Arriving a little early to the general location, we ended up paying £4.40 to park and wait 28 mins for the apartment to be ready - we were told cleaners were on site until 4pm check in and we could not arrive early. Then to see that the fridge shelf was dirty, the under sink cupboard dirty and the balcony floor and ledges filthy with bird droppings - I would expected this to have been cleaner.

Everything was right about the property, cleanliness , facilities etc. Location was great with a view of the abbey from the living room window, The property was located near the train station ,which meant we didn't have to walk up any hills getting back at the end of the day.

The property was clean inside but the small patio had bird droppings situated under the satellite dish. I mean a lot off bird droppings. If we had children we wouldn't have let them outside. The droppings should be cleaned up or move the dish or put bird spikes on it.

Amazing location! Walking distance to anything you might want in Whitby with an amazing view of the Abbey. The car parking space was super handy- a tight squeeze- but was very very useful. The apartment has everything you need and the beds are super comfy. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent location with a view of the Abbey from the lounge. Very short walk to the centre of Whitby. Clean, spacious, and modern apartment with tea, coffee, bedding, and towels provided.

A few reviews mentioned the parking space. It is small but most cars would be fine. We parked at the Marina, though, as it's only 5 minutes away and we arrived before check in.

Had a fabulous stay in this super apartment which has a lovely balcony with a view looking out at Whitby Abbey. It’s within just a few minutes walk from the Town Centre and it had a private parking space. In fact once we’d parked up we never used the car until it was time to leave. It was exactly as described, with nice decor great amenities and was a great place to use as a base to explore Whitby. Without doubt we’ll use this apartment again next time we visit!

Lovely little apartment superbly located for the city centre but far enough out to avoid any noise.
Very well sound proofed and looking straight out at the Abbey on the skyline. Never get sick of that view. Beautifully clean and fully equipped with everything you could want. Lots of information available in the apartment and on line brochure available. Remote but excellent customer service support.

Allocated parking space comes with the apartment but the parking is so tight! We don't have a huge car (BMW 3 series) and it was a struggle to get it into the space. Waste bins left outside of all of the properties facing the car parking area made it more difficult and I had to get out and move bins around before we could manouver in and out and it was still extremely tight. The car kept putting the automatic brakes on as it thought we were going to crash! This was the only downside to be honest and the owners can't do anything about the building or parking areas. Please be aware there are no lifts and the apartment is on the third floor which may be an issue for those with mobility issues.

Centrally located easy to walk to the town centre and for people who don’t drive it’s close to the railway station.
It also benefits from a parking space which is a bonus, although it’s a little tight for larger cars like SUV or People carriers but a Golf size hatchback it’s perfect.
Just a little note the skyline apartment is up a couple of flights of stairs and there’s no lift, it wouldn’t stop us visiting again but might not suit everyone.
We would definitely visit again maybe in the summer months but you can’t fault this accommodation for the price.

Cleanliness and aftercare. Unfortunately we were greeted with cleanliness issues. Glasses in the cupboard weren't cleaned, these had greasy finger prints all over them and lipstick (fresh) around the rim. Behind our bed we found not one, but at least 5 chocolate wrappers. When I say behind the bed, they weren't exactly hidden as I found them just by standing there. The sofa was stained, as were the pillows that adorned it. The bath filled with water as you showered no matter what you did with the plug hole. There were 2 cigarette butts on the ledge of the balcony too, not a massive detail but shows lack of attention to the upkeep of the place.

I've had a month long back and forth with the firm that run this apartment and they don't care in the slightest, just generic "your feedback is important bla bla bla". They have swept my complaint under the carpet.

While the apartment is well situated and could be really nice, we just felt like we were living in someone else's mess! We booked this for mine and my wife's wedding anniversary and have no good memories of our stay. We just dreaded going back to the apartment. And at £280 for the 2 nights, we are deeply disappointed at not having our concerns taken seriously

Great place to stay and good value. Only minor issues: the directions from the car park could be a little better - they say turn left and walk up and you'll see the accommodation; actually it needs to be turn left and immediately left again. And, as other people have said, the parking is very tight and if you have a long/wide car it would be very difficult. Having said that I would happily stay there again.

