perfect spot for our stay. we didn't want to be right in the centre but also not too far away that we couldn't walk in. the back yard is the perfect sun trap for just chilling out and listening to the birds. we had a lovely stay and will definitely be recommending it to other and will happily stay again.

Wonderful stay at Soda Cottage, the property was beautiful and beautifully decorated.
The kitchen was equipped with everything you would need to cook a meal or even a snack, do your washing or even to use the dish washer.
It was a short walk to the harbour and all the attractions, which meant 2 of the group who where getting on in age managed the walk, with help from their strollers. The only thing I would say is...if your in the winter of your lives and need aids to help with getting in/out the shower which is over a bath on the 1st floor, then please take a suction grip handle as a support.
The very large bedroom on the top floor is amazing, its bright and airy and, it hosts a fabulous large bath in the room, there is a walk-in shower too if needed unfortunately, the two oldies couldn't manage to get up there.
The chippy which was very close by to our accomodation was amazing.
All in all, great accomodation and a great location.

Soda Cottage was perfect, we got a lovely welcome bottle of wine and a large milk with tea and coffee which was lovely as I'd forgot milk. All rooms spotless and the attic bed was so comfortable after the fabulous bath. kitchen had everything ypu need and outside area perfect for breakfast and enclosed for the dog too. Lovely sofas to relax on. So close to all amenities. Hadleys fish and chips is fab and all the lovely tea shops. The beaches have such great seaglass and fossils for crafting, we got so much to make some fab jewellery and other crafts. Definitely stay again at this lovely cottage it was such a nice place. Thank you ☺️

We had a lovely stay at this house. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed, which made cooking really convenient. It’s in a great location, close to town, which was a big plus. Just a heads up—parking is only available for one car, and nearby parking can be quite expensive. Although the place was available, the hosts didn’t allow us to arrive even an hour early without an extra charge, which was a bit disappointing as we were traveling with two young babies and an earlier check-in would’ve been a huge help. The cleanliness wasn’t quite up to expectations—we found dirty towels and socks left in one of the bedrooms, which was off-putting. Also, the floorboards were incredibly noisy—something to consider if you have light-sleeping children. Overall, it’s a charming place with potential, but there are a few things guests should be aware of

When we arrived for a special weekend away, we were met with an uncleared house. Dirty dishes, bedding, unclean surfaces and spit and toothpaste in sink, unclean toilets. This ruined the day, it was already a late check in at 4pm and then we had to go out with my mother who is old and wanted a lie down. She burst into tears when seeing the unclean house and this tainted the whole stay. The cleaners arrived and did a quick clean so we could get in at around 6pm, but by then after unpacking were unable to go out for dinner where we had planned due to the time. The house was listed with a parking space, which it does but unfortunately other houses in the courtyard were using it, as was the cleaner who wasn’t even parking in the space of the house she was cleaning. The owners could easily fix this by having cctv, fines in place for parking in incorrect spaces. I only booked somewhere with parking as my mum can’t walk far. The house is nice and a good location though, but I’m unhappy.

This house is absolutely beautiful, it has everything you need for a lovely stay. It’s in a perfect location for Whitby, infact we never moved our car all weekend. Would just say if you have more than one car there is only one car parking space - we booked to park the other car on someone’s drive ( through just park app) nearby which was fine.
Little tricky to find we turned down the wrong road first time, make sure you go under the arch not the narrow road the sat nav takes you!
Would definitely stay here again!!!!

Overall I would highly recommend this as a place to stay to explore Whitby and the surrounding areas. We had a lovely time and would 100% stay here again. Considering the spec and location I thought it was excellent value.

I would say, considering there are 4 bedrooms, the living area is maybe a touch small. 2 standard sized sofas were certainly fine but there were only 3 of us (and one big Labrador.)

Parking is fine with one designated space. No electric charge point.

Communication could be slightly improved but in the end everything was smooth at check-in and the app you can download is helpful.

I've read some reviews about the internet but it is 70mbs speed so absolutely fine.

Really lovely accommodation. Good sized bedrooms and perfectly clean. A reasonable walk to Whitby centre and a fish and chip shop 2 mins away.
My only criticism was that it was missing basics like bin bags, washing up liquid and there were no toiletries. There’s salt and pepper and that’s about it!
Would definitely stay again though.

All the guests enjoyed their stay and the house was furnished beautifully. We didn,t use any kitchen appliances except the kettle and toaster and It was very well equipped.
The bedrooms/bathrooms were spotless, however in the double bedroom on first floor, there was dust behind bedside table (found after retrieving something that had fell behind) and a dirty cushion cover on the top floor bed.
It is situated a reasonable distance to walk into town. We would definitely stay again and also recommend it to friends/ family.
The only other negative, were the squeaky stairs, especially when creaping up or down, trying not to disturb anyone!
Plenty of lovely memories were maid, thankyou 😊

The photographs do not give justice to this cottage. It was larger than we were expecting and beautifully set out.
We enjoyed a very comfortable stay. The property was easy to find and the private parking space within the courtyard was invaluable.
We were attending the Whitby 60’s weekend and were able to walk to the pavilion with ease and has access to all of the towns main attractions. A very short drive to Sainsbury’s and the surrounding countryside. We would recommend this property without hesitation

Spacious, great location, easy to park, comfortable bed and luxurious bedding.

