We had a wonderful stay at The Snoozy Goose in Ovingham and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. The cottage is beautifully done, with a fantastic kitchen and bathroom that feel both high quality and very comfortable to use during a longer stay. The whole place has a really snug, cosy atmosphere, especially with the fire lit; perfect for relaxing after a day out exploring. The location is ideal: great local walks right on the doorstep in Northumberland, and it’s also easy to get into Newcastle, making it a brilliant base whether you want countryside or city. It’s also exceptionally dog-friendly. The dog blankets were a thoughtful and very welcome touch, and the location couldn’t be better for dog owners. Being right by the green made early morning and late-night toilet trips quick and stress-free, which we really appreciated. Overall, a cosy, well-equipped cottage in a perfect spot. We’d happily return and highly recommend The Snoozy Goose to anyone, especially those travelling

A very peaceful cottage located next to a great pub and a very short walk across a bridge to the railway station. Easy access to Newcastle. We took a uber back and that cost circa £30. Some great places to walk around and recommend the cafe across the road to the station for a good hearty breakfast too.

Beautiful cottage in the nice village of Ovingham - we had a great stay & would recommend to anyone. We had our dog with us & she loved it - secure small front garden & there is a brilliant footpath just across the grassed area. Hosts were very proactive & responsive - thank you so much for a lovely stay

Nice place. Easy to get to by train which helps as we don’t drive. Couple of little pubs which were good for grub. Dog friendly and some nice walks close by. Would stay again.

Check-in was easy and straightforward. The home exceeded my expectations for cleanliness and quality. The location was perfect, set in a lovely village with great walks right on the doorstep and two nice pubs within walking distance. Check-out at 10am was a little early for us, but still reasonable. Would definitely stay again!

Had a fantastic stay in a wonderful cottage in a very special part of the worlds greatest County - Northumberland. Great communication with the owner who was very obliging and very clear in their instructions - there is a difference between being cheap and offering great value for money and this property offers excellent value for money - I’d recommend again and again. The bed is so comfortable, the rooms immaculate and so well presented that you can tell the owners are so proud to offer it to us. The log burner belts out all the heat and more you’d ever need! If you’re lucky enough to find it available and ‘swithering’ on whether to book - don’t swither - book it - fantastic, peaceful, clean, modern, full of character and pure chill and relaxation.

Lovely village, close to Newcastle. Great pub about 50 yards away with excellent food. The location is very quiet. Would highly recommend.

This was a great, clean and good location cottage, but it would have been more desirable if the check in was earlier than 4 and later check out than 10, and the cost of extending the check in wasnt so expensive, but that is my only issue, no other problem at all.

“ Beautiful” Arrived early so parked opposite the cottage and took the dog for a walk around the river/orchard area. Plenty of parking spaces. Cottage looked amazing from outside and upon entering we were not disappointed. Very clean and spacious. Clutter free. Tea, coffee and milk available. We brought a few logs from home so had the fire going straight away plus the heating on. It was very cosy. Comfortable bed/plenty hot water for a bath. Really nice location. It’s a shame the pub is not dog friendly but that didn’t spoil the holiday as we took our own food/alcohol. We will be back. Thank you x

Lovely little cottage, cosy and making excellent use of the space. Spotlessly clean. Is a managed property by Host and Stay so a few extra hoops to jump through regarding deposit and insurance but good value overall.

Really lovely little cottage in perfect location. Every thing, bedding, crockery etc very high quality….really enjoyed the place. Just disappointed with wood burning stove as I enquired about whether there would be wood etc to set a fire on our first evening and was told there would be but there wasn’t

This cottage is well appointed. Our stay was spoiled by attitude of host company who scammed us out of further money once the Airbnb fee was paid. On calling them they were unhelpful and not able to provide a reason for the extra fee. We paid a top rate already to Airbnb and were not informed there would be other hidden charges. There was no choice but to pay. Other renters be warned. We feel any extra charges should be clearly listed in Airbnb’s costs We feel this is sharp practice and unnecessary
