Apartment is clean and comfortable, the location is good, everything we needed was provided, the beds were very comfortable.

All the steps to the apartment, five flights of stairs with luggage and shopping was exhausting. Some of the cups and glasses weren't cleaned properly. No flexibility on checking in any earlier or just retrieving the scratch card so we could park up.

However after the first day they did send someone to attend to the shower who ignored the sodden towels in the floor used to mop up the flood when they should have replaced them. Then it flooded again- so that after a shower it all poured out of the door.
The coffee maker was not specified but it was one of those pod machines with two pods provided.
I asked for a cafetière on the first day and they basically said they didn’t have one. The bottle opener was never replaced even though I raised this in the first day.

This property and facilities cannot by any stretch of the imagination be called ‘luxury’. It’s at the end of the season and had tired feel about it. The amount of stairs leading to the apartment and the times to enter and vacate property 4pm to enter (unless you want to pay an excessive fee!)and 10am to leave !!

6 of us stayed in this apartment and overall it was a fabulous stay. Bedrooms were lovely, open plan kitchen/diner/living room spacious & awesome views of the sea. 3 separate bathrooms. Slight issue with hot water running out mid shower during 3rd person showering but left it a while and it did warm up again. Very well kitted out. Could do with a mirror in the en-suite bedroom at the front of the property for drying hair but that’s a minor niggle. Very happy with our stay and would definitely stay again.

Apartment was excellent, fabulous views from the living room looking onto the seafront and just a short walk down into Whitby (about 10 mins).
The beds were very comfortable and with 5 of us staying there the 3 toilets/bathrooms were greatly appreciated.
The only negatives were the electric hob not functioning properly (I noticed this had been pointed out on a previous review by another guest) and the apartment didn't have a toaster.
Otherwise everything else was excellent, showers were decent and electric heaters soon warmed up the rooms.
Would definitely stay here again

All clean, though bedrooms and showers smelt a bit stale on arrival.

More mugs and glasses and some crockery (so could use dishwasher). Also larger cafetiere.
Toaster and cafetiere were faulty.
Need larger saucepan and frying pan.
No washing up liquid provided. Nor proper washing up brushes or cleaning cloths - difficult to keep kitchen area clean without these.

Location was perfect and generally the apartment was well set up. The stairs were a lot but we expected that from the description.

Kitchen utensils were sparse and the cook top was under powered - you couldn't use more than one ring at a time.
The parking pass was not available on check-in. despite sending several messages beforehand to confirm and being assured they would be there on arrival. They were delivered later on in that day.

Great location, well furnished and equipped kitchen, perfect location and views. This is our second time staying here, the number of rooms and each room having it's own bathroom is perfect for us.

The cleanliness of the flat let us down a bit. The grill tray in the oven wasn't clean, there were smears of some kind of skin cream in the bathroom cupboard in one room. The bathroom sink in one room got blocked and one dial on the microwave was broken. We called Host and Stay about it and they said they'd send someone to fix it but they never did.

The location is excellent and the property is clean and comfortable.

When we arrived, there was no scratch card for the parking at the property. I phoned Host & Stay to check what to do and was first told to check all the drawers in the property. After this, I was told to pay for parking and then send a photo of the parking tickets for reimbursement. There have been several email exchanges and promises that the money will be paid but, nearly two months later, I have still not received the reimbursement.

The stairs . But we knew that before arriving. But on arrival we were given the wrong keys to the apartment (we had to swap keys from another tenant ) and no parking card as promised . We even tried to make contact with the hosts with very little response apart from ‘we will reach out to the team and get back to you ‘ but no team ever came back to us .

Excellent location (near the whale bone arch). A nice quite part of Whitby, which was very close to the beach and close enough to easily walk with young children into town. The apartment was nicely decorated and clean, and the beds were comfortable.

The two bedrooms that face the sea were very light in the early hours of the morning as the slated blinds didn't hold back enough light. I'd advise an eye mask for people that find it difficult to sleep in light rooms.

Although free parking is stated, the parking we found was for 3 hours only in the day with no return in 2 hours. There is a car park close and we ended up parking there for £10.80 for 24 hours.

The apartment is on the fourth floor with no lifts. Not a problem for us, but if you have mobility issues or very young kids the stairs might be a challange.

Good location is all I can say about the property.

Cleanliness was awful. Window seals full of dead flies. Defiantly hadn’t been cleaned before we checked in, floors were filthy / not hoovered, the apartment stunk of fast food when we arrived, bed linen had blood stains and a cigarette burn in. Pans didn’t work on hob either. Photos are defiantly outdated on this place as it doesn’t look as clean and new as the photos show.

Great location, comfortable and nicely furnished.