A few items were missing, no large/pint glasses, no cleaning products ie kitchen spray, no toiletries provided despite being mentioned on the listing. A coffee table in the living room would also be useful. Many of the cupboards/windows were set so high up they were difficult to access.

Returned home from Soda Cottage today and miss it already. It’s a beautiful property in a quiet courtyard development about 10 minutes walk from the centre of Whitby. Loved our stay, met the whole family’s needs. Great location. Private parking. Would definitely stay again when we get the chance 😃

The property itself is lovely, great location.

It advertises streaming services like Netflix etc, this isn’t the case as the internet does not work. With two young kids and a baby, the early mornings would have benefited with something for them to watch. Simply didn’t work. I reported it the first day and it took 2 days for a response and there was no solution. I didn’t push it as we were out of the house first thing and back late enough so tv was not a real bother, it’s just to be prepared that the internet and phone signal isn’t good at all.

I did not continue with my stay in the property to comment as the property failed to provide what was advertised. I had to leave due to no internet connection and having a son with disabilities who needed this.

There is no internet. The property advertises internet and streaming services. This is untrue! I rang Host and Stay before making this booking to check it had good wifi as my son is autistic and cannot manage without this. They stated the property had good wifi. On arrival I tried to connect to the wifi. It is non existent. There is no wifi, no streaming service and even the TV channels were not accessible due to no internet connection. The most disappointing thing is the lack of care and support. I called Host and Stay 3 times on arrival and they kept saying they would make enquiries and call me back which they never did. I had to vacate the property after two hours of distress from my son and received no contact from Host and Stay. I ended up having to book in to a hotel as they did absolutely nothing to resolve this. It’s been over a week now and I have not even received a phone call regarding my complaint and the stress this put us under when we were supposed to be having a nice holiday away! This is false advertising. There is no internet, no streaming services and I could not even access mobile data on my phone in this property. In this day and age we all need internet. I would not be able to stay anywhere without it and it is appalling to advertise this property has wifi and confirm on the phone that it was good. I could not even find a router.
I would suggest if you need internet do not stay here and don’t trust the company to contact you about your complaint if you have one. I filled in their form which says they will respond within 7 days and this has not happened either. I will be continuing my complaint and escalating matters further. Just more stress that I don’t need. All I wanted was a nice holiday break for myself and my son and it turned into a nightmare!

Lovely house, really enjoyed our stay. Everything you could need is provided. Easy walking distance to the town and having parking is a great bonus. The patio garden is secure for dogs but there is no grass so you need to take a walk when they need a wee. Would highly recommend Soda Cottage.

The proximity to the centre

The lack of adequate (WiFi) though I understand that this has now been upgraded.
Insufficient crockery and glassware to enable the dishwasher to be run on full.
Dangerously high kitchen cupboards and shelves.
Lack of basic kitchen equipment like oven gloves and washing up brush.

We have just got back from a three night stay at Soda Cottage. Fabulous house, big enough for the 6 of us. Great location, walking distance to the Abbey and town centre. Would definitely stay here again!

The house was lovely And in a nice position

Internet was pathetic was so bad it was under 1tb . Phone signal isn’t the best either . I rang before I went to see if I needed to bring a tv for my sons room to hook up his ps5 .i asked about the internet everything was ok but it wasn’t . Took 4 days to get in touch with owners of house .We weren’t getting kept up to date . My son is severely autistic with a learning disability .and PS GAMES are one of his obsessions. We had to get an hot spot on our phones for him . My daughter had to leave 3days early because you can’t possibly work from there . We couldn’t even get internet on our phone most the time . NO WAY COULD YOU USE ANYTHING NEEDING INTERNET . The owners say it’s not a guaranteed facility it’s a luxury !!!! . Absolutley disgusting . JUST DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU NEED INTERNET . OUR PHONES WOULDNT EVEN CONNECT IT WAS SO POOR . No compensation for the upset and stress of ringing up numerous times . WAITING IN FOR SOMEBODY FROM THE TEAM TO HAVE A LOOK !!!It took 5 days for them to even register with the internet provider . Nobody came to look at it . Owners of the house said we must of been streaming and using the internet
Data . IF ONLY . So for anybody not wanting internet this place is ok . But in this day and age it’s not a luxury it’s a necessity . Kids use internet on a daily basis never mind adults . And anybody with children /adults with a disability and needing occupied by IPad or PlayStation forget about it DO NOT TRUST THESE 😡

Just had a wonderful family weekend in this first class accommodation. The house is lovely, bright and airy. Bedrooms are beautiful, clean and with crisp white linen and towels, are very comfortable. Lovely big bathrooms with great showers. Gorgeous kitchen and lovely, comfortable lounge area. The outside seating area is a great sun trap. All finished off with some lovely homely touches like the beautiful lamps and mirrors.
I would highly recommend Soda Cottage to anyone.

Excellent location and beautiful, spacious property with everything you need. Walkable to the quieter side of Whitby town, with everything you need in walkable distance. No problems with parking, we brought two cars and paid for 4 days parking with the Whitby tourist information for one of the cars. Everything was ten out of ten although the one small thing that did let it down was the WiFi, it wasn’t very good if you wanted to watch Netflix or prime, or something on a tablet or phone. The tvs worked fine though.
Overall a good property and would go back there and recommend for families and people looking to do some walking.
