Good location, clear easy directions (grey doors now, not blue, which threw us for a few minutes) into the accommodation. Parking under-spaces could be bigger, but our fault in a big car (normal sized vehicles would be fine). Once upstairs, all was good. Bed was the comfiest ever, after our daily walks, was most welcomed. Really proactive host, with listings for stuff to do and where to go. Will use again

This is the second time we have been to seal watch and would definitely return. Great apartment lovely views over the harbour and estuary. Very clean and spacious. 15 minute walk into. the centre of Whitby.

the location was perfect, as well that we were able to park our car. a short walk away from the center whitby. it was relaxed and everything that we needed was there. sadly it was dirty (floor, hair towel, oven plates) but I texted that Charlie and he responded very good and as we had a dog with us it was okay with the floor. to get into the flat it is complicated as the description is not right. the doors are grey and there are many keys to put in the keysafe😂😂 but it was still very good there

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Apartment was lovely, very cosy and homely and well equipped. Lovely views over the river. Very pleasant walk into nearby Whitby. Only glitch was in the apartment description. Description indicated a dvd player and we had taken dvd games to play in the evenings rather than just watch TV. Unfortunately there was no dvd player. Emailed Host and Stay, who responded very quickly, and organised with the housekeeper to bring a dvd player to the apartment the following evening. We felt the apartment information should have been updated to reflect the current apartment contents, but nevertheless the issue was resolved quickly. Would not hesitate to book this apartment again.

Seal Watch is a really lovely apartment with the added bonus of its own secure parking (very hard to come by in Whitby!) Located close enough to the town to walk in within a few minutes but far out enough to be peaceful as you’re not right in the centre. Lovely views from all windows. Very well equipped, clean, and nicely decorated. We have felt right at home instantly both times we’ve rented this apartment. We’ll definitely be booking again in future, thanks for having us!

Seal Watch is on the 3rd floor (with a lift) boasting amazing views over the estuary and harbour. The secure underground car park is a real bonus, especially as parking can be both at a premium and expensive in Whitby. The flat had lovely decor and was really a home from home, with very comfortable beds. I'd suggest one of the nicest we'd ever stayed in. Location was perfect. Very peaceful surroundings with a refreshing and scenic 15-20 minute walk alongside the estuary into town. From the Quay outside the accommodation, you can also view Whitby Abbey on the hill. Whitby itself is always a joy to visit and this time was really nice to discover new places. The 20 min boat ride offered possibly the best value for money of our trip. Magpie Cafe is also a must, but I'd suggest booking! Also worth a visit are Sherlocks Coffee Shop (the one in town), Mr Coopers Coffee Shop and Cosa Nostra. A thoroughly enjoyable short stay in a really nice accommodation. Hope to return again!

Lovely apartment with a great view. Spacious and comfortable. A short walk into the town and to the sea front and shops. Check in was ok once we realised the instructions hadn't been updated and we were actually looking for grey doors not blue! Also there were many lockboxes so it would be handy if they were labelled in some way. We were disappointed by the cleanliness of the apartment but overall a wonderful stay.

The appartement was clean and had everything we needed, and the location is very good being a 10 minute walk to the town centre. We did have a minor issue, couldn't find the iron, but the owners were very good and brought us one the following day. Overall we had a lovely comfortable stay.

Location, location, location as the saying goes! Private parking through locked gates in Whitby is a bonus and a rare find! immaculate property,a must for me is a comfortable bed! Deep mattress, gorgeous bed linen and towels too! Stunning window seat with river views perfect for people watching! Tea bags and coffee in jars and dog biscuits! nice touch! Definitely stay here again! Only negative the heating,the guide book describes a different stytem! The heating is digital n did take some fighting out! Apart from that we found somewhere special that's dog friendly! 👍

I am very unhappy with our stay at Seal Watch Apartment, considering how expensive stay is here. The Shower wouldn't work- I messaged the Air B&B host- this wasn't responded to. I'm unsure if this was a mistake. Instead , we washed in the Bath. After this I walked around the apartment & my feet soon became black underneath with dirt. I can only assume that floors are not mopped down. I tried to put a lamp on in the 2 singles bedroom & this didn't work, so I had to plug a lamp in from the main bedroom. When I moved the bed to unplug the non-working lamp there were tissues & dirt under the bed. In the kitchen none of the plug sockets worked. We tested this to see if it was just the appliances, but when we plugged the kettle into the plug socket in the hallway, it worked! We had to use this socket as a workaround for the toaster & kettle for the entire stay. Also the extractor fan in the kitchen didn't work. I sent a message to the host but maintenance did not come before our departure.

