- The location is amazing! Couldn't be better. - The flat itself is really beautiful! But it could do with repainting/ freshening up. - The communication related to late checkout was poor but all other communication was great and really friendly. - It was sparsely equipped, there was only 30ml shower gel/ only two mugs/ no washing up liquid/ only one coffee for the coffee machine (really good coffee machine though). Overall I would recommend! It's a lovely flat in the perfect location and Whitby is incredible.

Cosy yet contemporary apartment right in the centre of everything. Super clean & modern, perfect to come home to after a day on the beach & arcades. Comms from the hosts were first class, pre-empted anything i might need, thank you.

We had a really lovely stay. Very central and perfect for exploring all of Whitby. The apartment was a perfect size for the two of us and our dog. We felt right at home, had everything we needed. It was clean and nicely decorated. I would definitely recommend and would love to stay there longer next time. Great value for money too.

Don’t stay here. This apartment was filthy. My partner and I came to stay for one night. The main entrance was unclean and smelled of severe damp. We entered the flat to find disgusting floors, bins that hadn’t been emptied from the previous guests, bodily fluids and pubic hairs in the unchanged bed, a disgustingly dirty bathroom, SO much dust and a floor that hasn’t been hoovered for months. We contacted the host who said they could arrange a re-clean “tomorrow” which was the day we were leaving. We spent the night searching for alternative accommodation but in the end, had to turn the linens inside out and stay. Our “relaxing, fun” night away was replaced with a stressful one. The hosts were initially responsive but have since gone radio silent regarding my complaint. If you book with Host and Stay, you get hounded before your stay with calls and emails asking you if you want to pay for an early check in/ complete check in forms etc. Just not the usual Airbnb experience. Don’t book.

The apartment is perfectly situated in the centre of Whitby, easily accessed and with great facilities. The check-in process was clearly explained and easy to use, and we were pleased with the modern furnishings.

Pros- Fantastic central location with excellent views across the bridge. Modern nicely decorated flat. Perfect size for 2. Parking permit provided- see below Provided dishwasher tablets, black bags & cleaning cloth. Cons- Uncomfortable bed.. sinks on either side with a lump in the middle where been slept on less. Noisy toilet and water system. Cleanliness could be a bit better, pot drawer full of crumbs/food and skirtings dusty. On street permit provided however does not mention how difficult it is to find a space or that there are very limited close to location (due to pedestrianised) and if used are on main busy street. This is not a reflection on the accommodation however due to the location, the noise of the seagulls is extreme and will disturb sleep-take earplugs!

Didn’t really meet expectations, the main problem was the issue with the water, every time you used the tap, flushed the toilet or used the shower it made a really loud drilling type noise. I saw this on a review a few months ago so can see it hasn’t been fixed. We prepared for the noise outside with it being central and on a bank holiday, however the worst bit was noise from upstairs overnight. There was an issue with the front door not locking behind us that other guests in the apartment complex highlighted to us, which was a concern as it is in a busy / rowdy ish area - also made worse by someone throwing up right outside the front door. Also thought the £50 cleaning fee was quite steep especially to say it wasn’t exceptionally clean, some surfaces were dusty, the floors near the sofa hadn’t been swept and the furniture had some stains on. It’s decorated nice and the bed was comfy, the location is great for exploring Whitby it’s just a shame it could do with some maintenance

Overall a good stay. The flat was located right in the centre of Whitby so it was a great location. There was a lot to do in the area and the views were perfect for people watching. The flat was clean and tidy and a fair size. There was a good sized television with access to all streaming apps and 3veruthing you need for self catering. The CO-OP was a 10 minute walk so again perfect for self catering. We were concerned about noise, as the the front of the flat is in a busy area of Whitby by the bridge, but the bedroom is located at the back so it was not a problem at all. We slept well. The host left a few things such as dishwasher tablets, towels and toiletries to make the stay more comfortable. A few negatives were that the flat had some wear and tear. The floor in the bedroom is damaged and could do with being replaced. We couldnt get thevtowel rail in the bedroom to work, even after watching the handy video.

Perfect place to stay. Close to all attractions, restaurants and bars as well as parking. Very handy having the parking permits available when we checked in. Everything was clean and tidy. Only thing I would add is to have some blankets/throws available but that’s just me being picky and I’ll bring one with me next time. Thank you for everything!

fabulous apartment clean well equipped and very central. only minor issue was we were given the address as no 2 ans it said 2a on the door which caused slight confusion when we arrived but apart from that small details everything was great

Perfect location, right in the middle of Whitby and easy to self check in. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. Very noisy apartment block, thin walls and creaky stairs. The bathroom was filthy when we arrived and it didn’t seem to have been cleaned very well, barely any toilet roll either, it’s a shame to say you can’t check in until 4pm and check out is 10am next morning but didn’t seem to be cleaned in that 6 hour gap. To be honest I don’t think it is worth the money, especially with the waiver on top but as they accepted pets we were able to bring the dog.