Only one saucepan, hob lacked any power, large frying pan didn’t work on hob. A little maintenance required on property, stains and a burn on carpets, shower door not sealing and mouldy tiles with no grout. Door stop hanging off, walls quite badly marked as you walk up the stairs to the property. We were only there 2 days so didn’t cause us a problem but just needed a little tlc.

The location of the property is fab (make sure you know you have a few flights of stairs to climb) the views are amazing. So close to the beach & the middle of town.
It’s very clean, bed sheets and towels were lovely and fresh.
The shower & baths hot water is great, fast flowing and hot (great for when you’re back from the cold beach!)
If booked this for 2 adults and three small children which I would recommend it for (if you don’t have a buggy!)

The bedrooms linen was very clean, although one of the bedrooms smelt like smoke.
We only had one roll of toilet paper supplied for three bathrooms.
The front door lock had been damaged and the key taken (i have noted this to the office)
I was frustrated we’d not been left out the parking permit/scratch card one arrival / the first day.
Could do with more than 2 teaspoons, but being fussy now! It’s a lovely place.
We will be back to stay in the summer

The apartment was very dirty upon our arrival. It is in a poor state of repair throughout. Broken window blinds, broken showers in 2 of the bathrooms (unusable). Walls covered in dirt and scuffs in every room. Black mould growing in the sealant around the shower enclosure (ensuite double). Dead spider on bathroom wall. Just awful..... really awful! A weekend away ruined 😪
Avoid at all costs... this is a grossly overpriced 2 star property!

The apartment is beautifully decorated and the sea view is perfect.
However as other reviews have stated the shower is not hot ! It does not match the luxury of the decor.
The en-suite shower was cold water. The shower was dirty with a lot of black mould on the hose.
The middle bath/shower was warmer but was still not hot enough.
There was loads of hot water in the kitchen so the problem is specific to the showers.
All the bathrooms smelled unpleasant . I know this can be a problem in apartments. An air freshener would have helped to mask the problem.
The apartment is lovely and the shower situation spoils the experience.
I was glad we only stayed two nights.

It was a pleasure to stay at this place. It is newly furnished and the facilities are great and easy to use. Cleanliness was flawless and we really like the sea views and three bathrooms. One thing to improve is the hot water supply in one of the en-suite bathrooms - it was lukewarm water coming out. Other bathrooms were fine. Great value to see a beautiful town and its surroundings. Would definitely come again.

The apartment was easy to find and within 5 -10 minutes walking distance from the train station.
Great surroundings and views. The views from 2 of the bedrooms and the living room is the beach and sea!
The apartment was well furnished with the most comfortable beds. The bedrooms and linen were all clean and fresh.
We just found that there was hardly any hot water in the showers. It was Luke warm at best. In these winter months it is nice to be able to have a hot shower. We also found that the showers were mouldy. The tiles had mould on them and they just didn’t feel clean. There’s industrial stuff you can get to clean these areas which staff in the hotel I work use which are incredible.
Other than that we’ve had an incredible stay! Great choice of accommodation. Lots of pubs and restaurants on the doorstep. Great for families and friends.

Lovely place to stay, great views over the sea.
Apartment was clean and modern.
Had an issue getting in as the key is almost impossible to put back in the lock box! Also had a problem with the water in one of the showers not being hot enough, and then all hot water started to go cold. Contacted the property and they were very responsive and helpful.
There are still a couple of saucepans/frying pans in the property that don't work because they are not compatible with the induction hob.
Over all lovely place and fantastic location.

Good location with a great view across the harbour mouth and the sea.

The rooms were clean and linen, towels, etc were good and of good quality.

The kitchen was well-equipped and the inbuilt appliances all seemed to work well (of those we used).

The front door key pad lock (to all the properties) was on its last legs. Consequently it continually proved difficult to open, sometimes needing multiple attempts.

The offer of a "damage waiver" at extra cost was not mentioned in the original booking details.

More emphasis needs to be put on the multiple stairs which guests need to climb to get to the apartment.

The telescope (tripod) provided is broken and therefore is of limited use.

The location of the apartment is fantastic. With beautiful views out of three rooms. With the added benefit of the telescope, kept everyone entertained.
The apartment was well laid out and has everything you need for a short or long stay.
All the bathrooms were spotless.
The lounge did have several stains on the carpet and walls were marked in some area's.
We felt the 4pm check in was a little late and host and stay were not flexible on the check in time.
The car parking pass was fab and finding a space was easy.
I would definitely recommend "Sea Watcher" and would return.

Reference to being on third floor with no lift access should have been made clearer. Parking permit wasn’t available in the apartment upon day of arrival. Didn’t receive until end of 2nd day. Not a big issue but it was a hassle trying to understand when it would be delivered. Had to pay for parking in the meantime. Window blinds not fully functioning in front rooms. Carpet in living room a bit stained.