The apartment block was really quiet and well maintained. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. It was a perfect location, with a great view of the river Esk. And a short walk to the centre of Whitby. Lots of things to do, and places to eat and drink. Would definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at Seal Watch… it definitely lived up to it’s name, as on the morning of us checking out 2 seals 🦭 appeared outside our window, scouting for a meal 🐟 We learned 2 new bird species, Redshanks and Turnstones, right on the jetty outside the apartment! The hosts were very responsive with anything that was asked of, a xmas tree and decorations was a lovely surprise, plus music and goodies! We enjoyed the 10 min walk into town, with plenty to see and do, even joined in the Boxing Day Dip 🥶 not to be missed traditional spectacle, and atmosphere!

Great location only an 10 Minute walk to the centre of Whitby and lovely view over the harbour, you could also see the sea. The apartment was a good size for us and our 2 dogs. It was clean and tidy and we would stay again the parking was a bonus it made everything so easy without having to worry about our car.

Perfect location, lovely views,nice walk into the centre of Whitby Apartment itself as described ,nicely decorated,comfortable furnishings. Kitchen well equipped. Noted a small tear in a dining chair on arrival, would have been good to be made aware of this prior as think we would have been blamed for it and lost the damage deposit we had paid otherwise. Main bedroom was nice but lots of dust and fluff under the bed despite it being a metal frame and easy to clean under. Asked the host re replacing feather pillows and was advised they would ask the team to deal with it- no further contact from anyone following this which was disappointing. Damp smell in the second bedroom throughout our stay.Also one of the clean towels that had been left in that room was dirty and smelly. Bathroom had lots of mould on the ceiling,walls and floor.Extractor fan did nothing and heater dirty.Shower screen non functioning. Window in living area opened by itself, had to do makeshift repair to close

Excellent place to stay, short walk to the main centre of Whitby or you could stay nearby, plenty of pubs and restaurants close by to eat at. Nice clean apartment with everything you could possibly need for a nice relaxing break. We will definitely be back.

Lovely apartment, great and quiet location in easy walking distance of town. Great to have own dedicated parking space in the garage. Views of the harbour were lovely the double bedroom and living Room. There is a lift,which was a bonus for our elderly mum was with us. Away from the hustle and bustle of town, but close enough to walk in. Our mum is 82 and has arthritis in her hip, but loved the walk into town and back each day, as in on the flat. Overall, a lovely place to stay

All very good and a great location, easy walk into the centre and secure underground car parking included. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because of a few niggly things. The bed in the master bedroom was quite small for two people (probably only a standard double). The mattress was terrible and practically bent in half when you lay on it. The sheets kept coming off the bed, there was no toilet roll, no sponge to wash up with and no cooking oil. Also, I tried to take the bins out to the main bins outside but they were located behind a locked door with a code on it. The code was not provided and when I called up to ask for it, nobody knew it. So couldn’t take the bins out. These are small things really and overall a good stay, would book again.

Communication with the host and check in was easy, and the location of the flat is pretty good as well. It is in a quiet area and we were able to walk everywhere in Whitby that we wanted to go. Unfortunately, that is where the positives ended. The cleanliness of the flat, especially for COVID times, was pretty poor. The floor wasn’t properly cleaned, there was hair left in the bathroom, and the bedsheets were dusty and hairy as well (not to mention of very cheap quality). The pots and utensils supplied were also of cheap quality and were dirty, so we had to wash everything up before using it. No store cupboard essentials were provided for cooking, and only one roll of loo paper and the end of a roll of paper towel were left, meaning we had to go out and buy our own as soon as we arrived. The TV was unwatchable on some channels due to a scrambled signal and some catch up TV requires a PIN code, meaning it can’t be watched - the host’s solution was just to watch it on your own device. The mattress in the master bedroom was completely broken and had no support, resulting in uncomfortable sleep. The doors in the flat are extremely loud and creaky, meaning that it was impossible to open the bedroom door without waking the other person. At the end of the stay, you are also expected to strip the beds, clean the counters and take out the bins (though no code was provided to actually do so). Surely a professional cleaning service should be responsible, rather than the guests - especially at the nightly rate being charged? Overall, disappointing and not worth staying at.

A good place to base a stay in Whitby. About 5-10 minutes' walk from the Old Town along a fairly flat road, though the slope up to Spital Bridge can be treacherous. The views over the private marina are lovely, but light sleepers may beware of the noisy gulls. The flat itself is comfortable, the beds are very soft and warm.

This is a lovely apartment within walking distance from Whitby centre. It is very clean and tidy with good facilities and, has a locked garage with allocated slot. There are two very comfortable, spacious bedrooms and a large bathroom. The apartment also had Sky television and internet access.

Absolutely perfect location, close to the local town but far enough to enjoy the benefits of free parking! Waking up to a harbour view was great, and suitable for all ages as 3rd floor apartment with a lift (we had our 9 month old with us) Would definitely stay again!
