Me and my family had 3 nights here and really enjoyed it the place was one of the best air b and b’s we have stayed in high end finishings, kitchen had everything we needed, shower was great in the en-suite, managed to use the fire which was nice in the evenings just have to google the remote and we got the instructions easy, the WiFi was really good no issues, I would say there’s one thing that stops it from being the perfect getaway I could do with a hot tub as the decking is massive and could easily have one round the Side of it, would highly recommend staying here with family

Amazing property with beautiful scenery. The lodge has everything you could possibly need. Unfortunately we couldn’t get the log burner to work even with hours of reading manuals and youtube. Underfloor heating managed to make up for the warm cosy feeling. Also had a bath which was a nice surprise.

Great park. Very clean and peaceful. Chalet was clean and tidy with lots of space and nice outdoor area. Lacked a house book with instructions on how to start the gas fire so i had to download a manual online. Also no instructions for the cooker/heating system and the host never replied to an email i sent. Not ideal.

We stayed here for a long weekend for my husband’s 50th, a lovely lodge set in private grounds and very peaceful and somewhere we could bring our dog along. The park was great for walking our dog at 7am and felt very safe on my own. The lodge was well equipped with everything you’d need for a stay, really modern bathrooms and well set out throughout, underfloor heating as well. We even got the fire working while we were there, which on previous reviews this didn’t look to be the case for others.

Lodge was lovely. I asked if there was a cot and a high chair and got told there wasn’t. Had to go and buy both and opened the cupboard when I arrive and both were there. We turn up late as got stuck in traffic. Satnav took us to the road before the site. After driving past in the dark we couldn’t see the sign at first as it is only visible from one direction as it’s in the bush. Location is very pretty but could do with a little park for the kids.

Ladycross plantation is a very nice site, great dog field and woodland walks. We stayed at Simon Howe booked via airb&b. Considering you pay an added cleaning fee it was very disappointing. I had to clean the floors and wash the bedding on arrival as we found someones worn pjs in the bed and the floors had sticky stains. The windows had sticky hand marks on them and the outside furniture is filthy. We had no heating for 24hours until maintenance came to fix it. We were told the fire had not worked since 2023, although still advertised in air b&b as a property feature. Although we stayed in May evenings and mornings dropped cold. We payed over £500 for 3 nights and have not been offered a refund for cleaning the property for them. I wouldn't book Simon Howe again and would check reviews for the others before booking. Shame could be a great spot. Host and stay communications were polite but never offered to bring clean bedding or even remove the last guests pjs.

The Lodge itself was lovely and spacious however the non functioning heating system meant the lodge was too cold to stay in for even 1 night. We checked out after 3 hours. Fix the heating and it would be perfect.

A really well appointed lodge on a beautiful, serene site. The kitchen was probably the best equipped of any place we've stayed and the space was brilliant. The external decking area looking through the trees was a huge bonus. The neighbouring lodges were well spaced and we never felt our privacy was invaded. We'll definitely be returning to this place.

The accommodation was very clean and had everything you need for a home-from-home stay. The location was excellent and is ideal for families, with walks close by. If you have a dog, this is even better, with Whitby and Sandsend only a five-minute drive away. The local pub was very accommodating and friendly, making it an excellent place to stay.

Lovely lodge in lovely place. Feel so peaceful especially during Xmas time. The lodge is very spacious, have all you need in the kitchen. Very bright in lounge and in the kitchen which is excellent. Sofas could be changed as they proper worn out. Loads of books which we used for kids. Excellent WiFi speed as we used it while we were working for 2 days. The only thing which upset us was that the fire place which was on pictures didn’t work. They could at least tell us that this is not working, because it was one of the reasons we booked this place. Apart from that I do recommend this lodge to anyone 😊 We have had a great time.

We have used this site numerous times. However, this was our first time in a lodge and it won’t be our last. We loved our stay in the Simon Lowe lodge. So peaceful and comfortable. Everything you need and a wee bit more. We had a couple of wee issues that were quickly dealt with by host & stay, but issues that shouldn’t really have happened to be honest. Apart from that, the property itself needs a little TLC due to use. One disappointment was the fire feature, I understand it has not been in working order for some time, but even though it’s not itemised it’s part of the images. once the fireplace is back up and running I’m sure the lodge will be back to its full awesomeness. The lodge was toasty warm even without the fire on. We will be back as there’s nothing better than a visit to Whitby and this wonderful setting to recharge. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Even the dog was chilled !!