Myself and my parenter booked this stay as the advertising description and photographs looked beautiful. However this was not the case, the entrance smelt damp, the door handle was loose. Cleanliness of the rooms was poor with hairs on the floors, dirt on the inside windows and the sofa and sofa pillows were covered in marks and stains. The floorboards did not meet through the entrie flat, if you have a little one and wish to stay here I would advise not. When speaking to the hosts we received a fast response but no outcome only advice that they would send someone round to look at the property- a voicemail was left later in the day after we had vacated, advising they would come by and would also send a link to reply to, this didn't happen. Finally on our first night upstairs we're drilling til 1am, and started again at 6am, no sleep was had. We messaged the hosts that morning and advised we wouldn't be staying a second night. A full refund has been requested.

Lovely decor and an amazing location in the heart of Whitby. Very clean except for a couple of cups and plates that needed another wash. Lovely and warm and modern inside, very easy to check in and good communication. The only downside was that the walls are very thin so noises from upstairs flat and hallway were quite audible.

The apartment was well furnished and in a great location and the hosts were very responsive. Slightly confused why there was a hair dryer box with no hair dryer in and is worth noting the down stairs door doesn’t lock at all so does feel a little unsafe at times - aside from that the apartment was of a decent quality. Unfortunately the apartment was extremely dirty on our arrival, with hair and wrappers on the floor, dirt on surfaces such as the lights and also a lot of dust / dirt on the floor and in the corners etc of the apartment. The tooth brush holder and soap dish were also I cleaned with brown water in. All skirting boards etc were almost grey with dust. the hosts kindly organised a reclean yet the apartment was still dirty after this. Really disappointed in this as it is a little unpleasant living in another persons dust / hair / etc for a week. To the point when we put our belongings down, they were then covered in layers of dirt on the areas they had been placed down.

The location couldn’t be better. The flat was very clean when we arrived and the check in instructions were very clear. My only complaint was that the amenities included a hairdryer, but we couldn’t find this anywhere. Would 100% recommend.

I cannot fault the flat at all. Beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable, and had everything I needed. Also in a superb location. Unfortunately, there were a few issues during my stay, including a power cut, but they were not the fault of Host & Stay. They did cause me to leave early however. Having said that, this will be the place I book for any future trips to Whitby - without hesitation.

Pros - The location is very central and made it easy to pop back for a rest after periods of exploring - The decoration was very modern and simple which was nice - The kitchen was well equipped and the hair dryer was powerful - The shower was spacious, powerful and warmed up quickly Cons - The most frustrating part of using this company was the refundable security deposit of £250 or a non refundable £25 waiver. The large security deposit forces you to opt for the £25 fee in fear of losing such a large amount of money, especially as there are many issues in the apartment (these will be listed below) which could be blamed on a guest. - There were multiple snags in the apartment, the floorboards in the bathroom were separated, the kick boards in the kitchen were coming away from the cabinets, there were marks on the walls, the bed frame was broken, a part of the bannister in the hallway kept falling off and the front door to the building to the street was unlocked and could be accessed by anyone - The apartment wasn’t the cleanest, there was dog hair on the sofa which transferred onto our clothes, under the bed was filthy, the bedding and towels did not smell fresh, they smelt like cooking, which was very off putting - The hallway was covered in spiders and there were a few in the apartment too - The heating took a while to warm up as there were only two electrical heaters which wasn’t ideal for a trip in October - The noise from the upstairs guests was a little disturbing, you could hear every footstep and movement

A lovely little apartment that was exactly as listed. The location was fantastic for a 3 day stay in Whitby, from the kitchen window you can see part of the Harbour and the Abbey. Only a ten minute walk to the beach. Check in/out was easy and convenient and the host was always quick to reply to any of our queries before our visit. Would definitely recommend and stay again, thank you

Fantastic location, on the flat by harbour side with a view of the swing bridge. Great communications with the host. With front door code and key safe access to the flat door, couldn't be easier to gain access to a well designed and thought out accommodation which was well kept and very clean.

A superb place to stay. Location couldn't have been more perfect. Really clean and modern - looks like it has just been refurbished. Communication with the company was also great - they were in regular contact and fixed a very minor issue on the day. Also really great to get parking included which was simple to use. Can't fault this place and looking to return!