The apartment had a great view and the parking space was a great asset. The bed was very comfy and nice to have a makeup desk in each bedroom.

Unfortunately we were told at 8pm the night before we were to leave that check out time had changed to be 2 hours earlier than what was specified in the guidebook. The staff completely disregarded our concerns over this, even after we told them that this would affect activities we had booked for the morning. They just directed us to a help line which was closed until 9am the next day...

Additionally upon check in, the apartment was very difficult to find and even after calling for help, the advisor just kept telling me to 'go up the main driveway'. It was not obvious what a 'main driveway' was.

Overall, these points along with the apartment being a bit outdated with stained cushions and carpets, and no complimentary tea bags means we cannot rate any higher.

Really unfortunate as these seem to be really silly things that caused a let down!

Excellent apartment. It's in a great location - just a couple of minutes stroll from the town centre but very peaceful at night. Really comfortable beds in good size bedrooms. A lovely modern feel in all rooms and the added bonus of a fantastic view of Whitby Abbey. Would happily book again.

Parking is tricky - it's great to have an allocated space but it is quite difficult to manouvre into, you might need to move the neighbours wheelie bins to get in! But it's only a minor thing, and wouldn't put me off staying again.

Clean modern flat in superb location. Coffee machine, plus pods, milk & tea bags all provided. Parking not good: took a 320-point-turn to get my Volvo in the allotted space. Building entrance not obvious & parking place even more hidden. This could be clearer.
After booking, they demand more money, either for breakage insurance or a refundable deposit, without having made this clear in the blurb beforehand. They then take - after the rental ends - 14 days to return one’s cash (£200 in July 2024). Why - in this digital banking age? By then they have had a free 4 week loan & yet are still mercenary enough to charge a £10 “admin fee”.
Once in the flat you are bombarded with warnings, by text & by email, regarding the consequences of either late exit or damage to their property. Not relaxing. You are also required to empty your own bins. Down three flights of stairs.
But fab balcony & I did enjoy having a go of a Nespresso.

The entire apartment was spotlessly clean, with great decor and very well appointed with an allocated parking spot.

Nice and quiet, other than the Gulls, but it IS Whitby, so to be expected.

Do not like the "insurance policy", with a choice of either taking aout a non refundable £25 policy, or £200 policy that will refund all but £10, i feel this should be included in the price.
Parking spot is a little on the tight side, as its on a VERY narrow street, but with some maneuvering its accessible.
Bathroom could do with an extractor fan (or instructions on how to turn it on)
also the Digital guide supplied needs to be updated as it incorrectly lists the check out time as later than 10am

Just arrived home from a wonderful stay. Host and stay were very helpful and responsive throughout the run up to our trip, being very accommodating adding a night to our stay on the day! The apartment itself is beautiful, so clean, and in walkable distance of everything. You really get what you pay for and is 100% worth it. Would highly recommend if you’re looking to stay here.

We book this place for a long weekend away. The place itself is as described. It has a lovely balcony overlooking Whitby and you can even see Whitby abbey from there. Bedrooms were spacious and both had a very comfortable bed. The whole apartment was very well presented, although a little tired in places. Nothing that a lick of paint wouldn't fix. The location is absolutely perfect, its a short 5 minute work into Whitby and the harbour. There is no need to use your car once you arrive, everything is within walking distance. There is a huge park up the hill (next to Whitby museum) that's close to the apartment. Our daughter loved it. This place is ideal for a little family break or couples holiday. We would recommend and would stay here again.

Just returned from a lovely 3 night stay here - the location was ideal for exploring Whitby (5 minute walk to the harbour, great food options and Co-op supermarket) and the surrounding area.
The apartment was clean, tidy and well equipped with everything you’d need for a few days stay - the bed was also one of the comfiest I’ve slept in! I loved the little terrace and the view over Whitby to the abbey, it was a lovely place to sit (weather permitting!) with my morning coffee. There were also some lovely little touches, such as coffee pods and milk sachets in the fridge to get me started.
The communication before, during and after my trip was great, the directions and arrival info were clear and I found the digital guidebook, sent before my trip, really handy.
Thank you for a very relaxing and hassle free stay in your apartment, I’m already looking forward to my next visit to Whitby!