Great location and easy to park. The apartment is near the top of the building so carrying suitcases up the stairs can be a challenge for the less fit, but the view is great when you finally make it.

This property is well located and it was spacious - ideal for 3 travellers. Relatively clean (with a few cobwebs) and tidy. Be warned: two coffee-makers are broken although all else worked fine.

I had an awful experience with the company that manages this property, it was like Ryanair of holiday lettings. There name is Host & Stay, and scarily. First, they took the whole payment in advance (despite what booking.com said of part payment and full balance on arrival); they refused to refund part of the payment despite putting me in arrears on my credit card; then two weeks before staying at the property they demanded more money and threatened cancellation. Apparently I was meant to either pay £250 deposit and £10 non-refundable fee for processing it; or £25 non-refundable fee (to ensure the property but without this being an insurance !). This is outrageous and in fact felt like a scam - one is forced to pay it in the last minute as you cannot find another place to stay that late in the process. Every business should cover for their expenses and if this is a property management one this fee should be covered by them - or this should be advertised in advance! This somewhat spoiled the experience - in addition to the many emails and texts I was received before, during and after my stay. I had to block their number on my phone to stop the invasive messaging. In addition, when I asked about the coffee maker at the property - I got no information, despite the many massages from Host & Stay asking if I needed help. It turned out both coffee makers were broken and I lost money on capsules and coffee etc. Checkout was way to early, 10am, and I was getting aggressive messages from 9am about having to leave on time! No way one can leave luggage there for the day either. This is a company I will make sure to avoid in future. Utterly unpleasant experience!

A lovely apartment with great views overlooking the sea and a telescope to watch the boats come and go - but be prepared to climb a lot of stairs. Very comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen - although not all the pans were compatible with the induction hob. Parking in the area can be tricky, so check you can have enough scratch cards for your party - otherwise it’s a bit of a trek to a free parking zone.

The apartment is well presented and in a great location however there were problems. In communication it is implied that the damage deposit is due immediately. It is not as long as it is paid before your trip. Upon arrival the accommodation had issues. Telescope was damaged, saucepans not clean, cups do not fit with coffee machine, pans not compatible with induction hob. Contacted host and stay who did not deal with them but directed me to yet another form to fill in with 7 day turnaround. No good if you are staying for 3 nights. Small refund gesture for dirty utensils was welcome but other issues regarding telescope, pans and coffee machine ignored. Security deposit was taken immediately upon contact but return of deposit has taken over a week. Overall marketed as premium but not a premium experience.

We had a lovely time in the flat - it was immaculate and so spacious. Amazing sea view and great proximity to Whitby town centre. Thank you so much. The only thing we didn't have when we arrived there was the parking scratch card which was promised on arrival. We did get one posted through the door on the following day after I called to enquire about it. It was sorted out in the end but would have made everything perfect if we hadn't of had that inconvenience. However, would definitely recommend to others and we would love to return one day!

Great accommodations in a beautiful spot on the water. Loved going to sleep with the sound of waves and waking up to that amazing view. Walking distance from the train station and close to lots of great restaurants and pubs. Beds were comfortable and lots of space for the 3 couples traveling together. Coffee and tea supplied was much appreciated in the morning and the coffee shop across the street was convenient for those wanting a latte or fancier coffee options. Highly recommend and would stay again.

The apartment is in a fantastic position and overlooks the sea. It is clean and spacious and easy to check in. Very close to all the attractions.
Every time we showered the water only stayed warm for a short while even though the tank was full and we took turns to shower. The bath water was hot and did not go cold. We were a party of four adults. We reported it but it was not resolved. There wasn’t a saucepan and when this was replaced it wasn’t compatible with the hob. I would expect a company who own several accommodations to know the correct equipment.
Host and Stay mislead the customer. As soon as I paid the full amount I was told I had to pay insurance for damages and if this wasn’t paid I would not be able to have the apartment. Please be careful when booking with them. This was the first time we have had this experience via Airbnb and it has made me nervous about future bookings.

Great location, great view (3rd floor) and warm apartment. Parking on the street was free at this time of the year (Oct to March), but also scratch card for W zone parking was supplied.
Easy to walk to town, Abbey, pier or beach.

If you either go to restaurant or get take away every meal, it's perfect. However if you want to cook, you need your own oil, condiment, etc. No frying pan either.
The front door wasn't opening with the code for the last 1.5 days. Called the number provided but no help there.

The flat is very well positioned, with great views out to sea. It is very well-equipped, well-designed and modern feeling.

The one downside of this booking was that after I had booked through AirBnB (with no refund if cancelled) the management company sent a request that I make a separate security deposit through a third party website. It was not made clear on the Air BnB listing that this was required. The requirement was dropped after I objected, but it added stress to the process.