We have a lovely stay, really nice clean and tidy lodge. Only downside was the initial confusion from host about number of dogs staying. Throughout the booking i stated we would be taking two dogs. However, we received a message the day before stating that only one dog is allowed to stay. I replied and the issue was resolved and we took two dogs. We were also disappointed the log fire didn’t work. Apart from that it was a lovely stay and we could book again.

The lodge was excellent and the location was just what we wanted. The only downfall was the lodge alarm went off at 06:00 in the morning and the code had not been given to us! We tried calling Host and Stay but had to call for over 30 minutes before someone answered, they then said they would get back to us with the alarm code. We waited 5 minutes and they did call back but gave us an incorrect alarm code. They then asked us to contact the site to get the correct code! The site arrived after 45 minutes and reset the alarm. I don’t think we were flavour of the month with the neighbours! Other than the alarm and a few minor niggles we LOVED IT!!!!

Thank you for our peaceful and pleasant stay. It was fab to be lost in the woods away from the normal hustle and bustle of life. Cabin had everything you needed for the stay. Comfortable beds, and TV that had all channels and on demand applications. Thank you

We did have a huge worry the day prior to or stay. we were initially told we were allowed 2 dogs to be told the day before arrival that we could only take 1 dog. this panicked me but luckily the owner of the site sorted out the issue and it was fine. but please make sure you double check before you go

Sadly had to contact Host & Stay and sent them pictures of uncleaned glass & touch points. Kitchen was not clean, cupboards had visible marks all over, oven was dirty, bin had drip marks down it. Splash back area was all marked. Placemat had dried in egg on it. Bedroom was really dusty all along skirting. Check the top of the bathroom cabinet as dust was so think you could write in it. Chips on plates in kitchen. Paint work could be doing with a refresh. Cupboard for cleaning at the front door really smells - not very nice. Cleaner cane out and cleaned windows of all the dirty finger mark's from who had stayed previously, wiped touch points but still did not clean oven or bin or dust. Very poor.

The Lodge is set on a wonderful site. Easy to find. The Lodge is well equipped. Many a hot tub would have been even better as we saw there was space for one. A little pricey for 4 nights but not so bad split with other guests. Very open and lots of room.

Until 8 years ago, my parents had a seasonal pitch at Ladycross. It was lovely to return this weekend to see what a great job has been done of the lodges. The whole site remains peaceful and unspoilt, the perfect place to relax and unwind. The lodge itself is one of the best I've stayed in. Spacious, with lots of natural light. Although the neighbours are nearby, the lodges are not overlooked and feel private. There was a good choice of essentials in the kitchen and bathroom - no need to pack washing up liquid and hand soap etc, as it was all provided. Typically, it was unseasonably warm for October, so we didn't use the log burner to full affect, but I couldn't think of anything nicer than to cosy up in front of it on a chilly evening. My only slight gripe is the check-in and check-out times. 4pm and 10am seem quite late/early. I appreciate the work involved in turning the lodges round, but 3pm and 11am would be a little more palatable. We will definitely book again

Simon Howe Lodge is the perfect home from home, it’s exactly as pictured, in a beautiful surrounding with a lovely walk around the grounds and less than 10 minute drive to Whitby centre. It’s the most well equipped lodge we’ve ever stayed in, it has everything you could possibly need unlike other places we’ve stayed before! Would 100% recommend to anyone.

Everything was spotless, well appointed, with everything we needed for our stay. The only complaint is that an amount of £250 deposit was removed from our account and we were charged £10 (non refundable) for the privilege. I have never come across this before and it felt penny pinching considering how much we paid for the accommodation.

We had a perfect stay. The location couldn’t be better as the lodge is surrounded by trees and very well-placed for trips to the coast. The area was really peaceful and full of wildlife, we saw a deer on our first morning and chickens, hares and toads around the site. The lodge had everything we needed and the enclosed communal field on the site was great for our dog to run around in.

Lovely lodge. The "log burner" is a gas fire (very realistic though) it wouldn't light when we arrived but spoke with Host and Stay who contacted owner who sent somebody to sort it whilst we were out on day 2. Beds were very comfortable, we had a lovely stay. I don't agree with the extra "insurance" fee that Host and Stay ask for, we have stayed in dozens of air b n bs and have never been asked for this. I would recommend the lodge, there were 4 adults in our group and we were very comfortable.