Great location very central to everything only a very short walk from the centre which was really handy, the property was immaculately clean and very spacious had everything we needed during our stay. coffee machine is a lovey touch, very well equipped kitchen. the balcony was lovely for enjoying the views of Whitby. The bed was so comfortable and the bath is nice to use after a long day of walking, with plenty of fluffy towels provided also. The guidebook provided through email was very informative during the stay ensured that everything was easy to find and the food recommendations were great.
excellent overall would definitely stay here again!

The parking is great asset of the property, however it was very tight to try and fit the car in may be difficult for people with a larger car.

The property was great, well equipped, neatly presented. It’s in a great location with a great view from the front room & balcony.
The parking spot allocated is a bit tight for larger vehicles.

Host & Stay issued conflicting advice regarding the check out time 10am & 12am.
To confirm it is 10am prompt.
Also the return of the £250 damages deposit was quoted as 7-10 and also 7-14 days.
My deposit was returned after 10 days, despite having to pay an additional admin fee. Personally I feel this is unfair, other deposits with other companies have been returned within 5 working days.

we liked the position of the property easy access to the town. Nice and modern property.

Getting the keys was a nightmare as given the wrong code. Took age for someone to answer the phone for us to get the correct code.
There was a smell of cooking oil as soon as we entered the apartment, on closer inspection realised the extractor fan needed a clean. Had a problem with the hot water, once the heating went off in the evening.

Our stay was 2 nights which totalled to 42 hours, due to check in being 4pm and check out being 10am. The guide book on the QR code in the apartment says checkout is 12pm. In this period of time we received 7 messages in total from Booking.com and Host and Stay, 6 of which were reminders that we had to check out at 10am. We are 2 adults that can read and understand from just 1 message. By the time we left we felt very unwelcome.

This is the second time we have stayed in a host & stay holiday let and I can’t fault them, this was a great location literally 2 minutes walk into town the property was very nicely laid out and the beds where super comfy we had everything we needed for a great weekend. We will certainly return here as love the balcony area but a little too cold to sit out this weekend. All in all I can’t fault host & stay no fuss check in and always contactable if any problems need sorting. A+++++

The location was good. It was good to have a car space. It was fairly clean though there were cobwebs in some of the windows and dust that clearly had not been removed for some time.

The car space is tiny but fortunately we had a small car; anyone with a big car would really struggle to get into it. The lock box was fiddly. The place was a bit shabby in places ~ for example, the side of the bathtub is loose. There were no bins in any of the rooms except the main room. There is no extractor fan in the bathroom, which we think needs to be rectified. "In short the regulations require: UK bathrooms must be ventilated with either a window or an extractor fan. Walking up three flights of stairs. Having to locate a mysterious key box in a mystery car park (we don’t drive and the place wasn’t obvious). Lack of someone to come and help us enter. Neighbours did the job instead. The door handles. They are a safety issue and both of us knocked our elbows. My injury is ongoing. Swollen painful. It finished me off for enjoying Whitby.

The location was brilliant

I had to clean the apartment, there was dust on all the bedside tables, the bathroom shelf and the widow sills. there was decorative vases which were covered in dust and there was toe nail clippings under the sofa which you could see from siting on the chair opposite. Dust on the tops of the bed headboards. There was paint scuffs and scrapes on the walls and the bath panel was loose and looked like it was going to fall off until I pushed it Bach on, i did report this immediately but had nothing in return.

Great property to stay in to explore Whitby. Easy to find and easy to access, parking slightly tight if you have a big car but great to have access to parking. Very close to main town. Property and balcony very quiet.
Property tidy and generally clean, could have done with some touch ups on paint and cobwebs removing, windows cleaning etc - but nothing major.
High end materials used in property and everything to a good standard.
Great to have a handbook of recommendations - we went to many places on the list and loved them.
Very comfy beds and amazing shower!
We loved our stay here to explore Whitby and surrounding areas. We would absolutely stay here again!

