Welcome to STAY Scarborough's Sanderling Chase - a spacious, beautifully finished, luxury split-level apartment in the heart of Scarborough's Falsgrave area, sleeping up to 4 guests. We're steps from Bloom Coffee Shop & Bakery, 10 minutes' walk from the train station, and about a mile from the sea. Whether you're here for a break, a working stay, or need a comfortable base near the hospital, we'd love to have you.

The space

The apartment occupies the upper floors of a characterful Victorian building on Commercial Street. The high ceilings and tall sash windows give the place a real sense of light and space - something you notice the moment you walk in.

The kitchen, dining and living area is on the first floor, and its double aspect - windows on two sides mean it's bright from morning through to evening. It's a proper living space: a comfortable sofa and two armchairs, a flat-screen Smart TV with all the usual streaming apps (BBC iPlayer, ITV, Netflix, Amazon Prime and more - just sign into your own accounts), and a round dining table for four.

Fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances including Nespresso machine, with complimentary coffee pods or sachets provided for your stay. Great if you want to cook - and with quality restaurants and takeaways right on the doorstep, equally good if you don't.

Head up the second internal staircase and you'll find both bedrooms and the bathroom. Bedroom 1 has a king-size bed (Highgrove bed with Astoria 2000 mattress) with plush bedding, premium linen, bedside lamps, bedside sockets and a hairdryer. Bedroom 2 has a super-king bed (same Highgrove/Astoria 2000 spec) - same quality finish, with bedside lamps and a hairdryer, which we can split into two singles on request. Just let us know your preference before arrival. The bathroom is modern and clean, with a walk-in shower, WC and basin. Tower fans are provided in both bedrooms for warmer nights.

Guests enjoy fast WiFi, private check-in and check-out services, complete independence, and everything needed for a comfortable stay. Amenities include a full kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, full-height fridge freezer, Smart TV with Netflix & streaming apps (guests use their own accounts), books, games, and premium bedding (Highgrove beds with Astoria 2000 mattresses with thick winter duvets for cosy stays).

You have access to the full apartment.

Entry is via a secure key safe box on the exterior — full instructions are provided before check-in.

There's also a locked outdoor storage cupboard at the rear of the building, with wall hooks for up to 3 adult bikes (plus space for a 4th on the floor), or for a pram or pushchair.

FREE PARKING :
- On-street parking is usually available steps away—ideal for dropping off/picking up luggage
- Unrestricted parking available: after 5pm and before 9am Monday–Saturday; before noon and after 5pm on Sundays
- During restricted hours (9am–5pm Mon–Sat, noon–5pm Sun): 3-hour disc parking applies; a disc is provided in the apartment

Most guests find on-street parking convenient. For longer daytime stays, Sainsbury's is the most affordable option.

Please be advised that there are two flights of stairs within Sanderling Chase. From the private entrance on Commercial Street, one flight of stairs takes you up to the main living area on the first floor. A second internal staircase leads up to the bedrooms and bathroom. The staircase is well-built to current building regulations with generous headroom — but please do bear this in mind if mobility is a consideration for any of your group.

A sturdy foldaway desk and chair are also available for work purposes.

Please note that the smoke detectors will be tested every Monday at 11 am.

There is a pub just opposite Sanderling Chase, across Commercial Street.

Other things to note

There's a pub a short distance away on Commercial Street. On most evenings it's not an issue, but on Friday and Saturday nights there can be some noise until around 11pm — on busy Bank Holiday weekends it can run a little later. Closing the windows helps with any road noise too.

The super-king bed can be configured as two single beds — please request this prior to arrival.
