We had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend it. The property was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location was great with excellent views of the sea. The host was friendly, helpful, and easy to communicate with throughout our stay. We would happily stay here again and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a lovely place to stay.

We had a great stay at the property! The location is perfect- easy to walk into town and lots of grassy areas right outside. Easy to get parking. The views from the property were stunning. It was a great sized apartment - we were a group of five, with two young children, and there was plenty of space. It was well stocked with decent crockery etc. the bedrooms were all good sizes with lovely bathrooms. Good water pressure and always plenty of hot water. It was nice and quiet at night. The hosts were friendly and shared useful correspondence. We held off giving five stars as the bed in one of the bedrooms was uncomfortable with broken springs and the blinds didn’t block out the light in any bedrooms at all. The sofa was also very hard. The carpets were good quality but in desperate need of a clean, which wasn’t ideal with young children. Hopefully the hosts are able to give the carpet a good clean outside of high season. We would definitely consider this place in future!

Overall a very nice place, the location is perfect and the sea view is really nice. The whole place is very spacious and comfortable, and has everything you need. It does need some TLC in a few places, although the photos are accurate it has obviously had a bit of wear and tear since then - a lot of marks and scuffs on the walls and some big stains on the carpets in most rooms with a very big stain unfortunately being the first thing you see when you step through the door. First impression it looked very clean but there was quite a bit of dust on the blinds and windows which aren't obvious until you open the blinds to get the most of the view out of the windows. Couple of minor things include no toilet roll holders, the extractor in the ensuite didn't work and some of the cutlery and crockery wasn't clean (maybe down to last guests but these are the things I'd expect to be checked before the next person checks in). Overall happy, just lacking in a few areas to justify the high price

We just got home and honestly didn’t want to leave surf and sand . What a beautiful well equipped apartment, stunning location . Comfiest massive beds , spotlessly clean , everything you could want in a holiday accommodation. We would highly recommend it snd there were not any negatives . Already planning to return for longer .

We really enjoyed our stay from views and proximity to Whitby town very clean and tidy. We feel the apartment owners need to carry out some small maintenance on carpets and blind strings which we have fed back to host and stay as well as updating the photos that currently shows armchairs in lounge and bedroom windows as in previous feedback seats were uncomfortable for adults to sit on for any length of time and on small side and i understand furniture has to be changed but need to update photos. We would stay here again but would hope that feedback is taken on board for slight changes to improve the apartment offerings

The apartment was in a great location 5-10 minutes stroll into town. It was clean and tidy and beds were comfortable. Kitchen had everything you needed and the view from the apartment was lovely. Would definitely stay again.

Location beautiful, very nice modern decor, Beds very very comfortable Funky smell from the fridge, unable to adjust blinds in some of the rooms, no cutlery, going round with a duster wouldn't go a miss, was approached by an angry man regarding using the front seating area

We had a lovely stay at the sand & surf and appreciated the wonderful sea view, the quieter location and proximity to the beach for an evening walk. The beds were very comfortable, everything was very nicely furnished. Too bad the blinds couldn't be pulled up in one of the rooms with sea view. Communication with Host & Stay was very quick and helpful. We also had no problems parking in front of the apartment by car. We would choose this place again.

Excellent accommodation with great sea views and central location. Well appointed with all necessary amenities. Great communication with hosts who also provided very useful information about the property and surroundings. Slight downsides were due to difficulty finding a suitable free parking space despite the provision of a parking pass and somewhat inadequate and uncomfortable seating arrangements in the living room.

Lovely position with great sea views from the three front facing rooms. We were able to park fairly close each day using the scratch off card provided. Easy to walk into the town. Flat was comfortable and well-equipped. Host was very responsive when we had a couple of questions.

Lovely property in great location. Good size, clean and as described. No number on front door so had to use photo of property to work out which one it was. Small problem with deposit as this was not listed in the property description so it came as a surprise but this was resolved fairly quickly.

Flat was good - 3 bedrooms, good size. 2 bathrooms, one en-suite. Little cafe opp was very handy for coffee. near whalebones, and tourbus that took us to whitby abbey. . Needs curtains in bedrooms. sofa like a rock to sit on. Comms was bit slow and add to ask for check in information. We were lucky with parking, would struggle on weekends.

Brilliant 3 bedroom modern appartment. Probably one of the best locations you can get in Whitby with great views and easy walking distance to everything. Scratch off parking permit included was a real help. I opted out of the superhog validation which wasn't an issue for the hosts. If it's within your budget I would totally recommend Sand and Surf !!

A really good value and comfortable place to stay. The space was really well planned out and there’s none of the usual Airbnb clutter. It’s bigger than the photos made it look too. The location is close to the centre on Whitby, but not too close so as to be noisy. Would recommend!

Fabulous location. Apartment was super clean, furnishings are very new and modern and kitchen equipped with everything we needed. Beds comfy and there was no noise from neighbours which was good. Location is perfect- right on the beachfront and just a 10 minute walk to the town and harbour. Highly recommend!