This apartment was perfect for our short break with two grandchildren. Everything was very clean, beds so comfortable and the centre of town was only a ten minute walk.

Parking space a little difficult to get in and out of and check out time is very early 10am. Wouldn’t stop be booking again but I do feel that check in at 4 and checkout at 10 is not ideal especially at this price point .

I would avoid staying here again because Host & Stay take a £250 deposit off you for 10 days (we were only there one night) and then charge £10 for doing it! The balcony was filthy when we arrived and as we wanted to use it we had to spend 30 minutes cleaning it.

Size/awkwardness of parking space - horrendous. Should be a warning about it as a lot of people now have larger cars. A welcome ‘bag’ woukd have been appropriate for the price - proper milk, biscuits, tea bags etc.

Great place, perfect location for the centre of Whitby! We did have issues with parking at the place as we were in a transporter van and the parking space has a height restriction but this wasn’t mentioned until we arrived and saw! We were able to park on the street a short walk away with a free parking pass so not the end of the world but we would have gone in another car if we had known!

We unfortunately couldn't use the kitchen facilities and were unable to cook. On arrival the cleaners had to return to remove spilt sour milk from the fridge and clean the freezer. The leftover smell was too bad to store food so we therefore didn't use the kitchen.

Quick and easy to use.

We had an allocated parking space under the building we stayed in. However, the space wasn't big enough for our car and because we have a 4x4 our car wouldn't fit under the RSJ which ran across the top of the parking space. We contacted the hosts, and their reply was to park in a public car park. This we didn't want to do, as accommodation with parking on site was important to us, hence why we booked the accommodation with an allocated parking space. Unfortunately, they were unable to help us and asked if we had read the guidelines, which we had and there was no mention of height restrictions or that the spaces were tight/small. They told us that if we parked in another space on site that they would not be responsible if we received a parking ticket! So not helpful in that respect. The apartment was lovely, clean and spacious. Very well equipped and nice and warm. The only let down was the parking!

The location was very good for walking to the seafront (5 minutes) and the rooftop terrace was great to view the city. The kitchen was very well equipped with supplies of coffee, tea, cooking oils, salt, pepper etc.

As others have said you can't rely on getting a car into the allocated parking space unless it is very small. They did provide a parking permit for the duration of our stay but that meant we had to drop off our luggage at the property and then drive to a location 10 minutes walk away to park the car. As we didn't use the car during our stay this wasn't a big problem.

A description of how to find the apartment would have made it easier to get there. Also, a warning about how tight the car parking is. Previous reviews mentioned it but it really is not easy to park in the space allocated under the building.

In addition, both bedrooms were of an equal size and standard. It was great to have the terrace with a view of Whitby Abbey, even if it was rainng!

the shower in the bath worked fine but there were no handrails to assist an older person (i am 70) climb in and out of the bath. Also the showerscreen was not fixed and it is possible to fall sideways through it. A manual for the microwave and oven would have been useful.

We stayed at the skyline apartment in Whitby (2 adults and our 9 year old). Apartment was clean, comfortable and very well stocked. The location is great and we were able to walk everywhere, we did not use our car all week. Whitby was super busy and we found finding places to eat a bit of a challenge so I would recommend booking if you like the look of somewhere. We had a takeaway from Passage to India near the train station which we were able to walk back to the apartment before it went cold, and that was lovely.

This apartment is lovely and in a great location with around a 10 min walk to the harbour. The styling of the apartment was gorgeous and has made me want to redecorate my whole house! The view from the balcony was amazing and such a nice added bonus. The only thing for us was that the check in wasn’t until 3pm and check out was at 10am.. it did feel like either check in could have been a little bit earlier or alternatively check out could be at 11 or 11:30. I appreciate that the apartment has to be cleaned between stays but I can’t imagine it takes 5 hours (between 10am and 3pm) to clean. Possibly to do with COVID but that was the only thing that I could provide feed back on as otherwise a really great apartment and a lovely stay!
