House was dirty with stained sofas and footstool, dust on all blinds, dead flies on kitchen window sill, unclean fridge, old used bags in freezer, dirty kitchen cupboards, dirty oven door, dirty hall floor, filthy back door, filthy banister rail and some skirting boards. Nasty smell - house had not been aired. General maintenance of house exceptionally poor. Paint peeling off walls including next to one bed. Chipped door frames, gaps around light switches. Damp stains across ceiling of bedroom 2. Messy paint patches visible to cover scuff marks instead of complete paint job. This property is sold through its photos as a luxury house. The photos online do not represent the house as it actually is - peeling paint, damp etc not apparent. We would not have booked this place if we had seen the true state of the house. Having read other previous reviews, which sadly we failed to do before booking, my review is not the only one listing a catalogue of maintenance and cleaning issues.

Host was responsive and helpful, property is as shown in the picture, beds were very comfortable. Raised a small issue and a solution was offered in a timely manner. Would recommend and would stay again. Property well located but is at the top of a steep hill.

Great location and matched the pictures. Comfortable lounge and bedrooms, well equipped kitchen. Spotlessly clean Easy downhill walk into Whitby. Tricky parking but was a bank holiday and managed to drop luggage off and park 5 minute walk away. Received code to get in at 16.00 but did not get reply from host priory to this and found subsequent responses slow at times, and felt they did not necessarily know the property to offer support. WiFi really intermittent so cannot be relied on.

We enjoyed our stay. The property is well placed for access to Whitby but based on our experience of other Airbnb properties we felt that it fell short of what we have cone to expect for the price.

Great week away exploring Whitby and surrounding areas. Positives: - location 10-minute walk into Whitby - considerably more spacious than photos show - two main bedrooms are very spacious - very clean - modern TVs and sound systems - free parking area Considerations: - garden is a back and side alleyway with no gate to stop dogs escaping - limited kitchen and cleaning utensils - no pantry items such as tea/coffee - Wi-Fi was intermittent - water pressure is weak Overall, a very pleasant week away with the family, but just some points of note if you are considering Holme Rigg.

Lovely weekend in Whitby, the location was perfect. A short walk into Whitby, close to everything, the host provided a really helpful brochure with lots of recommendations and was really responsive! Would defiantly rebook!

We all really enjoyed our stay here in Whitby, dale was really responsive and helped us with an early check in! We loved the area and have made some nice memories with our 2 children Millie and George! Big thanks to dale for helping last minute also when we wanted to extend our Yorkshire holiday! Would certainly recommend this house to friends or family in the future!

Fabulous location and lovely little house. Missing a few extras that would have made it perfect. We had 2 great looking clothes rails to unpack to but no coat hangers which was a shame. There is also no WiFi which in this day and age is really required especially for our 2 teenage boys. Well equipped for our short stay and finished to high standard but a few dust bunnies in the corners. We would definitely stay there again especially if they upgrade to wifi.