Stunning property, would love to come back again. Great location for access to surrounding areas. The only slight let down is the property wasn’t thoroughly cleaned throughout, minimal things like dust, hairs, dirty mirrors/hob etc which for what we’ve paid could have been avoided. Would still strongly recommend.

What a beautiful lodge well Equipped! Loved loved it. EXCEPT THE HUMAN AND DOG HAIR ON THE BED!! Also the heating woke us up every morning! Not sure what was wrong with it. It came from the loft. We were refunded £30 for this which I thought was so unfair. We would have loved to have gone back but we won’t as I don’t think they handled our complaint fairly. For personal reasons this break was so important for RR. I felt it was spoilt because of these issues we had.

Location was beautiful, lodge was laid out nice. Awful smell in the main bathroom of sewage which we weren’t made aware of. Stiff bath tap which we were made aware of. Security of location was great and ideal for local walks or to Whitby. Quite a late check in considering it’s made such an early check out when you feel rushed to get out by 10am. Was sent a text at 9am with a fairly to the point text making sure we were out on time. Over all lovely place that’s pet friendly with a homely feel.

What a brilliant home away from home. I did not want to leave! Brilliant location, you can drive to Whitby within 10 minutes! Scarborough is also an easy 40 minute drive. And the walks and nature are all on your doorstep (literally!!!). The whole stay was like being in heaven. Loved every minute. Will return!

We had a fabulous stay at Simon Howe Lodge. The lodge is spacious and in a wonderful setting in woodland. Facilities in the lodge are good everything you could need, a stylish home away from home. You will see some small wildlife around the lodge , we saw a Hedgehog and Hare as well as the chickens that wander around. The park is a great location for Whitby and other parts of the North Yorkshire coastline. We would highly recommend a stay.

The lodge is in a natural environment surrounded by trees. Inside is modern and spacious. We particularly enjoyed the wooden deck and the high ceiling in the sitting area. It’s really relaxing to have your coffee and breakfast sitting at such a tranquil place in the sun. Highly recommended!

A very comfortable lodge set in a beautiful location. The lodge provides everything you need for a comfortable stay with family and pets. Spacious open plan living area with good sized bedrooms. We were welcomed with a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. The communication was great throughout the trip and we had no problems in checking in and out. There are a numberif places to visit nearby. The hosts are friendly and very responsive. Highly recommended!

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of November to celebrate a birthday and anniversary. The location is beautiful. The lodge was exactly as described, and extremely comfortable. It was clean and welcoming. We made use of wonderful gas log burner which was perfect due to the cold temperatures outside. It was so cosy!! The check in process was very straightforward and we got a warm welcome. We would definitely like to return in the spring and would also recommend to family/friends.

This place was an absolute gem! The lodge is set within a very peaceful area surrounded by trees and would suit anyone looking for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The Lady Cross site is quite remote and I would say that having a car is essential if you're wanting to go off an explore. But with that remoteness comes tranquility! The lodge is very well stocked and feels really cosy despite being a really good size. The roaming chickens in the morning were also a lovely addition. Our stay here was wonderful and I'm sure we'll be back in the future.

My wife and I stayed at the Simon Howe lodge for a long weekend and I must say this was one of the most comfortable and enjoyable places we have ever stayed. The lodge had everything and I could not find any faults whatsoever. The property was very clean, excellent WIFI, Smart TV, very comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms and the kitchen was equipped with everything you need. We used this property as a base to explore the local area. I would highly recommend staying here if you wanted to visit Whitby. It was perfect!

Had a lovely time with close friends to see in my 25th birthday. Amenities were spot on it felt really homely and the site felt very secure. There was a few insects keeping us company but considering the lodge is woodland based, we where in their habitat! 😆 would definitely recommend and I imagine would be beautiful in all seasons!! Would love to see this lodge in the snow!

A beautiful Lodge in a very peaceful spot. Beautiful woodland walks lots of nesting boxes...we loved watching the blue tits to and fro’ ing. The Lodge itself was well equipped spacious and comfortable for two couples. We walked to Egton...about two miles away and had a lovely afternoon in the sunshine at The Witching Post including a nice meal. We took a taxi to Whitby which is beautiful. A great spot to discover the North Yorkshire Coast