Absolutely wonderful stay, would highly recommend. Flat is beautiful and could not be in a better location. Will definitely return. Tip: the on street parking was £6 for just over 24hrs so easier to do that outside the flat rather than fight for the zone parking which was extremely busy

We booked the apartment because of it's location and also how clean it looked, along with the enhanced cleaning promise due to Covid. Unfortunately when we arrived the apartment had not been cleaned at all, it was incredibly dirty. We brought this to the attention of Stay and sent them photographic evidence, they apologised and asked us to pop sent out for a couple of hours while a cleaner came to rectify the problem. Unfortunately upon our return the cleaner had only put a hoover around and nothing else so after a further complaint a cleaner turned up at 7.45pm and asked us to pop out for another couple of hours while he sorted it (we have a 6 year old who needed to go to bed so this didn't work for us), we allowed an hour and asked for our bedrooms and 1 bathroom to be prioritised and asked them to come back in the morning to finish the job. They had finished by midday. Unfortunately for us this put a sour spin on the short break away especially in Covid times and in turn wasted the first night and part of the next day. Stay compensated us for this upon our return. I think it must have been a one off unfortunate experience thankfully looking at the other reviews so hopefully it won't happen again to anyone else. The location was fabulous, super easy to get around and the parking pass was a welcome bonus. The apartment is spacious and boasts fabulous views, the decor is modern and has a fair range of facilities. If it hadn't of been for the issues we experienced we would probably book this again in the future.

A great base for exploring the coast. As a group of 6, we found this apartment to be pretty much ideal for our needs and a great place to stay for a week. The location on West Cliff in Whitby is a real advantage and the view out across the North Sea from the windows at the front of the property is equally beautiful and tranquil. Worth noting that the window in bedroom 3 looks out across a courtyard to the rear of the property. If you want to, you can literally be in the sea in about 2 minutes from your door. Fair warning, the North Sea is cold! It is lovely though to be able to cross the road, drop down the hill and land straight on the beach. The place itself has clearly very recently been refurbished and to a good standard too. All of the rooms are generously sized and everyone slept soundly throughout the holiday. The property itself hosts six holiday apartments in total. Pleasingly, the communal areas have also been refurbished and were perfectly pleasant. Security is well thought out too with coded entry to the communal areas and individual key safes for each of the apartments. In a house of separate holiday lets, there's always the small risk of unwittingly landing at the same time as inconsiderate neighbours. Delighted to report we had no such problems! In this apartment, you'll have neighbours above and below but you've got the floor to yourself. The Agency running the property (Stay) were great to deal with and have obviously put some thought into the property. The welcome book is great and has some really good suggestions if you're unfamilar with the area. The scratchcards to facilitate parking nearby are invaluable and having decent Wifi is really useful in an area where indoor phone signal can be a bit sketchy. I fortunately didn't have to try this but I suspect that there's sufficient bandwidth for a couple of people to work from here if needed. In terms of day to day facilities, having one of the bedrooms as an en suite makes complete sense. The main bathroom is totally fine but you'd need a timetable if there were six of you relying on a single shower and / or bath. The kitchen, dining and living room are a single space which is great for cozy nights in. There's enough room for two to share the work in the kitchen and there's more than enough by way of equipment, utensils etc for you to be preparing every meal here if that's your preference. As it happens, you're spolit for choice nearby in terms of amenities. There's a properly cute coffee shop right outside (Clara's) that did brisk business with us! Equally, Whitby itself is loaded with food & drink options but book early. We struggled to get into some places so it's worth a little forward planning. If I were to suggest anything, there's a couple of really tiny small changes that would be amazing. Bedrooms 2 and 3 are a little light on clothes storage if you're staying more than a couple of days. Also the washing machine (whilst being a very welcome addition in the kitchen) does create a fair bit of vibration when used which could be distracting for some. These are very, very minor things though that shouldn't at all detract from what is a large, well-equipped and comfortable apartment, centrally located that is ideal for families or groups to share and enjoy.

The accommodation was perfect. Ideal setting right on the front. Parking around the corner (free with the booking) or pay and stay right outside. Gorgeous kiosk opposite right by the sea. Morning views are so impressive! Perfect location to explore up the coast for a walk or off into the town for a look around the unique shops and seaside entertainment. Loved it! Thank you

We had a wonderful stay at this great apartment in a lovely part of Whitby. The directions and instructions for our arrival were really clear and straightforward so we were able to “check in” without any problems at all. The apartment is absolutely gorgeous - very smart and clean and beautifully styled. The rooms are big and the amazing bay windows give you a fabulous sea view; perfect for people watching with a cup of coffee or glass of wine! The apartment is also perfectly located, being a 5-10 minute walk outside of the busier centre of town. The streets closer to the apartment have some great, really interesting and independent cafes and bars which offer a nice contrast to those other more touristy parts. I would certainly recommend Whitby as a great place to spend a few days by the seaside.

A fabulous apartment in an ideal location. You are right on the beach, and and easy walk into town. The bay window looking out over the ocean was wonderful. Highly recommended this property.