Perfect location for a trip to Whitby during the Halloween period. Apartment was clean with modern furnishings. Worked out great for a group of 6 with plenty of space and 3 bathrooms too. Beautiful view of the sea and a quick walk to all of Whitby’s sights. Very easy to access with no contact key collection and a helpful app guide.

Sea Watcher is lovely. As the name suggests, the view is gorgeous and the apartment is very attractively decorated and was super clean inside. Any tiny issue was addressed quickly by host and stay. The location is perfect!

Location is perfect for the views and just away from the hustle and bustle of the town .
Accommodation was great for 3 couples and had all amenities you needed .
No good if you have walking difficulty

Parking was very difficult so ended up paying for the whole stay for 2 cars
The curb appeal was poor , steps were disgusting and verges overgrown, a couple were tidying this a bit one morning who lived near as they were embarrassed to be living near to it

Location was perfect.
The property was well stocked with everything you needed.
Having bathrooms was great.

There are a lot of stairs up to the property which wasn't mentioned on the advert. This was a challenge for some of the family.
We only had 1 parking pass and needed 2.

Modern decor throughout and with 3 bathrooms made it quicker for everyone to get ready. Excellent location with beautiful view and telescope was a lovely touch. Parking was easy enough with permits.

only having one key for group of five made it tricky at times and sometimes the key pad on main door didn’t work.The apartment smelled very musty on entering especially the en-suite in the largest bedroom. Not having any instructions for the kitchen appliances. Bit dusty and dirty in places.

Apartment was clean, very tastefully furnished and had amazing views of the sea. It's location was great and was very reasonable. Will definitely be back.

On arrival it's a bit tricky to work out the parking situation so make sure you read the details they send you. You also only get one free parking ticket so if you have more than one car there is paid parking just over the road.

The appartment was clean and looked like the photos. It is in a great position with a sea view. The beds are really comfortable . The kitchen rather encroaches the sitting room and the living area is a little cramped for 4 and would be very tight for 6. It is in a great location for exploring Whitby.

Quality of furnishings and decor is excellent, beds extremely comfortable.
Fabulous views.

Entry instructions / codes typed up wrongly, which was sorted out.
Registration and ID confirmation with host and stay would be extremely difficult if you weren’t computer literate or had a smartphone.

Location is on the seafront and brilliant. Exceptionally clean apartment with 3 bedrooms and 3 bedrooms. Kitchen with induction hob and all required utensils, including a dishwasher. There's a smart TV to watch Netflix, Amazon prime, etc (you need your own account). There's a telescope by the window, nice touch.
Check in and check out was via a key locker and very straightforward. Communication with staff was excellent. They promptly answered all of our questions.
It is a 3rd floor flat with no lifts, so, may not be suitable for everyone.

the apartment is very nicely furnished, great location with wonderful views of the sea !

only one minor point, gaining entry to the property was a little bit difficult as it was not clear at first whether to use the lock box at the side of the door or door code ( which we didn’t see at first). Also the main front door handle is badly positioned so that your hand gets trapped by the door frame when opening. Not sure what can be done by this but it would be good to warn people. Finally while all the apartments lock boxes are clearly named it would also be good to include numbers as this was given in the address and caused us some minutes of confusion trying to gain entry.

Decorated well, wonderful location, well equipped.

Showers didn’t work, were cold, however not discovered until the morning we left.
Key box code incorrect on our arrival and so the agents had to be contacted.
WiFi code incorrect on the large frame information notice and back of the router.

These issues have all been passed to the agency who will resolve them.

This apartment as a great location for visiting the town. My group had some issues with the turnover of the flat and cleaning, for which we were in discussion with the hosting company and did get a suitable response.

What an amazing apartment with such beautiful views of the sea. Location perfect. Close to town so you can walk in but on the quieter side. Only drawback was the stairs being on the third floor - certainly kept us fit!
The apartment was so well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Beds super comfy. They provided so many extras too. Clara’s cafe just at the front of apartment was so good and we would sit on the green at the front with a drink and watch the sea. Heavenly!
Parking was very difficult as we sometimes had to park a long way away.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, well designed luxury apartment. The location is excellent the views looking out over the beach and the sea are breathtaking. The apartment is decorated and furnished to a very high spec and the kitchen is well equipped. Everything is brand-new and in perfect order. The whole block has been renovated to a very high standard and we as a family of 4 we really enjoyed our stay. This three bedroom three bathroom apartment is a perfect home from home I just wish we could’ve stayed a little bit longer. The apartment has everything that you need for a fabulous holiday and we would definitely rebook this apartment or any of the others in the block without hesitation. The parking permit included was a really nice touch as were some complimentary coffee pods and milk. We loved our stay thank you!

The apartment is so true to the photo’s & has all modern facilities & everything you need for you stay. When we visited there was scaffolding up outside one of the bedrooms but thankfully we didn’t need to use that room
