The best thing about the apartment is the amazing location in downtown whitby just a few mins walk from the harbour & old town. We stayed here as a family of 5 (with 3 small kids) for 2 nights. The apartment is clean & modern. The kitchen is a bit limited (no oven for example) & there was a bit of noise from the pub across the road in the evening. It didnt bother me but my husband who is a light sleeper couldnt go to bed till midnight.
The host is a company & you dont get quite the same experience as with an individual unfortunately. The single teatowel provided got dirty & when we asked for another one they said this wasnt possible.
If you want to go out in the evening, eat out & go to bed later then this place would be perfect.

The fact another family had moved into our apartment when we got there. They said Host and stay told them they were in that room.
Host and stay told us we went to the wrong one. Which we did not. The landlord told us to go somewhere where there weren't enough beds for us.
Actually getting in the property and room. Was an absolute pain. The whole time we were there. You never knew if the doors would work at all. Door locks didn't work properly.
The sofa was broken and we couldn't sit on it. Some of the furniture was caked thick in dust. The one fan in the property was trashed and broken. It was very hot at night.
No one has hoovered under sofas in years.
Being told I can't have check in details a few days before we arrive till I have paid a £25 damage waiver (for a 3 night stay). I knew nothing about. Was basically blackmail. It is a rip off. You can get annual cover for less.
I will never ever use Host and stay properties again. Ever. They an basically scam artists. It was awful dealing with them.
